Raphael, arguably the most accomplished player on the Lanceboard of Life, failed to anticipate that he would be unable to fully master the Crown of Karsus without Elynn, who channels the Karsite Weave better than him.
Having escaped from Raphael's manipulative clutches, she wants nothing more than a life with Astarion, who is mortal like her.Raphael has given her an ultimatum if she doesn't agree to stand by his side and help him realise his plans for world domination: She is to become queen alongside Raphael; otherwise, a city in Faerûn will be destroyed every new tenday.
Elynn knows she must challenge and defeat Raphael, but until the Githyanki forces arrive to help with the upcoming war, all there is to do is hope.
She knows that until then at least one city will fall.
Elynn must not give up, because if Raphael succeeds, mortals and gods alike will be damned. Elynn is hope personified. If she succumbs to his plan to make her immortal, the world's hope will be lost.
She doesn't have much time to prepare mentally, psychologically and magically for the fight of her life.
Fortunately, however, she is not alone. She has her companions and, perhaps soon, the support of the gods.Series

[You don't need to know Baldur's Gate 3 to enjoy this. It might read even better if you don't. But: It contains spoilers the way tea contains liquid.]
A female 28yo human with normal life, job to go to, no outstanding skills, but a bunch of insecurities, is the only unlucky to be infected with an alien larva set to overwrite her mind and body within days. Driving her desperate quest to find a cure amidst battling memory loss and brain damage, alone, except for one friend, she overthinks everything, trying to do the right thing. Trust doesn't come easy, and deciding who to rely on becomes a battle in itself.
Instead of game's companions, I took inspiration in individuals and organizations from my real life. If you recognize yourself here: take it as a compliment. I wrote this story because while playing I went through a storm of emotions and needed to put it into words. (Yes, it gets a bit emotional at times). I wanted to capture what it feels like when you have only one chance to decide, without saving, reloading, and googling for the perfect outcome.
Game's side characters also appear, some are examined in depth, because their actions gave me no peace for months. -

It takes place mainly in the city and a what if Tav had met him and decided 'you know what? I like him' and does all sorts of things to keep him safe and in so doing, becomes free from Bhaal. This is a story about how someone who came from a place of high abuse and goes to murder people, can be redeemed. This is really just a drabble and please, PLEASE note it contains a LOT of trauma.

'I managed to make some small talk with my fellow escapees from the Nautiloid. Lae’zel is a terse woman of few words; Githyanki culture cares not for excess or expression it seems, favoring directness, clarity and precision—much like her sword work. Shadowheart is very guarded and standoff-ish, though that seems to be more directed toward Lae’zel. Gith, I imagine, also have very little use for religion, so for Shadowheart to have dedicated herself so completely and zealously to her faith must be as alien to her as she is to us. Astarion seems well-practiced in the art of casual deflection in conversation, utilizing it to put the nasty business of holding a dagger to my throat behind him. He’s not made any threatening movements in my direction since, and I’m content to let bygones be bygones in all three cases. There is just one thing that troubles me, however:
I know that there is no Magistrate Ancunín in Baldur’s Gate.'
