Stifling, that's what it was. The sun shone down on us, and our sparring session left us sprawled on the grass. I turned to look at the hero beside me

I had always wondered, but surely it had to be overconfidence, right? I had to know-
“It's just a hero's job, y’know?” he beamed at me as he uttered such nonsense, dripping with confidence.
Right, he's overconfident. No matter though, he had always said we’d win no matter what, maybe it was because we had the protection of silver watching over us to correct any deaths that were not written in the stars. Or perhaps he's just that good? I'll still remind him that losing is still a possibility, though, to keep him in check, just so he can prove me wrong every time.
Except for once..I was right, that's exactly what had happened, we lost, Sonic drowned. Well, just about. I saw the tan arms that waved just barely above the water, seeing those arms disappear under the blue depths was like a wave of dread I have not felt since..

However, Cream did not find her beloved mother, she found no one at all. Cheese, Chocolata, and the other Chau were resting in the new Chau home they had built, while Gemerl was at Tail’s for repairs after another Egg Man encounter. It was only Cream and her mother Vanilla, so without the latter, it fell to the former to investigate."
AKA, Cream discovers some things.
This is an AU of the IDW comics where the events of the comics and games are cannon, but elements from other continuity's are mentioned or used as inspiration. I try to keep it Canon Compliant, but definitely isn't, even though I wrote it intending for nothing to brake cannon.This story takes place two years after the first game Cream appeared in, assume Frontiers happened a month ago or something.
