    Summary

The pet store on the corner of 14th and 1st had a name at one point in time. Probably wasn’t a very good one seeing as anyone and everyone just calls it 141 now. The store itself has remained the same for a decade (aside from, perhaps, the name). It’s jointly owned by a man named John Price and much like his store, everyone seemed to disregard that fact and called him Captain instead. As a retired army man he couldn’t exactly see the harm in it (he did spend a significant number of years answering to that title after all). The other owner didn’t spend much time on the floor- fewer people knew her and those that did gave her the respect of her actual name- Kate Laswell.
Price has hired on quite a few misfits over the years, most of them didn’t stick, three of them did.

    Summary

He threw the useless gun next to its useless owner, and headed back inside the saloon. The squelching of the blood under his feet made him look down and realise just how much blood was dripping off his clothes. God damn wankers, this was his ONE good jacket. He shrugged and headed back inside to pay for his drinks.

He hadn't really wanted to par take in a shootout. But hey, he came out on top. That's all that mattered at this point.

That and paying for his drink.

    Summary

Soap is a whirlwind, all bright blue eyes and barely controlled chaos, the embodiment of a stick of dynamite: the looming threat of destruction, sparking brightly once the fuse is lit. He’s disaster incarnate when he chooses, but when applied correctly, he can break anything down to build it anew in better fashion. Smart as a whip, and cracks like one too.

    No one wants a vampire.

It's something Ghost has had to tell himself many times.

It's not until Johnny that he realizes maybe, just maybe, that's not true.

    Summary

    “Soap!”

Ghost scrabbles at the rain-slicked deck. He’s tilting, the rig’s tilting, the whole world is tilting, because Soap is lying bonelessly on the deck, doing absolutely nothing to slow his slide towards the edge. Lightning flashes, and Ghost sees blood streaked down the Scotsman’s face. He’s unconscious.

“Hold on, Johnny!” Ghost’s hands fly of their own accord, driving his knife into a seam between the deck plates and looping his rope around the hilt. The other end he ties around his waist, even as he begins to slide towards the edge as well. In three seconds, Soap’s unconscious body will go over the edge into the merciless ocean below.

-or- Ghost saves Soap from falling off an oil rig.

    Summary

"Sae, ah wis juist thinking, does it hurt?" Johnny continued on and finally, finally, paused to draw a breath. By now Ghost would have thought he had suffocated with the concerning yet impressive word to breathing ratio the Scotsman was exhibiting. Yet, he hadn’t caught a single word.

“English?” Was all he was able to choke out.

The Scottish man just sighted dramatically, toning down his accent with audible effort, “Wha’ ah was saying is what’s up old man and that ye look lonely sittin’ here all on yer own and ah figured ah’d give you some love, no? And that with love, sometimes genuine love’s gotta be tough, so, did it hurt?”
