You stare down at your food, losing your appetite at the sight of moist beans and dry rice. The bland, dingy orange tray sat on a messy prison cafeteria table, decorated with dust. You could almost feel a cold, unsettling breeze pinch at your skin.
Other criminals settled in around you, bumping shoulders and inevitably letting an uncomfortable closeness settle. The undeniable hunger growing inside you, humid atmosphere and irritable voices makes everything almost suffocating. You try not to faint as your eyelids pull themselves downward, fluttering themselves to a halt on your lower eyelids.
When you open your eyes, you’re almost able to forget that you’re not in a prison anymore. Instead, you are sitting on a cold, uncomfortable metal seat- damn your ass hurts. A grumble escapes your throat while your eyes adjust to the red lighting, enclosed into a crammed space. You realize the shoulders bumping you are your peers— or rather prisoners forced into the same situation you’ve found yourself in.
This company.. Urbanshade, was it? Sketchy and untrustworthy, but reluctant, you take the offer you couldn’t deny. Freedom in exchange for opening a few doors? Surely it wasn’t as easygoing as they painted it out to be. -

I feel like Chosen's character was only briefly touched on and I want to further expand it, by making her go through hell of her own mind. Also, I really like Red so he's here too. You can't tell me they wouldn't make an interesting duo. -

Episode 8 or uhh wtv the manga chapter was (im so sorry manga readers this scene was so short in it oml) but instead of giving half his insides “hikaru” realizes that the only real way to fulfill the wish the real Hikaru gave to him was to give in and act as though he really could die. This is my first fic, so be kind! Writing a fic was inspired by Sen, after reading Manacled. It was my first Dramione foray. This has nods to and roots in Before Sunrise, Valley Girl, Vanilla Sky, Romeo and Juliet, Spuffy and some of my own experiences. Also a love letter to Colorado and my SO.
I researched the political/security/debate parts of this in-depth, but there is probably no replacement for true BTHS experience for the presidential stuff so mea culpa on anything unrealistic there.

Nothing in life has ever been easy, but it’d be nice to catch some sort of a break.
