Chapter Text
The girls were back. Baby, Sporty, Scary & Ginger and they were more than ready for SpiceWorld 2019. Rehearsals were nearly done and they felt they've never been this close. Now that they're more grown up and mature, everything seems so much more.... joyous. They were doing this because they wanted to, not because they felt they had to and it felt amazing.
A few weeks before the tour was due to start, Mel B had an interview with Piers Morgan. This interview meant Mel had to be completely transparent about everything, which she has never had a problem with, but this time felt different. She had a bad feeling in her stomach about doing this and knew it wouldn't end well. She shrugged off the feeling and entered the interview with the confidence she always presents herself with, despite the fact she had Mel C in the audience in case she needed support this interview.
She took a deep breath as the interview commenced.
Mel B POV:
I was doing okay, it didn't feel as bad as I had prepared myself for. Everything felt okay but then the subject changed. Piers went on to talk about my past relationships/flings, which I didn't really care about. He could throw any name at me and I'd answer with dignified honesty, without a care in the world. Then I noticed a look in Piers eye as he started his next sentence.
'There's also been some rumours..'
I knew where this was heading and I knew there was no way I could get out of this. He continued his sentence but I wasn't really listening. That was until I heard that name come out of his mouth.
'Geri Halliwell?'
A knot formed in my stomach, I had to play it cool. I tried throwing a few jokes at Mel C who just responded with a chuckle followed by an eye roll. My pathetic attempt at dodging the questions was a drastic failure and I knew I had to admit it. A smile formed across my face as I slowly started nodding my head. I knew Geri was going to kill me. Mel C knew as well, I could see it in her face.
Readers POV:
After the interview ended Mel B ran backstage in a hurry, Mel C was nowhere to be seen in the audience which only panicked her more. She burst in to her dressing room to see all her friends. In a frenzy she was asking where Mel C has gone, all her friends said she'd went into the bathroom of the dressing room and told everyone to not come in, especially Mel. This led to a series of questions in Mel B's mind but instead she sat down and started ranting about Geri at 100mph. After her friends eventually calmed her down they see she's been composing a message to Geri.
'Hey Ginge, I just want to apologise in advance. You know I went on Life Stories?? Well here's the thing. Piers asked me if I had sex with you and I just couldn't lie. I told him we did ONCE and it was a long, long time ago. Please don't freak out, I clarified it was before your marriage and I definitely clarified that it was not a relationship. I love you so much G, please don't be mad.

Just as she was about to hit send, Mel C burst out the bathroom and jolts over to Mel B. She doesn't say a word but drags Mel back in to the bathroom with her.
'Melanie, what the fuck, I was just about to message G.'
'Mel, I know you want to message Geri but she phoned me straight away.'
Mel C sounded worried as she clutched her phone in her hand, clearly not wanting Mel to see whatever was on it.
'Melanie.. what did she say and why are you hiding your phone from me?'.
As she was edging closer to Mel C, desperate for answers, Mel C's grip on her phone became visibly tighter.
'She wasn't happy Mel, I think it's best if you call her. I can stay if you like.'
Mel B agreed and began to unlock her phone. She clicked on contacts and scrolled until she reached Geri, who was saved as 'My Ginger🩷'. She was so clearly in love with Geri that it hurt her. Mel C thought it was kind of weird, considering they only slept together once, but she didn't question as Mel is one of her closest friends. Mel B raised the phone to her ear and you could see when Geri answered because her eyes flashed with shock and uncertainty. Mel was quiet for about a minute, until she just burst out crying. Mel assumed Geri had just flipped out on her and went over to comfort Mel.
'So what did she say then Scary?'
