Summary
After giving up as a hero at long last, Izuku finds himself lost as he approaches high school. But, after thinking that it couldn’t possibly get worse, his life is completely derailed when he ends up in the midst of a villain attack with his mother. Manifesting a quirk he didn’t know he had, he was able to fend off the villain, at the price of the villain’s life. But, after it all, Inko Midoriya died far before the paramedics could get to her, all that was left of her being the last words she uttered to him.
After that, his life was in disarray. His purpose was gone, and the one person that had always been there for him was gone too. Even though Izuku ends up in the care of a small foster home, would that really be enough to quell that hole in his heart, one that seemed to be growing bigger by the day?
Or maybe he could find something else that fill that cavern with. A purpose. Something exhilarating, something illegal, something dangerous. A way he could actually feel useful. He did awaken a quirk, after all, and there was no way he could be a hero. Why not use it to actually do some good?

hiya! I wanted to write a fic about vigilante Izuku that felt more realistic. when I read fics about being orphaned/left to foster care/emotionally abused by foster 'parents' it feels unrealistic, and takes me out of it. This fic will be very realistic, be warned. seriously, everything I write about I have personally experienced, (minus being a vigilante, being shot and cuddled by Aizawa, etc. yk,) but the trauma discussed here is very real.

At the age of nine, Izuku is kidnapped by the Shie Hassaikai after they find him with their important weapon. He's kept underground where, according to their leader, the heroes can't taint his mind with their lies and ideologies.
When Izuku gets rescued years later, he had to leave someone special behind. Struggling with trying to heal and re-enter society, he enrolls at U.A. to get stronger so he can one day go back and rescue her.
But not only are they trying to get him back, the League of Villains are after him again as well, and both groups will do anything to get their hands on him, even if it means working together to do it.
