Chapter Text
When Vic heard of two super-powered animations that came out of nowhere and were going around destroying websites for fun, they were obviously frightened. Everybody was.
However, it was only when they saw footage on the news of them, he knew that it was more personal.
“They're made by Noogai.” they told Agent and Mitsi, who were in in the room also watching the news, when Vic spotted His identifying mark on The Dark Lord’s shoulder. A flaming cursor, in the same place as Vic's mark.
In Vic's mind, the only reason He would create more animations, super-powered animations, and to let them loose to cause distruction- could only be for one reason, and that reson only.
They had to prepare for the two terrorists to come after them.
Or…
Vic could go after them first.
-
During the following weeks after the destructive duo started their rampage on websites, Rocket Corp hired a research and development team to create tools for them to take down the two, capture them, and contain them.
They made several advancements and breakthroughs already in this short time. Using parts of discarded animation software to make tools they could use was one of Vic’s favorite things- but they were still early in development and not ready to be used, they had more important things to focus on.
Vic would make sure that Noogai wouldn't have the upper hand this time.
-
Mitsi knew she should've been home by now from her trip to the city, but she got distracted by some street cats that were so cute and friendly! So she obviously had to go buy some food for them, and when she stopped to talk to some of the friendly faces she recognized working there…
Needless to say, she got severrly sidetracked.
It was now getting dark out, and she hoped she remembered which parking garage she parked the car in. At this rate, she might have to call Vic and tell them she got lost…
Wait. Mitsi heard something.
There was crying in the alleyway. The cries of a child. She approached cautiously, "Hello? Are you alright?"
The cries immediately stopped, and two glowing red orbs- eyes- looked up at her from one side of the ally. They were wide and terrified. But they didn't speak and stilled as if the threat would go away if they didn't cause any movement. But their red luminous eyes gave them away.
She walked closer to the small dark blob huddling agenst the corner of a dumpster and the wall, her eyes starting to adjust and recognize shapes in the dark. This kid, maybe a teen even, was curled in on themself, one arm around their legs and the other gripping their hair, lower face pressed against their knees. She could see how their eyes were puffy and tears had been flowing down their cheeks. They looked like they were holding their breath, scared of her.
"Oh dear... hey it's alright-," she reached out a hand to give a reassuring touch to their shoulder, but they pressed further back into the wall, letting out harsh, quick breaths. Okay, no touching. Mitsi could do that. She instead backed up a bit and sat on her knees, on their level. It seemed to calm them a little bit. "My name is Mitsi. You don't have to tell me, but could you tell me your name?"
Their eyes widened, and they shook their head no quickly. "Alright, that's okay. Are you hurt anywhere?" She had noticed their torn clothes and a slight bruising under their right eye.
The kid hesitated. But then settled on shaking their head again. Mitsi exhaled deeply, slightly disappointed by the kid not trusting her.
"Okay, is there anything I can do to hel-?" She was cut off by the kid who got up in a flash, grabbed her, and placed her where they had been, against the wall and the dumpster. They were taller than she thought and stronger than expected. "Hey- what-?"
"Please," the kid pleaded, looking at her with scared, bright red eyes. She could see the bruise in full now, looking like they had been punched in the jaw. "He'll hear you." They sounded pained.
Mitsi didn't get a chance to ask who He was, but the kid suddenly turned to the ally and moved away from the dumpster, eyes focusing on something she couldn't see-
"The Chosen One! There you are." A deep voice cackled. The voice felt dark, evil even. She knows she's heard it before, but from where-?
"Y'know it's rude to leave me hangin’ like that, Cho. You wound me." His words were venom.
"..'M sorry..." They... The Chosen One looked down to their feet, biting their lip and held themself tightly. Mitsi wanted so badly to hug this child and whisk them home, safe, with her. But a fear penalized her. It was the unseen man, where had she heard his voice from-?
"Aw, that's cute, Cho. But you know 'sorry's don't cut it. C'mon. Let's head back to camp. We need to finish what we were doing."
"..okay, Dark..." they mumbled and- oh. Mitsi remembers now. The Dark Lord. One of the two terrorists that have been destroying websites. The same terrorists that Vic was trying to track down to capture. The same terrorists that were dangerous and-
Why was a kid hanging around terrorists??
She looks at The Chosen One for any form of answers, but now they just look blank, and starts walking towards the terrorist without giving her another glance.
The Dark Lord laughs again, it's a dark one that sends a chill down her spine. "Ah, now that wasn't so bad, was it? Now, I have a few more websites we could hit, I was thinking either Newgrounds or..." they walked out of earshot, and Mitsi...
Mitsi needed to get home and talk to Vic and Agent.
-
"There's a kid with them?? Shit!" Vic swore, pacing the room with shaky hands. "There've been no sightings of anyone, especially a kid, around the pair, how have we not noticed this?"
"Maybe this is a new development, or they've not taken them to destroy websites with them." Agent suggested.
"All I know is, the kids hurt. They need help." Mitsi had been crying, and her voice cracked.
"We are doing our best to track them down, Mitsi... we have the power-sepressaint and sedative serum ready, and a prototype of the cuffs working. When we know where they are and we capture them, we'll do our best to find the kid, but if they aren't taking them when they destroy websites, then it might be impossible..."
"Wait! I just remembered!" Both of them started at Mitsi's sudden raise of voice. "When they were walking away, I overheard The Dark Lord say that one of their next targets was Newgrounds!"
Vic and Agent stilled in shock. If they were to hit Newgrounds, it would be a disaster. The majority of animations living in the Outernet were saved and hosted there. That's where their code lives. If that was destroyed, the possibility that respawns wouldn't happen...
"We need to warn them, and get to work."
