He tipped its chin as it smiled, the tongue coming out for Joker to jerk off and paint it to express some thanks.

Summary
Slade had noticed that his former apprentice had been going through some changes as of late. He's been ill, exhausted, and showing signs of fatigue. And when he was back in the tower, he did nothing but sleep, when he was usually causing mischief with his so-called "friends." Which was strange, even for him. In the beginning he merely surveyed the young hero. But when he noticed that someone else had taken a liking to watching the boy, he took action. What the mercenary did not expect to find was the mythical Court of Owls. And for some reason they wanted Robin. So he did some research of his own. Turns out the boy isn't as normal as he thought he was.
Or rather Slade kidnaps Robin, accommodates him through his Talon transformation, and now has to deal with the aftermath of his sudden impulse to the help the damn kid.

Slade gestured with cuffed hands, palms facing upward. “It’s not about what I want,” he started, “it’s what you need. I know you have questions, and that I have the answers.” He laced his fingers together and placed his chin atop them. “But that’s… formulaic, too conventional. Why not make it interesting?”

There's unrest in the underground and Slade seems to be a part of the cause. He agrees to cooperate with the League on a condition: Only Nightwing can interrogate him.
For every question Nightwing asks, he has to answer a question from Slade as well. Confidential information was off the table, that was made clear. So what seems to be Slade's end goal here, if the deal just sounded too good to be true?

Expressions morphed into a blend of disbelief and intrigue, the kind one might expect during a pivotal scene in a suspenseful drama. Dick felt the weight of their collective stares pressing against him, a mixture of expectation and excitement swirling in the air. With a resigned sigh, slightly exaggerated for effect, he offered a teasing grin that danced across his features. “Sure, if that’s what you want to do. But can you keep up with me, old man?” he challenged, his voice dripping with a playful bravado that belied the adrenaline surging through him.

TL;DR During the apprentice arc, Dick goes into heat. Slade won't outright force himself, but he's also not going to take a no. He'll break down Dick eventually :)
