    Summary

Sokka has been hated and abused his whole life for being a firebender, so when the Fire Nation comes to abduct him, it turns out to be a blessing. Everything changes when he meets Azula. Befriending the damaged princess, Sokka will learn that his new home is not nearly as perfect as it seems.

Meanwhile, Azula has never forgotten seeing her brother Zuko get murdered by their own father. Ever since, she has done everything she could to survive, even if she hates herself for who she's become. Befriending Sokka sets her on a new path, but will she continue to obey her father, or choose to make a stand against the war?

Everyone believes Zuko is dead. Little do they know he lives, trapped in a Fire Nation prison camp. There, he will discover the true cruelty of the war and suffer in ways he never imagined. When he finally returns to the Fire Nation palace, he will have to decide whether to enjoy happiness with the people he loves, or risk everything for a chance at stopping the hundred year war.

Sokka, Azula, and Zuko have all suffered terribly, but by finding strength in each other, they have a chance at ending the war and bringing peace to the world- if only they have the courage to try.

    Summary

This was almost unforgivable. Aang was young but not stupid. He knew how important this was to the two of them. He knew what meeting their father would mean to them. And he’d still taken that map and hidden it away.

Aang’s a good kid, he told himself as he frowned up at the twinkling stars. He was just… just being stupid and selfish.

    The fury kept on simmering.

    Summary

"What if it happened to you on a different day?
On a bridge where there wasn't a rail in the way?
Or a neighborhood street where the little kids play?
Or the Angeles Crest in the snow or the rain?
What if you weren't alone? There were kids in the car
What if you were remote? No one knows where you are
If you changed anything, would you not have survived?

    Summary

Sokka isn't sure of his place. He has to protect his sister, that's his job, but what can he really do? She's a bender, he's not. Now a member of the Avatar's group, he feels less useful than usual. What can he contribute? Nothing. He's not a bender, his plan's are often written off.

Coincidentally, there's a certain enemy who also wants all the stress and responsibility to end.

And coincidentally, they come to the same conclusion: perhaps they'd fair better away from it all.

    Summary

[“Here.” The boy holds out a cigarette for him. “You look like you need it.”

Sokka takes it with a grateful smile and is just about to get his lighter when the boy holds out his finger with a small flame flickering above it.

“Oh.” He brings the tip of his cigarette above the flame to light it. “Thanks.”

“No problem.” The boy jerks his head back towards the porch, a clear invitation for Sokka to join him, then he turns around and walks back to the bench. Sokka follows him without a word.]

    OR

Sokka’s life slips into meaninglessness after Yue’s death. Nothing seems fun or exciting anymore, he mostly just allows himself to be dragged along with whatever his friends want to do in a desperate attempt to find something to hold onto, though it’s all mostly futile.
Then he meets Zuko, who’s moved into Yue’s old place. Zuko, who’s interesting and strange and kind. Who doesn’t judge Sokka even when he probably should. Who maybe gets it in a way no one else around him does.

    Summary

This story follows them through the years, focusing on their healing after the war. Zuko never learned how to rest. Sokka never learned how to stop holding everyone else up.

    Snippet:
Zuko makes an expression like he’s about to plunge into ice water: “I visited my father again this evening,” he swallows hard, “If you ever see me turning into him I want you to…I want you to end me.”

    Everything tunnels in.

    “No.”

Zuko pauses, runs his hand through his hair, hard, like he’s trying to dig something out of his skull.

”I’m not... right. Not inside. The war’s over, and I thought I’d be at peace. But I’m not,” he squeezes his eyes shut, “Two years have passed. I sleep, and I see visions, fire. I see myself burning everything. Sometimes it’s Sozin’s dragon. Sometimes it’s…memories.”

Sokka watches him and it’s awful, because he recognizes himself, his own version of this. And he wants to fix it, he needs to fix it, needs to get that look out of Zuko’s eyes, but he’s not even sure where to start.

So he says the only thing that feels honest: “It’s okay. I get nightmares too.”

Zuko looks as regal as ever. Dressed down from last night, he’s not wearing as many heavy robes over his shoulders, not nearly as much jewellery decorating him, simply a bangle on his wrist, the crown in his hair and… something underneath the high neck of his clothes. Is that… Is that the betrothal necklace? How did he…? What.

    Summary

Zuko says there are pockets of rebellion in the Fire Nation, that not everyone agrees with what the Fire Lord is doing. Standing there, Sokka doesn’t believe him. Summary

When Sokka was born, his parents quickly discovered he was a waterbender. Knowing that if the Fire Nation discovered there was still a waterbender at the South Pole, they would come after him, they decided to leave him on a canoe bound for the North Pole, where they hoped he would be safe. However, the canoe, caught in a storm, never reached its destination. Two days later, on Kyoshi Island, a woman named Yukari found a baby boy on the shore and decided to adopt him and raise him as her own, unaware of the child's true nature.

    Summary

As soon as Zuko heard the clang, his heart froze.
    He had dropped the wrench.
The guards escorting him to the cooler paused. "What's this?" one of them asked in a condescending tone. "It looks like a wrench," the other responded, a smirk spreading across his face as he picked it up and weighed it in his palm.
"Planning to fix the cooler while you're in there?" the first guard sneered, holding open the heavy door.
Zuko didn't answer. He couldn't. His pulse was roaring in his ears, his heart pounding. Anything he said now could and would be used against him. "Search him, maybe he has more."

    Summary

Basically a what if scenario where Sokka went to find Zuko after he tried to convince The GAang to let him join them instead of Toph with romance

    --
Yet, as he went to sleep for the night he couldn’t help but over analyze everything Zuko said. Who he was looking at. What he was saying. Why was he saying it. Zuko had been on the hunt for them for so long, not once had he tried to be good without his own personal gain. However, Sokka couldn’t find a different strategy, any underlying clue that Zuko wasn’t being sincere in his words or actions.

Why did he even care? Sokka had no reason to analyze Zuko, but he seemed almost desperate. Who would willingly give themselves up to, not to brag, such a strong team? Just to capture the Avatar? It didn’t seem right.
