“Mla’ghir,” he says, reaching up to lay a soothing touch upon her temple.
“That doesn’t sound nearly as awed as you think it does, right now,” she says, leaning into his hand. She smiles regardless. Limned in light yet mortal. Orpheus uses a psionic touch to open her braids, carefully disentangling the strands.
“Allow me to show you how awed I am, then,” he murmurs. He steps close to her, threading his fingers into her hair. “How appreciative, zhak vo’n’xan duj.”—
Tav takes perhaps not the best opportunity to ask for a favor from Orpheus (or the best, depending on your perspective). Voss is not pleased about it.
