Summary
There’s one cycle that Phainon absolutely does NOT want Mydeimos to remember.
It’s only one cycle out of 33,550,336–and he’d killed Mydei a million times more. Sure, the guy only had one weakness, and Phainon exploited the hell out of that in myriads of ways, but in this one cycle, Mydei had spared him from doing the honors.
All because of memories regained from millions of eternal recurrences past.
(Or, alternatively, this is why Phainon hates remembering. Nothing against the path and its pathstriders.
It’s just that people tend to remember things differently, and Phainon, for all the blood he spilt–liked to think he remained objective despite it all.
Mydeimos would like to have a word with him.)
