Maybe that would have worked if Russia was the only one who got tangled in America's traps. This is a 'what if' about what would happen if 'Draco isn't an Idiot', and paid attention to the lessons Narcissa taught about the Black, and following their motto, ‘family first.’ Naturally, Draco would invite Harry to join his family, and from there he actually learns the truth, instead of the lies told by Dumbledore. With proper supervision and the love of family, Harry excels in ways never dreamed.
Because that wasn't enough of a challenge, I also made a world very similar to Victorian England with harsh discipline, honor, and proper comportment. I created a world where first-gens are used to replenish the magic of families, so while second-class citizens, they are necessary every three generations to keep the family magic alive. Beloved Hekate is the goddess of magic, and she does occasionally interfere, too.
