    Summary

The minimal distance between them was effectively closed as Gillion tilted his head up in invitation. His head and shoulders got pushed back further into the wall by the force with which he kissed him. His heart thrummed in his chest, unable to do anything besides grip Caspian’s jaw a bit harder. Caspian was so warm, everything about his touch set Gillion’s nerves on fire.
Fear started to weigh heavy in his gut.

A red giant,” Caspian says, and the scrawl of a pen on paper can be heard through the call. “It’s in its last stages of life. It may well burn out within our lifetimes.

    Summary

Gillion feels a rush of emotion as he recalls the last time they danced in the rain, and how much has changed since then. There’s new scars on his hands, across his face, his chest. He’s missing teeth.

But Caspian still smiles at him the same way, even with the new scar over the corner of his mouth, and that’s enough for Gillion. He puts his hand in Caspian’s.

    “You lead.”

    -OR-

Gillion and Caspian dance in All-Port in the rain again.

Bravery does not always end well. Caspian knows this, and he knows, just as much, the exact way his heart is going to break as soon as he speaks.

Or, Gillion cares, deeply, utterly, overwhelming in its strength, unlike anything Caspian has ever seen. He couldn’t put a word to the way Gillion loves others. It isn’t Gillion’s fault he, himself, can’t either.

    Summary

Perhaps one day Gillion could put it into words that do it justice. Instead, he casts his gaze to the sea. She is beautiful too, sunlight reflecting and sparkling back at him. He aches with the memories of her depths, of the sights hidden beneath the waves, and wonders dimly if Caspian misses her too. None of the rest of the crew could understand, except perhaps for Finn, but Gillion isn’t going to trouble his grandfather with such thoughts, and Caspian is a sea and then some away.

From where he is, standing by the railing, leaned over the side with the breeze and seaspray in his face, he almost thinks that it feels religious. The cold air hits him with the rise and fall of the ship on the waves and he swears that under his palms, the Albatross breathes.

    -OR-

Somewhat of a character study of Gillion through the lens of the Albatross after he breaks the Callnch.

Gillion swims to his side, reaching for the coral to gently nudge it a little more into place with his own shape water. “It’s beautiful.”

He finally spun around, eyes naturally wide and curious, which he accentuated with a slight tilt of his head. He held a small orb of water, tossing it between and around each hand as he spoke. He always made it look so effortless. “It’s just a simple Shape Water spell, I’ve seen you do it a thousand times.”
“Yes, but I can’t do it the way you do.”

Then, without warning, Gillion lunged, wrapping his arms tightly around Caspian’s neck. He was nearly toppled, stumbling backwards to accommodate for Gillion’s unexpected weight. Then he laughed, a sound as stunning as the rest of him.
