After he joins the school's HEMA (Historical European Martial arts. It's like longsword and sword and shield stuff) team, he realizes it's actually kind of fun and it reminds him of Dungeons and Dragons battles (he's a dnd nerd). As he get's better at it, people start taking the time to get to know him. However, one day, as he's practicing by himself, he gets attacked by a masked individual. While trying to escape, his leg get severely damaged.
