Summary
In another world, Maine's despondency after Pilar's death causes his gang to stagnate.
Sent on a blue milk run, David has the chance to bond with Rebecca early on in his career, and finds that there's far more to the young woman than just firearms, chaos, and crass flirtations.
Maybe she and Lucy will be enough to stop him from drifting.
Basically a deviation from canon due to an unassuming side-quest with unexpected positive consequences.
