Summary
Eiden’s heart is thumping, panic rising along with the volume of the voices around him. They’ve stopped talking to him and are now talking about him. Or rather, they’re arguing about whose task is going to take priority.
Unable to bear it any longer, Eiden covers his ears and yells, “Shut! Up! All of you!”
The sudden silence is a relief, but it does nothing to reduce the tension. Eiden steps around the group and begins to walk away. Half a dozen voices call after him, asking where he’s going and who has first dibs on his time and attention. He tunes it all out.

Eiden is burned out and burdened. Leaving the clan behind, he takes a trip around Klein to figure things out. Help comes in the form of unexpected traveling companions and life advice from different sources.

She huffed regardless then walked up behind Shizuku and followed her out to their little clearing. Minori had hoped the sun would at least make it's bit warmer.
It didn't, but she had hope for at least those few minutes.
She shivered again when they were in the open. The gap in the tree cover was surrounded by orange and red leaves, the same kind that littered the floor around them. Pretty, but it really shouldn't have had to come at the price of it being freezing outside!!!!! Or so Minori repeated to herself again. Truly, beauty at the cost of the ability to do anything at all that involved being outside. Not that Minori wouldn't do it just that she wouldn't like doing it.
Minori really wants to practice swordfighting with Shizuku, even if it is freezing outside and she would rather not be freezing outside.

Once upon a time, there was a small village named Kamisuramoto Village nestled deep in the Huangshan Mountains, far isolated from the outside world. Most people were unaware of its existence. It was entirely self-sufficient, creating its own food, water, clothing, and medicine. It was situated on a plateau rife with fertile soil, a roaring river running through the cracked middle, dividing the village into two halves before crashing down in a frozen waterfall to the lake thousands of feet below. The way up was rocky and dangerous, only the most daring- or desperate- of travelers choosing to take the frigid mountain pass rather than the peaceful, well-traveled road through the forest.
Because of that profound isolation, Kamisuramoto Village was home to a few traditions and beliefs that many in the outside world might consider odd.
