Summary
Professor Pididily suddenly goes missing, and everyone thinks his former pupil Viktor took him. Jayce, Piltover's Defender has to confront his former partner, only to find that the mystery of Stanwick Pididily's disappearance has many more layers to it than he could have ever anticipated.
Pre-rework LoL lore while integrating a few newer things and taking a few artistic liberties here. You don't have to know too much beyond the basic lore or nuthin. I really really try not to let it get too unhinged but I guess the author's notes are there just as a little treat or if you want more elaboration. Or you could kinda see it like Johnny's POV chapters if you've ever read House of Leaves. It's a very good book btw. Definitely better than my fanfiction, but you're here anyway, aren't you?

One fateful Progress Day, Jayce, sponsored by clan Giopara, finds himself going through the motions, disinterested in life and growing disenfranchised with the political machinations of Piltover's Councillors. He has lost his passion for his work after an explosion he believes had killed his former partner and only true equal, and is in danger of becoming the man of yesterday...
Until he finds himself visited by an unexpected guest, who reignites his passion, bestowing a drop of inspiration infused with buried desires that will lead him to the edges of sanity with a maddening compulsion to rip apart this ghastly muse that has allowed a lesser craftsman to rebuild his body and replace it piece by piece.
Hopefully, before life as they know it and the tentative 'peace' in Piltover is sundered.
(OR: Viktor never died and has come back to Piltover with unsettled business, and Jayce has hit his damn limit! This is a heavily LoL lore-inspired fic with some light references to Arcane!))

TL;DR: Jayce brings Viktor to meet the Machine Herald and Giopara. They discover that despite ostensibly being the same people, they couldn't be more different. But at the end of the day, their hearts want the same thing.
