Before the last city stood tall, before the guardians were heralded as heroes, and before we basked in the travelers light once more we lived in a time of darkness. When the traveler went dormant - too damaged by the darkness that had chased it across the stars- it left our world with one final hope. In its final gasp it created the ghosts, our smallest and most powerful allies through the darkest times and who were destined to herald our next protectors blessed with the traveler’s light.
However, those protectors could only come from one place, the world's fallen warriors. Those with the heart and skills to stand up and defend us all, even if it meant giving their own lives but were now left empty shells. It seemed as the ghosts explained it, that the light of the traveler that now resided in the ghosts could be passed onto these warriors, to make them whole again. But just as they were warriors, they were people too, and people are well known for making plans of the divine go awry.- Language:

Summary
An in depth exploration of a raid idea I had, including base concept, narrative, encounter mechanics, interludes, gear and lore. This raid takes place post-Final Shape and it very well may not follow the story Bungie wants to tell. It also involves characters and concepts which may never see the light of day in the canon events of the game (Aesop and his relationship with the Witness is a prime example). For all intents and purposes, you are free to just engage with the encounter designs and some of the concepts described without worrying too much about narrative cohesion and how it relates back to Destiny's ever evolving (and retconning) story. If you want to have a mental image of the design of the two bosses before reading the encounters they are featured in, you may find it in the Strides of Resurgence lore tab.
