The Years Fly By So Fast (Turn Over and Fuck Me Sideways)

Summary:

Where Jungkook thinks he straight, Taehyung is never seen without a flower crown, Jimin thinks Yoongi should stop singing the lyrics from his older brother’s rap songs, Namjoon is already whipped, Hoseok’s personality matches the weather, Seokjin is already a princess, and Yoongi will sing whatever he likes, thank you very much.

A sort of growing up AU that follows their lives through the outline of their songs. (A kind of extended connecting all of the mvs theory)

Chapter 1: Transfer Students and Old Relations

Chapter Text

It was cold and gloomy the day that Jungkook transferred into class A-2, the sky dark and gray and the kids bored and tired.

“Alright class, listen up! Later today we will be welcoming a new student into our class. I want everyone to be kind and courteous to him, alright?” The kids nodded, the young woman at the front of the room looking pleased as she set down the phone that had relayed the message onto her desk.

Ms. B, as everyone called her, was a bright young teacher at BigHit Elementary School, starting her first year of actual teaching with the second grade class of A-2. Everyone adored her, teachers and students alike, and she brought light and joy to the class with her passion for teaching.

Currently though, the light and joy was having a bit of a hard time reaching the students through the cloud of gloom that seemed to hang around. The only student that did not seem to notice the dreary-ness was Kim Namjoon, a young boy, about seven years old, sitting in the back of the classroom at a plastic green table and staring dreamily at the older student sitting at the pink table across the room. Though everyone around him was drawing on pieces of paper for the assignment written on the board (“Draw something that you think represents you-be sure to have a reason why”), Namjoon was too busy staring at another student to be bothered with such trivial tasks.

Kim Seokjin, already at eight years of age, seemed to glow in Namjoon’s eyes. He was a very pretty boy, with fluffy, slightly curly brown hair and a kind face, and Namjoon did everything but kiss the ground he walked on. Ms. B had noticed this crush very early in the year, but when she asked him if he’d like to sit next to the older boy, he profoundly refused, responding with a clear reason:

“I can’t do that. I have to take care of Taehyungie.”

Kim Taehyung, Namjoon’s younger brother, was one of the youngest kids in the class, not yet seven when he first transferred in from Mrs. Jade’s first grade class. Ever since he had transferred in Namjoon hadn’t left his side, watching over the shy boy and taking care of him. At the same time, though he was shy at first, Taehyung could very well take care of himself and often pushed his brother aside to be with his best friend Jimin.

Park Jimin was an angel, the crush of almost every girl (and even a few boys) in the grade, and Taehyung’s best friend for life. They had clicked almost immediately when Jimin complemented Taehyung’s flower crown of the day, a circle of daisies that rested on his soft, light brown head of hair. Yes, Jimin was an absolute angel, tainted only by one of his closest friends.

Min Yoongi was a seven-year-old rebel, a juvenile gangster that loved to make trouble. He and Jimin were almost as close as Jimin and Taehyung, though Yoongi often pushed Jimin aside and tended to stay close to Namjoon and Hoseok, his partners in crime (though it was usually just Yoongi and Hoseok that made trouble; Namjoon just got caught up in it trying to keep them safe.).

Jung Hoseok was a total class clown, loving attention and whose personality could change as quickly as the weather. Though most of the time he was a literal ray of sunshine, smiling like the sun, a few wrong words and he would be in tears or shrieking in your face. Ms. B often had to convince him to come out of the closet (LMFAO I’m sorry) whenever another child was rude to him or he fell asleep, both of which happened more often than the young teacher would have liked.

In the moments after Ms. B’s announcements, the class was very calm and quiet, most drawing (or in Namjoon’s case, staring) until the bell rang for lunch.

“See you all soon! We will continue with our new student after lunch. Have a nice meal kids!” Ms. B called out as her class lined up and followed Seokjin to the lunchroom. After arriving, Namjoon grabbed his lunch bag from the bin and went over to sit down next to Hoseok.

“Hello Hobi.” Hoseok grinned, showing off his mouthful of sandwich.

“Hi Namjoon! So whatcha think the new kid will be like?” he asked as Yoongi set down his tray on the other side of Jimin (Taehyung taking up the other side) across the table.

“No idea…Hey, weren’t you in Mrs. Jade’s class, Taehyungie?” Namjoon asked, taking a bite of his sandwich. Taehyung nodded, swallowing before answering.

“Yep! I don’t know who would transfer over though…” Jimin “hmmed” around his mouthful of pasta.

“What was your class like?”

“What do you mean?”

“Like, who was in your class?”

“Oh…um. Well, there was this one girl who would always cry. I didn’t like her very much; she was too loud. And, um…there was one boy who would always try to steal my flower crown. But this oth- um, never mind. I didn’t really like that class though, Mrs. Jade is really mean.” Taehyung looked down suddenly in the middle of his sentence, shoving more of his sandwich into his mouth after he finished speaking. The others stared at him for a moment before turning back to their lunches.

“Sounds pretty fucked up.” Yoongi said, slurping his soup from his tray. Jimin tilted his head to the side, watching the blonde boy and looking slightly confused.

“What does that mean?”

“I don’t know, I just heard my brother say it.” Jimin pouted.

“You shouldn’t say things that you don’t know.”

“Well, I do know-”

“But you just said that you didn’t!”

“I just don’t know how to explain it-”

“Can we just eat in peace for once?” Hoseok complained, glancing at Namjoon for backup before sighing when he realized the younger boy was still staring across the room.

“What a lunch…” Hoseok muttered under his breath as he watched Jimin and Yoongi fight across the table, Taehyung trying to calm down both of them and Namjoon not even noticing what was going on as he watched Seokjin eat his lunch.
“Well, whatever. Maybe the new kid will be more interesting.”

~~~
After the bell ended the usual recess antics, the kids of class A-2 filed into the classroom to meet a smiling Ms. B.
“Hello again class! In a few minutes Mrs. Jade will be bringing in the new student. Please remember to be nice to him, and welcome him with open arms.” Taehyung lifted his arm shyly, Ms. B calling on him with a warm smile.
“Um, who is transferring over? You never told us their name…” Ms. B’s eyes widened slightly.
“Oh! I’m so sorry, it is Jeon Jungkook.” Taehyung stared at her in surprise, eyes wide and seemingly scared. “Is there something wrong, Taehyu-? Oh, that must be him now.” A loud knock at the door interrupted the young teacher, forcing her to walk over to the door and greet the older teacher.
“Hello, Mrs. Jade! Ah, and you must be Jungkook. Come right in, we’re all friends here.” Mrs. Jade entered immediately, a small boy with a head of messy black hair following close behind.
Mrs. Jade was an elderly lady with a tight bun of gray hair. The reason why she was a first grade teacher, of all things, was a mystery to every person in the school. Every kid that went through her class hated her with a fiery passion, and already from her four months of teaching at BES Ms. B did not like her one bit. However, she hid her dislike and smiled kindly to the rude old woman.
“Hello, Rebecca.” Mrs. Jade’s voice was of the smooth consistency of your average stuck up elderly woman, and she glared at Ms. B’s smile as she spoke. “I see that Taehyung is still in this class. I suppose it was inevitable that you would receive the other one.” Ms. B raised an eyebrow at the woman’s words, glancing at Taehyung worriedly before responding.
“The...other one? I don’t believe I know what you are speaking of, Mrs. Jade.” the older woman snorted.
“Of course you wouldn’t. Well, I suppose you will find out soon enough. You will find it is better to keep them apart; it is for their own good. Good day now.” Ms. B nodded, still slightly confused, as Mrs. Jade sashayed out the door.
“Good day.” She turned to the black haired boy, her already bright smile brightening even more as she held out her hand. “Why hello there! You must be Jungkook. It’s very nice to meet you. I’m Ms. B, your new teacher.” Jungkook watched her warily with wide eyes before nodding and shaking her hand slightly.
“I don’t know what Mrs. Jade’s class was like, but here you are free to be yourself.” Ms. B whispered to the young boy before standing up. Jungkook’s eyes widened, turning to Taehyung like a magnet before blushing and looking back down. Across the room Taehyung did the same, fiddling with a forget-me-not that had come loose of his flower crown.
“As you can see, class, this is Jungkook. Please welcome him warmly with our kind A-2 spirit.” the class nodded, watching Jungkook with growing interest. “Now then, why don’t you go over and sit next to Seokjin at the pink table. You can all get to know each other at recess, although I would like it if everyone would introduce themselves by standing up and presenting the pictures that you drew before lunch.” Seokjin waved Jungkook over, and the small boy rushed over to sit down and get out of the line of sight.
“So, would anyone like to start?” Hoseok raised his hand, grinning from ear to ear. “Alright, Hoseok, why don’t you start us off.”
“Okay~ I am Jung Hoseok, and I drew myself as a sun because I’m happy and full of energy and life!”
“That’s for sure…” Yoongi muttered under his breath. Ms. B turned to him.
“Yoongi, would you like to go next?”
“Ugh, fine. I’m Yoongi and I drew myself as a rock because that’s what I want to be.” Jungkook stared at the blonde boy for a moment (of whom hadn’t bothered to stand up and was still firmly seated in his chair) before Ms. B called on the next person. Eventually there were only two boys left to share, and Jungkook had a good idea of the people he would get to know. Seokjin especially, the nice boy that he had sat down next to and represented himself as a pink crown, seemed like a good idea to try and make friends with. Jungkook also found Namjoon interesting; he had stared at Seokjin the entire time and when he was called on had stuttered out his introduction and sat down as quickly as possible (he had forgotten to draw anything). Jungkook turned to the last kid, a fairly chubby boy with soft looking black hair; he avoided Taehyung, but was unable to stop glancing every few minutes.
“Alright, Jimin would you like to go next? And then I think that Taehyung is the last person to go.” Jimin nodded sweetly, brushing his black bangs back as he stood up to speak.
“I’m Park Jimin and I drew myself as flower petals because Crystal told me I dance like petals in the wind.” Ms. B smiled.
“Oh? Crystal Meyer?” Jimin nodded. “She’s a very good dancer. Alright, Taehyung, it’s your turn.” Jimin sat down, grinning at Taehyung as he stood up.
“Um…I-I drew myself as a flower crown b-because I like them.” Taehyung quickly sat back down, staring at the surface of the orange table. Ms. B looked at him, concerned.
“Aren’t you going to introduce yourself?”
“We know each other, we used to be in the same class.” Ms. B’s eyes lit up slightly in understanding at Jungkook’s response. The two made eye contact for a moment before looking away and blushing.
“Ah, got it. Well then, I’ll just continue on with the lesson. Would you please grab your textbooks? Jungkook, they are at the back of the classroom.”
Ms. B watched carefully as the students walked to the back of the classroom to grab the thick, red textbooks, questions floating around in her mind.
Well, I’ll just have to talk to them about it later. She thought to herself as she wrote down a large “345” on the board.
“Please turn to page 345. I will start reading when you are ready.” But I have to say, she thought, smiling softly, they make an adorable couple.
Chapter 2: Wishful Thinking; If Only it Was Real
Summary:
FLUFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
TW: this chapter has some mentions/describes the homophobia of some characters and the video that I give a link to at the end adds to this description. If it is a difficult topic for you, I recommend not watching the video, as while it is interesting it also hits on some painful ideas that may happen/have happened to you or someone close to you and bring up some painful memories. Other than that, though, it's just pure fluff <3
CHAPTER TWO
~~~

            Taehyung liked Jungkook. He liked him a lot. He might have even said that he loved him, with his soft hair and gentle smiles and kind words about his flower crowns (made by his precious mother, of whom worked in a flower shop and made them everyday for her son). Ever since he met him, the two of them hardly able to walk, Taehyung had adored the younger boy.

            The only problems came from the people around them. Jungkookie’s uncle. Mrs. Jade. Taehyung’s parents. They all didn’t seem to realize how deep Taehyung’s feelings for Jungkook were. Yes, Taehyung realized that they weren’t that old, that he hadn’t gained as much knowledge in his short life or understand everything, but he knew one thing.

            Taehyung loved Jungkook with his entire being. And he was pretty sure that Jungkook felt the same way, although one day on a playground made him question that.

            It was just a normal, sunny afternoon. It should’ve been happy and carefree; they were just children, after all.

   “Ta-”

   “Taehyung! Snap out of it!” Yoongi hissed under his breath. Taehyung glanced up quickly, just in time to hear their teacher ask him a question.

   “What do you think, Yoongi?” Their teacher (Mrs. Hadrian; she taught ninth grade social studies and was your average hardcore, white republican woman) gestured to the paused video that was shown on the screen as she spoke.

   “What do you think about the video we just watched?”

   “Uh, I found the way that the alternate reality was shown pretty interesting…” the teacher nodded.

   “Continue…”

   “And…uh, I guess just the way that they had the alternate reality in general to show the way that…those people feel was kinda cool too.” The middle-aged woman smiled coldly at his answer, but turned her head slightly to face Taehyung.

   “And what about you, Taehyung? What did you think of it?” Taehyung froze, glancing helplessly at Yoongi for an answer.

   “W-well-”

   “Maxine! How are you doing?” Mrs. Hadrian smiled widely as the principle, Mr. Shrink, walked into the classroom followed by two other students with brightly colored hair. Taehyung let out a breath, looking over the notes Yoongi scooted over while Mrs. Hadrian was distracted.

   “Hello, Daniel. What brings you here?”

   “Don’t tell me you forgot! You’ve got a new student for this class; remember?”

   “Oh yes, the new student. Class, this is our new student; would you introduce yourself? We were just watching this video on a sort of alternate universe and discussing how the makers used this alternate verse to convey their thoughts and feelings.” The first of the two (this one with bright orange hair that made him stand out like an orange on crack against the whiteboard) smiles widely before turning to the class.

   “Hello! I am Park Jimin; some of you may know me from BES?” Taehyung gasped, glancing up abruptly to stare at the boy. Beside him, he could feel Yoongi stiffen.

   “Chimchim?” Jimin grinned.

   “Taetae, hi~! Look, Kookie’s here too~” The boy beside Jimin blushed, glaring at Jimin as he shoved him forward.

   “Um, hi. I’m Jeon Jungkook…I also went to BES.”

   “Well, we’re glad to have you back! I’ll just leave them to you, Maxine.” Mrs. Hadrian smiled and nodded as Mr. Shrink walked out the door, chuckling loudly.

   “You can both side over by Taehyung for now, since you seem to know each other.” Jimin grinned while Jungkook rubbed the back of his neck, watching the ground awkwardly.

   “Okay~ Thanks Mrs. H.” the two walked over, sitting in the seats across from Yoongi and Taehyung. Jimin’s grin widened when he noticed Yoongi, pulling Jungkook into the chair beside him.

   “Hey, Yoongi.” Taehyung could see Yoongi visibly gulp out of the corner of his eye, silently laughing at his pain.

   “Hey, Jimin…uh, haven’t seen you in a while.” Jimin laughed slightly.

   “Yeah…no kidding.” He ran a hand through his bright hair. “We haven’t seen you for a long time either, Taetae. Kookie missed you~” Jungkook blushed, punching Jimin in the arm.

   “Uh…Hi hyung. Nice flower crown.” Taehyung grinned, resting his face in his hands.

   “Thanks Kookie~” Jungkook could feel his face heat up any more (if that was possible), turning his gaze to Mrs. Hadrian’s lecture at the front of the room.

            Taehyung stared lovingly at the back of Jungkook’s head, silently wondering if his fluffy brown hair was still as soft as it was four years ago. He could hear Jimin giggling from beside Yoongi, the green haired boy desperately trying to make eye contact with Taehyung in a silent plea for help. Taehyung sighed, memories of a younger Jungkook (and admittedly daydreams of the older one; somehow he got seriously ripped) flooding his brain.

            Oh…his lips look so soft…and his arms are so muscular…I wonder if he’ll notice if I poke them. Ehh, do it anyways. It’s for…research. Yeah, research.

            Before Taehyung could continue with his research, though, the bell rang thrice loudly, snapping him out of his daydreams. He pouted slightly, standing up and grabbing his binder to get to fifth period.

   “Hey, what class do you guys have after lunch?”

   “Not sure. They still need to print off our schedules first…” Jungkook said. Ooo~ his voice is so much deeper and cuter~ Taehyung giggled slightly at the thought. Yoongi sighed.

   “Can you guys just kiss and get it over with?” Jimin snorted at Jungkook’s attacked expression.

   “Yeah. You’re so gay for each other it’s not even funny. I’m so tired of listening to this little shit’s complaining for the past four years.”

   “It’s not like you haven’t complained just as much-” Taehyung laughed, quickly shoving his stuff into his locker before jogging down the hallway to catch up.

   “About Yoongi?”

   “Ignoring that last comment for the one before it; woah, you’re not even denying it.”

   “Seriously though. I’m glad you’re back.” Taehyung smiled up at the ever-blushing Jungkook, Yoongi and Jimin holding back their laughter from his silent screams of agony. “The lunch room is this way~”

            The group walked quickly down the hallways, joking and talking about the years they spent apart.

   “Why did you guys leave, anyways? Hoseok was heart broken when the two of you left, he’s gonna flip his shit when he sees you.” Yoongi asked a while later.

   “Ah, I felt bad about that…for me it was that my dad got a new job, but he ended up hating it more than the one here and that’s why we came back.” Jimin answered, tossing a plastic bag into the nearby trashcan. The group had moved outside after getting their lunches, making the most of the late autumn warmth.

   “Same for my dad. I asked them about it, actually, and it turns out that they work for the same company. My dad quit when yours did, though; I think that the manager changed and turned out to be this huge douche.” Yoongi snorted.

   “Wait, so you guys moved to the same place? I’m glad~” Taehyung tilted his head slightly, his face in his hands and elbows resting on his knees as he sat in the grass. He closed his eyes, smiling into the sunlight. Jungkook choked on his water.

   “I’m not; it was such a pain dealing with this idiot…he spent literally all of the four years whining about how much he missed Tae.” Jungkook punched Jimin’s arm, standing up and tossing his trash into the nearby can.

   “Shut up, you whined like twice as much as m- hh?!”

   “There. Happy now?” Yoongi deadpanned, Jimin staring for a minute before laughing and falling onto the mint haired boy’s lap.

            The sudden presence of Jungkook on top of him, more importantly his lips on top of his, hit Taehyung like a sack of bricks. Wahh~ He’s so warm and soft~ Taehyung could feel his face heat up, snapping his eyes open as Jungkook rolled off of him, both blushing intensely.

   “I- Uh, Ju-”

   “Yoongi, what the fuck!” Jungkook and Taehyung both sat up, Jungkook glaring at Yoongi and blushing while Tae stared at Jungkook, his hair slightly messy and- ah, fuck, not the time Jungkook. Just then the bell rang loudly, interrupting the moment. Taehyung’s eyes widened, grabbing his flower crown off the ground and Jungkook’s arm.

   “Wha-?”

   “Time for class, Jungkookie! I’ll see you later hyungs!” Taehyung called, pulling the younger boy after him, a constant message streaming through his mind.

            I missed you.

If only it could've been real....
