Right after the Ministry of Magic had announced both Potters dead, James Potter returns to Godrics Hallow from a trip out of the city of London per the Ministry's request only to his home in ruins and his wife and son missing. James quickly realizes that the Ministry and Headmaster of Hogwarts were working together to keep James alive for the sake of the war while removing any disractions.
