Pico is your average mercenary - that is, if your average mercenary is a schizophrenic survivor of a school shooting. Residing in a Subway in the middle of Pennsylvania, Pico has it easy. He gets his job done, calls the client, and gets the money. But what happens when something – or, someone – disrupts the peace?
Meet Bee, a lower-class angel sent from the High Council to protect a trigger-happy, ginger-headed kid from danger. Determined to get through to his Blessed, Bee believes it is his job to set Pico on the right career path. But when the duo hears of mysterious sightings, they must put their differences aside to stop something more sinister than either of them could have ever dreamt of.
Can Pico let go of the only person who has ever cared for him, and can Bee bring himself to truly be alone?
