Chapter 1: Kaito POV

Kaito had just gotten home, having yet another successful heist even though it still wasn't what he was looking for. He had checked at various angles since it was a red gem, but still nothing. No mysterious glow nor another gem inside.

As he flops into bed, the gem is on the backburner as tonight his mind is on something else…or someone .

He just can't stop thinking about him.

That blonde guy, who's probably an undercover Public Security Officer, Amuro had actually managed to sneak up and handcuff him. (Hakubastard doesn't count.) It has never happened before…

‘He's dangerous…’ Kaito frowns.

But then again, the way Amuro had hidden his presence, and his ingenuity did impress him. Kaito didn’t even sense any signs yet the blonde still managed to surprise and ambush him.

And yet… he can't stop thinking about the way Amuro had played with the handcuffs after he'd handcuffed Kaito to himself. The way he'd gently pulled Kaito's hand off the wall, the way he'd pulled Kaito in close, face-to-face… and the way he'd looked at him like successfully caught prey.

Kaito shudders, ‘It was practically flirting!’ He puts his head in his hands, a bit embarrassed.

‘I'll admit, I did kind of flirt back, but he started it !’ Kaito complains in his heart, ‘But… he still gives me chills.’

He's glad it was only police issue handcuffs and not custom ones.

Even so, Kaito decides to avoid Amuro for the time being… since he might get caught by him again…and might not be able to escape next time.

Omake:

That night, he tries not to think about what would've happened if he'd pulled in Amuro for a kiss as a distraction. His first kiss being like that would… ‘No no no!’ Kaito shakes his head, ‘I like flirting with danger, but this is ridiculous!’

Groaning, he tries to fall asleep, cuddling with his doves.

Chapter 2: Amuro/Rei POV

He's in his own home/safehouse, Haro asleep as Furuya finished ordering the idol items for Kazami.

Sighing, he smiles as he remember what happened tonight.

In all honestly, he'd just want to teach KID a lesson about making fun of adults (more importantly himself) since he'd worked hard on that magic trick. He even practiced it on Haro.

However, he was a bit apologetic about calling Kazami and using him as a decoy on his day off...hopefully the package will make up for it.

While he was a bit surprised by KID's apparently new toy, the phantom thief being very pleased with it, it didn't distract him. He'd completely erased his presence...and boy was KID surprised when he'd handcuffed him to himself! Proud of himself, he smiles as he remembers KID's attempt at running away before he'd pulled him back in, face-to-face...and KID's nervous expression on his face as he'd explained how to him.

But then KID quickly recovered his poker face, pulling him in before releasing a smoke bomb. The phantom thief had easily escaped him, flying off into the night, leaving the tiara behind.

He smiles as he remembers the white bird flying off, admiring the brilliant escape.

 

Then he remembered the déjà vu feeling he'd felt when seeing KID examine the gem. While the phantom thief denied it, he couldn't help but research... just in case.

Apparently, the thief was on the Belltree Express, probably previewing it for a heist when...that mess happened. He could guess that KID was disguised as Sherry for some reason. Probably as a favor for someone...

'Did Conan-kun put him up to it? Maybe blackmail him into it?' Furuya sweat-drops at the possibility before shaking his head. He doesn't entirely dismiss the possibility but... it's unlikely.

Then he wonders, 'Did Vermouth know?' After thinking about it, he facepalms, sighing, 'If it's Vermouth, she probably did... She recognized that "Sherry" was KID in disguise. But why did she let him go? Does she know him, or something? Maybe have a soft spot for him?'

Thinking going into overdrive, he puts his head on his desk, feeling a headache coming on. The only thing he's sure of is that somehow KID's connected to Vermouth...and therefore to his work.

Sighing heavily, he looks out the window, the crescent moon shining brightly.

'This'll be a long night...' Furuya wryly smiles as he uses all his connections to get everything about KID. As for what to do afterwards... he'll think about it later.

Omake:

He falls asleep at some point...

He dreams of KID, with that tiara on his top hat, looking gorgeous in the moonlight. So much so that he couldn't help but handcuff him to himself, surprising the thief, and pulling him into his arms. A hand holding the thief's hand, his other arm wrapping around his waist as he smiles at him fondly. KID's surprised expression as he's pulled in.

"ARF!"

Furuya abruptly wakes up at Haro's barking, wanting food.

Sighing, shaking his head, Furuya groans, "Hai hai..."

He feeds Haro, trying not to think about catching KID like that... While he did kind of flirt with KID that night, he didn't think his mind would immediately go into catching him like that and maybe kissing him!

Sighing, "...I need more sleep..." he mutters, "...or coffee... Definitely coffee..."

He makes himself a cup of coffee to hopefully wake him up.
