(M/n) and his childhood friend are suddenly forced into a new world with no rhyme or reason. (F/n) seems to know all about this world, but (m/n) is left in the dark. At least everyone's friendly though…

perhaps too friendly.

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

The wind was blowing hard, biting at (M/n)'s nose and cheeks as he walked beside his childhood friend, (F/n). It was around 10 at night during Halloween, and (F/n) had decided the best way to celebrate would be to walk through the creepy forest near her house and see what happens. Not their most well thought out moment, to be sure.

It wouldn't be all that bad if it wasn't turning out to be one of the coldest nights in ages, his 'Victorian' costume (F/n) forced on him not helping against the wind at all. A white baggy button up shirt, tight black pants, and black combat boots turned out to be practically useless in the cold.

He had a belt satchel, but all he had thought to bring in it were his wallet, phone, charger, and earbuds as they were just going on a quick walk. Nothing to keep him warm, unfortunately. His nose stung in the wind and he had long ago lost feeling in his hand and toes.

(F/n) was doing fine, as she had gotten herself a thick poofy dress, leggings, and knee high boots that looked very warm. It certainly wasn't helping her travel in the forest though, as they had to slow down every time it got stuck on a branch and leaves and mud were slowly building up around the trim of the pretty dress.

The (h/c) haired boy blew out a sigh, watching his breath cloud in the cold before disappearing. He tried to rub his temples to alleviate some of his bad headache, which had started as a dull throb when they entered the forest. (F/n) was also complaining about head pain and that nothing interesting was happening so they should go.

They agree to turn back and slowly make their way back on the path they came. A violent throb makes (M/n) gasp and almost drop to his knees, the pain agonizing. Stumbling, he tries to continue on and follow (F/n)'s fading shadow, but the dark path seemed unending and steadily the pain increased until his consciousness finally gave way to darkness.

_________________

(M/n) wasn't sure what was happening. His whole body throbbed in pain and he was having a difficult time remembering anything. A dull murmur roused him, drawing him closer to consciousness until he could hear that it was the sound of multiple people talking. Though they spoke quietly, it was clear by their tones they were incredibly frustrated with something.

"It's too early for such rude people to pop out of nowhere, yes it is. That girl has caused nothing but trouble since she woke up, I can't imagine what the two of them will be like together. We need to get them out before they disturb the Young Master anymore, we do." A feminine voice ranted, clearly displeased at the trouble the unannounced guests had caused.

"I'm sure the Young Master will deal with them, though I'm more worried why they were suddenly in the garden. I wonder how they were able to just… appear." A second voice said, this one sounded more like a young boy.

Before the woman could speak again he heard the sound of a door opening. "Oh my, the Lady sure knows how to make trouble. How is our other guest fairing, has he shown any signs of waking yet." A new voice entered the room, a man with the same accent as the other's, though his voice was much more smooth.

"Not at all Mr.Sebastian, he hasn't stirred a bit since he got here." The young boy's voice replied, clear worry in his tone even with his earlier suspensions. (M/n) wasn't sure if it would be best to wake yet with strangers all around, but if (F/n) was who they were talking about then he couldn't just lay there.

Slowly he tried to come to his senses, though it was hard as his body barely seemed to want to respond to his whims. The bedding he was surrounded by was incredibly soft and he was more than a little tempted to snuggle in and sleep everything away.

Soon he managed to slightly crack his eyes though, earning a gasp from one of the people from earlier. He felt a gloved hand brush against his forehead and forced his eyes fully open to meet a pair of red ones looking down on him.

The hand removed itself and the man leaned back, (M/n)'s gaze following to see the other two standing behind him, all three looked tense as they stared at the now awake boy.

"It's nice to see that you've finally woken, sir. You and your friend were out for quite a while." The man with the red eyes spoke, a strained smile on his lips as though he was anticipating something from him.

The woman and boy also were looking at him as if he would assault them at any moment, it made him wonder what they were so tense about.

Looking around he saw that he was In a very nice room, currently laying on a soft large bed that made him never want to sleep more. But he needed answers, and to find out where (F/n) was.

"Excuse me…" He said softly, his voice jolting the two behind the red eyed man, "I'm very sorry, I'm not sure where I am. I didn't mean to intrude though, thank you for helping me." He smiled in gratitude, the three seemed to be stunned in silence. Suddenly the woman was in front of him beaming and rubbing his hair.

"What a sweet boy, you're much different than I thought you'd be, yes you are." Confused at the woman's sudden liking for him, he jumped when the boy also appeared next to him, a large smile on his face.

"It's all right, I'm sure we can help you figure things out!" He said with determination shining in his large turquoise eyes, his gloved fist hitting his palm in an assuring way.

The red eyed man cleared his throat and suddenly the two were in a line, their backs straight and eyes forward as if they were in the military.

"I will escort our guest to the Young Master, Finny, I believe the weeds still need to be pulled." "Yes Mr. Sebastian!" "And Meyrin the sheets need to be washed." The woman nodded forcefully.

"Well then stop dilly dallying and get back to work."Yes, Mr. Sebastian Sir!" The two yelled before sprinting out of the room to do what they needed.

(M/n) just layed on the bed confused as to what just happened. The man returned his attention back down to the boy who was slowly trying to hoist himself out of bed.

Leaning down to help the boy, they were able to get him to stand without too much trouble. He gave the man a "thank you" before they walked out of the room, the boy stunned when he saw just how big the place actually was. The hallway itself seemed to go on forever, the ceiling towering above their heads.

As they walked toward their destination (M/n) used the time to study the new sights of the elegant building as well as try to get a read on the man the other's had called Sebastian. He was wearing a swallowtail butler uniform and looked very well put together.

He had slightly long black hair with three small strands sticking up at the top, clear pale skin, and of course, deep red eyes that seemed to know much more than he let on. All in all he was a very attractive man. He was also quite nice, though strict as far as (M/n) had seen.

Soon they come across a set of large wooden double doors. Two voices could be heard arguing and he recognized one as (F/n)'s. Sebastian knocked on one of the doors, a distressed "enter" coming from the room. Sebastian opened the door, letting (M/n) enter first before following behind and shutting the door.

(F/n) was still chatting away, saying something about demons and fire. Whatever it was, it appeared to be making both Sebastian and the boy at the desk upset.

"That is enough, I've already said I believed you. Now quit with your incessant chattering." The boy said through clenched teeth, (F/n) only continued though.

"How can I stop when my dream has finally come true, Ciel? I always knew it was my destiny to become the main love interest. Though I am confused, with so many men, how will I choose? I mean I could always let you all share me, love triangles have always been my favorite. Oh, to actually have my own harem!" The air around her sparkled as she continued to mutter about strange things.

With an exasperated sigh the boy turns his attention to (M/n), who was still looking at (F/n) confused. "So you two come from a different world and time, which is strange. But it could also be dangerous for us. I'll need to keep you here for the time being until we figure out what to do."

(F/n) lets out a squeal,"It's happening!" Everyone ignores her as (M/n) tries to handle the situation. "Thank you for letting us stay while we were asleep, sir. But I don't think we should burden you further, as it seems us being here has inconvenienced you. We should be able to figure out how to go back on our own."

The boy stared at (M/n) before giving a small shake of his head. "I appreciate the concern, but you must stay here. I cannot risk her leaking the information of my past or telling people about things that would make her seem mad."

(M/n) nodded his head in agreement, "If it's truly alright with you, I just hope we won't bother you too much sir." The boy then turns to (F/n),"It must be said that what you now cannot leave the manor. Nothing about my past or Sebastian being a demon may not be spoken to anyone, understood?"

The boy looked at the two, but (M/n) just stood in confusion, maybe he misheard. "Um, Excuse me… Did you say demon?" The room went silent as everyone stared at the (h/c) haired boy.

(F/n) let out a sharp snort, "I never said (M/n) knew, he's never watched the anime before. He's probably the most confused here out of all of us." Ciel let out a frustrated groan, already done with the girl from the future.

"Sebastian, take them back to their rooms, I need to get work done and I cannot with all these interruptions." They were escorted out of the study and once again (M/n) found himself in the room he woke up in. Seeing as he didn't have much else to do he curled up in the soft bed, his mind exhausted and wanting to sleep off such a strange occurrence.

Chapter 2: Chapter 2

Chapter Text

It's been three months since they have come to this new world, and (M/n) had gotten quite close with the people in the manor.

Sebastian was still very nice, and even though (M/n) now knew he was a demon he didn't allow it to make him see the red eyed man differently. He had made sure the two settled in and checked on them regularly. He was the head butler and he took his job seriously, not letting anything hold him back from it.

Finnian was a very nice boy only a little bit younger than (M/n). He’s the gardener of the manor, though he wasn't very good at it. The poor boy could never seem to do the right thing, and more often than not the plants under his care died quickly.

He had strawberry blond hair and consistently wore an off white shirt with red piping, orange plaid pants, and rubber boots. A straw hat was kept hanging around the nape of his neck and he kept red barrettes in his hair.

Meyrin was kind and pleasant, and she was the maid of the manor. She was clumsy in nature however, somehow always messing up something or other. She has maroonish hair, wears large thick glasses, and dresses in her maid dress with combat boots.

(M/n) didn't meet Bard until about three days after he showed up at the manor, but he had always wondered what the explosions that shook the manor every so often were. Bard turned out to be the cook of the manor, and just like the other two he was bad at his job. He was always burning things or blowing them up, but he was a sweet guy and was also from the states.

He has dirty blond hair and blue eyes, he always wears his chef uniform and apron. He keeps goggles around his neck and always seems to have a cigarette in his mouth. It was hard to tell with his eccentric nature but he seemed to be around his late thirties and took the role of defacto leader of the three misfit servants.

Tanaka was also a nice, if not strange man. He was quite old and usually stayed in a deflated state. He wore a butler uniform and carried a Japanese cup with him. (M/n) didn't know much about him yet, but he seemed like a good man and all the staff respected him.

And then there was Ciel Phantomhive, the head of the manor. He was a very young earl of 15 (I aged him up) and he seemed very bitter and cold for the most part. But (M/n) liked him, he had seen Ciel act sweet before and he knew the boy was kind inside though it wasn't shown often.

He had grayish blue hair and a deep blue eye, the other one always being covered by a plain black eyepatch. He always had two rings on, a blue silver one on his left thumb and a gold signet ring on his right ring finger. He also wore two earring studs the same blue as his eye. Sometimes he would walk around with a cane, though (M/n) wasn’t really sure what it was for as the young earl seemed to be able to walk fine.

(M/n) enjoyed all of their company and had grown to respect and cherish them all. During his three months he tended to clean a lot, as it helped him stay active and he enjoyed it. He was always going behind one of the three troublemakers to clean up a mess, which seemed to have gotten him the approval and respect of Sebastian even though the (h/c) haired boy technically wasn't supposed to be doing such work.

He had also started drawing more to fill time when not cleaning. It was relaxing and there were lots of pretty things in and around the manor to practice on.

(F/n) hadn't talked to him much, trying to get closer to Sebastian and Ciel. Both of which tried to avoid her as much as they could. She didn't seem to want to go home, perfectly content in this world.

(M/n) had tried to find something to help, maybe a book or item could help explain… something, but there wasn't much to go on to begin with. There seemed to be no real reason they were sent to this world at all, so there may be no way to get back. He tried not to let those thoughts plague him though, he needed to stay positive if he was going to find a way.

Something that had definitely changed was his appearance, his skin was completely clear and his (h/c) hair was always soft and shiny. The clothes he was wearing never seemed to stay dirty either, even when helping Finny with the garden.

(F/n) had also changed like him, she looked more refined, though her actions were the same as ever. She enjoyed mixing up the fashion of this world, one day wearing a lavish and expensive gown and the other wearing boyish commoner clothes as she lounged around the large manor. The servants and even the earl found her odd, but didn’t state it to her directly as she liked to snap if questioned.

(M/n) was cleaning one of the bookshelves in the library when Ciel came in, though since (M/n) was focused he didn't see him. Turning to wet the rag he was using he squeaked at the sudden appearance of the lord, almost falling off the tall ladder holding him up.

Gaining his balance again he flushed in embarrassment, "You scared me, Earl Phantomhive." He mumbled as he got down from the ladder to make sure he wouldn't actually fall.

Ciel seemed quite amused by the reaction he had caused, "I needed to speak with you, are you too busy for a simple chat?" It had a slight mocking tone and (M/n) reddened even more. "No sir, I just wasn't expecting you. What did you need to speak with me about?"

Ciel sat on one of the large chairs before motioning to the other one in front of him. Taking the offered seat he looked anxiously at the young earl, wondering if he had done something wrong.

The earl crosses his legs and leans forward, his chin on his fist as though he's studying (M/n). "I would like to know how your stay has been, and why you insist on cleaning even though I have informed you that it is the servants’ jobs." A sweatdrop appeared over (M/n)'s head, he had been scolded a few times when Ciel or Sebastian saw him cleaning.

"It's been very nice sir, everyone has been very friendly…" He trailed off, not wanting to get scolded. Ciel persisted though, an eyebrow raised as he smirked at the flustered boy, "And the cleaning?"

"It helps me pass the time sir, I know the other's are supposed to do it but it feels wrong not to do something while I'm staying here. You've been very kind to me and (f/n) and I was hoping to help in any way I could." (M/n) finished with a determined look at the earl, who seemed to be thinking.

"Well, since it appears you won't stop even when I tell you, you may have a job as a butler here. Then you can get paid for the work you're doing. It seems only right based on your logic, and you can continue cleaning to your heart's content." The earl seemed satisfied with this solution, but (M/n) was not so sure.

"Earl Phantomhive, I appreciate it but I don't mind doing it as I am now…" He was cut off as the earl lifted his hand to stop him, "There is no other choice, you either become a butler for the manor or you stop cleaning and spend your time here as a guest. I will allow you to keep your clothes and room, you will mostly just work here by name and if needed by contract. Do I make myself clear?"

With a sigh (M/n) accepted defeat. "Yes, My Lord. If it is to help for all you've done for us I would be honored to work for you."

The earl nodded in approval at the acceptance, standing and making his way back to the library entrance. "Sebastian will show you what rooms are yours to clean and explain pay and breaks. It will be nice to have at least one other competent staff around here."

Chapter 3: Chapter 3

Chapter Text

Being a butler was nice. Though he's only been one for a few days, It wasn't much different to how he'd been spending his time as a guest. Sebastian had helped him a lot starting out, he also seemed glad to have a staff member that could actually clean.

He was cleaning the stair railings when a throat cleared behind him. Startled, he turned around to face Sebastian, "I guess everyone just enjoys giving people heart attacks in this manor." The butler gave him an amused smirk,"My apologies for startling you, (M/n). But the Young Master requests your presence in his study, I will escort you there."

He starts to walk away, his long strides carry him quickly and (M/n) has trouble keeping up for a while. It doesn't take long before they're entering the study, Ciel at his desk and (F/n) sitting in a chair next to it. Ciel already looked annoyed so it was no question that (F/n) must have been ranting once again to the earl.

"Ah, (M/n). You're finally here. I needed to inform you that we will be having a guest later today. Sebastian will help you with how Phantomhive servants give hospitality, though this is your first guest I expect things to go well." (M/n) gave a small bow, "of course, My Lord. Is there anything else?"

The earl sat for a second in silence, "I would like you to accompany me for a game of chess tonight, after you are done with your duties." Slightly stunned at the odd request but not minding it (M/n) nodded,"I shall, My Lord."

The earl dismissed the two butlers, telling them to take (f/n) with them. She took this as an opportunity to latch onto Sebastian, much to Ciel's amusement and Sebastian's dread. (M/n) scolded his friend who didn't bother listening to him, instead talking to Sebastian who answered her with a fake smile.

_____________

(M/n) was in the dining room with the others. Since he had finished his chores of the morning and it was rare for everyone to be together he was glad to spend a morning with them.

He was talking with Bard about what to do with the guest when he heard Finny start to yelp in pain. Turning to the boy he saw that there was a dart lodged in the back of his head, courtesy of the Young Lord. "Ow ow ow, what was that for Master, What did I do?" Finny asked the earl, who nonchalantly sipped his tea, "Nothing, I don't need to justify my actions."

(M/n) was gently extracting the dart when Sebastian burst through the doors, his eyes narrowing at the sight of the servants, "There you are. Have you finished weeding the courtyard, Finny?" Finny gasped looking surprised.

"Meyrin have you washed the bedding?" She blushed and messed with her hand, trying to think of an excuse.

"Baldroy, shouldn't you be preparing for tonight's dinner?" The chef's eyes avert from the butler sheepishly and he doesn't respond.

"Tanaka…" Sebastian looks down at the old man and sighs, "Well, I suppose you are alright as you are."

His eyes then turn to (M/n), who stiffens, dart in hand. "I already have all of my work done for the morning, Sir." With a pleased smile Sebastian nods to (M/n) before turning to the three troublemakers with a harsh glare.

"Now you three, we have no time for thumb twiddling, Now get to work!" A look of fear crosses their faces as they rush off. "Simply hopeless." The butler says as he stares after them.

(M/n) gives him a pitying smile and sets the lone dart on the table before spotting a pretty bird through the window and goes to get his art supplies.

___________

(M/n) and the three troublemakers peek over the corner to see Sebastian walking towards the study. "A guest is coming," Bard says and the other two gasp,

"Sebastian looks down on us all the time. But tonight will be so perfect he won't even know what hit him. ACK, yeah that's what he'll say." The other two copy Bard's strange sound, "that's for him to say, not you."

(M/n) stays silent through the exchange, already knowing it would end in disaster. But he knew they wouldn't listen to his worries, so he'd just have to go behind them and hopefully be able to fix whatever they messed up.

That turned out to be easier said than done, with his afternoon chores and going behind them there was only so much he could do. He was only able to save Meyrin's mishap, luckily he was around when she knocked over the china cabinet.

Catching it was not an easy feat though, and both his arms and hands were bruised quite badly. Meyrin apologized profusely but he assured her he was okay. He would still be able to serve the guest, he would just keep his hands out of sight for the most part.

They were then rounded up by Sebastian and (M/n) learned that Finny had sprayed weed killer all over the garden and Bard had scorched dinner with his flamethrower.

Sebastian looked over at Meyrin, probably waiting for her problem. "I knocked over the china cabinet again, but (M/n) caught it before anything broke, he did." Sebastian looked over to (M/n) in appreciation, though his eyes narrowed when he saw the state of the (h/c) haired boy's hands.

(M/n), seeing where Sebastian's gaze was directed hid his hands behind his back. "It's alright Sir. I can still serve the guest, the damage is nowhere near severe." He said, though Sebastian still looked frustrated. "We will get that wrapped up soon. Now for you three, we don't have much time before the guest arrives, if you would kindly get your acts together. Just look at Tanaka…" the red eyed butler stills before walking over to the small old man,"Everyone listen to me." He took Tanaka's cup and held it in the air, "We will use this to save the night.

Everyone sets off to do the tasks Sebastian tells them, but when (M/n) tries to he's stopped by a stern glare. "(M/n) we will go and get that treated before the guest arrives and I will not hear a word of refusal." A small pout forms on his face as he follows behind the taller man.

________________

(M/n) watched as the guest stepped out of the carriage, an impressed look on his face. He was an older gentleman with mousy brown hair and beard, a tophat and fancy cream colored suit showed the man was incredibly wealthy and definitely here for business.

"Hello. Welcome, sir." He and the other servants said in sync. (M/n) was also surprised that Sebastian was able to pool everything together in such a short amount of time.

The once dead garden had been pulled to make a Japanese stone garden, though it looked a little odd next to the Victorian style manor it was appealing.

The (h/c) haired boy watched as the guest was led inside by Tanaka before relaxing, hearing the other's sigh of relief as well. The nerves of the greeting being laid to rest though they still had the rest of the visit to worry about.

"Who would've thought a few boxes of gravel would turn into such an amazing garden!" Finny said, his eyes wide as looked around. "Naturally we are able to handle this, we are servants of the Phantomhive manor after all." Sebastian looks back to them with a smug look.

"Though there is still work to be done, look sharp now." (M/n) nods, excited to help out as the others also give a "right". Sebastian turned to (M/n) though, "I'll need you to come with me, we will be overseeing everything."

He tried to protest only to be shot down with a red glare. He had really wanted to help with the others to show he was capable, but he just had to go and get hurt.

They were watching Bard cut up the meat to make sure he got it right, when Meyrin came barreling down the hallway with boxes towering over her in her arms. She tripped, Sebastian catching her and the boxes so there wasn't another catastrophe.

(M/n) was sure he was going to have a heart attack from all these near failures. Sebastian congratulated the servant's on a job well done and told them to behave while he did the rest of dinner preparations.

"(M/n), please go tell the Young Master and our guest that dinner is to be served." Sebastian asked as he placed finishing touches on things. Ecstatic to finally have something to do, he gave an excited,"Yes sir." And sped off to the game room.

When he got to the doors he took a second to regain his composure, his perfect features schooling themselves until he was ready.

Opening the door he saw the earl and guest in the corner playing a board game, strangely enough (F/n) was nowhere to be found. They turned toward the (h/c) haired boy. "My Lord, dinner is served." The earl nodded and the Italian lit up,"Ah, eating in a stone garden sounds magnificent. Shall we go, My Lord?"

The earl didn't make a move to get up,"alright, we'll finish the game later." The guest seemed disturbed by the persistent earl. "Is there any need to finish, it's obvious I'm going to lose."

"I'm not in the habit of abandoning games halfway through." Ciel finally left his seat to make his way toward the door. "How childish." The Italian murmured grumpily, though when the earl turned back to him he immediately retracted, "I mean it takes a child's eyes to see what's really important."

(M/n) was not at all appeased by the man's blatant cover up, though when the Italian turned to him he made sure to hastily cover his glare with a kind smile.

The man blinked at the (h/c) haired boy, "You have a new servant, I'm surprised I didn't see him when I walked in. He's quite the looker." A tad disturbed by the comment (M/n)'s smile wavered, but he didn't allow the guest to see his unease.

"How very kind of you to say, Sir." He says with a tight smile, his discomfort coming through anyways as he quickly started to walk back out the hallway so he could lead the two from a distance.

Ciel was also upset by the shameless comment towards his servant, but did a much better job of hiding it as they walked to the garden.

________________

The earl, guest, and (F/n) sat at the long table. The girl looked as though she was about to burst in excitement, constantly whispering to Ciel who just shooed her away with a glare. (M/n) stood beside the table with Meyrin and Sebastian. Unfortunately he was placed closest to the guest, but he didn't have to move so he was just glad he didn't have to get closer.

Sebastian announced the menu for tonight, and a stunned silence fell across the table as their meals were placed before them, which was essentially just layered raw beef in a fancy bowl.

"A pile of raw beef, and this is dinner?" Something about the question set off Sebastian, as he went on a rant of how the meal was only for the most honored of guests. The entire spectacle he made of the meal was really something, especially from the usually docile servant.

The stunned Italian cheered after the presentation, impressed by the hospitality of the manor. It was now Meyrin's turn to serve the wine, though when it was clear the nerves were making her freeze up Sebastian leaned over to tell her to hurry. This just seemed to shake the poor girl up more, and instead of pouring it in the glass it ended up on the table.

The world seemed to freeze before they jumped into action. (M/n) grabbed the wine from Meyrin as Sebastian yanked the tablecloth off seamlessly. He quickly played it off as a speck of dirt and the guest was overjoyed.

(M/n) took over the task of pouring the wine, but as he bent down and poured a glass for the guest he felt the older man’s eyes glued on him. He stiffened when he felt a hand rub up and down his side in a way the guest played off as just friendly skinship. "You have such capable servants, My Lord." He hurried to be done with the guest’s glass before giving him a small bow and quickly made his way over to the earl, who's eye were narrowed at the guest.

He poured wine into the earl's glass before stepping back into his original place.

________________

(M/n) looked down at the game board. Since the guest had not finished his game with the earl, (M/n) decided they should play that rather than chess. His luck was going much better than the Italian’s, he hadn't landed on a bad spot yet.

"Today's been awful for you. Getting injured first thing and having to deal with a pig, I had hoped things would go better." The earl said as he moved his piece, looking down at the servant's bandaged hands.

(M/n) gave him a reassuring smile, "I'm quite alright, My Lord. It could have gone much worse, I'm sorry if I have embarrassed you with how I acted though." The earl sent him a small glare, "there's no need."

A loud scream jolted (m/n) who quickly glanced toward the window, "Was that our guest, Is he alright?" He wasn't aware he was getting up before the earl sternly ordered him to sit back down. "I'm sure he's fine, Sebastian's taking care of him right now."

(M/n) let out a relieved sigh and spinned the game top, surprised when he got the good ending with no bad rolls. Ciel also rolled the good ending, smiling ruefully as he let the game piece drop.

Feeling his master was going through a hard time he patted the hand that was still hovering over the piece. The earl tensed before relaxing, allowing the other to comfort him.

Chapter 4: Chapter 4

Summary:

When it says various x reader, it's basically going to be everyman in this show. Which is usually how it happens anyway in these kinds of fanfics, but I thought I should warn you that quite a bit of it will be dark.

Chapter Text

England seemed to be having a rat problem. The little things were everywhere, and while (M/n) wasn't afraid of them, he felt really bad when he had stepped on one by accident while carrying a box to Sebastian.

He stood with the three troublemakers as Bard held a chewed up grey cable. "Bloody hell, this wire's done for." "Oh, not the rats again." Meyrin replied.

(M/n) frowned, he had hoped the outbreak would calm by now. He wasn't sure how long he could last without stepping on another one.

"This is getting ridiculous, I mean I know they've been plaguing London lately but I didn't think they would be this far outside the city."

The four give a nod of agreement, before watching stunned as a mouse runs out and stops in front of them with a squeak. Letting out cries of panic everything went to hell as Finny grabbed a statue pillar, "now I've got you!"

He smashed it down, putting a massive hole in the wooden floor, but allowing the mouse to easily escape the attack. "Are you trying to kill us too, you idiot?!" Bard scolded him while (M/n) tried to grab the rodent and prevent it from harm.

He was soon successful, though it had been difficult with the others running as if their heads were gone. The other's watched impressed as he opened the window and tossed it out unharmed.

He then turned to them with a glare, "That floor better be fixed before the Young Master sees." The three gulp and rush back to the broken floor.

(M/n) looked around to find more work to do, but paused as he saw his Young Master walk out of the game room with (F/n) hanging on his arm. He was followed by multiple people, though the only ones (M/n) recognized were Madam Red, Lau, and Ranmao.

Ciel, seeing (M/n), motioned for the butler to follow him. They were led to the sitting room, where Ciel sat with his aunt and Lau for tea. (M/n) decided to stand beside Sebastian as the head butler served the tea.

"Wow, this smells lovely. Tea can taste excellent when made well." Lau complemented. (M/n) noticed Madam Red's butler in the back watching Sebastian in awe, though he was soon scolded by his Lady which visibly brought down his mood.

Feeling bad for the fellow butler (M/n) walked over to him and patted his arm comfortingly. "It's alright Sir. It takes a while to get used to, especially when you're new to a job like this." He made sure to whisper so as not to disturb the others or make things worse for the brunette.

Grell looked down at the boy before giving him a small smile in gratitude. Quickly (M/n) went back to his spot, though he felt concerned as he saw that Sebastian was currently being groped by the lady in red which the raven was clearly not happy about.

Thankfully Ciel told her to knock it off, which she did so with a "sorry, doctor’s habit!" Lau began to talk about drug trafficking, and (M/n)'s eyebrows rose in alarm as he discovered there had been shady things going on in the room with his Young Lord.

"Perhaps we should leave the investigation up to Lau, a rat knows best where a rat's nest is." The red lady said as Lau got up and strode over to Ciel, placing his hand on the blank faced boy’s head. " I am but a tame guinea pig under the order of My Lord. If he orders me not to strike, I'm bound to do nothing.

(M/n) was about to go over and free Ciel from the man, but Madam Red beat him to it. "Keep your filthy paws off my darling nephew!" She was so angry (M/n) could nearly see fire coming out of her mouth.

The two were going back and forth with their arguing, (M/n) watched them until he heard Sebastian call out to the Young Master who was making his way towards his study.

Having a bad feeling (M/n) followed behind the Young Lord to make sure things were alright. He was slowed down a little by the three troublemakers running around, when he was finally able to get away he tried to find his master only to find that he had been left behind.

Hastily making his way to the study he knocked on the door, but there was no answer. Feeling dread well up in his stomach he whispered a quiet apology to his master before opening the door. Freezing when he saw a strange blond man holding his Lord who was limp in the man’s arms.

Moving on the instinct to protect, he lunged at the man, managing to get him by surprise and knock him down. However the man was of a bigger build and quickly overpowered him. (M/n) gasped as he was slammed on the ground, his head making a loud thunk as it hit the wooden floor.

Too dazed to do much else he layed limply under the man, who seemed to be looking for something. "Sir… please don't, don't take tak- the Young Master…"

It was surprisingly hard to speak, but he had to try. He didn't know what the man wanted with his Lord, but it couldn't be anything good. The man looked down at him with a smirk and though his vision was blurred (M/n) realized with a start that he had seen this man come out of the game room behind his master. The large scar over his face easily identifiable even in the boy’s predicament.

"What loyal dogs he has, your accent tells that you're not even from here, yet you would go so far for some spoiled child." He patted the top of the boy's head mockingly before grabbing a cloth that he had been looking for.

He gently placed it on the boy's mouth, apparently having some mercy for the already out of it boy. The (h/c) haired male was out quickly, his tense body relaxing under his drugged sleep.

His peaceful resting face was not lost on the drug transporter though, who let his eyes linger on the pretty feature for a second, running his thumb down his jaw as he removed the cloth.

With everything in order he got the earl over his shoulder and left out the window, leaving the unconscious servant on the floor.

Sebastian walked the cart of refreshments down the hall, stopping at the study. He knocked and waited for the acknowledgement of the earl, though when no one answered he decided to open the door to check if his master had decided to switch rooms. It looked empty at first but looking toward the corner he saw someone on the floor.

He rushed over, shocked to see (M/n) laying on the ground next to the desk, a white rag next to head. Picking up the boy carefully he heard a loud groan of pain come from him.

"Oh (M/n), how do you find yourself in these situations?" His voice seemed to stir the boy, who tried to open his eyes but flinched at the light. "Se.. Sebastian?"

He was able to open his eyes after a second of adjusting, relief filling his being at the sight of red eyes looking down at him.

It didn't last long though, his mind recalling what had happened for him to be in this position. Not able to stop it, tears rose in his eyes at his inability to protect the master. "The master… that man took him! The one with the scar! We need to.. we need to find him, and fast."

Sebastian cut him off before he could continue. "I will find the Young Master, not to worry. You, however, will rest and stay here until I am properly able to check on you. Do I make myself clear?"

He felt himself being lowered onto his bed, he hadn't even realized they'd moved from the study. He wanted to argue though, he had lost the Master to that man so he should help find him.

He was still so drowsy though, it felt as though his head was underwater. Making it hard to even think let alone argue. "But, couldn't… couldn't stop him. I wanna.. make sure, ok… Master." His words could barely be heard with how low they were, sleep persistent in dragging him under.

Sebastian chuckled at the determined boy, gently rubbing his hair. "The Young Lord will be fine, I assure you. Don't blame yourself for something you couldn't prevent. I will be back soon." He spoke softly to the sleeping boy and pulled his blanket over him before quietly exiting the room.

____________________

He woke up to see a deep blue eye staring down at him. Feeling joy fill his being he couldn't help himself, "My Lord!" He wrapped his arms around the shocked boy, tears falling down his face as his worries disappeared.

After a second he released the earl, knowing he didn't like physical touch. Though when he saw how unkempt his master was he decided to help by fixing his hair. His master seemed to want to protest, but let out a sigh and just allowed the boy to mother him for a second.

"It seems that your injuries consist of a severely bruised back and a mild concussion. It's not too bad but you need to start being more careful. Going up against a man twice your size was reckless, things could have easily gone much worse."

The scolding was to be expected, and (M/n) nodded at his master's words and placed his hands in his lap with his head bowed. "I understand, My Lord. I didn’t mean to be rash, but I just couldn’t just stand and watch as he took you.” He sighed, before looking up at the earl with a sheepish but questioning look. ”If you don't mind me asking, what exactly happened My Lord? Why did that man take you?"

Ciel seemed to think of an answer, "He wanted to distribute drugs through London. We had the threat handled, however. Your friend certainly didn't help, she somehow managed to get caught stowing away in the car taking me.” The boy got an irritated look on his face, clearly still upset with how the situation went.

“She acquired some serious injuries for constantly talking back to the man. Honestly, it made the whole thing much more problematic than it should have been."

(M/n) nodded, though he was shocked at her actions. She knew what would happen in this world, so why hadn't she warned anyone? It was confusing, but he'd never been good at understanding the girl even after their many years of ‘friendship’. Which (M/n) had come to realize during his time in this new world was more just him being a loyal pushover that allowed her to do as she wished, which more often than not spelled trouble for him.

It was one of the things he was grateful about in this world. With having made actual friends, he no longer really had to interact with her. Which was more relieving than it should have been, considering how long they've stayed together.

He decided not to think about it too hard. If she wanted to act as the hero, he didn't really have any way to stop her. Though that wouldn't stop him from protecting his new master, or his fellow servants and friends.

Their discussion was interrupted by Sebastian opening the door, "Lady (F/n) is resting in her room, she requested for the Young Lord to see her." Ciel groaned and stayed seated next to the bed, "I'll speak to her later. I'm checking on (M/n)'s condition." The red eyed butler bowed in agreement with his master before walking closer to the bed.

"Now that everything is settled I can start the treatment for (M/n)'s injuries. If you would please take off your shirt and lay on your stomach." Feeling flustered at the sudden request, the boy tried to protest. "Ah, is that really necessary? I'm sure I'd be able to do it myself."

Sebastian gave him a glare that clearly said ‘you're not getting out of this’. Sighing he tried to ignore the two as he sat up and undid his satchel. Dropping it to the side he lifted his shirt quickly and chucked it off before flopping on the bed, the back of his neck bright red and clearly betraying his embarrassment.

Not quite sure what the other was going to do he let out a yelp at something cold rubbing on his back. "My apologies, I should have warned you that the cream is cold."

The smug tone of Sebastian made (M/n) redder in frustration, but he didn't try to protest more. It was strange though, Sebastian started to rub the treatment lower on his back. (M/n) hadn't seen his back, but it really only hurt on his upper back near his shoulder blades.

But Sebastian seemed determined to rub in the cream throughout his entire back. He tried not to think about it, but remembering his master was also next to the bed watching everything made his soul wish to leave his body.

It's been around five minutes, which was an awfully long time for rubbing in cream. But Sebastian was also doing little messages to help him be less tense, so the boy didn't really feel like complaining.

That was until Sebastian's hand swept by his side, the ticklish sensation drawing a squeal from the boy as he arched to get away from the hands.

Realizing what he had just down he could feel himself flush, it spreading to his shoulders as he groaned into the pillow in embarrassment about being ticklish.

After that it was only another minute before it was done. He made sure to put on his shirt as quickly as possible, hoping that this was the only time he needed such an embarrassing treatment.

After putting on his satchel he looked up to face the two, surprised to see his master's face was also bright red. Even Sebastian had a small blush across his cheekbones as he excused himself to check on the servant's.

(M/n) discussed a few more things with Ciel. Mostly about what to do to avoid what happened today. (M/n) promised to try to be more careful so as not to worry his master.

When his master left he snuck out of his room to clean, the constant rest already causing him to go stir crazy. He found the three servants and Tanaka around the entrance talking and he greeted them happily, suddenly he was bombarded with questions about where he was and worry about his being.

He waved them off saying he was fine and talked for a bit before he decided to clean the table in the sitting room. Unfortunately, he was caught when he was halfway done by Sebastian.

Scolding the stubborn boy, the butler sent him back to his room for the rest of the night. Laying on his bed bored, he watched the sunset through his window as another adventurous day passed in the phantomhive manor.

Chapter 5: Chapter 5

Chapter Text

Spread out on the soft dark blue bedding, (M/n) was collecting his thoughts. It had been somewhat uneventful recently, well as uneventful as it could get with Grell in the manor.

The clumsy butler was currently under training with Sebastian, making everyone's lives in the manor a living hell. (M/n) actually enjoyed his time with the brunette, he was fun personality wise, if only a little strange.

He was pretty average, with green eyes and brown hair that he kept tied up with a red ribbon. (M/n) loved the color of his eyes though, he would unconsciously stare at them often, though he wasn't sure why.

(F/n) had taken to latching onto the poor man, trying to flirt and always mentioned her favorite color being red (which he found odd because he knew her favorite color was black, why was she lying?). He was honestly incredibly confused with her interest in the androgynous man. But he knew it wasn't his business, and even if he asked her directly she probably wouldn't answer him.

Sitting up on the bed he looked around. His room was pretty spacious for a servant considering he was able to keep it although he no longer had guest status, he was always floored with how beautiful it was. His bed was tucked in a corner, a dark wooden nightstand next to it. Across the room was a vanity with his wardrobe beside it. A large window provided light during the day, though he also had a candle holder on his nightstand for the night when he stayed up to think or draw.

A nice arm chair with a table in front of it was added by Ciel, so the boy could make art during his free time instead of trying to do more work.

And lastly the door to his adjoined bathroom was a few feet from the foot of his bed, which was very nice to have when he had to get ready quickly to do chores.

His master's kindness always warmed his heart, everyone was so nice to him. He usually tried to return their kindness by making drawings of things that reminded him of them. The servant's quarters were already filled with them and he'd seen a few hanged in Ciel’s room and study as well, though those were more hidden. Sebastian probably kept his in his own room, though (M/n) wasn’t sure as he’d never seen the head butler’s personal quarters.

Huffing he watched as the sun raised higher in the air and smiled, it was time to start the day.

________________

(M/n) was checking on his master, making sure breakfast was perfect as Sebastian lectured the servants. (F/n) sat next to the earl, poking her food with a fork.

Her excitement for this world seemed to have dampened since neither Ciel or Sebastian were responding to her provocations. She usually just mumbled about being bored or that she should get to do something.

Distracted with his master, (M/n) didn't notice the tea cart speeding toward him with a flustered Grell on top of it. Sebastian, seeing the boy about to be run over, quickly grabbed the boy away from the cart's path.

Finny hadn't been as lucky however, the scalding tea from the cart splashed on him as it went past. (M/n) was thanking the butler before he heard the loud yelp from the strawberry blond.

Looking back toward the pained sound, (M/n)'s eyes widened as he quickly rushed to the boy to help cool him off.

Grell had hopped off the cart and was also fretting over the gardener, attempting to help by grabbing a napkin. Instead he somehow succeeded in yanking the entire tablecloth off the table along with the lord's breakfast.

Chaos erupted as (M/n) checked to make sure the young earl hadn't been hurt. As if that wasn't enough Grell was now kneeling on the floor with a knife to his throat. "How dreadful! I must atone for this with my death!"

Unsure whether to stay with his master or help with the suicidal man, he decided to snatch the knife from him and let Sebastian talk with him. Whatever he said must have worked, Grell seemed to melt under the red eyed butler's words while whispering about how kind he was.

(F/n) seemed annoyed with the whole situation, since she suddenly stood up and stormed off to her room. None of them paid any mind to her departure as they tried to fix the situation.

___________________

(M/n) hummed happily along to the music playing in his headphones. Though there was no service in this world, he had found he was able to charge his phone by getting energy from potatoes, a trick he had learned in science class. Sure it took a lot of them, but it was worth it as after it was charged it seemed the battery could last for much longer than before.

He looked back at the freshly cleaned window, satisfied at his work until he spotted a stubborn dirt stain around the bottom. He had to lean close to scrub it, so when someone suddenly touched his shoulder his surprised jolt smacked his forehead against the window seal.

Rubbing his head he takes out his earbuds and turns to the person, surprised to see his master giving him an amused look.

"Young Master, What may I do for you?" He asks the earl as he returns his phone and earbuds to the satchel around his waist.

"You and your friend are accompanying me to town so we may keep an eye on her. We need to fetch a few things before returning." (M/n) was concerned about the plan though, "Wouldn't it be better for me to stay and watch over the manor, my lord? I'm aware that the servant's are here but with Grell still learning…"

He was interrupted as the earl turned away from him and started walking, the (h/c) haired boy instantly following. "They'll do fine for a few hours." Was all the boy said as he made his way down the hallway towards the staircase.

(M/n) wasn't so sure but didn't have it in him to continue arguing with him. The boy had known the servants longer after all, perhaps everything would be fine .
______________

Stepping off the carriage (M/n) looked around in wonder. Everything was so much different from the future, and though he liked his world this one definitely had a certain charm to it.

Turning to watch as Sebastian helped Ciel out of the carriage (M/n) wondered what all they needed when the earl spoke. "Sebastian will be taking Lady (F/n) to retrieve my new cane. (M/n) you come with me."

Confused at the splitting he followed after the earl. It was only a short walk before the boy stopped in front of a medium sized store. Holding the door open for his master (M/n) walked in behind and was stunned to see they were in a jewelers.

Waiting by the door he watched as Ciel talked to a man at the desk before he was handed a bag. About to open the door to let him out (m/n) was surprised when his master stopped in front of him and handed him the bag he was given by the jeweler.

"It took longer than expected to be made, but consider this a gift for your service at the manor. The other's also got gifts when they started serving." The earl explained. Once again (M/n) was awed at his master's generosity and gave the boy a grateful smile.

His smile dropped in shock as the gift dropped from the bag into his hand. A sapphire pendant with a leather strap. Carefully he lifted it by the strap to see the silver backing was imprinted with the Phantomhive crest. "Sir, I-"

The earl, already knowing he would protest, cut him off. "It's custom made, so it can't be returned. Just accept it, I'll even help you put it on." Not waiting for a response he took the pendant and looked at (M/n) expectantly. Knowing he wouldn't get through to the boy he turned around.

He felt the strap slide down his head to rest on his collar bones, the pendant resting comfortably on his chest over his shirt. Ciel looked him over and nodded in approval, pleased with how it looked on the boy.

Looking down at the pendant he realized what it reminded him of. "It looks somewhat like your ring, my lord." Ciel seemed surprised as he glanced at the mentioned ring on impulse. "I suppose so, though it's not cut from the same diamond as my ring."

They talk more while waiting for Sebastian and (M/n) discovers the ring was precious to the Phantomhive family, having been passed down for many generations.

When the two finally got to them and (F/n) caught sight of the pendant she became furious and wouldn't even look at him. Sebastian didn't seem surprised by the (h/c) haired boy's new possession and (M/n) had a feeling the butler and earl had planned it together.

The butler instead gave him a closed eyed smile, "as I thought, the pendant suits you (M/n)." Flushing at the compliment, the boy gives him a warm smile and replies with a flustered "thank you."

With everything done they enter the carriage and make their way back to the manor.

________________

The ride back to the manor was mostly uneventful, except for (F/n) insisting she also received a gift like (M/n).”Why does he get something nice and not me when we came here at the same time?! This is so unfair!” Ciel denied her request though since she didn’t work for him and didn't pay her much mind the rest of the way.

Standing beside Sebastian as the butler opened the door (F/n) was confused when the man froze. Ciel also seemed confused at the butler's behavior as he pushed past him, widening the door.

Ciel and (M/n) froze as well, the manor that had been fine when they left had been completely redecorated in pink and feminine things.

Even worse was when (M/n) saw Grell hanging from the ceiling by a noose. "Grell, what are you doing?" The earl asked the dangling brunette, "at the moment I believe I'm in the process of dying, My Lord."

(M/n) quickly tried to help the poor man down, but his height didn't help as he could only jump to try to reach the rope. Luckily Sebastian saw his struggles and cut it, the brunette collapsing in a heap.

Helping the gasping man up he attempted to get the noose off but was distracted by a girl bursting through the door. "CIEL!" Suddenly the girl had over frighteningly fast , hugging Ciel to the shock of the servant. Only (F/n) seemed to find the situation normal, though by the way she was seething she wasn't happy about the girl's arrival.

"Um, who is this girl?" Grell asked Sebastian, who was simply watching the scene unfold. "She is Lady Elizabeth Ethel Cordelia Midford, the Young Master's betrothed."

Grell tried to wrap his head around her name before realizing what Sebastian had said, "betrothed?!" (M/n) was also shocked at the butler's words, though it made sense considering arranged marriages were common back in this time.

As they were talking Elizabeth took notice of the two new people standing in the entryway of the manor. "Ciel, who are they?" Taking a moment to recompose himself, the boy answered. "(M/n) is a new servant of the manor, while Lady (F/n) is staying as a guest. They came together from the states."

(M/n) instantly bowed to the Young blonde before giving her a bright smile, "It's a pleasure to meet you, My Lady. I'm glad to know the Young Master has such a nice person to be with." The girl instantly beamed at the boy's words.

"How nice of you to say! I just hope to make Ciel smile. It's why I redecorated the manor, it was so dreary and grim in here before." Ciel, reminded of the current state of his manor, sighed as he looked around. "I even dressed up the servants."

(M/n) was confused as to what she meant until he spotted the three troublemakers hiding in a doorway in feminine costumes, even Tanaka wasn't spared from the lady's redecorating.

Elizabeth looked around before spotting Grell between Sebastian and (M/n). "Aw, why did you take him down? He made a lovely ornament." Sebastian gave a bow and attempted to lighten the lady’s suddenly down mood. "I thought he detracted from the room, My Lady."

Elizabeth pouts slightly before lighting up, "I almost forgot, I got something for you as well Sebastian!" She quickly placed a pink bonnet on his head," you only wear black so I thought this would brighten you up!"

The three troublemakers snickered before Sebastian sent them a hard glare, scaring them so badly it seemed their souls left their bodies. He swiftly turned back to the Lady, "I'm honored you went through so much trouble for a simple servant."

She beamed and turned to (M/n), placing a pair of light blue bunny ears on his head. "I'm so glad I brought extras, you look so cute!" Blushing at the gift and compliment (M/n) bashfully thanked the girl.

Squealing at the boy's cuteness she looked over at (F/n), but before she could put anything on her she snapped. "Don't you fucking touch me, Pinkie!"

A heavy silence fell over the room which was broken by a highly pissed (M/n)," Excuse you?! You do not talk to people that way (F/n), especially if they have done nothing to you! You apologize and go to your room, now!"

The girl seemed shocked by the boy's stern tone, before giving him a glare and retreating to her room. Completely ignoring the nearly in tears blonde.

The boy quickly comforted her, telling her it wasn't her fault and that (F/n) was just very mean. Elizabeth surprisingly got over it pretty quickly, latching onto the (h/c) haired boy's arm and declaring him her best friend.

"What a mood killer! I was so excited thinking about how we should throw a party to celebrate the redecorating of the manor, after all it'd be a waste not to when it's so pretty." She ignored Ciel's attempted protests as she grabbed Grell's noose and rushed off to get ready.

____________________

Finishing up his chores (M/n) wiped the sweat off his forehead, accidentally knocking off the bunny ears he had forgotten were on his head.

He picked them up and examined them. They were pretty well made and had a black bow around the base of the left ear. Smiling he placed them back on his head, jumping when he heard a knock against the wall behind him.

Turning around he sees Sebastian, "The Master requests your presence in the study." Nodding, he moves to follow the butler but pauses in confusion when the butler smirks at him, "You look quite fitting as a bunny."

Flushing he speed walks past the man to escape his embarrassment, quickly making his way to the study. Entering the room he looks over to see his Lord standing awkwardly near his desk. Hearing Sebastian close the door, Ciel relaxes a little.

"My Lord, you needed me for something?" The earl nods at the boy's question, taking a few seconds before answering. "I require a partner to practice my dancing, you are the only one that I can trust with this request. Sebastian is much too tall to dance the female role."

(M/n) was a little confused by the requests but he figured it couldn't be too hard. He had been to formals before so he knew the basics. Agreeing to help his Lord he allowed himself to be maneuvered by Sebastian, who placed him and the earl in the right position.

With Ciel leading it was even easier than the formals, but the earl was having a rough time with it. Tripping or stepping on (Mn)'s shoe, he had even misplaced his hands a few times and brushed quite close to the boy's rear accidentally.

But soon they were able to get the basics down and (M/n) congratulated the boy earnestly, proud of how fast his Lord was learning.

_________________

The party had finally started, and the servant's were not amused. Lady Elizabeth had somehow found even more feminine outfits to force them into, (M/n) himself was wearing a pretty (f/c) gown. His hair which had grown out to reach a little past his shoulders was tied up in a braided bun.

Ciel finally emerged from the staircase, walking down it elegantly and Elizabeth gushed about how good he looked in the outfit she picked out for him.

Her pleased smile drops when she spots his ring, however. "Why aren't you wearing the ring I picked?" Ciel seemed annoyed, brushing it off as he said he didn't want to change them.

Lady Elizabeth was not pleased with this though, "But the one I picked out matches your outfit perfectly. This one isn't even your size!"

Ciel insisted it didn't matter, but suddenly the Lady began crying. Concerned, Ciel goes to comfort her but as soon as he reaches out Elizabeth snatches the ring from his hand. "Haha, now I got it. Now just put the other one on and-"

"Give it back, Lizzy." The earl's voice interrupted hers, sounding furious. Elizabeth stutters out a protest and Ciel snaps at her,"I said give it back!"

Elizabeth reels back in confusion and hurt before muttering things (M/n) couldn't hear. Suddenly the girl winds her arm back, "I hate this ring!" It shatters as it hits the tile floor, the girl seemed stunned at her own actions.

Ciel seems too stunned to react before he raises his hand. (M/n) knowing the Lord would regret his actions, quickly steps in front of the girl. The slap rings through the air of the large ballroom, everyone seemed to be frozen at the rapid pace of events. Even Sebastian's eyes were wide with shock as he held his master's cane tightly in his grip, his other arm raised to stop the earl left hanging in the air.

Feeling the sting calm down (m/n) smiled gently in an attempt to soothe the startled lord. "It's alright, My Lord. I know you're angry, and you have every right to be. But Lady Elizabeth didn't know about the ring or what it means to you. She was just trying to make you happy and got carried away when she felt hurt."

(M/n) could hear Sebastian explaining about the ring to the girl, but he kept his eyes on the earl to make sure the boy was alright as well. Finally the servant's words seemed to register and Ciel looked over the boy, his uncovered eye filled with regret as it rested on the already reddened skin of his cheek.

"Meet me in my room later tonight." The shaky request confused the servant, but he didn't get to ask what his master meant as the boy picked up the shattered remains of his ring and threw it out a opened window.

Gasps were heard and Lady Elizabeth's sobs lightened. "Ring or not, I am still head of the Phantomhive name." Ciel declared, before walking closer to his sniffling fiance. "Come now, how am I supposed to ask a crying girl to dance?" He wipes her tears before holding his hand out to her.

"May I have this dance?" The girl blinked before letting out a small but happy yes. They started to waltz around the room, Sebastian brought out a violin to provide music for them. Surprisingly Grell began to sing as well, bewildering the servant's. Though his cheek still slightly stung, turns out Ciel had quite the arm, it did nothing to dampen his mood and (M/n) couldn’t stop smiling through the night.

_________________

The party was over, and it seemed Grell was getting ready to leave. He felt that Sebastian's teaching would really help him as a butler and he was ready to again serve Madame Red.

Sebastian and the servant's seemed glad to get rid of the clumsy butler. As the brunette was making his way to the carriage (M/n) stopped him, out of breath from having to grab things in the manor.

Happy he had caught the man on time he shoved a few papers into his hands. "I apologize for not saying goodbyes with the others, I forgot my pictures inside and needed to hurry to make sure I would get to you on time. I hope you like them, I'll really miss you in the manor. I also really enjoyed your singing. I hope you can find a way to do it more."

The brunette slowly looked through the drawings (M/n) had given him. Most of them objects and designs Grell liked before he saw a portrait of himself the boy had painted, red roses decorated the empty space of the picture.

The butler suddenly wrapped himself around (M/n), crying as he told the boy he would miss him as well. He waved as the carriage left with Grell, heading back and making his way to his master's room per his orders from before.

The inside of Ciel's room was as grand as always, but (M/n) focused as his master moved to try to find something. He sat on the bed as the earl requested, shocked when the boy brought a tin and sat beside him.

When the earl opened the tin (M/n) realized it was a cream, the same one Sebastian had rubbed on his back. Seeing his master scope some onto his fingers the boy instantly protested, having his master do something so trivial was incredibly improper. "My Lord you don't have to, I'm perfectly fine doing it myself."

The Earl just looked at him unamused, "This is not up for debate (M/n)." He stated before gently bringing the cream to his injured cheek, hovering over it for a second before slightly pressing. Getting no response from the servant he began to rub the cream on the injury, scolding the boy for his rash actions as he did so.

Once the cream was rubbed in Ciel's hand remained on his cheek, the lord staring at his face. After a moment of this the boy felt a bit self-conscious by the staring, his ears flushing as he tried to snap the lord out of it.

"Uh, My Lord?" The earl blinked before removing his hand, "That was all I needed, you may return to your room." Nodding, the servant got up, "Then I wish you a good night, My Lord. Thank you for helping me, you're very kind." He gives the earl a smile before exiting the room, shocked when he almost runs straight into Sebastian.

"Oh, I'm so sorry Sir. I didn't know you were outside the door. Though I did want to tell you that your violin playing at the party was amazing."

The butler smirked, "Thank you, (M/n)." The butler looks at his face and (M/n) jolts in surprise by his gloved hand running gently along his injured cheek. "It seems as though the Young Master has already treated it."

The butler mumbles something under his breath that (M/n) couldn't hear before smiling at the boy. "It's quite late, I believe it's about time for you to be off to bed."

Returning the butler's smile he nodded, "Alright, have a good night Mr.Sebastian." The butler wished him a good night as well and he made his way to his room. Thinking about how kind his master and fellow servants were.

"(M/n), wake up."

(M/n) hummed as he felt himself being pulled from his sleep. Slowly opening his eyes he was shocked to see his master standing at the side of his bed.

"Mas.. ter? What's wrong, is something going on?" His drowsiness slowly left as he tried to think of what could be wrong.

The earl didn't look like anything was off, "nothing has happened, I simply needed you up as fast as possible. We need to go to London so I may work on a case."

The (h/c) haired boy nodded slowly, confused as to why his master himself had come to tell him instead of another servant.

He sat up to hurry and get dressed, pausing when he noticed his master's face had flushed bright red. Confused at the earl's sudden embarrassment he looked at himself, blushing as he realized his nightshirt was raised high on his leg, his thighs completely exposed. Pulling down his shirt he bowed as best as he could in apology, "I'm so sorry, Master! I completely forgot!"

As if things couldn't get any worse he caught movement from the doorway and realized Sebastian had been there the whole time, watching the scene with an amused smirk.

Not able to take the embarrassment, he pulled the blanket to cover himself completely. "I'll make sure to be ready in a moment, My Lord. But may you both please leave so I may get dressed?"

Ciel, finally recovering from his state of shock, gave an unsteady yes as he quickly strode out of the room with Sebastian to give the mortified boy some privacy.

_____________

The carriage ride was mostly silent, though (F/n) sometimes saw something out the window she had to chatter about. (M/n) was happy to be outside the carriage next to Sebastian, though he did feel bad for the Young Master who hadn't said a word since they left.

As they approached the town house (M/n) was left in awe at the sheer size of it, his master's wealth always surprised him since there weren't many places as pretty and grand in the world he used to live in.

They pile out of the carriage, (F/n) holding tightly to Ciel's arm so the boy was left with no choice but to escort her. As they step inside (M/n) tries to take in every detail of the beautiful estate, not noticing the other's watch him with amused grins.

The lord was sulking about the amount of people in town. According to Sebastian, they tended to migrate toward here when the seasons start to change.

"Getting out of the manor could be a nice change of pace, It's a break from those four at least." Sebastian said as they made their way up the stairs. "We could enjoy some peace and quiet for a time."

"Some peace and quiet does sound nice." The Young Lord replied, (M/n) nodding his head in agreement. Sebastian opens the door to the sitting room, stunned to see Madam Red, Grell, and Lau in the room already, searching for tea.

Once they get over the surprise Ciel asks why they were here, to which they don't even try to give an answer. "Ciel, you're early dear." Madam Red says, Lau holds a case as he looks over to them.

"Your sudden appearance here in town must mean-" Madam Red cut him off to finish his sentence, "The Queen's Guard Dog has a new scent to follow."

_____________

Sebastian had made tea for the Earl and 'guests' while (M/n) stood beside Grell, whispering quietly to the man to catch up and see how he was.

His master was discussing his new case with the two, the name Jack the Ripper floating around the room. (M/n) was shocked when he first heard about it, as it was also a killer in his world. Though that killer was never found, so he wondered how the case would go.

Ciel explains that is why he was in town early, he needed to gather evidence. "But are you sure you're brave enough to stomach the crime scene?" (M/n) looks at the man with a slight glare, he was sure his master could handle it, otherwise he wouldn't have come.

Lau continued to go on though, saying that a dismembered body would surely drive him mad. Ciel took this in offense to his name, "I am the head of the Phantomhive's and service to my queen. Don't ask foolish questions." The air was tense as Lau apologized.

(M/n) looked over at Grell who also seemed nervous, it was going to be a long day.

The crime scene was crowded with people, as they finally got to their destination they were stopped. "Sorry, my boy. I'm afraid a crime scene like this is no place for a child."

The man didn't say it mockingly, which was strange since Ciel and the Yard didn't get on well from what (M/n) knew. This man must be a new guy. "I'm here to see the victim's body." Ciel spoke plainly, the man reeled back in disbelief before they were interrupted by someone calling the man.

It turned out to be Sir Arthur who had called, who didn't seem pleased at the young lord's presence. "Well if it isn't Lord Phantomhive, what are you doing here?"

The new man, or Abberline according to Arthur, asked the older man if he knew who the earl was. "I just want to help, Sir Arthur. Seems your investigation is dragging a bit, you know who sent me of course."

Ciel held up the Queen's letter with a smug smile on his lips. (M/n) huffed as his master rudely snatched the case papers out of Abberline's hands to look through.

"Seems you haven't found any major clues yet." Arthur quickly snatched back the papers with an offended frown, "We at Scotland Yard are more than capable of handling this I assure you, There's no need for you to interfere."

Though he was trying to insult the boy the earl's smug grin never left his face, "Splendid, shall we go then?" He started to walk away, the two servants instantly following. They meet up with the others who had been waiting off to the side.

"Now what dear?" Madam Red asks the boy walking ahead of them. "Now we go to see someone with actual useful Intel." "My Lord, you mean…"

Lau input dramatically, (M/n) narrowing his eyes in confusion of who they were talking to. (F/n) seemed to be bursting in excitement, though that could mean anything at this point.

"Yes, indeed."

______________________

They stand in front of a broken down store with a large sign that says 'Undertaker' above it. (M/n)'s not really sure what to think about it as he looks at the gravestone and coffin posing as what he assumes are decorations.

"So, where are we?" Lau asks, Madam Red instantly going off on the man. "You don't know? Then what was all that about?"

Ignoring the two bickering, Sebastian explains that this was the workplace of Master Ciel's informant. They make their way inside, Sebastian holding the door to allow them to pass. The inside of the store was also strange, but (M/n) hadn't been in many morgues so he wasn't sure if this was the norm.

A sudden raspy chuckling was heard throughout the store, "Welcome, I thought I may see you before long. My Lord, it's so lovely to see you." A coffin lid is pushed to the side revealing a long-haired man who had been hiding in it.

Most of them were horrified, (M/n) included. Ciel and Sebastian had no reaction to the arrival, and (F/n) had stars in her eyes, looking about ready to jump the man.

"Do I finally have the pleasure of fitting you in one of me coffins today?" Ciel also had no reaction to this, "No that isn't why I'm here, I wanted to-" He was cut off as Undertaker places his hand on the earl's mouth.

"No need to say, I'm already aware. Very well aware, one of my recent customers was a bit unusual, shall we say. I helped though. I made her look beautiful again."

The man's large grin unsettled (M/n), who apologized in his head as he moved behind (F/n) to shield himself from view.

"I would like the details please." Ciel simply responds to the man, and Lau seems to light up. "Ah I see, so this funeral parlor is simply your cover business. How much is it for information?" The man took a quick step back as the long haired man as he zipped to loom over the drug dealer.

"I have no need for the Queen's coin, there's only one thing that I want from you. Please, My Lord. Give it to me and I'll tell you anything. Give me the extraordinary gift of true laughter. Just one joke and all of me information is yours." The man wiggled around in anticipation, (M/n) wasn't sure if he should be scared or worried about the guy.

Lau started off with a joke first "What side does a tiger wear its stripes? On the outside." (M/n) gave a small chuckle, the joke was a classic after all. A grateful look was given to him by Lau before Madam Red stepped up.

(M/n) was excited to hear the Lady's joke, but was surprised when the Young lord's hands covered his ears. Looking back he saw that Sebastian was doing the same to the earl and they didn't stop until the 'joke' was over.

After those two failed the Undertaker looked expectantly at Ciel. "Now My Lord it looks like you're the only one left. I gave you a special discount last time, and I'm not gonna do it again." Suddenly Sebastian stepped up from behind Ciel and told them to wait outside.

Although confused, they all made their way out of the shop, leaving Sebastian and the Undertaker alone. (F/n) pouting about how she hadn't had the chance to tell a joke.

Suddenly the building erupted in laughter, it was so violent the sign came off the store. It nearly hit (M/n) who had been distracted by the abrupt noise, but luckily the Young Master pulled him out of the way and he escaped being flattened.

Apologizing and thanking his master, (M/n) almost missed when Sebastian beckoned them back inside. The long haired man was slumped against his desk, drooling in pure happiness that made (M/n) wonder what exactly Sebastian had said.

"Oh my. I've now seen the face of ultimate bliss." It must've been some joke Sebastian had told the man for him to say it like that.

After a while they were all settled down, Undertaker had even made them beakers of tea which (M/n) enjoyed sipping on. It was definitely a new experience, sipping tea out of a beaker while sitting on a coffin, but it wasn't as bad as he would have first thought.

(M/n) took the time to observe the shop and its owner, not really interested in hearing the details of the gruesome murders being discussed. He already felt bad enough for the poor woman being massacred for what seemed to be no reason other than their chosen profession.

The shop was pretty small, mostly filled with stood up coffins from what he could see. The morgue owner was incredibly strange, and not just because of his eccentric nature.

His long white hair and scarred face made him seem shady, the strange black robes he wore not really helping with said shadiness.

"First he slits their throat with a sharp weapon, then he rips into them right here…"

Wiggling uncomfortably at the conversation he appreciates as Sebastian rests a hand on his arm, rubbing slightly to help ease the boy's nerves.

Luckily they don't have to stay there for too much longer, though their exit had been delayed slightly when they had to pry a squealing (F/n) off the chuckling man.

In the carriage (M/n) was pressed in between his master and Sebastian with the Madame and Lau sitting in front of him, (F/n) had been told to sit at the reins with Grell. Sebastian was talking about possible suspects to narrow down what kind of person it would have to be.

Madam Red interjected though, explaining that as the season was almost over people would be leaving the city. Which could include the person they were after.

Sebastian didn't seem at all worried though, "Then we'll have to conclude this investigation quickly." A large smirk spread across his face as Lau and Madam Red looked at him in disbelief.

Telling Ciel he would make a suspect list he opened the door to the carriage, which was still moving. He moved till he was holding on from outside of the carriage, "If you'll excuse me." Letting go, the door closed and Sebastian disappeared from view.

Madam Red and Lau looked out the back window completely stunned, but he was already gone.

___________________

"Welcome back, everyone. I have awaited your return." The two gape at the butler as Ciel and (M/n) stroll in, the (h/c) haired boy giving a small cheerful wave to the raven. Lau and Madam Red quickly snap out of it and bombard the man with questions as Grell and (F/n) enter and close the door.

Sebastian opened one of the scrolls to prove to the Madam he had indeed made the list, naming off each person as they stared in awe. He finally concluded that he had narrowed the list down to one possible suspect.

"Are you sure you're just a butler? Not a secret military intelligence officer?" Sebastian had a smug closed eyed smile, "You see, My Lady. I am simply one hell of a butler."

(M/n) was happily finishing his chores, giving the railing a last scrub with a rag before going to place it in the supply closet. Double checking the chore list in his head he gave a nod to himself before heading off to the study, as his master had informed him to do after he was done.

Once he arrived he gave a small knock and heard something crash before Madam Red's voice sang out, "come in~" Stepping inside he paused to see that everyone was inside beside the servant, and they were dressed in different attire.

His red faced master being the most noticeable, wearing a large pink dress with a bluish gray wig on, he looked like a young lady. He was also standing next to a broken vase, which he must've knocked over in his surprise.

Though he was confused by the strange situation, he didn't want his Young Master to think he didn't support him. "You look lovely, My Lord." It was silent for a moment before Ciel dropped his face in his hands, his blush spreading rapidly at the boy's comment.

He heard Madam Red say something around, "what an earnest boy." A throat clearing brought his attention to Sebastian, who was wearing a tutoring outfit as well as glasses.

"We'll be visiting Viscount Druitt's manor so you will need to wear these." The man presented a stack of clothes to the boy, a nice embroidered shirt and black slacks. He was quick to get dressed and everyone got to the carriage.

_________________

Riding beside the manor (M/n) looked out his window with wonder as he listened to the other's talk about the Viscount. They stepped out of the carriage and began to make their plan. Ciel was posing as Madam Red's niece visiting from the country, Sebastian his tutor.

(M/n) shivered in disgust when he heard that the man would go after young girls, despite it being a different time it still rubbed him the wrong way. He went to go stand by the side to make sure all went well, his eyes widening when he spotted his master hiding from Lady Elizabeth behind a table.

Quickly he made his way over before Lizzy could catch them. "Oh, Lady Elizabeth, what are you doing here?" The girl looked over in surprise before she brightened at recognizing him. "(M/n)! Why I'd never miss a party with so many pretty dresses! Where's Ciel, did he bring you with him?"

The boy shook his head with a tight smile, feeling bad he would have to lie to the cheerful girl. "I'm here alone, actually. The Master's not feeling well and wasn't able to make it, so he let me go as a day off sort of thing." The girl seemed disappointed for a second before brightening up again.

"Then I'll have to show you around, I'm the best at parties. Just leave it to me!" The girl dragged him off, completely forgetting about the girl in the pink dress she was chasing before.

_____

(M/n) huffed, exhausted after running after the energetic girl. After a while they had lost each other in the crowd, he took the time to recover as he leaned against the wall.

Though he wasn't able to rest long as a tall blond walked up to him, "My, what a beauty. For a young man you're incredibly pretty, Baby Bird." The boy shrunk into himself, not sure how to deal with the man's blatant flirting.

"How kind of you to say sir. May I ask your name?" The man seemed as though he was physically struck by the question, "How dreadfully impolite of me. I am the Viscount Druitt, though you may refer to me as Alastor, Baby Bird."

(M/n) just gave the man an awkward smile, "It's a pleasure to meet you, but I believe I'll stick to Viscount Druitt."

Before the man could respond he was called from someone in the crowd. Giving the boy a heartfelt farewell he disappeared, much to the boy's relief.

Letting his eyes close to try and stem a budding headache he was startled when a hand suddenly grabbed his shoulder. His eyes snapping open he came face to face with (F/n), who was smirking mischievously.

"Why are you just standing there, dumbass? We came here to investigate, not fuck around." The boy's eyes twitched at the girl's rude questioning, but he didn't let it bother him too much.

"Master is the one investigating, I wouldn't want to get in his way and cause him trouble." The girl simply rolled her eyes at the boy's response, "Oh come on. It's not like it'll hurt anything. Think about it, it'll help him out a lot if we can find evidence against the dude. You wanna help, don't ya?"

(M/n) bit his lip, unsure of what to do.

>Go with (f/n)

>Stay in ballroom

"I guess it would help the master if we searched around as well." (F/n) nodded quickly at the boy’s reluctant approval, "yeah! It's not like we could screw up, all we gotta do is check some rooms out, it'll be easy peasy!"

(M/n) wasn't so sure, but he knew better than to argue with the stubborn girl. They made their way out of the ballroom trying to draw as little attention to themselves as possible.

Climbing a staircase they found a hallway with multiple rooms. (M/n) paled at the sheer amount, knowing there were probably many more hallways like this. It would take way too long to search everywhere.

He turned to tell (f/n) as much, but was shocked to see the girl wasn't there. She had somehow vanished while he was lost in thought, and (m/n) had no idea where she could have gone.

He went further down the hallway to see if she had just somehow gone ahead without him noticing, jolting when a hand came down on his shoulder.

"My my, it seems as though you're lost, Baby Bird." Turning he came to face the Viscount, breathing out in relief he gave the man a small smile. "Sir Viscount, I apologize for just walking around aimlessly in the hallway, my friend wished to explore and seems to have gone on without me."

The man nodded, the suspicious glint in his eye disappearing at the boy's sincerity and he gave him a gentle smile. "Why, I believe she was going the opposite way, as I passed her just moments ago."

The boy's eyes widened at the man's words, (f/n) had intentionally ditched him! Why else would she go the way they came instead of searching the rooms like they had talked about. He slumped slightly as he gave a dejected sigh.

"It figures she would do something like this, I'm terribly sorry for this Viscount. I didn't wish to cause trouble, I wanted to make sure she stayed relatively behaved." The man nodded in understanding as he patted the boy's head, "No harm done, Baby Bird. If you would like, I could help you attempt to find her."

The boy looked unsure, "Are you certain, I don't wish to cause you more trouble." The man simply nodded as he began to lead him back the way he came, taking some turns to see if she was down some hallway.

Soon they came to a hallway where one of the doors was slightly cracked, the Viscount smirked as he opened the door completely, "Ah, it seems as though our searching has come to an end."

(M/n), who had felt their search would go nowhere, perked up. He quickly made his way up to the door the Viscount was holding, ready to give the girl a piece of his mind.

He paused as he took in the room, as well as the girl limply sprawled on the ground. "(F/n)!" Horrified he rushed over to kneel at her side and pushed her onto her back, so caught up in making sure she was OK he didn't hear the Viscount close the door.

"We have to do something, Sir! She could be seriously hurt!" His desperate tone caught in his throat as he looked back at the man, shocked when he saw that the man was calmly looking down at the two.

"Oh dear, how upsetting. I wouldn't worry too much about it though." (M/n) was confused at the man's response, turning to (f/n) to check on her again. The movement was sluggish though, his head spinning at the small movement.

"Wha… why?" He looked at the man standing over him, black dots swirled with purple and green as he tried to focus. He felt his arm being pulled before he was forced to stand.

He was quickly brought out of the room, stumbling behind the man as he looked back and weakly attempted to stay with his sleeping friend. His attempts did nothing though as he was dragged across the hallway, not able to pay attention to directions he was mostly trying not to fall over and pass out at any moment.

They came to a stop in front of a large set of doors, the man pushing them open and the boy felt himself being tossed onto a bed. He knew he should try to escape, but just trying to breathe felt like a chore. Shutting his eyes to try and stabilize himself as his entire body tingled. It was hard to focus as he felt the man climb onto the bed to lean over him.

The man's breath hit his face and he tried to turn his head away, though a gentle hand grabbed his chin and kept him facing the man. Not wanting to be completely vulnerable he managed to crack open his eyes slightly, ignoring how the room spun as he studied the face of the Viscount.

Dread built in his stomach as he saw a cruel smile spread on the face inches from his own. The Viscount chuckled at the drugged boy who could barely move.

"Oh my, what a lovely baby bird I've captured. We'll have so much fun together from now on, Love."

He tried to protest, though all that came out was a small whine. Whatever had happened was taking his strength away, slowly getting stronger in a way that made (m/n) panic.

Had he been poisoned? Was he going to die? He started to whimper more as tears sprung to his eyes out of fear. The Viscount's smirk softened as he stroked the side of the boy's face soothingly, rubbing away his tears.

"Now now, none of that. It'll be alright, I promise to be gentle with my pure baby bird. You have nothing to fear, and as you get used to it you'll even learn to crave it. You'll never leave this room unless I wish for you to, you're mine now."

The man's words didn't do much to aid the boy's fears, though he did feel slightly better knowing he wasn't going to die. That small happiness quickly died out as he felt the buttons of his shirt being undone.

It took a lot out of him to grab the man by the wrist, hoping to stop him. With no strength behind it though it didn't even budge him as he finished with buttons and slid the shirt down the boy's arms that fell to lay limply at his sides . Throwing the shirt off the bed he licked his lips at the quivering mess under him.

Not able to help himself he leaned down and pressed kisses to his exposed collarbone, both his hands going to the boy's hips and feeling up his sides. Gasping the servant tried to wiggle away, though now all his strength was gone and he only slightly moved under the man.

The Viscount had moved from kisses to marking, leaving trails all along his neck and under his jaw. As he focused on a spot behind the boy's ear his hand trailed up, fondling the boy's heaving chest before moving on to his nipples.

He grins at the boy's gasp, pinching them before rolling the buds between his fingers. Removing himself from his neck he quickly replaced one of his hands with his mouth, groaning as he gave a small bite to it.

(M/n) was trying hard not to feel anything, but as the touches grew more daring he couldn't stop the noises that escaped him. "You sound so pretty Baby Bird. I can't wait to hear what you sound like when I'm inside you."

A small warning as the boy felt his pants suddenly yanked down to his knees, the man grabbing his thighs in one arm as the other tugged his pants the rest of the way off. (M/n) couldn't believe this was actually happening, trying to ignore the reality of it as the man kept him in that position.

Kneeling to the side and keeping the boy's legs held tight in his arm he stared at his Baby Bird in his naked glory. The poor thing was trembling, though his cock was fully hard and the way (e/c) eyes gazed at him though hooded lids sent a hard pang of arousal to his groin. He himself had been hard since he had gotten the boy on his bed, excited to have his piece.

His eyes trailed down the servant's body, noting the chained pendant that had been hiding under the boy's shirt but not paying it much mind. He loved the feel of hoisting the boy up, his legs and ass on full display to the man.

As he gazes down lustfully he brings his hand up to grope the boy, earning a frightened cry as the boy tries to clench his legs tighter than they already were.

Paying no heed to the boy's weak protest he slaps the boy's ass and grabs a handful of the flesh, pulling it to the side to reveal his tight pink hole. "My, your flower is simply exquisite, Baby Bird. I would love to taste you, but I'm afraid it will have to wait for later. I can't wait any longer to be inside you."

He circles his thumb against it before slightly pushing in, the boy yelping at the feeling while Druitt flushed at the heat. His boy was so tight, he could barely press the rest of his thumb in. Soon enough he had succeeded, smiling at the cute whines that came from the boy as he wiggled his hips.

Taking out his thumb he watched the boy relax, adding lotion to three fingers before quickly inserting two of them inside. The boy's eyes widened from the pain of the sudden stretch, his gasp choked off in his throat as the finger began a harsh pace in and out of him.

He kicked his feet uselessly, wanting to get away from the feeling but his world became unsteady the more he moved and doing much of anything was a struggle. A third finger was added and his back arched, the pain doubling as it shot up his spine.

Tears were running down his face as he clenched the sheets in his hands, forced to ride out the rough pace the man was setting. Druitt looked down at the boy, watching with a smirk as his fingers vanished and appeared from the tight hole.

"You're taking me so well, Baby Bird. It's as though this was made to be." He gives a cruel chuckle before curling his fingers, making the boy choke as he feels a sudden rush of pleasure rush through him.

As he pulled his fingers out he felt the hole clench down, attempting to keep them in. His eyes widened at the sight before a savage grin made its way on his face. "You seemed to quite enjoy that, perhaps I should give you more if that's what you need."

He plunged his fingers back in and began to circle his prostate viciously, not letting up as the boy spammed. Moans spilled from the boy's mouth as his eyes clenched shut, his body felt as though lightning was constantly running through him.

Quickly a heat built up in his stomach making him try to curl his legs to his stomach, though Druitt's tight hold didn't allow this. Instead his body tensed up as a strangled yell escaped his lips, releasing onto his stomach as Druitt's abuse slowed to a stop.

Finally he pulled out his fingers, he used his hold on the boy to drag him toward the edge of the bed. He stood up so his pelvis was flush against his ass, grinding against him for a second as the new placement made (m/n) extremely woozy and unable to even speak.

The Viscount undid his pants and moans as his painfully throbbing cock finally sprung free. He rubbed it between the boy's cheeks, the head rubbing against the hole before sliding away.

The boy sighed in relief before he felt it return, this time sliding between his thighs, precum helping the slide. He only did a few thrusts before he slid back so the head rubbed the trembling boy's little hole.

Circling it for a second to tease the boy he finally lost his patience. Giving a large thrust he pressed his cock in until he completely bottomed out, not allowing the boy to get used to the feeling.

Hot white pain shot through the boy as his mouth hung open, loud stuttered gasps leaving him as he desperately clawed at the bedsheets. A loud moan left the Viscount, almost losing himself in the tight heat he was afraid he would cum too soon.

Not wanting to stop so soon, he paused. Instead he leaned forward to attack the boy's chest, ignoring the boy's cry of pain at the uncomfortable position his legs were in.

He didn't let up until both of the boy's nipples were perked and bruised. Finally feeling ready to start he set a fast pace.

"We're finally connected my Baby Bird, the way your body is squeezing around me is positively divine." He groaned out, the slap of their hips meeting echoing in the room.

(M/n)'s head was thrown back, mumbling words of protest that were cut off with each thrust. He felt as though his insides were constantly being dragged out of him and the pain was almost enough for the already spinning world to fade to black.

Unfortunately he wasn't even allowed the privilege of passing out, as the Viscount always made sure the boy was brought out of it if he drifted off with harsh thrusts to his overstimulated prostate.

Druitt's cock twitched as he began to reach his end. "Did you feel it? I'm so close to my end. Please Baby Bird, allow me to release my everything inside you. I need to claim you as my own."

He moved his hand to stroke under the boy's belly button, faintly able to feel the shift of himself moving in the boy. Groaning his eyes narrowed and he felt himself grow even harder at the feeling. He looked into (m/n)'s half lidded eyes with a growl.

"I can feel our connection, can you feel it, My Sweet? No… then I'll help you." He grabbed the boy's hand to press it against his stomach, making the boy feel what was happening as he set a brutal pace, slamming into the boy as hard as he could.

"You're close too right?! I'm going to release my essence into you and claim you as mine!" He moaned out as his hips stuttered before they stopped flushed against the boy's ass, his semen flowing into the boy, overflowing until the pearly cum leaked out of his hole as Druitt pulled out.

The boy had also come a second time, though mainly just from the constant abuse to his prostate. The man finally released the boy's legs so they hanged limply over the edge of the bed.

The Viscount stretched for a second before smiling down at the boy, brushing some hair out of the boy's face before picking him up.

The boy was now completely unconscious, the toll to his body too much for him to take. Druitt made his way to the bathroom, ready to wash up so his Baby Bird was clean and ready for their next love making session.

"Ah Baby Bird, how lucky I am to have captured you."

Chapter 8: Stay in Ballroom

>Stay in Ballroom

"I don't think that would be a good idea, Master already said he had a plan. We shouldn't interfere with that." The girl gave him a glare and stomped her foot, "there's no need to be a killjoy. I'm not gonna listen to some kid when this could be my chance to finally start my dream of a harem. If you won't help me, I'll just do it myself."

Not giving him time to respond she spun on her heel and marched through the crowd, disappearing almost instantly in the sea of dresses and suits. He wanted to go after her to make sure she didn't get into trouble, but it was too late as the manor was very large and trying to navigate it for the first time would be difficult enough.

Trying to assure himself that things would be fine he stayed where he was, declining the occasional dance offer as he waited for his Master or Sebastian to fetch him.

He didn't have to wait too long as about a half hour later he felt a hand on his shoulder. Slightly startled he looked over his shoulder at the glasses wearing raven.

"It's time for us to retire from this party, the Young Master and Lady (F/n) are already at the manor." Confused as to why the two had already left, (M/n) trails behind Sebastian to leave the party.

When they got to the carriage (M/n) moved to sit with the butler, surprising the demon who had already taken his place at the reins.

"Are you sure you wouldn't rather ride in the carriage, (M/n)? It's been a long night and you'll be able to rest as we ride back." The (h/c) haired boy shook his head," I'd prefer to be up here, if that's alright with you. It's too lonely all alone in the carriage, but if you want to be alone as you steer I totally understand."

The boy became flustered as he realized he hadn't even considered Sebastian, but the demon simply chuckled as he rubbed the boy's hair. "I don't mind at all, (M/n)."

Getting the OK, the boy took a seat next to the man, watching as he led the horses along the road. He chatted quietly about random things to fill the silence, trying to fight off his exhaustion as his eyes slipped close every so often.

After a few minutes he lost the battle as he slumped against Sebastian, out cold.
The butler looked down at the snoozing servant, an amused smirk growing on his face as he felt the boy curl up to his side.

By the time they get to the manor the boy had tried to cuddle as close as he could to the demon, his head buried in the raven's neck as he clutched the black tailcoat in his sleep.

_______________

The day after (M/n) was surprised to see the top headline on the paper as he stood behind his master. Jack the Ripper had struck again.

Chapter 9: Chapter 7

Chapter Text

Once again, (M/n) found himself cleaning the library. He was pondering his Master's recent bad mood after the Viscount's proven 'innocence'. With him being their only suspect, things had gotten much harder.

(M/n) was happy that his Master's aunt was trying to get him to relax at least, though his Master didn't seem too keen wasting his time playing chess. One of the reasons the servant had made a hasty retreat as the relatives started to bicker, apparently the earl had decided to resort to cheating to ease his aggravation.

He continued to clean until he had finally finished the whole library, a monstrous task but one he enjoyed as the room was very peaceful to him. Especially since (F/n), who has gotten rather snappy at the boy since the Viscount's party, avoided the room most of the time.

So lost in his thoughts he was shocked when he realized the sun was setting as he looked out the window. The room was a dim orange as the boy quickly gathered up his supplies to get ready for bed.

Gathering the duster and rags he had used he was almost ready to leave before a hand came down on his shoulder, startling a gasp out of the servant and almost causing him to drop the cleaning supplies in his arms.

Turning he sighed in relief and smiled gently, "Sebastian, you startled me… uh, are you alright?" His smile dropped in concern when he saw the serious look on the butler's face. However when the red eyed man saw his worries a quick smile crossed his face as he removed his hand.

"I'm alright, it seems as though the Young Master has found a new lead on the Jack the Ripper case. We will be leaving to pursue it later on tonight." (M/n) was surprised at the news, but happy and proud that his Master had been able to find another lead even when there seemed to be nothing.

"That's amazing! I'm sure you'll be able to get him, as long as it is him this time." They had started to walk down the hall so (M/n) could put away the supplies but he halted when he realized that Sebastian had suddenly stopped.

"I'm afraid you may have misunderstood, (M/n). You and Miss (F/n) will be joining as well, as she insisted she must." (M/n) was confused as to how he was needed, surely he would just get in the way.

He was also concerned as to why (F/n) wanted to be involved in the case so badly. But he knew she probably wouldn't take no for an answer, she never did, so he conceded.

______________

The ride to their destination was uneventful, though (F/n) seemed to vibrate with excitement in her seat, which (M/n) found strange. What was also odd was that his master was wearing very light clothes made of cheap material, despite the impending scent of rain. He just hoped Ciel didn’t end up catching a cold after this was over.

After reaching their destination everyone stepped out into the desolate street. Something about the cold air and dark lonely atmosphere reminded him of a night that now felt so long ago, the night he was forced to leave his world with no way to return.

Desperate to get away from the awful feeling (M/n) looked around to see if there was anything to occupy his troubled mind. His eyes looked onto a small lump on the street that seemed to be moving. Forcing his eyes to focus through the darkness he gasped when he realized the lump was a black cat, huddled against one of the buildings to refuge from the cold.

He quickly ran over and took off the jacket he had worn, placing it over the cat to try and help her in some way. Sebastian had also come over and was enthralled with the creatures, while Ciel was huffing about how they were straying from the case and not to be distracted so easily.

Satisfied the cat seemed healthy and happy to snuggle into the warm jacket (M/n) left the feline to try and cheer up his master. But as he was making his way over he froze as a bone chilling scream rang through the previously quiet night.

Everyone took off towards the distressed sound when the opened door of a building came into view. Not waiting for the culprit to make a hasty escape, Ciel immediately barged through the door. His body froze from whatever he saw inside and (M/n) heard a shocked gasp from his master.

Sebastian pulled the earl away from the scene with a hand over his eyes, but it was clear the damage had been done as bile hit the pavement in front of the boy's shoes. Ignoring as a sudden downpour hit the area (M/n) immediately rushed to the two and tried to soothe him by rubbing his back, Sebastian removed his jacket and placed it over the earl’s head before stepping towards the building.

So focused on trying to calm his master’s shaking he didn’t hear as (F/n) said something towards the hidden perpetrator. His body froze when he heard a familiar voice reply, however. A voice that was supposed to be far away from this area, a voice that belonged to someone he had believed to be his friend.

“You really know how to ruin an entrance, don’t you, Girly. I was so excited for this moment and you just go and expose everything immediately, how rude can you be?” The murderer stepped out of the shadows glaring at (F/n), his being drenched in blood though he didn’t seem fazed by it at all.

The familiar face of Grell Sutcliff made (M/n)’s stomach drop in dread and it felt like just breathing was a challenge. He didn’t realize he’d gone from rubbing his master’s back to desperately clutching at his vest until he was tugged and his head was hidden in his master’s neck.

He felt so weak, he was supposed to be comforting the earl but instead had to be calmed instead. It seemed that holding the (h/c) haired boy was helping though, as he had stopped shaking and was currently glaring down the blood covered reaper.

“Oh please, as if you were fooling anyone. It would’ve all been said anyways, I was simply saving time cause I wanna see the fight happen.” (F/n) had her arms crossed over her chest, clearly upset that the butler had said something bad about her. The girl’s statement just seemed to rile him up as he gave an irritated huff.

Peeking out he tried to see the two from behind Sebastian, watching in shock as the man growled and ripped the bow out of his hair. His long brown hair quickly chased away by scarlet until none of the original color was there at all, as if it had always been red to begin with.

That wasn’t the only thing that changed as (M/n) realized Grell’s teeth were razor sharp as he smirked murderously at (F/n), pushing his red glasses into place as he glanced at the people who had caught him. “I must say it is refreshing to talk in my real form after so long. Though the fun’s been spoiled it’s only right for a lady to properly introduce herself, I’m the Burnett butler, Grell Sutcliff. Let’s get along!”

She blew a kiss and winked at Sebastian, who shuddered at the unwanted affection. “Though I am shocked that a demon was playing as a butler as well, not to mention the nosy brat that can apparently see the future.” (F/n) scowled at the description and stuck her tongue out at the redhead.

“Keep talking like that and I’ll end your future, bitch!” Grell gasped in outrage and nearly lunged at the girl when his name was called sharply from someone within the building. (M/n) felt the color drain from his face as Madame Red stepped out of the building behind Grell. It wasn’t possible, why would she be a part of this? His legs trembled as a new wave of hurt hit him, not just for himself, but for his master as well.

It felt like he was drowning in the feeling until he heard an odd rumbling rip through his thoughts and he watched as a red chainsaw was aimed straight for his master’s head. Not thinking of anything but getting himself and the earl out of danger he used his hold on Ciel to spin out of the way of the blade.

Making sure to protect the back of the earl’s head they crashed against the wall and (M/n) quickly moved so his body covered the young lord’s incase of any other attacks, a hard feat since they were both the same size.

He watched as Sebastian pushed the chainsaw away from them and the redhead backed off towards Madame Red once again. “Why on earth does he have a chainsaw?” He wondered but heard a scoff come from the side, “That’s his reaper’s scythe (M/n). You could at least try to keep up.”

It appeared this upset Grell greatly, ”Don’t you dare call it that! This is so much more than a scythe! I worked very hard to customize it.” (F/n) simply rolled her eyes at the upset redhead and it made Grell rant even more. “I made this death scythe on my very own, It’ll hack anyone into tiny pieces.” She sighed as she played with one of the chainsaw teeth.

“I’ve been far too well behaved, I’m getting out of shape. Perhaps we could play and get out all these… frustrations~” For once her eyes locked onto (M/n)’s and she smirked and fluttered her eyelashes at him causing the boy to tense as an indignant flush rose to his cheeks. The redhead chuckled at the sight as her eyes darkened. “You're so pretty like that darling, I could only imagine how pretty you’d be covered in red. You’d look absolutely ravishing, I’m sure.”

(M/n) gaped as the reaper growled at him, revving the chainsaw between her legs in an incredibly vulgar way. Thankfully Sebastian stepped between the two, the glare in his red eyes terrifying in a way (M/n) had never seen before.

“You’re a grim reaper. Your job is to quietly harvest the souls of the dying, and as a butler, your job is to follow your master like a shadow. You have failed both of these expectations. And, quite frankly, I find it sickening” The venom dripping off the butler’s words made (M/n)’s spine tingle.

The reaper did not have the same reaction however, a playful smirk splitting across her face. “Oh Bassy, how you wound me. You know, I’m more deadly efficient than I seem.” She struck a pose as if to enhance her statement.

Feeling movement against him the boy jolted and turned his head back towards the earl, who he realized had been watching him for who knows how long. Ciel brought his hand to the patch that covered his right eye.

“In my name and that of the queen, I order you, Sebastian.” He stared (M/n) in the eyes as he lifted the white patch to reveal the purple contract symbol that shined with the impending order. “Put an end to them.”

Chapter 10: Chapter 8

Chapter Text

“Indeed, my young lord.” As Sebastian adjusted his glove, (M/n) knew the fight was on as the loud whir of the chainsaw filled the air. Wondering if he could convince his master to move to a safer place so he wouldn’t get hurt, he paused as he heard the sound of footsteps towards them.

Glancing behind him he saw Madame Red racing towards them with a dagger raised above her head, her eyes filled with madness. Ready to protect the earl in any way he could, he was flabbergasted as he watched (F/n) tackle the women to the ground. The Madame was clearly just as surprised, though it didn't take too long for her to recover before she began fighting back against the girl.

(M/n) instantly became anxious and instinctively went to help his childhood friend, but realized he couldn’t as an arm around his waist kept him anchored to his master. “My Lord please, (F/n) could get hurt, we need to help her!” His frantic tone and attempts to dislodge the arm did nothing as Ciel kept him in place.

”If I let you go, the one getting hurt will be you. With Madame Red waving that knife around and those two fighting do you really expect to get there safely?” His master said harshly as he grabbed the boy’s chin and forced him to look back and make eye contact with the earl. ”You are not allowed to get involved in any of the fighting, you will remain by my side until Jack the Ripper has been dealt with. That is an order, (M/n). Do you understand?”

Tense and unable to look away from the stern multicolored eyes because of the hold on his chin, (M/n) gave a small reluctant nod as he quietly agreed, “I understand, My Lord.”

Satisfied, the earl finally released his chin and allowed the boy to drop his head against his shoulder. His eyes closed in resignation but his body refused to relax as the sound of struggling rang in his ears.

Everything changed when a loud scream came from behind him, a scream he knew could only be (F/n). He felt his master’s grip on him tighten, but didn't pay it any mind as his head snapped towards the sound. Seeing (F/n) lying on the ground motionless felt as though everything had stopped and his blood had gone cold, he simply couldn't comprehend the sight as he blankly watched Madame Red slowly stand and push the girl onto her back.

It was clear to see now that the knife had pierced through her shoulder, the girl gasped and tried to curl around the wound to stop any extra pain from coming. Madame Red was faster though, grabbing the dagger and yanking it out of the sobbing girl. With that done it seemed she didn't care that the girl wasn't completely dead as she turned towards the two boys once again.

Overwhelmed with the need to both go and help (F/n) but also to stay and protect his master, he was shocked to feel himself pushed to the side by the earl. Landing roughly on the stone road he tried to stand. He gasped when he saw that Madame Red had already grabbed Ciel by the throat with the bloody dagger already raised to bring an end to the earl.

“Master!” Sebastian shouted, though he couldn’t move without causing himself severe harm from Grell’s scythe.

When suddenly, she stopped. It was as if the fight left her completely as she backed away from the earl and buried her head in her hands. “I can’t, I can’t kill him.” A shadow blanketed her as Sebastian moved in to take advantage of the hesitation, only stopping when Ciel gave a sudden order to not kill her.

Everything seemed to still in the alleyway as heavy breathing and sobs filled the air. (M/n) quietly made his way to (F/n) and knelt down beside her, trying to calm her as she desperately clutched at the folds of his shirt while tightly pressing her other hand to her wound.

Gently moving her hand out of the way he removed his shirt and pressed it against the gushing wound, making her put pressure on the wound as he tried to stay aware of his surroundings to make sure they weren’t attacked.

As he began to move (F/n) closer to the wall a little ways from Ciel, he heard the sickening sound of the chainsaw tearing through cloth and flesh. He collapsed against the wall with his shivering friend in his arms and could only watch as Madame Red fell to the ground while showering the pavement in blood, right in front of her nephew's eyes.

Even more shocking was when glowing rolls of film burst from the wound, curling through the alleyway displaying pictures of a young Madame Red, her past was on display.

He felt so invasive watching her past unfold, finding out of her young love for Ciel’s father, to the accident which took her child and husband, to the moment she met the crimson reaper after doing such an evil deed. He couldn’t even imagine how the young earl must feel about all this and it made his heart clench terribly.

When it was finally done he let his head hang in grief for the lady, but jerked as he heard Grell comment on her undeservingness to wear red. What was worse was she took the red coat of the Madame’s cooling body and slipped it on as if it rightfully belonged to her.

He watched silently as his master placed his hand over the Madame's eyes to close them for the final time. ” Well, what are you waiting for?” (M/n) shuddered at the cold tone, and even Sebastian seemed stunned. “I thought I ordered you to put an end to Jack the Ripper. It’s not over yet. One is left. Stop standing there and kill him!”

It was quiet until a smirk spread across Sebastian’s face, “Certainly.” (M/n) hunched over (F/n) as he heard Grell chuckle, having a feeling the fight had only just begun. “I was going to spare you. Professional courtesy and all that, but if you insist. I’ll send you all to Heaven together!”

She made a wide slash of her chainsaw at Sebastian who ducked under the attack. “Heaven? Why you must be joking.” The butler stood on the raised scythe and stared down at the outraged reaper, “I know nothing of heaven.” The demon sent a direct kick towards Grell’s face which the reaper was able to dodge. “You would kick a lady in the face?! Where are your manners, Sir?”

The redhead waved the chainsaw angrily at the man who just antagonized her further, telling her he would win at all odds because his master had ordered him to. The two started to attack each other, but (M/n) only watched as his master knelt before the now deceased Madame Red, covering her body in the coat Sebastian had given him.

He wanted so badly to move over to comfort his master, but he wasn't sure if it was his place to do so. (M/n) tensed as the earl suddenly looked his way, a sharp look in his heterochrome eyes making him feel incredibly small.

“(M/n), the fight between Madame Red is over now and I believe you had an order to stay by my side. Do I need to repeat it?” Quickly shaking his head, he gently gathered (F/n) in his arms and rushed to Ciel’s side. Their sides brushed together and the (h/c) haired boy was relieved that his master was relatively safe and unharmed.

He maintained pressure on (F/n)’s wound and wondered how things were going to go at the manor, (F/n) would definitely need immediate medical attention if she wanted to make a full recovery. It seemed things were going well in the fight when suddenly the red reaper came hurtling from a roof straight towards them.

Not having enough time to do anything except gasp, he was relieved when Sebastian redirected the redhead to hit the pavement in front of them instead. Though he couldn't help the small amount of pity that rose in him as he watched Sebastion prepare to finish the reaper with her own scythe.

The reaper was begging for mercy under the foot of the demon who was visibly reveling in the cries. “Oh, please stop! Don’t kill me!” Her groans got loader the more they were ignored as the butler ground her head against the pavement. As Sebastian got the ok from Ciel he raised the scythe, causing the desperate reaper to become frantic.

“I’ll tell you who killed the boy’s parents!” Her fearful offer floored (M/n) who instantly turned his widened eyes to Ciel seeing a similar look of shock on his face as well. Sebastian didn’t seem to care about the reaper’s words though as he brought down the scythe, only for it to grind to a halt slightly above Grell’s crumpled body.

A thin pole had stretched from the roof to the pavement, blocking the chainsaw from ending the life of the crumpled redhead. Looking up he saw that the pole had come from a man so high above the alleyway he looked more like a shadow. “I apologize for interrupting.” The man said before retracting the pole back to him. “Let me introduce myself. I am William T. Spears, an administrator at the Grim Reaper Staffing Association.”

Though it was hard to tell exactly what was happening, (M/n) could see that the new reaper had a book in hand. He adjusted his glasses with what the boy assumed was his scythe and continued on while staring down at them.

“I’ve come to retrieve that reaper there.” Grell perked up at the words, happy to be safe of Sebastian’s murderous clutches. “William! Oh William, you’ve come to save me!”

The black haired reaper jumped down from his perch on the roof, landing directly on to the back of the red woman’s head. Her face slammed back to the gravel as she groaned in pain.

The reaper stayed there as he opened his book and moved his scythe, which (M/n) was now able to see was an extendable garden pruner, to his side.

“Attention, reaper Grell Sutcliff. You have violated several regulations. First you killed people not on the To-Die list. Second, you used a death scythe that had been modified without authorization. And finally, you offered someone strictly classified information regarding the identity of hie relative’s murderer”

He stomped his heel on the redhead at the end of his cold words, the red reaper giving another groan of pain.

He then bowed to Sebastian and gave him a card, though he also insulted the demon while doing so which resulted in Sebastian insulting the other as well. The reaper scoffed and glanced back toward the Madame and Ciel, his green eyes widening in shock when he saw (M/n) clutching (F/n) next to the two.

“You two are the humans from the other world, I will need you to come with me at once back to the association.” (M/n) tensed as the reaper made a step towards him, lightly tightening his grip around the now unconscious girl in his arms. He felt the earl remove himself from the older boy’s side to move forward and shield the two from the reaper’s gaze, glaring fiercely at the man while doing so.

The reaper continued to make his way across the alley until Sebastian blocked him, appearing directly in the way of him and the world changing duo. The pavement under him was slightly cracked and his gloved hand was clenched at his side.

I believe you were in the middle of something, perhaps you should worry about the problems you already have before starting new ones.” His words were light but his tone held a sharp edge as he aimed a dark look at the man, who paused before coming to a full stop.

“I suppose the matter can wait until this matter settles. However, those two will eventually have to come to the association to decide the best course of action.”

The reaper’s eyes met his (e/c) ones and he felt the urge to shrink in on himself, he pushed it done though as he needed to ask. ”Do you know if there is any way to get back to our world?”

He was able to say the words steadily, but he knew that after so long his gaze had to be pleading to the man who looked surprised that he had even spoken at all. The reaper regarded him briefly before turning and making his way back to Grell. “I myself am not sure, such a thing has never happened before. I cannot say anymore on the matter. Let us go, Grell.”

He grabbed the long red hair of the reaper and began to drag her behind him, taking a few steps before a chainsaw nearly clocked him from behind. He easily caught it between his pointer and middle finger and gave a glance back towards the smug demon.

“I believe you’ll be needing that back.” The butler said smoothly as he lowered his arm, the reaper gave a simple thank you before dropping the scythe onto the battered red reaper who gave a yelp.

As the reapers left the alley, (M/n) couldn’t bring himself to feel relief that the Jack the Ripper case had finally come to an end.

______________

Though it had only been a short time since they left, it felt like he was seeing the manor for the first time in an eternity. He was currently seated on the earl’s bed, as Ciel decided to watch him to make sure he didn’t hover around Sebastian as he tended to (F/n).

He kept his eyes on his knees, everything from the night repeating in his mind on loop to the point he felt he was going insane. “(M/n).” He jolted as he was brought out of the dark thoughts, turning his eyes towards his master. The earl had been watching him from the vanity chair, getting up to instead take a seat next to the servant on the bed.

He untied the patch and placed it on the nightstand before attempting to do the same with his shoes. (M/n) instantly kneeled in front of the lord to do it for him as the earl looked down at him.

“I understand that the case didn’t go as expected, but in this kind of work you can not allow such a thing to get to you.” The boy froze as he was putting the shoes to the side, “I know, My Lord. I just..” He couldn’t go on as a tear hit his hand, realizing his eyes had welled up despite his attempts to stop them.

He quickly bowed his head and attempted to back away before his arm was grabbed and he was yanked back. His small sobs increased to the point he could feel himself hyperventilating and his entire being wanted to crawl out of his skin. He attempted to apologize to his master in mostly incoherent rambling, about his failure to control himself, his inability to protect, for the death of his aunt, for disobeying an order.

It felt as though everything had fallen apart so quickly, a single night had left him feeling broken beyond repair. The thought of going through this again, not to mention multiple times, made his panic grow so bad he wanted to just run, anywhere, everywhere.

He pressed his head into his master’s stomach and wrapped his arms around his waist to grasp at the back of his shirt. His master, who had been surprised at the outburst, attempted to try and calm the boy down before he managed to harm himself.

He ran one hand through the quivering (h/c) locks as his other arm wrapped around his shoulders, drawing the boy closer till his upper half rested against the earl and the boy had his face now buried in the other's chest. Drenching the front of his vest and shirt.

Slowly he was able to calm the boy from the quick breathy sobs to quiet whimpering that made the boy feel slightly mortified at the lack of control he had of his emotions.

With the absence of his tears came an exhaustion like he'd never felt before, as if even moving a finger would be more like lifting a boulder. His head also felt like it was being split apart by a hammer, overall everything felt set against him.

Somehow he and his Lord managed to get back on the bed, both laying against the pillows with (M/n) burying his head in his master's neck. They had their arms wrapped around each other and finally (M/n) felt safe and his panic slowly calmed.

"I'm so sorry Master. Even being the only one unharmed I still manage to be disgraceful, I'm not sure what got a hold of me. I guess I'm still slightly in… disbelief of how everything turned out." He breathed shakily against the earl, who remained silent with rubbing circles against the servant’s back.

Relaxing he began to give into the bone-numbing exhaustion when he felt his shoulder the earl was pressed against become slightly damp. It was then he noticed the earl’s body shaking, so minimal he almost felt like he was imagining it despite feeling it himself.

His eyes welled up again, but this time he was able to keep the tears mostly at bay as he hugged his silently crying lord. The two fell asleep comforting each other from the unfairness of the world.

Chapter 11: Chapter 9

Summary:

I have a job again, I just hope nothing else goes wrong. Though I've been wondering if I should switch to quotev.

Chapter Text

It had been a few days since the case, which (M/n) had spent in his master’s room. Despite asking to be able to go back to his room multiple times, the earl was adamant that he needed constant watch as he ‘recovered.’

Recovered from what? He asked, but the earl’s response was always that his emotions could be dangerous if left alone.

It didn't help that for a few days he ran a slight fever, being shirtless and soaked on a cold night in an alley tends to make you a little under the weather apparently.

While it wasn’t too bad as he got to spend time and bond with his master, he was still upset as he wasn’t able to work or see (F/n) until this recovery time ended.

Every once in a while, Sebastian would enter the room and update them about the girl's recovery, which did help ease his nerves slightly. What it didn't help with was his need to move, or at least do something other than lay in bed all day.

Eventually, after quite a bit of pleading, he was able to get permission to take a walk through the garden. With Ciel there to watch over him, of course. After so long inside, taking a deep breath of fresh air was long overdue. The sweet and light scents of the garden instantly brightened his mood.

The stroll was pleasant, with (M/n) taking pictures on his phone every so often of the flowers and landscaping for inspiration to paint with later. So caught up in the outdoors he had forgotten his master was with him until the earl cleared his throat to get his attention.

When he turned back he saw the boy staring at him with a serious expression, causing the servant to worry. “Is something the matter, My Lord?” The earl seemed to think for a bit before responding.

“Tomorrow Sebastian and I will be out for the day to attend the funeral of Madame Red. If you wish to visit Lady (F/n) during that time you may do so, but refrain from cleaning as the servants will tell me if you have neglected your recovery.”

(M/n) deflated slightly at the order, but understood his master was simply looking out for him. He was also happy to finally be able to check on his childhood friend, though he had a feeling they knew he would try his hardest to visit her anyway without them there to stop him.

With a small happy smile, he thanked his master for informing him, asking if this meant that maybe he’d be able to return to his room after. The request was instantly shot down.
______________

The Phantomhive manor and its residents were somber as the day of the funeral began. (M/n) curled up around a pillow on his side of the bed, watching silently as his master and Sebastian finished getting ready.

The earl grabbed a red dress from the vanity, a farewell gift for his aunt. Letting out a small sigh he turned to the (h/c) haired boy, making sure their eyes met so he had his full attention.

"(M/n), if one of the reapers trespasses or is seen near the manor, let the servants deal with them."

The servant nodded and Ciel seemed satisfied, making his way out of the manor with Sebastian for the day. (M/n) stayed there for a while longer before finally forcing himself to get up and get ready for the day. He finally had a chance to see (F/n) after all, and he didn't plan on wasting this opportunity.

As he crossed the doorway into his friend's he instantly had to duck as a pillow flew where his head was seconds before.

“About time you visited, Asshole! Not that I didn't enjoy having alone time with Sebastian, but considering I helped in trying to save your asses I thought you'd at least be fucking grateful!” She huffed as she put her good arm back on her waist, a glare level on the boy coming closer to the bed with the weaponized pillow.

“Yeah yeah, I get it and I'm sorry. But it's not as if I haven't tried, you know? The young lord and Sebastian haven't even let me leave the room since the case ended.”

The glare lightened before she shut her eyes and sighed loudly, flopping her head dramatically on the mattress. (M/n) rolled his eyes at his friend's antics and dropped the pillow on her face, making her sputter and she batted it off.

He checked over the wound and was glad to see it was beginning to heal, (F/n) also seemed to be very proud as she said how badass of a scar it was going to leave. They talked quite a bit about nothing in particular, the familiarity of it made (M/n) ache for his home world.

It was getting dark when Sebastian entered the room, stopping when he saw the two sleeping friends. (F/n) was tucked in up to her chin with her head surrounded with pillows, (M/n) must have pillaged the linen closet.

The servant mentioned was sprawled out over her blanketed legs, his legs hanging off the edge of the bed and his head pillowed on a bunched-up section of (F/n)’s blanket. His satchel had been tossed across the room along with his shoes and his pants had been replaced with a pair of soft shorts.

The butler stood for a second before collecting himself and making his way to the bed. Carefully he picked up the boy, making sure neither were startled out of their sleep before making his way back to his Master's room.

His Master was getting into bed when he arrived, his face twisting in confusion at seeing the sleeping boy in the raven's arms.

“It seems as though the two talked themselves into exhaustion while we were away.” He quietly explained as he tucked the boy in next to the earl. The earl didn't say anything but his face showed clear distaste, though it cleared as the servant next to him shifted and got comfortable snuggled into a pillow.

Ciel sighed as he also settled into the bed after dismissing the butler, the day had been an exhausting affair and all he wished for was to slip into a deep sleep. He turned so he was face to face with (M/n), watching the boy's body move with his deep breaths and copying them. After a short time of matching their breathing together, he felt his eyes become heavy and did not attempt to fight them closing as he welcomed his well-deserved rest.
______________

It’s been about a month now, and it had overall been uneventful. A little over a week after the funeral (M/n) had finally convinced his master he was ready to return to his own room. The earl reluctantly agreed, though mentioned maybe they should move the servant to a room across from Ciel.

The idea insulted the boy and he told the young earl he was not a child that needed supervision. Luckily he was able to keep his room as it was, but he had a feeling the earl was just waiting for a moment to change that.

(F/n) had also recovered quickly, and though she was not fully healed yet she was once again making her presence known in the manor. He was glad to see his friend energetic again after being persistently haunted by the memory of the time he had turned to see her motionless and lying limp on the pavement road.

Everything had pretty much gone to how it had been before the case. The servants making comically disastrous mistakes, Sebastian having to go back to fix them, Ciel setting back the demon more by asking for sweets at inopportune times. (F/n) back to attempting to make everyone fall for her. It was peaceful.

Until one day, when Sebastian brought in a small white letter with the royal seal. Ciel hadn’t quite explained it, just saying they were going to a resort courtesy of the queen. It didn't take long to be packed up and on carriages heading towards the vacation site.
(F/n) and Sebastian were leading the first carriage that held Ciel and (M/n), while Tanaka led the second where the other servants rode. (M/n) had first attempted to stay with his fellow workers, but his master had put a quick stop to it and dragged him to the first to sit beside him. The other servants wishing him well and to make sure to keep the young lord safe and entertained.

It was an uneventful journey, besides the servants singing at the top of their lungs in gratitude and excitement for the vacation. The road turned a bit bumpy even with Sebastian leading the carriage, but it felt more like a gentle rocking than harsh jolts.

As they got closer to their destination the scenery began to change as well. Full green trees and large fields left behind in exchange for boulders and an ominous feeling in the air. With the top of the carriage down (M/n) had been hoping to see beautiful sights away from his home, but was quickly realising that was probably not happening this time.

The gloomy atmosphere did nothing to the happy cheers of the servants though, who only grew louder and sang praises as a old wooden sign that read ‘Welcome to Houndsworth’ came into view. A metal spiked collar hanging from it and many more hanging on trees nearby. Dog skulls littered the ground around them making (M/n) frown in worry.

Bard, Mey-rin, and Finny cried out in alarm at the uninviting entrance to the village they would be staying in. “Oh yes, I forgot to mention something. The resort that the Queen is planning has yet to be constructed.” The servants cried in dismay at the cruel trick, “yes Master.” The only one not sulking was Tanaka, who simply let out his usual laugh.

They made their way to the village through a heavy fog, the servants not moping for long even as thing began to look more dreary. (M/n) blinked as he caught sight of a lone woman on the side of the road, pushing a stroller though the grass. Finnian had also spotted her and stopped their carriage, jumping out to try and help the woman.

Knowing that could only end badly (M/n) shot up to try and stop the blond as their carriage stopped as well, but was blocked by Ciel just as quickly. “It will be fine, don’t bother with them.” He sat down to obey right as Finnian lifted the stroller into the air, once again forgetting about his strength. (M/n) and the other servants gasped as Finny realized and slammed the stroller back down.

The other servant quickly exited their carriage to check on the baby, reeling back when they discovered that what was inside the stroller was actually a dog’s skull. “There is no baby. There is no baby anymore, the child was eaten by it.” The elderly woman began to walk away, starting to sing a dark song as she followed the road.

“The white do is a good dog, a good dog, good. The black dog is a bad dog, a bad dog, bad. He’ll eat your flesh down to the bone…”
The stunned servants stood frozen in the road as they watched her walk away.

“That’s why we’re here. Apparently, a lot of villagers have been violently killed or gone missing. The village has shrunk to a third of it’s size in the last ten years. A part of my task is to find out why and put an end to the problem.” It was silent after the earl’s words except for the quiet voice of the woman who was still singing as she disappeared into the fog.

It was quiet for the rest of the ride until the small village finally came into view. Beside it was a beautiful large lake that lightened everyone’s spirits. Oi! It’s startin’ to look like a place worth stayin’!” Bard said as they stood and gaped at the pretty sight.

They made their way into Houndsworth, (M/n) glad to see things that weren't dead trees and rocks. Though he was upset to discover the sad state the village was in. He heard (F/n) outright scoff at the place and had to stop himself from scolding her for being rude once again.

It was a very noisy area with all the dogs around. They rode past multiple hounds in a building, a young man in front of it with a calmer dog than the others. He had the dog do a few tricks before giving it praise, the dog reveling in the attention of it’s owner.

“Oh my…! I’d let him pet me, yes I would, uh-huh!” (M/n) flushed at Mey-rin’s bold words and looked away from the man still praising the dog, Ciel smirking at the boy’s actions.

“He manipulates the creature with rewards and punishments. He commands the mutt’s obedience but… the dog isn’t blameless either. It fawns on it’s human and welcomes the chain on its neck, I can’t understand it.” The lead butler spoke as they pass by many villagers carrying tools and living out their lives, though (M/n)’s attention is caught by a crescent shaped wall off in the distance. What was that supposed to be?

“If you’re trying to get at something deeper, just say it.” The earl responds to Sebastian’s rambling, somewhere between annoyed and indifferent.

“No, it it nothing of importance, my lord. Simply that, while I love cats, I’m not especially fond of dogs.” The butler gave a closed-eyed smile. “To be completely frank, I hate them.”

It was silent for a second before Ciel broke it. “Woof.”

A surprised laugh escaped (M/n)’s lips before he quickly turned, biting his knuckle to stop any more.

They made it through the rest of the trip without issue, finally arriving at the manor they would be staying at during their time there. They were met by a pretty maid with light blue hair and violet eyes.

“I presume this is the Earl of Phantomhive?” With the confirmation from Sebastian she bowed and continued. “Welcome to Barrymore Castle… My master awaits your arrival.” She rose from her bow, her face serene and the very air around her seemed peaceful. With the look Sebastian was giving her however, (M/n) had a feeling the lady couldn’t be trusted.

The servants were instantly smitten with the woman, especially Finny. (M/n) could just about see hearts in his eyes as he stared at the maid. (F/n) had the opposite reaction of the gardener, (M/n) wasn’t sure if he’d seen her glare at someone so hatefully before, which had not going unnoticed by the timid maid who shrunk under the proverbial daggers.

They made their way inside, (M/n) sticking close to his master’s side as he took in the wooden interior. The owner was definitely a fighter, though as they went deeper it seemed more accurate to pin him as a hunter. Swords and shields instead replaced with animal heads of what seemed to be the study. (M/n) and (F/n) followed after the earl and head butler into the mostly room.

The sharp sound of a whip cracked through the air followed by the maid’s pained scream. (M/n)’s head shot towards the noise in shock to find the woman kneeled down in front of a large man, who continued to whip her.

“Who the hell is this Chihuahua?! I told you to bring me the Queen’s Guard Dog when he arrived!” (M/n) felt frozen on the spot at the sudden violence, only snapped out when he heard a small noise. Looking back he saw (F/n) giggling behind her hand as she looked down at the maid, a smug smirk wide across her face.

Unbelieving his friend could be so cruel as to find joy in someone’s suffering, (M/n) didn’t even realize the whipping had stopped till he heard his master’s voice next to him.

“He’s acting on my orders.” Trying to focus on the situation and not think about what he just saw he turned back to the other’s, seeing Sebastian had moved and was now holding the man’s arm to prevent the whipping. “Who’re you?!” The man snarled towards the earl, who calmly stared back.

“From the sound of it, you have already received the letter I sent… My name is Ciel, the Earl of Phantomhive.” He sat at the table as the man ripped his arm from Sebastian’s grip, continuing to glare down at the boy.

“Do you mean to tell me a toy poodle like you is the Queen’s emissary?” (M/n) moved to be beside his master’s side, though the boy seemed to have everything under control and didn't seem perturbed about the situation at all. In fact, it seemed that he found amusement in the chaos of the moment.

“You don’t like small breeds, Lord Henry? Now that’s hardly fair.” (M/n) was worried that the man may lunge for him, but instead he stomped out of the room.

(M/n) couldn’t help but feel worried for his master staying in the manor of someone who both didn’t like him and seemed highly aggressive. But even after voicing his concerns the earl didn’t seem worried at all. (F/n) was oddly quiet, and looked to be plotting something which (M/n) knew couldn’t be good.

Luckily things calmed down and the man came back, instructing the maid to get things set for tea. The Lord, Earl, and (F/n) sat at the table as the maid brought in the tray with supplies. Seeing how shaky she was and that bruises were already forming on her hands, (M/n) asked the maid if he would be able to serve instead. With a look of surprise but also pleased gratitude she graciously handed over the tea tray which he set on the table. He first made the earl’s tea, which he could do blindfolded at this point.

When it came to the lord, however, he wasn’t sure if he should attempt to make it to his tastes or pour it and let the man add as he wish. Seeing the stern stare he was getting from the man, probably from taking the maid’s place, led him to trying the former.

Making the tea in a way he hoped the man would enjoy, he set the cup in front of the lord. Trying not to completely focus on the man as he tried the tea he took the tray, cautious in case the man threw a fit about his tea being completely wrong.

Luckily the outburst never came, and as he returned from cleaning up he saw that the man looked much calmer and pleased, his teacup already almost empty which seemed to shock his maid. The man leveled him with a new look as he made his way to his master, this one without menace but equally as unsettling.

Soon business talk began between the earl and lord, though it was more of a stalemate as Lord Henry refused to budge. Stating that a curse was what prevented the sale of the Barrymore Castle. Apparently anyone who interferes with the ways of the village would be cursed, which was quite an odd coincidence.

The man got more passionate as he spoke, standing from his seat. “Even the queen cannot lift the curse. Your mission is pointless… Anyone who acts against the wishes of the Barrymore family is destined to meet an unimaginably terrible end!”

Instead of being frightened by the damning words the earl looked intrigued. “My, how interesting.” The man seemed confused by the boy’s response but the earl simply smiled. “You’ve piqued my interest. I’d like to see this dreadful curse of yours, Lord Henry.”

The man man growled at the nonchalant reply to his threat, this clearly hadn’t been what he’d been expecting. Still, (M/n) didn’t like the earl making such a violent enemy. One that clearly wasn’t above harming others to stay in control. But he knew bringing it up to the young lord would be pointless, as the boy was confident to a fault that things would go his way.

Seeing the maid head out, he decided to do the same after getting permission from his master. Happy to be away from the tension and odd looks from the lord. Wanting to be nice and fill the silence he tried to make small talk with the maid as they went to find the other servants.

“Sorry to not introduce myself sooner, my name is (M/n) (L/n). It’s a pleasure to meet you ma'am.” He smiled kindly to the other, who seemed surprised he had talked to her at all. After the shock wore off she smiled brightly. “The pleasure is all mine! My name is Angela Blanc, I hope we get along during your time here.”

He relaxed as a pleasant atmosphere followed the introduction, asking small questions that she followed in kind to get to know each other. He learned that she was only one who worked for the Barrymore Castle, she had a puppy that she had found alone, and that she was apparently a bit clumsy. They soon made their way to the other servants where everyone was able to introduce themselves.

The others also offered to help Angela with things while visiting, which she seemed to appreciate. Their chat was cut short by the bedroom bell ringing, Angela quickly standing and excusing herself before running to serve her master. (M/n) was worried about what could happen to her, though a small smile crossed his face seeing Finny staring happily after the maid.

He decided to try and find (F/n), worried about how she had been acting since entering the castle. Panic set in as her room appeared empty and he didn’t come across her while checking the halls. A bit frantic he quickened his search as he began to recheck the castle, his soul nearly leaving his body as he nearly runs into the lord leaving his room.

His eyes widen in shock and slight fear he bowed to the startled man. “I’m so sorry Sir. I didn’t mean to startle you, I’m just trying to find my friend. I’m worried she may have gotten into trouble.” His voice trembled as he realized he might be more scared than he thought. He straightened when no response was given and tried to escape to speak to his master about the disappearance of (F/n), and to stay safe from the large man.

His hopes were dashed when he was caught by the arm. He yelps at the tight hold as he’s yanked back to the man, who stare down at him with the same look he had after the boy had served him tea. “How long have you worked for the Phantomhive?” Confused by the question he simply blinked at the man, wincing as the hand on his arm tightened at his lack of reply.

”Um, a… a few months, I think. It hasn’t been that long.” He was relieved as the hold loosened to a tolerable feeling. He looked up at the man to try and gauge how he was feeling not wanting to possibly set him off and get beaten. He realized he hadn’t really noticed how the man looked before, not surprising given the circumstances of their meetings.

The man was a bit odd looking, spiky dark gray hair and thick sideburns that created a bit of a mustache. As well as dark brown eyes that seemed to have a darkness in them that gave (M/n) chills as they stared into his.

It was silent for a second before he was finally released, though his relief was cut short by the slimy grin the lord wore. Not wanting to be caught again he scrambled out of the hallway to quickly get to his master.

He didn’t even knock before stumbling into the room, slamming the door behind him and finally allowing himself to relax. Ciel and Sebastian stood in silence at the display before the earl quickly made his way over to him.

“What’s wrong? Are you hurt?” Not wanting the boy to worry he quickly shook his head, trying to steady his breathing and the slight shaking of his limbs.

“I accidently ran across Lord Barrymore while looking for (F/n), have you seen her My lord?” Ciel ignored the question as he scanned the servant, knowing there was a possibility the boy was lying. Sebastian joined in and quickly found the large growing bruise encircling his upper arm.

Ciel scolded him as he was herded to the bed, much to the displeasure of the (h/c) haired boy. “Please, I need to find (F/n)! She isn’t in the castle and she was acting odd today.” His protests were met with a sigh from Ciel as the butler tended to his arm. “We will find her, you will rest here and recover from once again becoming injured. You will also remain in this room after sunset every night until we leave the village, and stay by my side the remainder of the stay.”

(M/n) was shocked by the sudden rules, but as he tried to speak a knock interrupted. They turned to the door and Ciel allowed the person to enter. The door opened revealing Angela, who seemed confused at the sight of (M/n) on the bed before the earl snapped at her to speak. She lowered her head respectfully with her hands clasped in front of her.

“I have a request to make. Leave the castle completely, you must’nt stay here.” Ciel didn’t seem interested in her words, but asked her to explain anyway. Which she promptly said she couldn’t. It seemed like the usually ‘leave now’ trick, which (M/n) knew his master wouldn’t pay mind to. A loud howl had him jolting in Sebastian’s hold, as well as startling the already panicked maid.

“No! The demon hound, It’s coming!” Her words finally got a reaction from the earl, who questioned what she was talking about. But the woman simply cried out in fear as a large shadow of a dog’s head flashed on the curtain. Ciel had Sebastian remove them to look out the window, spotting a glowing dog running through the street.

The village lit up as everyone realized what was happening and began to question who among them was the fallen. Ciel glanced over at the frightened boy on the bed, not sure if he should have him follow them outside or stay alone in the room. Making up his mind he made his way to the bed and helped up the boy.

“You are to stay by my side, that is an order.” The boy hesitantly nodded before they all made their way outside. (M/n)’s fear growing larger by the second, he knew that howl meant death…

And (F/n) was still missing.
