Summary
Wriothesley's prologue was violence upon violence, and he finds it unnecessary to include when telling the story of himself.

Neuvillette is patient. He has a lot of time. And he is very interested in the story of the Duke of Meropide.They say love is like a bird, unable to be tamed or conquered.
However immune to it a near-immortal and prison administrator believe they are, it will always find a way into their hearts — and will stay rooted in there, long after the home from which they came has departed. -

Summary
After a wretched morning, Wriothesley knew his day would get worse. Yet, he never would have imagined getting heartbroken by gossips while waiting in line for his Welfare meal. Determined to get over his long lasting pining, he decides to do the brave thing and ignore Neuvillette and his newlyfound "lover" until further notice.
But if Neuvillette has, of course, no lover, the Duke has a stalker, who is determined to jump on that blessed opportunity.

She averted her eyes and pinched the bridge of her nose.
“Because there’s nothing romantic to it, but the guy indeed moved into Neuvillette's apartments.”And of course, he couldn’t breathe. Of course, his gut spilled. Because loving from a distance someone who doesn’t wish to experience love is one thing, but loving someone who loves someone else is another. It’s harder. It’s personal. You are not loved back, because it wasn’t you. You weren’t meant to be. And that hurts.

Her tongue prods his upper lip for entrance into his mouth and he retaliates, his tongue wrapping hers. She parts her lips almost forcefully, and the sweet taste begs him to taste further.
Dandelion wine from Mondstadt. The one he’d been missing recently. Tasted in her mouth, along with the fresh scent of strawberries, and…
Lemon tea? That faint aftertaste…certainly did taste much like it.

Summary
Fontaine has successfully dodged a catastrophic crisis, though not without a great deal of loss. Many citizens have gathered around in support of each other, relying on the previous roles of leadership to give them hope that things will return to how they were before. Hope is abundant, spirits are now high, and the future seems so bright.
Neuvillette has faced many challenges within his long life, and helping to rebuild a nation that has had so much instability in the past will not prove to be easy. Not only does he have the weight of a nation on his shoulders, but he also has a newly claimed mate that consumes his every waking thought, worry and love.
Wriothesley notices that his lover isn’t quite the same since the day Fontaine was saved from imminent destruction, but the frantic activities within the Fortress of Meropide have kept him completely distant from his mate.
Both men are working hard for the nation that they love, to keep justice and order together in harmony once more. However, the whispers of the former archon keep echoing through Neuvillette’s mind, and the longer he ponders, the more he realizes that what he and Wriothesley have is something to be proud of.

Summary
And that is the crux of the issue, she thinks as she watches him eat his meal with bandaged hands. This man is full of contradiction.
Lauds and laurels are draped over his shoulders. He would have no trouble finding a distinguished position amongst the elite in the Court of Fontaine if he so wished, yet even years after fully serving his sentence, here he remains. Such a firm believer in justice but never allowing himself the luxury of forgiveness. He hands out tickets to redemption freely and sees off reformed citizens with a wave and a wish of good luck, feet firmly planted within the confines of Meropide.
Maybe he thinks he’s beyond saving. Rebuilt, rehabilitated, but still ruined at the core. Perhaps in his mind, he’ll always be a murderer.
Sigewinne is used to patching him up, but she's never quite sure if he's left healed.
