The thing about finding out that some of your distant ancestors are still around (and so are you, and you're all vampires) is that, when they've got something to say, the least you can do is try to listen. Especially if the distant ancestor in question is Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, who's been around for centuries and is probably your best chance at figuring out more about whatever the hell your (un?)life is now.
At least, that's Desmond's logic. He's coping.
