Charlie's work for the Order of the Phoenix has taken a toll on him, and he's lost his passion for working with dragons. He moves back home after the battle to be with his family, but his mind is elsewhere. Max Erding has been missing since the start of the war, and Charlie is desperate to find out what's happened to him.
We follow Charlie and the Weasleys from May 1998 - December 2000, with lots of flashbacks into Charlie's past along the way, finally ending with an update in the summer of 2005.
Things start slow and sad in the aftermath of the battle, but it's not all bleak, I promise. There is silliness and suffering in equal measure.
This fic is canon compliant with the main 7 HP books only (not movies, games or online content).
