Nearly two months after Abed’s best friend leaves, he receives an email.
“Abed thought back to Troy’s last night at Greendale. They were in this very same bed, with plenty of room for the both of them, but Troy had been curled around him. Abed had rested his chin on Troy’s head, holding him tightly in the hopes it would stop him from leaving.”
Nearly two months after Troy departs his home, he reaches out to his other half.
“Eventually he couldn’t bear it anymore. Troy had avoided emailing Abed, Annie had recommended it, saying Abed would cling unhealthily to any contact with Troy. But he knew Abed all too well and he knew that more than anything, the silence of being left behind was what drove Abed insane.”
Nearly two months after the night that changed everything and nothing, Troy and Abed speak for the first time since their separation.

“I missed you,” Annie breathed, enveloping him in the sweet cherry scent that brought out the animal in him. He hugged her back, not sure whether to laugh or cry.
God, all he wanted to do was hold onto her and tell her everything would be alright. However, this was Jack-off Jeff’s world, and he couldn’t be certain of anything, other than the obvious staring back at him. “You look great,” he told her.

Well… that’s not true. He wants to not be sure how he got dragged into it, but he knows perfectly well how. It’s a little annoying and a lot embarrassing that Abed seemed to know how quickly he would fold and what little fight he would put up.

“I said I was sorry,” it’s the only thing Abed can think to say as he tugs and tugs and tugs. And he is sorry, he didn’t mean to wreck the drawings, but things like this seem to happen all the time, where he messes up and everyone gets mad and he doesn’t understand why.
The handcuffs are starting to hurt but he needs out, now. Maybe he should dislocate his finger like they do in the movies, or find a bobby pin. Only, this isn’t a movie and Abed really is stuck.
Or: Hickey handcuffs Abed to his filing cabinet and consequences ensue but this time he doesn't need to handle it alone.
