he started reading. when he was stuck in the silence of the dark with only his thoughts to accompany him, he read whatever he could get his hands on, finding escape in the flowery prospects of faraway lands and the wonder of times long passed. by the time he moved out of his parents' farm in daegu to the unknown, sprawling maze of seoul, he had amassed hundreds of books of varying genres, lengths and styles. the first few lonely nights in seoul had come with a lot of hardship, and thus a lot of books from the so many bookstores pocketed throughout the city streets.
other nights, he lays on his side, refreshing and reloading his social medias, falling into deep rabbit holes on youtube, tapping away at his phone until a wave of sleepiness finally hits him only moments before the rise of the sun, sleeping fitfully for only a few hours at a time.

taehyung has insomnia. his neighbour has sleep paralysis. suddenly the world doesn't seem like such a lonely, quiet place.
