No mermaid can tempt him to his demise with their song.

Vox pads quietly down the corridor, pausing by the door to the outside. He frowns for a moment as he thinks he hears a splash from outside, but he glances out of the window and the pool looks empty. Dismissing it, he adjusts his dressing gown and checks his face in the mirror on the wall. There are noticeable bags under his eyes, but why wouldn't there be, at half past midnight?
He pushes the back door open, wandering silently across the patio to one of the seats.
It is then that he notices the person in his pool.
