Chapter 1: PROLOGUE
Chapter Text
You were only 6 when you met him.
Your petite hand was clinging tightly onto your father’s bigger one. The two of you were walking down the sidewalk towards your favorite park. When a loud motorcycle passed on the street near you, you quickly placed your hands over your ears and hid behind your tall father. The older man chuckled at your behavior.
“You don’t have to be scared sweetie. Here,” He crouched down, his back facing you. He patted a spot on his back and smiled down at you. “Let me give you a piggyback ride.”
Your eyes instantly sparkled in excitement. You outstretched your arms cutely and climbed onto his back. When you were comfortable enough, he got onto his feet, holding onto your lower legs for support.
Your father was a pro hero named Genzo Otonari. Also known as ‘Wormhole’. He was able to create portals anywhere on Earth, though it requires lots and lots of energy to do so. You knew how hard it was for him to still have control of his quirk so it didn’t make him the quite famous one, but you were still proud of him, like any other daughter would be of her father.
You lived alone with him, since your mother abandoned the two of you right when you were born. He always told you that your eyes were the same as your mother’s. Just that yours had more life than hers, and that you had to promise him that they would stay like that forever. To which you just nodded your head, oblivious to the meaning behind his words.
You never met your mother, but still you never hated the woman. She probably had her reasons to why she left you guys in the first place. Your father also never said any bad words about her that would make you hate her. He had plenty of reasons to, but forcing some kind of hate on you would just distance you from him in the end.
Your father smiled when he saw a familiar face slowly approaching him. “Oi, Enji! Long time no see.“
The said male sighed, running his left hand through his spiky red-hair. “Genzo.” His voice was deep and gruff, it suited him.
You smiled at the man, this not being your first time seeing the second best hero, Endeavor, in real life. Since your father was good friends with him.
But what peeked your interest was the white and red haired boy who was standing next to Endeavor. He seemed to notice you too since he was looking straight at you. He sent you a shy smile, which you gladly returned with a more friendlier one.
“What brings you here?”
“Thought I should bring my son out to play a little. He’s been working so hard ever since he acquired his quirk. Thought that I should let him enjoy his youth a little." He patted the boy’s head. You were the only one who noticed how the boy tensed up under his touch, making you wonder why.
Your father scratched his cheek. “Jeez, this is the first time I saw you out here with your kid.” He crouched down so you could jump off his back, which you did. Your tiny feet hit the floor lightly, your gaze never tearing away from the boy’s.
“Why don’t we let our kids go play, and you and I can go chat a little.” Your father placed a hand at the top of it, giving you a small pat, making you giggle.
Endeavor nodded his head and gave his son a side way glance. “Shouto be nice to this young girl. I’ll be at that bench over there.” He started to leave with your father trailing behind him.
You walked towards the boy, with your arm outstretched to him. “I’m [First Name] Otonari! And you are?”
The boy looked at you with timid eyes. “I’m… Todoroki Shouto.” He fiddled with his fingers.
“How old are you?”
“I turned 4 not long ago...”
Your eyes widen slightly. “Wouu really? I’m 6! I guess that makes me older than you!”
He looked away from your eyes again and started walking towards one of the swings with you trailing behind him.
So, you were probably going to be the one asking questions.
“So… what’s your quirk?”
He turned his head around to look at you from the corner of his eyes. “Half-cold, Half-hot.” You cocked your head to the side in confusion. “Which means...”
“I have the ability to control fire and ice.”
You grinned at him once more. “I would show you my power,” you crossed your arms, pouting. “But my dad doesn’t let me show it off."
His eyes blinked in slight curiosity. “Why’s that?“
You pointed your thumb at yourself. “Because I have the ability to manipulate metal!”
Chapter 2: ONE
Chapter Text
Your eyes squinted in concentration. Shouto explained you the rules ten times already but you still couldn’t get how the ‘Rook’ had to be moved on the board. You hesitantly put a finger on it and pushed it three spaces diagonally.
“You’re doing it wrong.”
“Huh? No I’m not.” You pouted, hitting the mattress under you with your fist. He was probably right but you would never falter in anything before him. First he would always state (while you tried fighting him) that his fire quirk was stronger than yours since fire could melt metal.
You couldn’t deny that, he was right. But you still wouldn’t finish the argument without a fight.
Shouto sighed. “This,” He placed a finger over yours. “Is a ‘Rook’. They can only move forward, backwards, left and right.” He continued. “ ‘Bishop’ and ‘Promoted Bishop’ are the only ones that can move diagonally.” He locked his heterochromatic eyes with your [Eye color] ones. “Are you going to remember now?”
Your cheeks flushed under his intense gaze. You looked down at the board. “Yes.” Even though he younger than you, the boy was just better than you when it came to stealth.
Two years already passed when the two of you met. He was growing up faster than you. In these two years, Shouto had some kind of a… cold demeanor towards mostly everything. You asked him countless of times what happened to him but he would always change the topic.
You were more of a hyperactive type while he was the shy and aloof type. You liked to play in the rain and get all dirty from the mud, while he liked to play Shogi and watch the rain fall from the closed windows.
You talked numerous times with him about how you wanted to become a hero, like your father. He too wanted to become one, but you knew that he’d be better than you no matter what.
But hey, you were still 8 years old, plenty of things change when you get older.
You groaned loudly and raised your legs up, leaning them on the wall next to the bed, your head hanging at the end of his bed. “This is so boring! Can’t we go outside and play? Why do we always have to stay inside the house?” You took a piece from the board, twirling it between your fingers. But Shouto easily snatched it from you, much to your yelling protests.
“You know that Father doesn’t let me,” He placed the piece back on the board. “Besides,” He continued. “It doesn’t matter what we do, as long as we’re together.” He joyously smiled at you.
Your heart fluttered at his words. He knew that he could be so smooth. Then an idea popped in your head. You smirked deviously at him which the boy seemed to notice. His brow raised. “[First Name]-chan, what are you doi-“ He was cut off when you suddenly tackled him, straddling his waist. He cringed when he heard the Shogi board hit the floor, praying to God that it was still in one piece. He looked up at you, the life from his face draining when he saw you wiggling your fingers.
Uh oh.
“No, I’m begging you, spare me-“ But you already started tickling his sides. You were a merciless being when it came to sparing him with a tickle-session.
“BAHAH, NO, PLEASE, STOP IT!” He managed to say between laughs but you would never stop. You tried to stifle your giggles, his face was priceless. You decided that it was enough, because his face was starting to get blue. He took deep breaths, his entire face was flushed, and you being on top of him made his face ten times redder.
“I really like you.”
Your eyes widened.
“What?”
He averted his gaze to the side, a bit embarrassed to look at you straight in the eyes now. “Promise me that no matter what, we’re going to be best friends forever.”
Your eyes blinked, your mind trying to process the words coming from his mouth. You grinned at him, raising your pinky finger for him to take it.
“Promise.”
Chapter 3: TWO
Chapter Text
“Come on dad, faster!” You pulled your dad by his hand leading the way towards the Todoroki household. It’s been three months since the last time you saw the boy. School and practicing with your dad to get a hold of your quirk occupied most of your day.
“Okay okay,” Your father laughed. “You don’t have to pull me like that, ‘Ms. Impatience’.”
“We’re here!” You exclaimed and let go of your father’s hand. You skipped towards the front door. Genzo walked towards you and crouched down next to you. “I guess I’ll be on my way now. Call me when you want to come back home.”
You gave him a weird look. “Won’t you go with me?” You looked at him with puppy-dog eyes, the ones he couldn’t resist.
But he was obligated to do it now.
“You know that I’d love to, but I have work to do at the agency.” He patted your head, not able to hold his laughter when he saw how your nose scrunched from the sign of affection.
"Daaaad, I'm not a kid anymore." You poted, your arms crossing in front of your chest.
"You'll always be my little girl no matter what." He kissed the top of your head and straightened up. "Now, you be a good girl, okay?"
You grinned. “Will do!” You turned around and gave the door a light knock. The door was soon opened, revealing a white haired girl. Her brows furrowed for a moment, the action going unnoticed to you. “[First Name]-chan?”
“Hi Fuyumi-nee!” She moved to the side so you could enter the house.
“I haven’t see you in a while,” She closed to the door behind you. “How have you been doing?” She started walking towards the kitchen. Taking some sweets out for you, she placed them on a plate, on proceeded with making dinner.
“Ehh, you know, school and stuff.” You looked around the house. “Where’s Shouto-kun?”
You noticed that her shoulders stiffened at your question. “Umm, Fuyumi-nee?”
She shook her head. “He’s upstairs, doing his homework.” Your eyes brightened up. “Can I go see him?”
She smiled at you. “Of course! Oh and tell him that dinner will be served in fifteen minutes. You can stay up for it too.”
“Yaaay!” You ran up to her and hugged her torso, since she was taller than you. “Thanks!”
She patted your head. “Don’t mention it sweetie. Now go on, he’ll be thrilled seeing you!” You let go of her and started to run up the stairs towards Shouto’s room. You missed the dual-haired boy. He was actually your only friend. You never favorited the people from your class. You always though that all of them were weird. But they thought the same about you since you wanted to become a hero.
There was only one kid in your class who you liked and it was Togata Mirio, since you heard him mention once that he wanted to become a pro too. But the two of you weren’t friends really.
You found yourself standing in front of his door. The first floor felt eerie somehow to you. Usually his brothers would be running around the house but now the only person you encountered in the house today was Fuyumi. Not even their mother whom you’d always greet first when you came to visit.
You pushed those thoughts all the way back to your head and knocked on his door.
“Go away!”
Your brows furrowed. “Shouto, it’s me, [First Name]! I came to tell you that dinner will be finished soon!” You gripped onto your dress wondering what was wrong with him. “I don’t care, go away already!”
Oh no. He wasn’t going to get away with treating you like this. You slammed the door to his room open. Your brow raised when you saw him crouching in front of the window, holding his head in his hands. You walked towards him, outstretching your hand to grab him on the shoulder.
“Hey, what’s wrong-” He turned around fully to face you and slapped your hand away. “Don't touch me!” You gasped when you saw his face up close. “S-Shouto! Your face!” You went to run your fingers along his burned mark but he slapped your hand away once more. “I said don't touch me!” He spat.
Your brows furrowed angrily. This is not the Shouto you knew. You tackled him to the ground, trying to get through him in the best possible way you knew.
“Get off!” You ignored his protests and tried to grab the collar of his shirt but he smacked his falm on your cheek, trying to make some distamce between the two of you. He placed more pressure on his his hand and it now slided to the front of your chin. You looked down at him, strugling in your current position.
“What happened to you?!”
“Why the hell should you care about that?!”
You smacked his hand away. “Because you promised!”
He clicked his tongue in annoyance and tilted his head down to avoid your eyes, a shadow covering his eyes. “I don't give a shit about it. Promises are made to be broken!” He went to push you again with his right hand but in the end he accidentally scraped you. You felt something cold brush against your cheek, sending chills down your spine. You looked down at him, his eyes were wide and there was a drop of blood on his right cheek.
But the blood wasn't coming from him.
You placed a hand on your right cheek, a small gasp escaping your mouth. You looked at your fingers, the red liquid from them trailing all the way down to your palm.
Blood.
You immediately backed away from him. Your eyes drifted from ypur hand to Shouto who was still in a shocked state.
You couldn't believe that he used his quirk to hurt you.
“[First Name]...” He crawled towards you. He outstretched his hands towards you and got on his knees when he was close enough to you. He pulled your head towards his chest, trying to comfort you. “I'm sorry... I... didn't...” He couldn't finish hhis sentence because you pushed him away from you and started sprinting out of his house, ignoring his yells and apologies.
You rushed past Fuyumi who was also calling after you. You just wanted to get away from here. After a few minutes of running, you spotted a familiar park to your right. You pushed the small gates of the park open and started runing towards the swings you always played at. While you were close to the swings, you tripped over something and fell, scraping your knees along the way.
“Promise me thst no matter what, we're going to be best friends forever.”
You sobbed loudly. The only friend that you had hurt you. Intentionally or not, you didn't give a damn at the moment.
Lies.
All the things he said, they were lies all this time.
Your head perked up when you heard the sound of metal screeching. Your head shot up, looking at the swing in horror. It was entirely bended.
You knew that it was your doing, since this wasn't the furst time something similar happened while your thoughts were corrupted with bad emotions and thoughts. You brushed the tears from your face and got up on your feet. You inspected your knees, which were bloodied now.
You were a mess.
You sniffled and wiped the blood from your wond with the back of your hand. You turned around and started walking towards your home, knowing that ypur father was going to attack you with million questions about what happened and why you were back so early.
The only thing you knew at the moment was that you never wamted to see Todoroki Shouto ever again in your life.
Chapter 4: THREE
Chapter Text
Your eye twitched at the message you received.
From: Naked-Bara Idiot
Want to go to the mall with me and Tamaki after your detention? :3
You started typing, your fingers almost breaking your phone’s screen from how hard you were pressing your fingers onto it.
To: Naked-Bara Idiot
I know you’re mocking me with that cat-face Mirio! I wouldn’t be in this mess if it wasn’t for you! And since when does Amajiki like going to malls? Those places are too crowded for him.
You chuckled just by thinking about the spiky haired boy getting anxious by walking through a place full of people.
He did have social problems but you have already been hanging around with him for six years.
And with Mirio.
You never much talked to Mirio when you were in middle school, until the day Tamaki Amajiki transferred into your class. On his first day, when he was introducing himself, he confessed that he wanted to become a pro hero one day. This caught your intention and at the end of the day you actually swallowed your guts and approached him. At first, he was too shy and aloof to answer you back, but in the end, he liked your presence and you liked his. He kind of reminded you of the dual-haired boy when you first met him.
Your eyes shot open in realization.
Why the hell am I thinking about him?
You shook your head, trying to think about the memories of your new best friends.
Mirio was the joker type. Always was always will be. While you were in the middle. But nonetheless, the three of you made a great team. All three of you made a deal that you would apply for Yuuei. And you passed. So at the very moment, you were freshmen of Yuuei.
And then came Hadou Nejire. She was the ‘speak-of-her-mind’ type. Even though she was a natural air head, you loved her no matter what and she was like a sister to you.
Your race of thoughts were distracted by your phone buzzing. You sighed when you read the text through your locked phone, your head hitting the desk in annoyance.
From: Naked-Bara Idiot
Come on, don’t be angry with me! It’s your fault for almost breaking my nose! You know how my quirk works, it’s not my fault that my clothes disappeared while we were sparing! :’(
Your face flushed at the memory. He was such an idiot. Just when you were about to insult him, another message from him prevented you from doing so.
From: Naked-Bara Idiot
If you come with us I’ll treat you to you [Favorite Dish]! You know you can’t say no to that! ٩(θ‿θ)۶
You sighed. He was right, you couldn’t simply pass the opportunity of Mirio treating you to your favorite food.
To: Naked-Bara Idiot
Fine, I’ll be there after class. Meet me at the fountain.
You turned your phone off and placed it in the pocket of your uniform. You rested your elbows on your desk and waited for Aizawa-sensei to come and suck the living soul out of your body with his lectures.
“What took you so long? And why is your face so pale?” Mirio poked your cheek, but you didn’t even have enough strength to swat his hand away. “Aizawa-sensei really did his thing on you, huh?”
“Mirio, stop teasing her, can’t you see how immobile she looks right now?” Amajiki defended you and placed a hand on your shoulder.
You barely turned your head around to look at the boy. “Thanks, Amajiki-kun,” You looked back at Mirio. “Okay naked boy, time for food. Right. Now.” He scratched his neck embarrassingly. “Heh, about that.”
“Mirio please don’t go stomping on my daydreams about eating-”
“I forgot my wallet at home.”
“And there you fucking go, you really had to ruin it naked boy, huh?”
Amajiki sighed. “I’ll go dig your grave Mirio.”
“How did you forget it?” Your glare darkened, making the taller boy flinched. “I’m sorry! I hurried out of the house because I was being late and just forgot!”
“I don’t care! Go back home and come back here with money! You have ten minutes!”
Amajiku butted in. “Umm, I can just buy you food. It's no big deal.” He said while timidly scratching his cheek.
“What?! I’m not going back! And I wouldn’t make it in ten minutes!”
“Well use that quirk of yours to go through walls or something!”
“How is that going to make me any faster?!”
Amajiki’s eye twitched. The two of you just totally ignored him. He sighed and turned around. He wasn’t in the mood to listen to your hungry-mood bitching. “I’ll just go, you guys wait here.”
“You really irritate me sometimes you know that.” You crossed your arms across your chest. “Aww, come on [Nickname]-chan! I’m really sorry!”
“No can do.” Your blinked in confusion. “Hey, where did Amajiki go?”
“Hm?” Mirio looked at the place where the boy was standing seconds ago to find it empty.
You started to freak out. “He can’t go alone through crowds,” You grabbed Mirio by the collar of his shirt. “What if he gets an anxiety attack?” You started shaking the blonde. “What if he gets kidnapped?!”
Mirio grabbed you by the shoulders. “Calm down!” You took deep breaths, trying to calm yourself down. “You’re over exaggerating! I’ll go this way,” He pointed with his thumb behind him. “And you go that way,” He pointed with his index finger at an long road behind you. “Okay?”
You nodded your head. “The one who finds him calls the other.” He nodded his head and sprinted away, you doing the same.
There were so many people in the mall that you didn’t know how you were going to find him.
Fifteen minutes passed and you were still searching for your classmate and best friend. At that moment you saw a flash of spiky black hair and smiled in triumph.
It has to be him. There’s no mistake with that height and hair.
You fought your way through the crowd, getting closer inch by inch. When you were finally close enough to him, you grabbed him by the shoulder and turned him around.
But that man wasn’t Amajiki.
Your eyes widen at his appearance. Parts of his skin was normal while the other parts were purple and wrinkled. Those patches of skin were held together by some kind of stitches. The place where the bags under his eyes were meant to be was also purple and wrinkled and held by those stitches.
“Take a picture, it lasts longer.” He said with a smug grin.
Or was he always grinning? You couldn’t tell from the stitches.
“Huh?” You haven’t realized that you were actually staring at him with your mouth slightly agape. You gasped, your cheeks blushing in embarrassment.
"I’m so s-sorry! That was so rude of me!” You hid your face with your uniform’s sleeve.
“Don’t worry girly. I got used to be stared at. No need to apologize.” He assured you.
You looked back at him, noticing the color of his eyes now. The blue color, it was the same as-
“Shouto’s.”
“Huh?” He gave you a funny look, but was kind of amused by you speaking your mind out loud.
You flailed your arms in front of you, getting flustered once more. “I’m sorry again, this is so awkward! I should just be going,” You turned around, giving him one last glance. “See you around!” And you were off to continue with your search for Tamaki.
The stranger was looking at you until you were no longer in his sight. The way your skirt swayed behind you brought a sly grin on his face.
“Yeah, see you around.”
Chapter 5: FOUR
Chapter Text
“Wouu, Aizawa-sensei is still holding a grudge against you, huh?” Your classmate, Nejire asked you while picking a fried shrimp with her chopsticks.
You groaned in annoyance while rubbing your bandaged wrist. “Yeah. He really got angry at the fact of me getting disqualified during the Sport Festival.” You rested your left cheek on your left hand while poking the shrimps on your plate. For the past week you've had ‘detention’ and the ‘classes’ were lectured by Aizawa. Though the man had a twisted view on detentions. So now you had bandages covering most parts of your body.
Nejire munched on her shrimps with a face that you found irresistibly cute. “My opinion is that you didn’t had to punch Mirio so hard by breaking his nose,” She stuffed her mouth with three more shrimps. “Not to mention that in the end you fainted.”
An irk mark appeared on your forehead. “Every piece of his clothes VANISHED, what would you do if a guy that you’re fighting was in his birthday suit all of a sudden?!”
“I probably wouldn’t faint. I understand if it’s the first wiener you saw in your life but trust me, it’s not gonna be your last.” She stated bluntly while pointing her chopsticks at your direction.
“NEJIRE!” Your face exploded in embarrassment. Heck even your ears were red as a tomato. You covered your face in your hands.
“I’m just stating the obvious,” She ate her last shrimp and eyed your plate that was the same when you sat at the cafeteria to eat lunch. “Are you gonna eat that?”
You pushed your plate towards her. “Knock yourself out.” The thought of that made you lose your appetite. That memory of the Sport Festival is going to hunt you for the rest of your life.
“Is my speech causing you some dirty pictures in your mind, [First Name]-chan?”
“WILL YOU STOP TALKING ABOUT THAT ALREADY!”
“Shit.” You mumbled under your breath while the rain started to pick up, the fact that you were without an umbrella made things worse for you. Right when you exited to school grounds a heavy rainstorm occurred and honestly you though that this day couldn’t get any worse.
You hid under a buss station and hugged your body, trying to calm down your shivering. Your teeth started to clatter from the coldness.
Why didn’t I bring a jacket with me?
Suddenly your entire view was blocked by something dark and warm. You blinked in surprise and removed the object from your face so that it covered most of your head and back now. You felt the material under your fingers to notice that it was a-
Jacket?
You turned your head around, your eyes widening a bit. There was a man standing only in a white T-shirt and dark blue pants. There was a belt to keep his pants in place. You noticed that the jacket was the same color as his pants so it just had to belong to him.
“Umm excuse me…” He turned around to face you and you remembered him instantly.
It’s that guy from the mall.
“Yes?” He slurred the words out and you couldn’t help but to think how his voice suited his entire persona.
“Do you remember me?” You asked. “That only explains why you covered me with your jacket.”
His eyebrow rose, a sly smile forming on his lips.
“Turn around.”
“Huh?”
“Make a little spin.” You hesitated for a moment but did as he asked. You slowly turned around and raised your eyebrow at him in question.
“Now I remember.” He grinned at you, showing his teeth off a little. You looked at him dumbfounded, cocking your head to the side. “Eh?”
“I remember you from the Sport Festival,” He answered. “You’re that girl that punched that naked guy and then fainted after that.”
Your face flushed. “Hey! That was the most traumatic experience in my entire life. He was fully naked in front of me, not to mention that it was my first time facing a naked guy!”
He smirked teasingly at you. “Well he’s not gonna be the last one I tell ya.”
“Not you too!” You covered your face with his jacket. How could you let yourself get teased by a total stranger on the streets?
His smirk only widened, ignoring the fact that you were totally oblivious at what he was pointing. “Don’t worry girly, I’m just messing with ya. No need to get so flustered.” A bus stopped on the station where the two of you were hiding under from the rain. “This is my ride. See you around.” He started to walk towards the bus.
You uncovered your face with his jacket. “W-wait!” You ran towards him, but he was already on the bus.
His eyes blinked when you outstretched your hand for him to take the jacket. “This is yours! I can’t keep it!”
He smirked slyly at you and went to take the jacket from your hands. When he grabbed it, he pulled onto it, yanking you towards him also. “Keep it, until we meet again.” His hot breath brushed against your ear, sending chills all over your body. He pulled back, giving you one last smile. Until the doors were shut and you were left alone on the rain.
But the buss just had to splash you with water the moment it took off. You screamed and hugged your body on instinct. “Fuck my life. So cold…” You covered yourself with the jacket, thinking about if you and the stranger are ever going to meet again as he said.
Chapter 6: FIVE
Chapter Text
Beep.
You hummed in your sleep and turned your head around, facing the wall.
Beep.
You groaned, putting a pillow over your head to mute the sounds.
Beep.
“Ugh, just five more minutes.” You pressed the sides of the pillow harder against your ears. You smiled when the alarm clock stopped making any sounds and slowly started drifting to sleep again.
Minutes later your eyes fluttered open once more. You lazily rubbed your eyes with one hand and placed the other over your mouth to stifle a yawn. You looked at the clock from the corner of your eye, fully widening them when you noticed what time it was.
It read 7:30 am.
You rolled out of your bed, falling face first. “Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit!” You got up and started running towards your bathroom. You quickly brushed your teeth while desperately trying to wiggle your bottom so they could fit in your thights. You spit the toothpaste in the sink and rinsed your mouth.
Your father was drinking his coffee and reading his newspaper. He jumped in his seat when he heard a loud thumping noise coming from the living room. He nearly got a hear attack when you came barging into the kitchen. "Jesus [First Name], you nearly killed your old man," He placed his hand on his chest. "I thought you already went to school." He sweat dropped when you placed three toast in your mouth.
You tried answeing him but your words were muffled from ypur mouth being stuffed with food. You stormed out of your house, leaving a confused Genzo who went back sipping on his coffee.
"I could've just made a portal to her school," He placed his mug on the table, flipping another page of his newspaper. "Meh, not my problem."
Dropping down on a free seat in the train, you tried to catch your breath. This was the fastest you ever ran in your life. It wasn't your first time that you were running late for school, but somehow you would always get on time. You switched your seat with the one next to the window since you loved looking at the scenary while driving. You rested your cheek in your palm while looking through the window. You could actually see your school from here, but it needed at least five to ten minutes with train to get there.
"Is this seat taken?" A voice next to you asked you but the scenery was so breathtaking that you hadn't even bothered to look at the person.
"No, you can sit." The person brushed their shoulder against ypurs once they sat, but you were still too enchanted by the city that almost looked like it was engulfed in trees that just started blooming.
Today was actually your first day of your third year in U.A. Your school time was coming to an end and to you it felt like you were a first year just yesterday. You smiled to yourself, you were so close to becoming a pro finally.
The bus came to a halt, and it was your time to get off the train. "Excuse me, this is where I-" Your eyes widened when you looked at the person who was also getting up.
"Hm?" Heterochromatic eyes locked with your [Eye Color] ones. "Don't worry, this is my stop too." He said as he started walking towards the train's exit. You still stood there in your seat, dumbfounded. It was no mistake, you knew it was him. Who else had different eye and hair color like that?
Todoroki... But, he totally didn't recognize me.
An irk mark appeared on your forehead and your teeth started gritting so hard they almost broke.
Todoroki!
Of course he was going to enroll in U.A. It was the most prestigious school for young people who aspired to become pros.
But you still held a frudge against him for what happened a decade ago.
You had the right to be angry with him.
And now he didn't recognize you. Who does he think he is?
You sighed as you walked off the train towards your school. You looked at your watch thanking the heavens that you weren't late at least.
"And that's why Sir Nighteye is so cool!" Mirio beamed while fistbumping the air. You sighed. Mirio has been telling you stories about how Nighteye put so much into training him ever since the man employed him for his internship.
You were actually felt happy for Mirio because he amongst the four of you has thrived the most.
Mirio, Amajiki and Nejire were now known as the Big Three, the strongest trio in the school and they were. They looked at you as the fourth member but you were nothing but the class representative. Which was still a good thing.
"I'm glad that you're happy with your Internship," You smiled at the blonde.
"Aren't you happy training under Fatgum? I know that Tamaki is," He patted your head. "You always told us how cute he is!" He laughed as he dodged your fist that was aimed at his head.
"Shut up! Of course I'm happy," You slapped your hands on your still flustered cheeks and started rubbing them. "Besides, I still think he's cute. He's so big and fluffy and funny. He's the best teacher I ever had. Even though he mostly just absorbs my every attack." You crossed your arms over your chest and puffed your cheeks out. You felt a muscular hand slap your back which almost made you hit the floor face first.
"Don't worry! You still learned a lot! I still can't believe why people started calling us The Big Three instead of The Big Four! You're way crazier than us!"
"Yeah, but my quirk has more weaknesses than yours. Fire for example." You explained to him.
"But who has a fire quirk except Endeavor? It's not like we're gonna run into someone that easily." The two of you took a turn but you bump into someone's chest. You took a step back and looked up, bitting the inside of your cheek at the familiar face.
Of course, you just had to run into him out of all people.
"I'm sorry, I should've watch where I was going." Todoroki apologized as he walked past you, not sparing you a second glance. You sternly followed his figure, burning holes at the back of his head until he took a turn at the other hallway and was out of your sight.
Mirio who was still next to you snickered. "Damn, talk about cold demeanor."
Your brows furrowed. "You wouldn't even want know." You continued with walking towards your classroom, leaving a confused Mirio behind you. He tilted his head to the side, trying to process your words in his mind.
"Huh, what do you mean by that?"
Chapter 7: SIX
Chapter Text
“What am I supposed to buy again?” You asked yourself as the sliding doors to the supermarket opened for you.
You couldn't believe that the Sport Festival came so quick and was over already. You weren't so great like the last two years, you even had second thoughts about participating this year, but in the end you decided that you should. This was your last year anyways.
The weekend came quicker than you thought and during weekends was your Internship training. It goes like that – during work days you go to school and on the weekend – you had your ‘part time job’ as a hero.
But what you didn’t know that it included shopping for your Internship teacher.
Fatgum was… well, he was a big eater indeed. By eating constantly he is able to maintain his defensive power which made him look… pretty big.
Being the only girl employed under him you were in charge of providing them with food.
Tamaki had to eat various of foods also so he could manifest the stuff he eats on his body.
Weird quirk, but very powerful indeed.
You tried finding the things Fatgum listed for you to buy. First you went to find a huge bag of candies, since he always needed to have those in his pockets.
After you were done with buying every single article from the snack section you went over to the section with spices, trying to find a bottle of soy sauce. You looked for it through the shelves that your height reached but you couldn’t find it. Your gaze was slowly rising up, until your eyes found it.
On the highest shelf.
Your eye twitched.
Are you kidding me? How am I going to reach that?
You looked around, hoping that some of the employees was near by. But to your great luck, no one was around you.
You groaned as you looked back at the bottle, and decided that you were going to get it. Easy way or hard way, it didn’t matter.
You stood up on your tippy toes as you desperately tried to reach for the last shelf. But you barely even reached the second to the highest one. You groaned when you realized how close you were but still so far.
You unconsciously started climbing on the shelves. Thank God that no one was around you. You outstretched your hand and grabbed the bottle. Your eyes shimmered happily. “Yes!” You raised your other hand victoriously.
But gravity decided to be your worst enemy at the moment. You lost your balance and one of your foot slipped.
Oh shit!
You cursed internally and closed your eyes, waiting for your back to hit the floor. But the impact never came. You slowly started to open your eyes, your [Eye Color] meeting heterochromatic ones. Your eyes widen.
Todoroki?
He was holding you by your armpits, his face mere inches from yours as he was looking down at you. His bangs slightly tickled your forehead and you couldn’t help but blush at the closeness.
“Are you okay?” His voice actually sounded concerned. He helped you regain your balance. “Next time when you try to get something that is out of your reach, ask for help.”
Your eye twitched. “So you saw what I was doing and you refused to give me a hand?” You placed your hands on your hips.
He raised an eyebrow at you. “I had no idea that you were going to slip and fall.” He handed you the soy sauce that were trying to get in the first place, but as you were falling you dropped the bottle.
And he managed to catch you and the bottle. He sure had fast reflexes. “It’s not a problem for me to help someone that I know.”
Your eyes sparkled at his words. “Y-you remember… who I am?” Of course he was going to remember his childhood friend. Maybe it did took him some time but in the end he still knew who you were.
“Yeah, you go to my school right? I bumped into you on the halls once. Sorry again for that.”
You wanted to bang your head on to one of the shells so hard. Was he that oblivious? Has your appearance changed that much?!
But on the outside you just sent him a the most fakest smile you could pull, hoping that the way your eye twitched wasn’t showing off how annoyed you actually were. “Yup, I’m her. Don’t worry, you don’t have to apologize, it was my fault also.”
He nodded his head. “I have to go now,” He started walking away from you. “See you at school.”
You waved your hand at him. “Sure, see ya.”
As much as you wanted for him to not get into your life again, you also wanted for him to remember you.
Next time you were going to make sure that he’ll remember you no matter what.
"Aren’t you going to eat your lunch?” Your father Genzo asked you while he was done serving the table. You were on the couch, chatting with Nejire about your math homework.
“Not hungry yet.”
He shook his head at you, your eyes still glued on the screen. “Fine, but don’t come raging at me when I eat everything.” He grinned victoriously when you dropped your phone and started walking towards the table. “Thought so.”
You took the chopsticks in your hand and started slurping on the ramen noodles. They were perfect, just like every time your father made them. “So how is your internship with Fatgum going?” You raised your head up to look at him as you slurped a noodle in. “Fine I guess.”
He eyed you questioningly. “Just fine? I thought you loved it. Guess I’ll need to have a word with Taishiro the next time I see him.”
You scoffed. “Typical you,” You wiped your mouth with the back of your hand. “But don’t worry he’s a great teacher. It’s just that some other things are going through my head right now.”
“Oh, and what’s that?”
Not sure if you should ask your dad about his personal life, your gaze fell down on the now half empty bowl of ramen. But you wanted to know this one little detail, so you asked him in the end. “Are you still friends with Endeavor?” You looked up at him when you didn’t get the answer right away. He was looking at you, his mouth slightly agape. “Umm, dad, are you okay? Did I say something wrong?”
Your dad brushed the uneasiness off and pulled a smile on his face instead. “No, it’s okay hun. And no, I’m not anymore, for a longer time.”
Your brow raised. “Why? Did something happen?” You noticed that this subject was hard for him to speak about so you decided that it was best for you to drop it. “Dad, if you don’t want to talk about it, it’s okay.”
“No,” He placed the chopsticks on the table. “I think that you should know.” He inhaled and continued on. “After that incident you had with Shouto-kun, I found out that Enji’s wife was in a mental hospital. He was abusing her. Right after they got married.”
Your eyes widen at hearing this. That poor woman, has been abused by her wife.
And Shouto probably witnessed all of that. Even his brothers and sister. “I… I can’t believe it.” Turns out that the number two hero was actually an abuser in his family.
You noticed that Genzo’s fists clenched. “I couldn’t believe it either… My long-term friend… acting like that towards his family. I couldn’t be friends with that kind of person anymore. But I never told anyone, except you now.”
Now, after all these years, you came to understand Todoroki Shouto a bit more. But you still wanted more answers.
Because this situation is not something to be taken lightly of.
Genzo looked at his phone when it beeped. The message was from the Hero chat, the chat where all heroes communicated through about when there was an attack of some sort or things similar to that. His eyes widen when he read the message. “There’s a villain attack just three minutes from here.” He put the phone back down. “They need help.”
You instantly pushed your chair back and jumped off, running towards the door. “[First Name], where do you think you’re going?!”
You looked back at him, a dead serious look in your eyes. “If they need help they’re going to get it.” You opened the door and sprinted out.
Genzo sighed, grabbing his head in his hands. “At least you could’ve put your hero costume on.”
He began to think that you liked to fight in school uniform more.
Chapter 8: SEVEN
Chapter Text
Todoroki panted as he wiped the blood from his left cheek. That Hero Killer bastard managed to cut him but at least he stopped him while he was so close to get a taste of his blood.
Motherfucker.
Iida was the one who tried to attack him, because he wanted revenge for his now disabled brother, who had to give up on being a hero. And now Midoriya and Tododoroki got involved in the entire thing also.
At least Todoroki finally managed to pull Iida out of his senses and now the three of them were trying to upper hand the villain.
Though easier said than done.
Just when he was about to land another attack on them something flew at his head, knocking him at the side.
“What was that?” Midoriya asked. Someone from behind them cleared their throat. The three turned around, their eyes wide at the [Hair Color] haired girl standing before them.
“Don’t worry, he won’t wake up for a long time,” You placed your hand on your hip. “I put a lot of force into it.” You eyed the three of them, your eye twitching when they landed on the dual-haired Todoroki.
You frowned at them. “Are you three out of your minds? Fighting villains while you haven’t gotten your Provisional Hero License yet? You know that’s illegal, right?” You sighed as the three of them looked at each other, worry written on their faces. “I’m not going to snitch on you guys, but I’m just warning you. You can get into some serious trouble.”
“Sorry…” Iida apologized to you as his head bowed down. “I was trying to save that pro over there.” He pointed at the man that was lying on the floor. He looked like he was paralyzed. You rubbed your temple. “It’s okay, you were trying to help him.”
Just try to explain that to the police. They’ll surely find out.
You thought to yourself. You could take cover for them, but who knows if that would work.
As the four of you were tying the Hero Killer’s wrists with a rope, the green haired boy started asking you questions. “So, you go to Yuuei, right?” You looked at him and he pointed at your school uniform. “Oh yeah, I believe you’re an underclassmen, right?”
He gave you a puzzled look. “Under… classmen?” You smirked at his confused expression. “I’m a third year.”
Unbeknownst to you and Midoriya, Todoroki was listening closely to the two of you conversing.
“T-third year?! Wou, you’re so experienced!” His eyes sparkled in excitement. “So, what’s your quirk, if I’m allowed to ask?”
You smiled at him. “It’s Ferokinesiss. I have the ability to control metal at my own will.”
Todoroki stopped what he was doing. He looked at you, taking in your entire appearance.
No, it can’t be her.
You got up on your feet. “Okay boys, we’re taking him to the police department. They’ll know what to do with him once we get there.” The pro hero was carrying Midoriya on his back and Todoroki was the one pulling the Hero Killer.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t that much helpful to you guys,” The pro hero started. “I was just a burden to you.”
“No,” Midoriya began. “A one-on-one fight against him, I don’t think there’s anything you could have done. He’s just too strong.”
“Even three against one we just managed to land a hit on him,” Todoroki’s gaze fell on you. “If it weren’t for… um,” His brows furrowed, trying to remember your name, even though you never introduced yourself.
I had introduced myself, 12 years ago.
You smiled even though your brow was twitching every two seconds. “How rude of me for not introducing myself,” You hoped that they couldn’t hear the sarcasm in your voice. “My name is-”
“WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE BOY?!”
The five of you turned around to see a small old man walking towards you.
“Gran Torino!!” Midoriya exclaimed as the old guy returned the greeting with a kick to his face. “I told you to sit down, didn’t I??!”
You sweat dropped at the scene of Gran Torino scolding Midoriya for running away from his sight not long ago.
A bunch of other pros came running your way with disbelief on their faces once they noticed that you managed to catch the Hero Killer.
“DUCK!!”
You turned around, your eyes widening when you saw a huge monster flying your way. You quickly ducked, but it grabbed Midoriya in the end.
“The fuck is that?!” You raised your right hand up, ready to fire projectiles of metal, but you were afraid that you were going to hurt Midoriya instead of that thing.
All of a sudden, the Hero Killer broke free from the ropes that were tied around his wrists and torso. He freed Midoriya and killed the creature that almost took him away.
The hell was happening here?
You were standing outside of the infirmary while the boys were getting scolded by the police.
You weren’t eavesdropping on their conversation, pft.
Okay maybe you were, just a little.
You knew that the three were going to get in trouble. You almost got too, until you showed them your Hero License.
The door opened, Tsuragamae Kenji, the Chief of the Police Force came walking out first. Your eyes locked with his canine like ones. The two of you were familiar with each other, since he knew your father even before you were born.
“Otonari,” You nodded your head at him in response. “I believe those three will hear you out more than me. You are close in age after all.”
You sighed. “I’ll talk to them.” You didn’t even bother to say bye to him as you entered the infirmary.
Now that you took a closer look, they were pretty much beaten up. Of course they would be, this was their first time engaging in a fight with a villain.
Midoriya smiled when he saw you coming through the door. “Oh, Otonari-san, it’s you.” On your way to the infirmary you introduced yourself to the green haired boy since you were the one carrying him to the amulance. You learned that he was a huge All Might fan which you found cute.
You sighed. “You guys,” You shook your head. “I know how much you want to help others, but you need to think about the consequences also…” While you were holding your speech, you missed the look Todoroki was giving you.
His mind flash backed to the moment before you came to the infirmary.
After the Hero Killer’s speech about how he wanted to make the world a better place, his father came running towards the incident.
“Endeavor, sir, are you okay?” One of the pro’s asked him and he started explaining how the Nomu escaped from him and he was chasing after him.
The boy’s eyes blinked when he felt a deadly aura coming from someone who was close to him. He turned his head around which ended up going your way. Your head was hung low, shadows covering your eyes.
Why did your mood change all of a sudden?
Endeavor seemed to notice the deadly aura from you too. When his eyes landed on you, they narrowed. “Otonari, you’re here too, I see.”
Shouto’s eyes widened. There couldn’t be any other Otonari that his father knew other else than Otonari [First Name] that grew up with him.
It was you.
His eyes roamed over your appearance. You changed a lot from the last time he saw you, your hair color and remained the same as ever. It was shiny as always. He slapped his forehead.
How come he couldn’t recognize you before. He really was an oblivious idiot.
He wanted to talk to you. But not in front of Iida and Midoriya, he needed to be alone with you. He wanted to catch up.
But…
He hurt you, he couldn’t ignore that. You too probably recognized him. That’s why you were always looking at him funny.
You hated him.
But he wanted to fix that.
Right now.
“That’s all, I have to go home, my dad is waiting for me. He’s going to get worried if I stay any longer.” You said goodbye to them, ignoring Todoroki’s frozen face when you stepped out of the infirmary room.
What’s his proble-
You couldn’t finish your thought because you were engulfed into a breath taking (literally) hug. Your face was pressed against someone’s chest and their head was resting on your shoulder. You looked to the side, strains of white hair blocking your vision.
Todoroki…
“Where were you all these years?” He whispered into your eye, sending tingles down your spine. He moved his head from your shoulder, his heterochromatic eyes meeting your [Eye Color] ones. There was this unfamiliar emotion in his eyes that for some odd reason made your heart flutter.
You pushed him away from you, anger boiling in your chest. “Where was I? Did you ever tried asking yourself was it maybe your fault?!” You yelled at him. The nerve at this guy.
He reached his hand out for you. “[First Name], I can explain everything from back then.” He winced when you slapped his hand away.
“No,” You pointed your index finger at him, giving him a cold look. “Explain it some other time, I don’t have time for your damn excuses now.” You turned on your heel and started walking away, the sound of your footsteps echoing in the empty halls, as Todoroki followed your figure until you were out of his sight.
He was going to try.
Try until you forgive him.
You will eventually.
And he was going to have you back in his life again
Chapter 9: EIGHT
Chapter Text
“SUMMER BREAK IS COMING SOON!” Mirio skipped happily around the halls while exclaiming loudly.
“You do know that we have to take care of the End-of-term exams before that.” You said while walking next to him. He stopped in his tracks, his mood gradually changing to a gloomy one. “Sorry bro, you know the drill.” You shrugged your shoulders as you walked past him.
“Hey!” He ran towards your side. “I really need help with math, and you're so good at it,” He stepped before you and grabbed you by the shoulders. “Pretty please [First Name]-chan!” He started shaking you back and forth.
Do we have to repeat the same scene every time before the exams?
You took a deep breath and sighed. “Fiiiiine,” He stopped shaking you and made eye contact with you. “Only if you promise to treat me to food until the exams end.” Next thing you knew that your face was pressed against Mirio’s hard (sexy) toned chest.
“Thank you thank you thank youuuu!” Your hands flailed around as you tried to escape from his tight hold. He let go of you when he got the message. “Sorry.” He smiled apologetically as you tried to catch your breath.
Idiot.
“[First Name].” A voice behind you called your name, startling you. You turned around, your surprised face turning into a not so pleasant one.
“Todoroki, what do you want now?” You straightened up, crossing your arms on your chest while tapping your foot on the floor.
“I have something for you.”
“If it’s from you,” You turned around. “Then I don’t want it.” Right when you were about to walk away he grabbed your wrist, holding you in place. “It’s from Aizawa-sensei,” He tightened his grip. “He wants you to come to his office later, he need to talk to you.”
A shiver ran down your spine at his words. You remembered all the detention classes you had while you were a freshman under that man.
“Fine,” His hold on your wrist loosened and you took this opportunity to yank your hand from his hold. “I’ll go right away.”
“[First Name], wait!” He called after you and you actually stopped and turned around to look at him.
He did not expect that.
“What?” Your brows furrowed. “I ain’t got all day, spill it.”
All of a sudden he started to get embarrassed even before the question he wanted to ask you came out. He started to blush, holding his left cheek in his palm to cool it down. Trying hard enough to not make eye contact with you.
This was even embarrassing for someone like Todoroki Shouto.
“Do you…” He took a deep, long, shaky breath. “Want to go… home with me?”
The silence was killing him slowly. He decided to look at you, perhaps he was going to read your emotions by looking at you.
“No.” Pain struck through his chest at your answer. But even before he raised his head up, you were already on your way to Aizawa’s office.
Mirio, who was witnessing the whole scene, waved at Todoroki and went to catch up with you.
The dual-haired boy let out a sigh he didn’t know he was holding. He wasn’t that surprised by your response, but he still had this tiny amount of hope that you would accept his offer.
But he wasn’t going to give up.
Patience and going step-by-step was all he needed.
Mirio stared at your back, a wry smirk forming on his lips. “Was he your-”
“Dare finish that sentence and math isn’t going to be the only thing you’re going to fail.”
He stifled his laughs, because he noticed how flustered your face was when you rushed past him.
It was too fun teasing you.
“Forest Lodge? For Summer break? Why me out of all people?!” Aizawa looked at you, the tired expression from. His face never changing. “Because, as I recall you never went on the excursion when you were in your first year, so this is a great opportunity,” He picked out a paper from the pile that was on his desk. “Plus, you’re in detention for fighting a villain while you were off Internship duty.”
Your eye twitched. “You’re kidding me, right?”
“Yes, yes I am,” You mentally face-palmed. How you hated his mind games. “I can’t handle forty children on one trip and you seem to know a few of them.”
“Do I actually have any say in this?” Maybe you did…
“No.” At least you tried. “Come on, Otonari, what could possibly go wrong?”
You sighed. “You’re right, nothing could go wrong.”
Oh how terribly wrong you were.
Chapter 10: NINE
Chapter Text
“Are you really going with the first years then?” Nejire asked you while walking home with you. The End-of-term exams were over and you were more than happy with the grades you got at the end. Even the practical part went better than you imagined.
And tomorrow was the beginning of a wonderful journey with a job of you babysitting the first years, which was politely asked by your lovely Aizawa-sensei.
You nodded your head at Nejire’s question. “Yeah, we're going tomorrow, early in the morning,” You yawned. “I’m not really hyped about it one bit.”
She smiled reassuringly at you. “Come on, I think that it’s not such a bad idea, since you skipped the time when our generation went. You’ll love the sandy beaches.” She hummed, remembering the memories of that time. Your eyes sparkled in excitement. “Sandy beaches?”
“You’ll see.”
You frowned. “Okay,” You wanted her to give you more information about where you were supposed to go, but she probably didn’t want to spoil anything for you.
So there’s a beach next to the forest. Interesting scenery.
You looked up at the sky, smiling slightly.
Maybe she’s right, maybe this isn’t such a bad idea.
“This is the worst idea ever.” You mumbled as a bag of pocky sticks landed on your lap.
Right now you were driving to your destination near the sea. You prepared everything, bathing suit, towels, sunscreen and all the other gadgets you had to bring while going on a summer vacation.
But dealing with the loud kids was going to be a problem here.
You picked up the bag of pocky from your lap and was about to throw at the other end of the bus, but Aizawa, who was sitting next to you snatched it from your hand. “I want to eat those.”
You sighed. “Knock yourself out.”
An hour almost passed since you set off, and you were starting to get impatient. “When are we stopping?”
“Rest stop!” The driver announced, slowing down and stopping at the side of the road. You were the first one to go outside, filling your lungs with fresh air.
“Umm, who are you?” You turned around, a bunch of students were staring at you, making you feel a little bit uncomfortable. “I, uhh…”
“Ah, Otonari-senpai, what are you doing here?” Midoriya asked as he approached you, a big smile on his face.
You smiled back at him. “Midoriya-kun, it’s nice to see a familiar face.” You placed your hand in his messy locks and started ruffling his hair. His cheeks blushed a little at your sign of affection. “Well, Iida and Todoroki-kun are also here.”
Oh, yeah. Shouto as him.
Your, kind of fake smile now, widened at his words. “That’s nice to hear.”
All of the others were staring at you two. Especially Mineta who was drooling while looking at you. “She’s better than most of the girls from our class!”
Kirishima looked at him in concern. “You have some serious issues man.”
You walked over to Aizawa’s side when he called for you. “You’re going with me towards our residence.”
“What residence?” You were confused now. “We aren’t even on a rest spot now.”
“Heey! Eraser!”
You turned around, your eyes blinking at the people before you.
Two women dressed as cats. With a kid standing just a few steps behind them.
Halloween was in four months, but maybe some people just can’t wait.
“The Wild and Wild PUSSYCATS!” Midoriya exclaimed and went rambling on about how they were known as a pro hero group consisting of four members. Now that you think of it, you do recall seeing them on the internet a few times.
“Lets go, Otonari.” Aizawa told you as he started to walk towards the bus. “Umm, what about the kids, we’re not gonna leave them here behind us.”
He looked at you from the back of his shoulder. “Their school trip… has already started.”
With a forceful shove, one of the Pussycats manipulated the ground below you and sent the entire class A flying into the chasm.
“FUCKING HELL??!” You couldn’t believe your eyes. She just sent a whole bunch of kids into a never ending forest.
“Don’t worry, they’re going to find their way to the residence in the mountains.” She just waved it off like it was nothing.
“Wait,” You paused for a moment. “Is there a beach near the forest?” The Pussycats looked at each other and then back at you, shaking their heads in a ‘no’. “We do have hot springs, if you were referring to them.”
Your eye twitched.
Oh well this, was certainly a bad idea.
When you arrived at the residence you already found a room for yourself, that you were going to be sharing with the other girls for a week. You were now sitting on a wooden bench, slurping apple juice from a juice box, waiting for the class to find their ways here. You felt weight shift next to you so you turned to your right to see who it was.
It was the little kid.
You slurped on your apple juice, looking at the kid from the corner of your eyes. He was just sitting there, looking into the distance. “Someone woke up on the wrong side of the foot this morning.” Maybe starting a conversation first is a good idea.
He was still silent making you feel stupid for even trying. “What would you know.” Now you actually decided to look at him fully. But he was still staring into nothingness.
“Heh,” You slurped once more. “Guess you’re not mute after all.” You almost fell on your right side when he suddenly punched your right arm. “Of course I’m not mute you idiot!”
You looked at him bewildered. How dare a little shrimp like him talk to you in that way. “Oi-”
“What’s so good about being a hero anyway? It’s useless.” His head dropped down.
“Heh, it’s not really useless,” He looked up at you, his eyes meeting yours. “What if you save a girl and she falls in love with you, huh?” You wanted to cheer him up a little, even though you knew yourself that you were talking bullshit.
He gave you a disgusted look. “Stop living in a fairytale, you know that never happens, right?” Oh, this kid knew how to kick low. He jumped off the bench and began to walk away. “Besides all of you are putting your lives on a line for what? For a person that means nothing to you most of the time.” He walked away towards the two Pussycats. You looked at him, concern written all over your face.
“Don’t mind him,” Aizawa grunted as he sat next to you. “He lost his parents while they were fighting off a villain.”
Oh, now it made a lot more sense. “I get it then. That sucks. How old is he five?”
“Yup,” Aizawa yawned and leaned his back on the wooden table behind the two of you. “It happened last year, the both of them were heroes, that’s why he says stuff like that.”
You looked back at him. Mandalay was scolding him about something. “Bummer,” You slurped last drops of your juice. “But tell me, why are we even here? Weren’t we supposed to go near the sea?”
“We were,” Aizawa started. “But because of all the recent villain attacks we were forced to go here, since this a good place for training.”
You leaned your upper body forward, resting your elbows on your knees. “I’m aware of that,” You turned to look at him. “So you wanted me to help them?”
He nodded his head. “You’re not one of the top students for nothing. I think your quirk is hardest to control, and showing them that you succeed greatly in that will kind of boost their confidence.”
You huffed at his answer. “Since when had I become the center of your attention?” You laughed mockingly. “You always put me in detentions through all these years because of stupid reasons. I thought you hated me.”
“And look at you now, you still have that hot-headed attitude but I can see you maturing, something that you’re not aware of,” He got up, you following his every step. “You’re the only student I have more faith in than I should have, show me that you’re worth it.” He grinned at you, that grin that made you chills run down your spine and a tinge of confidence build up in you at the same time.
Before you knew it, one by one the students came running to your side to lay on the bench you were sitting at. Almost pushing you off.
It was before bed time you decided to take a bath at the girls ōnsen. All of the girls already took it but you wanted to have some piece and quiet and take a bath alone. You already took off your clothes and only had a towel around your body. Your [Hair Color] hair was tied in a messy bun.
When you got there, you immediately went in. You took your towel off and placed it on one of the rocks near your head. The hotness of the water relaxed all of your sore muscles that for who knows long they had been like that. You closed your eyes, relaxing even more.
Your eyes shot open when you heard footsteps coming your way. Not wanting to interact with anyone, you took a long breath and dived in, hoping that the person was going to leave when they noticed that no one was in here.
That all came crashing down when you someone sat next to you. That startled you so you had no other choice so you emerged your head from the water. While you were trying to catch your breath, you froze in your place when you noticed that the one who was sitting next to you was-
None other than Todoroki.
He was staring at you also, not bugging at all. You wanted to scream at him, hit him, but you weren’t even able to utter a single word out.
“[First Name],” He cleared his throat.” What are you doing in the men’s ōnsen?”
You turned around to find a sign that said that this was the men’s sector, and your face went pale when noticed an icon of a man near the showers.
“Umm,” You tried to think of a comeback, but you just couldn’t think of one at the moment. “This is the women’s?”
He raised an amused eyebrow at you. “You sure you just couldn’t think of a better remark?”
“No.”
He sighed. “That’s fine by me then, I’m okay with taking a bath with a girl.”
You turned around, trying to hide the blush from your face. How could he say such a thing with a straight face, and yet not long ago when he asked you if he could follow you home he was so ashamed of it. He was so weird.
“I really want to talk to you,” Your head was still turned away from him, but you were listening anyway. “I’ve been asking you this for almost a month and you keep avoiding me.” You could feel his stare on you.
You shook your head. “Do we really have to do it here? We can talk tomorrow after dinner,” You looked at your palms which started to slowly wrinkle for staying too much in the water. “I have to go to bed, it’s been a rough day, even rougher for you.”
You were about to get up, remembering that you couldn’t because you were naked. “Can you turn around, just for a moment, so I can get out?” You blushed in embarrassments.
Todoroki nodded his head, getting the message clearly and turned around. You quickly got up and wrapped the towel around your body. “Good night.”
“Sleep well, [First Name].” Todoroki softly smiled at you.
He lied.
Of course he was peeping, who would let an opportunity like that slip away?
He was sitting on the edge of the cliff, waiting impatiently. Just two more days, two more days and they were going to attack.
He smirked, letting his hand go through his spiky black hair.
“Dabi, we have to go back.” One of his comrades called after him.
“Yeah, yeah, I’m coming.” He got up on his feet, looking back at the forest that resembled an abyss during night time.
Just two more days.

Chapter Text
The next day you woke up by the sound of birds chirping. You rubbed your eyes with the back of your hands sleepily and noticed that all of the girls woke up. “What’s all the commotion about?”
“They woke us up, said we have training to do,” Jirou who’s name you learned yesterday at dinner answered your question. “Aizawa-sensei said that we should wake you up too.”
You groaned loudly and plopped back on the futon. You looked outside of the window, the sun was just rising. “What time is it anyways?” You yawned loudly.
“It’s 15 minutes to five,” Ochako said while yawning simultaneously with you. “Why do we have to get up so early?” All of the girls agreed with her, including you. You started to get up and headed towards the toilets. “Because that’s just Aizawa being himself, you’ll understand once you get older.” They all looked at each other, not entirely sure what you were talking about.
You were finished quickly with taking a shower and brushing your teeth. You walked out of the bathroom, wearing your gym uniform. All of the girls were looking at you with wide eyes. “What?”
“Hot…” All of them said in unison. Their stares were making you uncomfortable. You turned around, trying to hide the blush on your face. “Don’t look at me like that, it’s making me feel uneasy.”
“But we’re honest,” Ashido giggled. “I mean look at you, you have such a nice booty-“
“Ashido, you can’t talk to our senpai like that!” The two dots of pink on Ochako’s cheeks grew even larger at Ashido’s words. You sweat dropped at this, not sure how to respond to her compliment that you don’t really hear every day. “Thanks, I guess,” You sighed. “Come on, let’s have breakfast, Aizawa hates when people are late.” They all nodded their heads and followed you outside the girl’s room.
Once you were finished with breakfast you went outside so you could begin your training. It was 5: 30 am and most of the students still looked sleepy.
You were even worse than them. You were never a morning person, you had bags under your eyes and you’re eye lids were attempting to close every ten seconds. “Is everyone here?” Aizawa asked as all of you answered with an unenthusiastic ‘yes’. “Good. Today we begin a rigorous round of reinforcement training. We’re here so we could improve your quirks so you could achieve your temporary licenses,” His eyes raked over the group of students. “This is preparation is to stand up against and up to live action-hostility and the aggression of your enemy. Prepare your hearts and minds.” He throwed the ball at the ash-blonde. “Bakugou, try throwing this.”
Bakugou caught it with ease and stared at it, memories from the first day of school coming to his head. “This… is from the physical strength exam…”
Oh, I remember that.
You were the best when it came to pitching a ball and you actually had the best score from your generation. But the other tests were okay, average scores.
Some students around you said that he was going to throw the ball over one kilometer. You smirked, really interested if he was going to pull off something like that.
He threw his arm back. “Hip hop and a-“ He threw his arm forward and sent the ball flying with an explosive propulsion. “DROP DEAD!”
Drop dead…
You stared in awe when Aizawa showed the machine to all of you. “709.6 meters?!” You exclaimed loudly.
“Huh, that’s not even close to what we were expecting.” You sweat dropped at his classmates’ comments.
Are these kids for real?
“In three months, lot of you have gained experienced, and you have certainly grown,” Aizawa started. “But that growth was primarily emotional and technical, and now is the time to concentrate on the psychical advancement as well.” You cringed at the smell of something burning beside you and you noticed that smoke was emitting from Bakugou’s hand.
“So, starting today, we will focus on improving your quirks,” Aizawa grinned. “I will be pushing you beyond limits today, so try not to kick the buckets on me.” His gaze fell on you. “With a little help of Otonari.”
You groaned when everyone’s eyes were on you.
This is going to be a long day.
“GO BEYOND YOUR LIMITS!”
You looked at the scene before you in amazement. There was a rampage of quirks on the field, everyone focusing on how to use them but not get tired. But most of them were going beyond their limits, just like Aizawa said.
But they were taking him too serious.
This is endless self-abuse.
“Remarkable, isn’t it?” Aizawa walked next to you, but you just looked at him bewildered. “You’re actually a sadist, aren’t you?” That would explain all those detentions you had where he would first tire you out mentally and then psychically. He turned his head at you. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Don’t lie to me Mr. Rubber*!”
“Go over there and help them,” Aizawa ordered you. “You were called here for that, weren’t you? Don’t make me sell you out to your father.” You sighed in defeat. He would actually do something like that. “Okay fine.”
The first one who you noticed was Bakugou who was trying to heat a pot full of water. He had this angry look on your face so you decided that it was better to not bother him for your own good. Then you noticed Uraraka flying in a bubble, looking nauseous from all the floating in the bubble. She out of them all was having the hardest time. And then there was Shouto who was trying to control both of his quirks at the same time.
That must be hard.
In the end you decided that it would be best to try and help Shouto. You walked closer to him, feeling colder because of the boulder of ice he was creating. You rubbed your palms and blew hot air into them. “Do you need any help?” Now that you were closer you couldn’t debate if the air around you were colder or hotter.
He looked at you, a bit shocked that you actually walked to him first and offered help. “Umm, it’s okay, I can handle this alone.”
But you could see that he needed help. “Maybe you could just try using the heat you usually do to raise your own body temperature so you wouldn’t get frost bites at all,” You explained. “Ever tried using that?”
His eyes blinked quizzically at your explanation but he quickly understood what you were getting at. “Yeah, I do, I could use that,” He smiled at you. “Thanks.”
You smiled back. “No problem, if you need helps with anything else just call me.”
After the intense training and meeting the other members of the ‘Wild Wild Pussy Cats’ it was time for lunch. You were so hingry you could eat all the food including the table, but unfortunately you had to make all of your food on your own. You were cutting the ingredients to make curry while some of them were trying to find woods to lit fire and some of them were doing nothing. While you were cutting the ingredients you looked at Todoroki next to you who was trying to heat the pot. He had the gentlest smile you had ever seen that just by looking at it drew a smile on your face as well.
At least he looks peaceful.
You were having so much fun during and after lunch that you hadn’t even noticed the sun slowly setting. One by one the students went to their respective rooms to have a good sleep, leaving you to pick all of the dishes with a little help of Pixiebob and Ragdoll.
While you were picking up one of the plates, someone’s hand accidentally ended on top of yours as they went for the same plate you meant to pick up. You looked up, meeting heterochromatic eyes. Your eyes were concentrated on the burn on the left side of his face. You just realized you never got your answer on how he got it. The two of you were staring at each other until he broke the silence. “Do you need help?”
Your brow raised at his question, but you realized that he was referring to the dishes. “Oh, yeah. You can, if you want to.” He deadpanned. “I wouldn’t ask it if I didn’t want to.”
You turned your head to the side, trying to hide your embarrassed blush. “Just shut up and do it already.”
“Great!” Ragdoll exclaimed next to you. “You guys pick up the rest, Pixiebob and I’ll go wash them.” You nodded at her and soon you were left with the dual-haired Todoroki.
“Thank for the advice this morning,” He started. “It really helped me out a lot.”
“It’s no problem, that’s my job anyways.” His hear kind of dropped at your words. He expected that you were going to say that you wanted to help him, not needed to because Aizawa-sensei told you to.
You were enjoying the silence until he decided to break it again. “[First Name], I really want to talk to you,” He placed his hand on your shoulder. “I need to talk to you.”
“Fine,” You placed the dishes back on the table. “Let’s go sit on that bench over there.” He nodded his head and walked with you towards the bench. You sat on the bench and stretched your back, cringing to the sound of your spine cracking. “I’m so tired,” You cracked your fingers also. “Every cell in my body is killing me, it’s really tough to teach other people how to control their quirks.”
“There’s probably a good reason why Aizawa-sensei brought you with us,” You scoffed at his words. “Yeah, he’s been holding a grudge against me ever since the Sport Festival in my first year,” You smiled at the memory. “He was so mad that I didn’t won first place, and because I broke one of my classmate’s nose,” You chuckled softly. “He told me that I had such great talent, that I was suited to be a hero, but that I needed to grow emotionally more first.” You looked at Todoroki, actually to be more precise, the burn on his left side.
“Wondering how I got this?” He asked suddenly, startling you. You slowly nodded your head. “You… never told me back then, so yeah, I do.”
He took a deep breath, trying to fin the right words to start with his explanation. “You know how much my dad put me through immense training?” You nodded for him to continue. “He wanted to make me, his son, as the perfect weapon to surpass All Might,” Your eyes widen.
Is he serious?!
“My mom tried stopping him, but he started to abuse her. She hated him so much that once when she was talking to my grandmother on the phone I herd her saying that she couldn’t stand me anymore, that I reminded her so much of him. She saw me, overhearing her conversation and threw boiling water on my face,” Your breath hitched in your throat. “My dad got so mad that he put her in a mental hospital. From that day on, I started hating him so much.” You put a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
“I’m so sorry about what happened that day, I thought that you were so angry at me that you never wanted to see me again. And I guess I was right.”
You shook your head. “You hurt me that day, I know that it was unintentionally,” Your gaze averted to your right, a shy smile on your face. “And I’m sorry too, for acting like a dumb brat this one month. I was holding such a grudge that I never reconsidered your feelings. It must’ve been so har-“ You were cut off by him wrapping his arms around you, one hand at the small of your back and the other at the back of your head. Your head was resting on his shoulder.
“I’m so glad,” His grip tightened. “I thought I was going to loose you again.” You smiled softly at his words, your hand gripping onto his sleeve. “We still have that promise, remember?” He chuckled at your response.
“We sure do.”
“I saw you peeping on me, by the way.”
“… I can explain.”
“Wow! You have pretty good knife skills Bakugou! It’s kind of unexpected!” You praised the ash-blonde as you stared at how he chopped the carrot precisely.
“Huh?! What do you mean by that?! You tellin’ me you expected I would suck balls at this?!” He fumed at your words.
“Umm, not really, I was just giving you a compliment.” You sweat dropped.
“Oh yeah?! Well do me a favor and fuck off! I don’t need your compliments!” He was about to continue chopping but the knife from his hand flew away. “The fuck?!” He turned around his head, but stopped midway when he noticed the knife was pointed at his head. Sweat was dripping down his forehead and the look on your face wasn’t calming him down either.
“You should respect your elders more,” your eyes glowered dangerously. “If you don’t want me to cut your head open with this knife.” The knife dropped down next to his feet and you turned around, sending him one last glance.
“Dude! Scary!” Kirishima and Kaminari commented, but Bakugou just clicked his tongue and picked up the knife from the floor, continuing with what he was doing.
After lunch, the ‘Test of Courage’ was up next. In other words, the location of the test was in a dark forest and class B was ordered to scare class A, with quirks or without. They needed to gather cards with their names in order to show that they have succeeded in finishing the task. They were supposed to go in pairs of two and had 15 minutes to finish the task.
Though, some of them were up for the test and some of them had to review the training they had earlier this morning. Poor kids.
“The winner be not only the class with the most creativity but also makes the most people piss their pants with fright!” Ragdoll exclaimed loudly.
Disgusting.
“[First Name]!” Tiger, the only man from the Pussycat group called after you. “You’re going to be scaring them too!” You sighed.
“Fine, but I won’t go easy on them,” Ochako shivered beside you. “What are you so scared about?”
“It’s so dark in there, I think that I’ll be the first one pissing my pants.” You tried to stifle your laughs. “It’s not funny!”
“Sorry,” You laughed even harder. “But I don’t think Bakugou is happy with his partner.” The brunette’s eyes blinked and she turned around to look at Bakugou who was threating poor Ojiro to switch partners with him. She sighed when she noticed that his partner was Todoroki who couldn’t care less.
“You’re free to go guys!” Mandalay announced and you were off, already deep in the dark forest. You hid behind a bush near a road where someone was bound to pass. Not even two minutes passed and you were starting to smell something weird.
“Ugh, what the hell is that?” You covered your nose with the back your hand and decided to find the source of the smell. You were walking, deeper into the forest, until a voice in your head stopped you.
“Everyone!”
“This is Mandalay’s ‘Telepath’ quirk.” You wondered why she was using it now. Was someone in trouble? Did someone got so scared they had a heart stroke?
“Two villains have invaded the area! It’s possible that there are still more lurking in the shadows!”
Your eyes widen. “An enemy?!” They were probably responsible for the sudden weird smell. Your brows furrowed in anger. “I have to find them!”
“I repeat, do not engage in combat!”
“Sorry, Mandalay,” You said and went on to find the source of the smell where the enemy was probably located. “I can’t promise you that.
“Ahh! Damn it, Dabi, they got us again! What are ya, some weak little shrimp?!”
The said man sighed. His clone was taken out by Aizawa that easily? He turned around, a deadpan expression on his face. “Done already? Huh, I really am weak.” He emphasized the last part, a smirk gracing his lips when his partner got taken back by his answer. “Huh?! Don’t jump into conclusions! You’re strong! It’s just that we’re dealing with a pro now!” His masked comrade explained.
“Clone me again, Twice, I need to take that pro out of action.”
“I can make as many little shrimps as you need, just leave it to me!”
Dabi’s hand was on the biggest pine tree he could find in the forest. Big trees meant more resin he could melt with his fire quirk. The more he melted it, the more poisonous gas he could create which would poison anyone who breathed it in.
He turned his head to his left when he heard the sound of something rustling. “Hey, Twice, did you hear that?” He could see Twice raising his eyebrow through his mask. “Nope! Are you hearing things?”
Dabi shrugged his shoulders. “Huh, must be my fear of the dark.”
“Be serious for once!”
He heard the rustling again and was about to turn his head around until something came flying to his head. “Dabi, dude, you okay?!” He heard Twice calling after him before he came crashing on the floor. He groaned and grabbed the side of his head.
“Hey, dude! A fucking girl just knocked you out!”
He raised his head up, the ends of his lips twitching when he saw you, a furious look on your face. He started getting up. “What did I ever do to you to deserve that?” He said playfully as he dusted his pants off.
Your eyes widen slightly in realization. “I remember you…” His skin was still wrinkled the same and he had the same stitches as before. You couldn’t forget that face easily.
“You know each other?!” The masked guy exclaimed loudly in surprise. He was already getting on your nerves. “Yeah, I ran into her a couple of times.” His eyes were still on you and it made you feel uneasy in some way.
“Two to be exact.” You pointed out, trying hard to keep your cool. I mean, you were facing two villains, you had to be on guard.
“Aww, you were counting. I’m flattered.” He placed his hand on his chest in a mocking way that made your teeth grit in annoyance. Suddenly Mandalay’s voice rang in your head. “Members of class A and B and Otonari [First Name]! I hereby authorize you all for combat!” You grinned widely, putting your arms in front of you in a fighting stance. “Hate to break it to ya’, but I’ll guess we won’t be seeing each other anymore, since I’ll be putting both of your asses in jail from here on out.”
Dabi smirked, smoke evaporating from his palms. “Bring it on, sweet cheeks.”

“Dabi, dude, you seriously going to fight her?!” Twice commented as you and this person named ‘Dabi’ were still having an intense stare down.
“Dabi, huh?” You raised your brow. “What’s your quirk, dabbing?” You turned your head to your left to look at Twice who was rolling on the floor from laugher. He was holding his stomach with one hand while the other was hitting the ground aggressively. Dabi on the other hand had an unimpressed look on his face. “Ha, ha, you must think you’re hilarious.”
“BUT SHE IS!” Twice winced when a metallic piece of stone almost hit him in the head
“Thanks for the compliment,”
Otonari [First Name]
Quirk: Ferrokinesis
She can control all types of metals on her own free will, be it native or factory-made. The only weakness to this power is fire.
An idea popped into the masked man’s face. “On second thought,” He jumped into a near bush. “You got this on your own man, I’m rooting for ya’!” The only thing that was visible from the bush were both of his hands, raised in a ‘thumbs up’.
All of a sudden, Mandalay’s voice rang in your head. “Whoever Kaachan is, don’t engage into combat, the villains are after you!”
Kaachan?
You raised your brow, but then recalled of Midoriya calling Bakugou like that.
So, they’re after Bakugou. It’d be best if I just get rid of these two, can’t let them realize that I know of their objective.
Your gaze fell onto his hand, the one that the smoke was coming from. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” He looked at you questioningly. “I wouldn’t create too much smoke, because it would give away your current location which would attract more than forty people here, and you don’t want that,” You gave him a pleased smirk. “Do you?”
“Oh?” His head cocked to the side. “Are you trying to protect me now?” His toothy grin only widened when he noticed how your eye twitched. “I just want to beat your ass by myself. I’m capable enough to do that.” You slowly started to raise your hand up, chunks of some native metal started to rise from the depths of the ground.
Dabi’s eyebrows raised in amusement. “Possessive, now are we? Sorry to break it to ya,” He mocked your words from earlier. “But I’m not really into those type of girls.”
“Shut your mouth already!” You opened your palm, firing the metallic projectiles towards him. He quickly withdraws his hand and shot a mass of flames, melting your projectiles. A lot smoke evaporated in the process, trapping you in a gust of black and gray. You coughed and jumped out of the smoke prison, filling your lungs with air. You got on your feet and tried to process what happened just now, but Dabi startled you by suddenly appearing next to you.
“Hey girl, is Endeavour your daddy?” Your eyes widen is surprise.
What the-?
“Cause your ass is on fire.” He lightly tapped your behind, making your reflexes act before your brain. You raised your leg, aiming for his face but he smoothly dodged it, a sly grin finding its way on his face. “Was that too soon?”
Your face was redder than the left part of Shouto’s hair by now. You put the fire from the back pocket of your jeans off, but you knew that there was going to be a hole left. You were looking at him speechless, while he was just snickering at your face. “Are you out of your-!”
Then it hit you. The words said by a ‘mighty’ person repeated in your head.
“But who has a fire quirk except Endeavor?” Mirio’s head popped in your mind, shadows looming over your eyes. “You have got to be kidding me…”
Why do I always run into people who counter my quirk?
Your daydreaming was interrupted when another blast of flames was fired your way. You quickly dodged it by jumping sideways. Somebody tried to kick you but you blocked it with your forearm and returned the favor by kicking them on the chin with your heel. You couldn’t even take a normal breath when a fist was aimed at your face. You dodged and swept their legs with your left leg, making them loose balance. You quickly dodged another attack by jumping sideways, kicking them in the face while mid-air. You went to see who they were, if they had some kind of backup, but those bodies were nothing but liquid now.
“You’re able to stand against the clones,” Dabi was walking towards you and you were back on guard. “But are you ready for the real deal?” You scoffed at his words. “If you’re weak as them then you’ll be a piece of cake.” Who were you lying? He could counter you easily.
He smirked teasingly. “Yeah, I can see that clearly,” Right when he was about to attack you, there was a loud blast not far from you. The two of you almost lost your balance but you took this opportunity to send another projectile of metallic stones at him, but he seemed to react just on time and sent the biggest amount of flames so far at you. The flames melted the metals, but the smoke was too thick now you couldn’t see your own hands in front of you. You started to cough and wave your hands around, in hope to make the smoke disappear already. Your coughs started to get more aggressive and there’s was still no way out.
Don’t tell me I’m finished here?
Like your body was listening to your thoughts, you couldn’t take it anymore, first the poisonous gas and now getting hit by smoke in your face two times, you collapsed on the floor, losing all consciousness.
When the smoke cleared soon, Dabi smirked in triumph when he found your limp body on the floor. Just like he thought, breathing in poison and now gas was too much for you to handle.
“Weere my clones cool?!” Twice asked, appearing next to Dabi from behind the bush he was hiding. The spiky-haired man nodded his head and started walking towards you. “They were good, nice job.” He picked up your body and threw you over his shoulder, Twice looking at him puzzled all while he was doing that. “The hell are you doing?” Dabi looked at him from behind his other shoulder. “I’m taking her with us. What does it look like?”
“You can’t do that!” Twice started panicking. “This wasn’t her natural habitat! She’s probably ten times stronger! She’s going to own us, I’m telling ya!” Dabi patted your naked thigh. “If she tries to do anything funny, I’ll just have to punish her.”
“You do know how wrong that sounds? Especially when it’s coming from you.”
“I do, got a problem with that?”
“Oh? It’s only this many of us so far?” Toga commented as she walked into the part of the forest they were supposed to meet once their mission was accomplished.
“Crazy lady,” Dabi called after the high school girl. “Did you get your blood? How’s many people worth it?” She smiled wickedly which always made him question her sanity. “Only one person.”
“Only one?!” Twice exclaimed. “But you said you’ll at least get three!” He leaped next to her side. “Nothing I could do about it. I thought I was going to get killed.” She answered as in matter-of-factly. Her look landed on the body that was thrown over Dabi’s shoulder. “Who’s that?”
“Hm?” She pointed at you. “Oh, just one of the students. Twice and I ran into her, she’ll be going with us.” His grip on you tightened when she walked closer to him. “Do you like her?” She asked him, the wicked smile still on her face.
“Umm, no.” Her brows furrowed. “Then why are you taking her with us?”
Dabi sighed. “Because she might be a good source of giving information.”
“You mean a good source of giving you love?” Twice joined, wiggling his eyebrows.
“Yeah, whatever floats your boat.” He looked at Toga, eyeing her suspiciously. “What’s wrong with you? You’re usually more cheerful.”
She giggled, covering her mouth with her hand. “I met some new friends! And I’m interested in this boy!” She placed both of her palms on her cheeks in a dreamy way.
Poor guy. I pity him.
“You mean me?” Twice pointed at himself. “Sorry to say, not happening! I’m interested in myself too!” The two of them argued as Dabi just stood there watching them, annoyance deep down inside of him building slowly. “Both of you shut up.”
His eyes blinked when he heard some noises coming not far away from them. His head turned around quickly, at the very moment Compress hit the ground hard, with Midoriya, Shouji and Todoroki standing on top of him.
“These brats, I know them! Who are they?!” Twice exclaimed but Dabi shut him up by saying anything else further by throwing your limp body onto the floor next to him. “Mister*, dodge.” He fired more flames at the three of them, which they dodged quite easily.
He eyed Compress who just looked at your body that was on the floor now and nodded his head back, understanding what he was trying to tell him. “Got it.” He compressed your body into one of his marbles and his it under his hat. He reached into his pockets but one of the marbles from his pocket was missing. “What the-?” He turned around to look at Shouji who was holding one of the marbles. “In one of these, you trapped both Bakugou and Tokoyami?”
“Very nice noticing, Six-Arms! In that short span of time, I’m indeed impressed!” Compress clapped his hands. Dabi’s brows furrowed. “You idiot…” Suddenly a warp appeared next to everyone. “It’s been five minutes since the signal, it’s time to go, Dabi.” Kurogiri’s voice came rang through the forest.
“But our objective…” Dabi was about to protest, but when Compress showed his tongue out, where he was hiding the two marbles the corners of his lips twitched up. “Nice one.”
Suddenly a ray of lightning hit Compress in the head, making him drop both of the marbles that were in his mouth. Shouji and Todoroki went after them, but Todoroki failed to catch it because someone already snatched it away from his. “Aww, how sad… Todoroki Shouto.” His head shot up, coming face to face with the black-haired villain who was looking down on him while mocking him.
Compress snapped his fingers, releasing Bakugou and Tokoyami from the marbles. But what surprised them the most was when your limp body was getting sucked into one of the vortex too.
“[FIRST NAME]!” Todoroki yelled after you at which Dabi’s sly smirk grew even wider. But it was too late.
You were already gone.
Chapter 13: TWELVE
Chapter Text
According to Blood King's reporting of the events, the ambulances and firetrucks arrived 15 minutes after the villains left. Of 40 students, 15 had lost consciousness and were in critical state due to the gas. 11 had injuries, ranging from minor to severe. 13 were uninjured.
Two had gone missing.
Of the six professional heroes, one suffered a head injury and is in critical condition. And one that had left a heavy trail of blood had gone missing.
The parents of the missing children were informed about the incident. The Bakugou family couldn't believe that their Katsuki was kidnapped and asked the pros to keep them in track if they find out any new information.
While Otonari Genzo on the other hand wasn't that much levelheaded.
"HOW COULD YOU LET MY DAUGHTER GET KIDNAPPED BY THOSE MONSTERS?!"
"Genzo, listen, there's nothing that they could have done back there," All Might explained as he dodged another chair that wasn't aimed at him on purpose. This is just how Genzo acted when he was outraged, throwing stuff and yelling. Who wouldn't act like that when one of the most important thing in his life had gone missing.
"Otonari-san," Fatgum called after the older hero. "We're gonna find 'er, don't worry-" He yelped when a vase hit the wall behind him.
"This is all your fault!" Genzo pointed an accusing finger at Aizawa who was just staring at him and his antics. "If you had been more careful about your students, this never would've happened!" He was about to throw another chair, but Aizawa bound his legs and arms with his bandages. He hit the floor with his behind loud, desperately trying to get out from Aizawa's grasp. "Let go of me this instant!"
"If you think that you would've done a better job than me in that situation," He tightened and pulled on the bandages in his hands. "You can take my position as a teacher right away."
Genzo looked to the side, his teeth gritting in pure anger. He didn't mean to offend him in anyway, this is just how he reacted when he was mad. "Why do they need her for?"
All Might and Fatgum shared looks with each other and then back at the the older man. Aizawa just walked towards him and crouched down. "We don't know, but," He placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "We're going to find her, I promise." He squeezed his shoulder, trying to comfort him.
Genzo's head dropped down. "Please," He took a deep breath. "Help me find her," He started to shake and sob. "Help me find my baby girl!"
Aizawa smiled at him. "We will."
Todoroki was in his room, staring at the ceiling above him. Two days, two days have passed since Bakugou and you got captured with the villains. He was so mad at himself for not noticing that they got you too, until it was already too late.
But Kirishima and him already made out a plan - they were going to find Bakugou and you with the rest of their classmates. They just needed to inform all of them about it.
There was a knock on his door. "Come in." The door to his room opened and he turned his head to the side, finding a worried Fuyumi.
"Shouto," She took two steps forward and closed the door to his room. "Are you feeling okay?" She was concerned about her brother's well being because he hasn't really eaten anything normal for the last two days. Not to mention if their father noticed it, things weren't going to end pretty for both of them.
The dual-haired boy turned his head too look at the ceiling again. "I'm fine, just feeling stressed out."
Fuyumi's brows furrowed. "You're not okay, at least be honest with me," She walked towards his bed and sat on the edge of it. "I know that you're still eating yourself out because you couldn't help out your classmates, but the pros are going to find them." She smiled gently. "It's going to be okay."
"You're right," He started. "The pros we'll handle it soon." He lied. He couldn't tell her about his plan. Of course she would say no, that's why they were going to do it in late hours.
"Good," She reached her hand out and pet his head. "I made chocolate-chip cookies this morning for the kids in my class that I'm teaching and there are some left. You want me to bring them to you?"
The boy shook his head. "I'll go downstairs with you so I can have them in the living room," He got up from his bed. "After that I'll go visit my classmates in the hospital."
"Okay," She nodded her head. "Dad will be home soon too, so I think that it's better if you go down there." He nodded and followed his sister out of his room.
He just couldn't shake this feeling off that something bad happened to you. Or is going to happen.
"Can you just let me go already," You shifted in the chair you were tied to. "I'm really hungry and sleepy and the food you're giving me," Your face cringed. "Even I can cook better." You remembered the time when you once almost put your house on fire while trying to cook ramen noodles.
At least you tried.
The lizard-man Spinner, how the others called him gripped on his newspaper, an irk-mark appearing on his forehead. "For the last 15 minutes all you've been doing is nagging about everything! Just shut your yap already!" He yelled at you, your face remaining totally unfazed by his outburst.
"Jesus, sorry. You don't have to throw your scales at me," You smirked. "Get it?"
"Ha ha, VERY FUNNY!" He sat back in his seat rather furiously, his back facing you. The room was silent for a few minutes until Spinner decided to break it. "Just so you know, I learned how to cook through playing video games." He stated.
"It sure tastes like that."
"That's it!" He shot up from his seat, stomping towards you. He picked up the chair you were sitting on and started carrying you, who knows where. "H-hey! Put me down! Where are you taking me?!"
"To Dabi's room!" All the color from your face drained when he said that. "No don't please," You started to squirm in your seat. "I'll be a good girl, I promise!" You winced when his foot collided with the door to Dabi's room. He placed you in the middle and started walking out. "I swear, once I get out of here I'll cut your tail off!"
He turned around, a wry smirk on his face. "It'll just grow again." And he slammed the door shut.
"The hell?! You're actually a real lizard?!" You yelled at the door, in hope for him to hear you but he was already gone, or maybe he even ignored you. Who knows. You leaned your head back, thinking of how you got yourself into this mess.
You've been unconscious for one full day and you just woke up this morning. It was a good thing that you were still alive after all that poison and smoke you inhaled. Your shorts still had a hole at the back and you felt so filthy and smelly after not showering for two days. And those idiots didn't even let you take a shower.
You were wondering how your father, teachers and friends were feeling right now, how worried they must be.
Your head turned around when you heard a door in the room opening.
And holy damn were you surprised by the sight in front of you.
Dabi, who only had a tower around his torso was drying his hair off with another towel. Your eyes widen as you followed one stray drop of water that trickled all the way from his hair to his jaw, his collarbone, his chest, his abdomen... And then it disappeared somewhere behind the towel.
"Damn girl, if you keep ogling me like that I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to contain myself." His voice brought you back to reality and you looked up at him.
Oh how you wanted to wipe that smirk of his face with your fists.
When you realized what he said your entire face turned bright red. "S-shut up! And put some clothes on!" You panicked in your head when he started to walk closer, stopping just close enough that he was hovering above you. "Aww, admit it, you love seeing me like this." A drop of water fell on your cheek, but it dried right away since your face was burning like the hottest chilli in the world.
"If you don't move right now I will blow those stitches off your face," You warned him. "And you know very well that I'm able to do it." The black haired male raised his hands in front of his chest in a defensive way. "Fine, fine, I give." He walked towards his bed and was about to put his shirt on. You watched how every single muscle on his back, neck and upper arms tensed when he raised them up. You had to admit, despite all of that patched skin, he had such a nice build. Way better than nice. When he was about to turn around, your turned your head to the side, not wanting him to notice that you were looking at him, again.
"Who brought you here anyways?" He asked as he sat on his bed, he leaned in closer to you, his elbows resting on his knees. You gulped, the way he was staring at you really made you feel uneasy for some reason. "That lizard-guy. I was kind of annoying him and he wanted to punish me by bringing me here."
"So being here with me is a punishment to you?"
"Kind of, yeah," A shiver ran down your spine when he smirked at you. "What?"
"Do you want me to really punish you?" You chocked on your own saliva at his words. You buried your head in your shoulder, trying to hide the blush on your face, but when the 'delightful' smell under your armpits hit your nostrils you instantly forgot why were you acting so shy. "I think that you're punishing me enough already by not letting me take a shower."
Dabi still stared at you for a moment and suddenly he got up from his bed and walked towards you. You watched his every step, if he thought about doing something funny. Your brow raised in confusion when he passed you, but you soon realized what he was doing when you started to feel the rope around your wrists loosening. When he was done, you pulled your hands to your sides, rubbing your wrists to soothe the pain. "I didn't know that you could be so considerat-" You were cut off when he picked you up and threw you over his shoulder. "What are you doing?!"
"Man, you were right," Dabi kicked the door to his bathroom open and placed you on the toilet seat. "You reek." Your eye-twitched. "Oh really and who's fault is that-"
"Strip."
...What?
"Pardon me?" You weren't sure if you heard it right. Did he, just now, commanded you to strip. In front of him? To take all of your clothes off.. with him standing there?
"You heard me," He deadpanned. You didn't even had to take your clothes off because you felt like he was undressing you with his every look. Maybe it was just your imagination because, you were practically kidnapped in the first place. You felt your heart race in your chest from fear, and he could probably hear it too. All of a sudden he grabbed your wrist harshly and turned his head to the side.
"If it's embarrassing for you, I'll turn around." Your eyes blinked at this. Was he, a villain, really trying to act nice with you? You were confused, but you sighed in relief. "I can't do that while... being in the same room with you..."
He looked at you from the corner of his eye. "It's not like I've never seen a naked woman."
"I don't care, just get out!"
When you were done with showering (even though you argued with Dabi for 10 minutes about him leaving you to take a simple shower) you were wearing one of his shirts that went all the was to your knees, since he was way taller than you. He did owe you one since he put your pants on fire intentionally.
Dabi eyed from head to toe, admitting, but only in his head, that you actually looked kind of cute in that shirt of his. He smirked at you. "Good," He got up from his bed and walked towards you. "Gimme your hands where I can see them," You sighed and stretched your hands out for him to tie up your wrists again. "Good girl." He pulled you towards the chair and sat you down there. While he was tying the rope around the chair you felt talkative again. "Why are you even doing this?"
His brow raised at your question. "Because if I don't you're going to escape?" He answered you back with a question, but he didn't seem to understand you weren't referring to that. "I mean, why did you, League of Villains started attacking us all of a sudden?" You heard him laugh behind you. "You really think I'm that dumb to answer something like that, that's coming from a pro's daughter?"
Your eyes slightly widen. "How did you know?" He was now in front of you, bending down a little so he could meet your eye-level. "Everyone here knows that you're Otonari [First Name], daughter of Otonari Genzo," He straightened up and moved towards his bed. "And I know that you're smart enough to not go rampaging on all of us because you would get killed easily," He placed his finger on the light switch, giving you one last look. "Have a goodnight sleep, you'll need it."
And everything turned black. You heard him get under the covers and slowly shift to the other side, he was probably going to keep an eye on you the entire night.
He was right, you knew, that no matter how strong you were, you against who knows how many villains would cost you your life. So you just had to wait.
Wait until someone finally comes for you.
