Or—Three Body Problem, 2006-2007, an alternate universe in which everyone’s favorite tennis prodigies with a homoerotic rivalry romantically (and sexually) pursue a student journalist desperate to escape her suffocating relationship.

Summary
Patrick's life, told through multiple scenes, from when he's a kid to when he ends up in New Rochelle, 2019.
***
[He misses them, all the time.
He misses Art when he has to sleep alone in shitty motel rooms, trying to pretend like the silence isn’t bothering him. He misses Tashi whenever he’s on the court, which is all the fucking time. He misses Art when something funny happens and he automatically turns to look at him, only to find the space consistently empty. He misses Tashi whenever he jerks off in his room, coming all over his hand and thinking of her.
He misses them both whenever he sees a couple kissing. He misses them both whenever he first steps in a hotel room that looks a bit too much like the hotel back in Flushing last summer.] -

Summary
Sont-ils encore amis?

Summary
It was a long drive back to Patrick’s parents’ place, and Art had fallen asleep on every nighttime or early morning bus ride back from a tournament since they were eleven. The sun was hardly below the horizon when Patrick felt the familiar weight on his shoulder, felt the familiar brush of soft curls against his neck. Patrick knew Art’s bodyweight the way that he knew the fit of his favorite racket in his palm, the way that he knew their dorm room carpet under his feet and which of the hall showers was the least scary.

Summary
'It occurred to him, while he waited for morning to officially arrive, that his feelings for Art were a lot stronger than he previously thought. He knew they were close, closer than most friends. He knew that he might be a little obsessed. He knew that he wanted Art to be around all the time. But he hadn’t fully realized in what capacity. It occurred to him that he very well may be in love, if he even knew what that meant. And if so, he very well may be irrevocably fucked.'
A look at Patrick and Art's time as roommates at the Mark Rebellato Tennis Academy, as Patrick comes to terms with his feelings for Art, his sexuality, and his strained relationship with his family.
