The Loviatar fanatic Abdirak is an… interesting diversion. He smells overwhelmingly of blood, fresh and old, feverishly sour in a way that delicately wrinkles Astarion's nose.
He doesn't expect it when Eraad agrees to being whipped. He's a big tiefling bastard whose glare makes seasoned veterans stand down. And when he doesn't get his way, he'll just kill until he does. It often works.
So it's… strange to watch him stand there, taking deep strikes from the lash in Abdirak's practiced hand. Willingly. Flinching occasionally but asking for more, demanding more until that wild, bloody mania calcifies in his gaze, the same as Abdirak. They stare at each other in a way that appears only marginally less intimate than the tadpoles linking their minds. [...]
As they make to leave, Astarion watches Eraad slyly rub a hand against the stiff pleats of his kilt. He seems to adjust himself, and Astarion snorts quietly when he realizes that he's been getting off on this. The others either don't notice or are too polite to make it known. Perhaps he's making assumptions. But he's definitely not imagining the little smirk he catches when he and Eraad lock eyes.
