Chapter 1: One: It all started when...

Chapter Text

It all started when a baby--Jeon Jeongguk, Was born.

Jeongguk was a beautiful baby, A flawless baby-- He was special.

Why was he special? Well, let's go ahead and see why.

Jeongguk was born on September 1st when anyone had least expected it. It had happened late at night, and suddenly, His mother screamed in agony as she had felt a strong kick, and that's when she knew that it was time.

Doctors had come rushing in, Filling in the space in the room with barely enough space for her seemingly anxious husband to shove them aside in order to see their baby. By the time he had gotten there, The baby was in his mother's arms.

"Jeongguk," His mother had gasped as she held her baby to her chest, tears of joy rolling down her cheeks. "His name--It's Jeongguk." The proud father smiled, tears of joy rolling down his cheeks too as he watched the interaction between the baby and his mother, the baby cooing when his mother stroked his cheek.

"He's beautiful... Our baby..." The father sighed happily. He carefully poked his nose, receiving an adorable smile. Both parents giggled. Such a sweet baby Jeongguk was, and such a gentlemen he would grow up to be.

Jeongguk's mother was finally able to leave the hospital and go home, But Jeongguk had to stay, for he wasn't ready to go home yet. His mother kissed his forehead and whispered goodbye to his sleeping form, The baby slightly smiling before it faltered and he continued to sleep. As this happened, Something else was going on, up in the heavens, hidden from all mortals-- No mortals knew it existed, and perhaps, it was better that way.

Taehyung was being assigned to a human baby, Which wouldn't really be a big deal for many other angels were also assigned to certain people. But Taehyung's job was more specific than others. Not only would he be there for guidance, like the normal job usually was, He was to protect Jeongguk's life with his own, And the biggest deal was that he could not fall in love with Jeongguk. The King had already chosen who was to end up with Jeongguk in his future, So it wasn't like Taehyung could anyway. If Taehyung did, He would have to deal with rejection, And humiliation from other angels. Of course, there were more consequences to falling in love other than being heartbroken, but that you will find out eventually.

"Now, Taehyung, You must understand the strict rules we put on you. We are doing them for your good, and for the boy's good too." The Kind explained to a young Taehyung, Who nodded in understanding, His eyes shining with pure excitement, for he was going to have a friend who he could always be with! "If you were to break these rules, there would be..Consequences.." The king suddenly turned to Taehyung, his face stoic and serious. "You would lose your ability to so much as show your face here, You will be a disgrace to all citizens of Omelas, And everyone will know what you did wrong, for your wings will be pure black." Taehyung shivered in slight fear.

"Y-Yes sir.." He stuttered, His big eyes adverting away from the King and to the baby. He played with the baby's hair, and the baby suddenly grabbed onto his finger. He squealed and pressed a kiss to the baby's hand, The baby giggling slightly. Taehyung smiled as he watched the baby. The king walked behind the two. "Time will come where you two will meet." The King muttered before patting Taehyung on his shoulder. Taehyung nodded in understanding. They both spread their magnificent wings, And flew out the window, leaving it open. After their departure, Two doctors barged into the room, both looking confused as they looked at the open window and the still asleep baby.

"Could have sworn I heard some voices..." One said, while looking at the other. The other had shrugged and as they walked off, a pure white feather had fallen into the room through the window.

Chapter 2: The Meeting

Summary:

Where Taehyung and Jeongguk meet, as fate told.

Notes:

I know I'm late as hell, But I hope Jong hyun is in a better place now. He was such a kind young man, And I'm sorry for the lives taken that day. I hope the best for SHINee, And I know he is smiling down and SHINee supporting them even now.

Chapter Text

Jeongguk was a child who didn't like to socialize.

He didn't like being around big crowds of people and did not like playing with the children at his daycare's playground. He would rather talk to his stuffed bunny, Kookie about how his day at school went instead of having play dates with other children his age. This confused his parents, for Jeongguk was such a young man-- He should be out making friends, or something. But Jeongguk has never spoken to someone willingly beside his parents.

"Jeongguk, Why don't you play with your cousins?" his mother had asked him a while back. "b-but eomma..." The three-year-old jeongukk whined, keeping his place on the couch stubbornly, the sound of his slightly older cousins' horseplay thumping against the ceiling of the living room softly, as the adults conversated in the kitchen. His aunt was cooking dinner. His mother only sighed, and continued to help her sister with the dinner.

It worried their parents because they wanted Jeongguk to have someone to turn to when he was older when they weren't there to assist-- Someone to help him and to listen to him, that he could take advice from, but so far, luck wasn't on their side.

All that managed to change when Kim Taehyung moved in next door.

Jeongguk's parents decided to take advantage of the new neighbors, and so one Saturday morning when Jeongguk's mother was cooking breakfast, she hummed, "hmm, Hey Jeongguk, I'm going to visit the new neighbors, want to come along?" Jeongguk looked up from his lap and then groaned. "but eomma... I wanna play with kookie all day! I don't wanna... I-I don't wanna.." Jeongguk stuttered, looking for the right word. As Jeongguk thought of a word, his mother sighed and then replied, "pleaaaaaaase? Just for me? I'll make cookies for dessert!" and that's all it took for three-almost-four-year-old Jeongguk to finally agree to meet his neighbors.

His mother knocked on the door of the house a few times, the knocks firm but at the same time somewhat respectful and not full out banging the door until it broke down. Jeongguk hid behind his mother's legs, His chubby little hands wrapping around them until the door opened to reveal a woman, tall and slender, her hair in a messy bun, and despite her distressed looking state, she was smiling, and still look gorgeous. Jeongguk cowered even more behind his mother's legs.

"Oh, Hello!" The woman waved. "I'm sorry you are meeting me in such a state--" she chuckled lightly, "You are our neighbors, correct?" His mother nodded. "Yes, I would like to introduce myself!" His mother exclaimed, obviously in a good mood since Jeongguk didn't back out this time. As the mothers continued to talk and talk, The woman, Mina, Jeongguk had remembered introducing herself as, looked down at the still hiding Jeongguk. She bent down to his height and cooed, "Aww, is this your son? He's adorable, so precious! What's his name?" His mother smiled proudly and looked down at her beloved son. "Jeongguk is his name. Jeongguk, say hi!" She said, nudging her son away from her legs. Jeongguk shyly waved his stuffed bunny, looking up innocently at Mina.

She smiled and welcomed him and her mother inside after realizing she had left them outside in the cool winds of autumn for twenty minutes now. Mina looked at Jeongguk and said, "Jeongguk, You can go upstairs! I'm sure Taehyung would be elated to meet you." Right after Mina mentioned Taehyung, Crashing and a squeal could be heard from upstairs. A boy, Who looked no older than Seven or Six, Came hopping down the stairs, running up to his mother and bouncing energetically. Jeongguk was in shock, for how could a person contain this much energy inside of them? It was almost impossible. He noticed the two new guests in the house and bowed respectfully.

"A-ah, m' sorry!" he apologized. Jeongguk could now see his face, and he felt his heart skip a beat. The boy was beautiful, No, gorgeous. His brown hair was messy, probably from the ruckus caused from upstairs. He was wearing an elephant shirt that was clearly a bit too big for him, and shorts. His eyes were a beautiful shade of brown, wrinkling at the edges when he noticed Jeongguk was staring, Warm brown eyes meeting curious onyx ones. Sending him a charming, boxy smile that made Jeongguk blush a pretty shade of pink, He introduced himself. "I'm Taehyung! Kim Taehyung!" He said to Jeongguk and his mother. His mother commented on how polite Taehyung was before softly nudging Jeongguk towards Taehyung. "You two be good alright?" Jeongguk's mother told them before Taehyung took his hand and lead him upstairs.

Jeongguk took the time to look at the paintings on the wall. One painting, he noticed, really stood out to him. It was an angel, or what he assumed to be one, with his wings spread open, from the back view. The wings looked realistic, soft, unique. Before he could gaze at it in awe longer than he did, He was guided to a room with toys all over the floor, but the bed done neatly. The walls were a pastel blue, and his sheets were green, black, and white. the window was open, letting the whistling wind inside to cool the room. On a dresser next to the bed, He saw a picture of a bird. The bird was black and was flying in a sunset, except it looked pretty eerie. He looked away from the picture to look at Taehyung, who was rummaging through all the toys he had. He stood there awkwardly before Taehyung turned around, one of his eyebrows lifted up as if he was confused. "Hey, why don't you grab something and play with it?" He asked. Jeongguk nervously looked away, not knowing what to reply. Taehyung's eyes softened and he trotted towards Jeongguk. "Hey, It's okay! Don't be scared, We can play together!" he said, grabbing Jeongguk's hand and walking towards the box of toys. Jeongguk looked up at Taehyung, and Taehyung looked down smiling softly, and Jeongguk smiled back, his cute bunny smile warming Taehyung's heart up.

"Hey, how old are you?" Taehyung asked Jeongguk, who proudly put up four fingers while replying, "I'm turning four soon! I'm three, but I will be a big boy soon!" Taehyung chuckled before telling him, "I guess that makes me your hyung! I'm seven." Jeongguk curiously looked up at Taehyung, "Really?" Taehyung nodded. "Hyung!" Taehyung exclaimed, "I'm your hyung!" Jeongguk repeated, "Hyungie..." And if Taehyung wasn't whipped before, He was now.

      They played for a bit, Games where Jeongguk would save Taehyung from a pile of stuffed animals, which went a lot like;

"I'll save you hyungie! I wont let them hurt chuuu!"

"Wahh! Jeongguk, help! HEEEELP!"

"I'm cominggggg!"

And ended with Taehyung giving Jeongguk a kiss on the forehead. "My hero!" Jeongguk had blushed and smiled goofily.

"Hey, Hyungie? What was that painting of the angel for?" Jeongguk decided to ask when Taehyung was reading a book to him. They were currently sitting on Taehyung's bed, sharing a blanket. Taehyung closed the book and looked at Jeongguk before explaining, "My father gave it to my mother," And when Jeongguk gave him a confused look he explained, "My father isn't here anymore.." and Jeongguk's mouth turned into a small o, and he gave Taehyung a hug. "It's okay hyungie, I'm sorry.." Taehyung nodded before continuing his explanation of the painting, "I think it's a beautiful and unique painting," he continued, "Angels are, well, angelic!" he chuckled. "They are pure creatures, And want the best for everyone." Jeongguk gazed at the smiling Taehyung. It was quiet for a while, but the silence was comfortable, not awkward at all. Then Jeongguk piped up, "Hey hyungie?" and Taehyung looked at Jeongguk. "Yes Gukkie?" Jeongguk's heart soared at the nickname. "You're my angel." he took Taehyung's hand in his own, small chubby one. Taehyung giggled softly. "Yes, I am your angel Gukkie. I always will be." He replied, clasping his hand in Jeongguk's.

Chapter Text

It has been a couple of years since Jeongguk and Taehyung had met, and hell, were they closer than ever. They were inseparable, They did everything together. Taehyung attended all of Jeongguk's birthday parties and Jeongguk attended all of his. Taehyung would help Jeongguk with his simple math homework, They would go to the park together-They were best of friends. Taehyung ALWAYS visited Jeongguk after school finished since Jeongguk's kindergarten class ended earlier than Taehyung's classes did. But one day, Taehyung didn't visit him.

"Eomma! Do you think hyungie got... Kidnapped!?" Jeongguk asked his mother, worried for his hyung. His mother just rolled her eyes and replied, "Oh, Jeongguk, you know Taehyung has responsibilities after school! He can't always come to visit you! How about you go play with Kookie? He has been lying on the couch all day." Jeongguk pouted while looking at Kookie. He padded over to his stuffed animal and sighed loudly. "Kookie, Taehyungie isn't here this time..." Jeongguk dragged himself upstairs, his heart hurting. Why didn't Taehyung visit him? Didn't he love him?

Jeongguk jumped onto his bed and stuffed his face into the pillow. He began to sob silently. He hugged Kookie to his chest. Did Taehyung not love him anymore? He held Kookie even tighter. Did he forget about Jeongguk? Did realize he didn't need him? Suddenly, in midst of his thoughts, Jeongguk heard his hyungie's cute giggles. He perked up, and looked out the window, and saw his hyungie, with other people too. He stopped crying and ran down the stairs. His hyungie came! His hyungie came! He clumsily opened the door, and was going to run out the door but he saw another boy hugging HIS hyung. He felt a wave of jealousy rush through his body. He didn't know why he was feeling this way, but he didn't like it. He ignored the feeling and walked towards the group. Taehyung was patting the boy, then waving to his friends--from what Jeongguk had seen so far--As if to say goodbye, But then stopped when he saw Jeongguk. He smiled and waved to Jeongguk, But the annoyed Jeongguk didn't do anything but stomp over.

He specifically stared at the boy who was just hugging Taehyung as HE hugged Taehyung, stuffing his face into Taehyung's abdomen. Taehyung hugged him back, cooing about how cute he was. He turned to his friends, and told them, "Hey guys, This is Jeongguk! I've known him since day one." One of them flashed Taehyung a knowing look, Jeongguk didn't catch onto it though. Taehyung nodded and the guy stepped up.

"Hello, My name is Jimin! I'm Taehyung's best friend, nice to meet you! Taehyung talks about you a lot. He and I are almost the same age, I'm older by a few months." Jimin introduced himself. Hmm, so that's the guy who hugged my hyungie? Jeongguk thought before nodding in slight annoyance and turning to the next person. The next person stepped up, almost tripping over his own shoe before standing up straight.

"My name is Namjoon. I am eleven years old, I have heard lots of good stuff about you." The five-year-old tries to take him seriously, but he let out a giggle when Namjoon stumbled back to his friends, Two more of them holding him in place so that his face doesn't meet its demise. One was smiling, so happy that it was almost scary. Wouldn't his mouth get tired of smiling? He thought. The other was a complete opposite, Complaining about how Namjoon should at least stumble into someone else next time. He looked tired and grumpy. The weird smiling guy looked at Jeongguk, and also introduced himself.

"I'm Hoseok, but you can just call me Hobi! I'm also eleven! Aigooo, You're so cuteeee!" Hoseok jumped to Jeongguk, Pinching his cheeks. Jeongguk felt overwhelmed by the sudden affection but accepted it anyway. The grumpy-grandpa looking one rolled his eyes.

"Yoongi." was all he muttered before continuing to complain about how his friends were so loud to himself. The final and last person stepped up.

"My name is Seokjin, But I also go by Jin! I am the eldest-- Being thirteen. I take care of everyone here, So don't be afraid to come to me for help." Jin smiled softly at the boy who was still being attacked by Hoseok and waved. Jeongguk barely knew them, But he already felt safe, especially when Taehyung was smiling at him, giving him reassurance.

From then on, They would all go to the park whenever Jeongguk's mother gave them permission and trusted Jin with taking good care of them all, Which he always did a good job of. Jeongguk got to know them better and better each time they would hang out after school. Yoongi liked to sleep a lot, Jimin and Hoseok were great dancers, Jin loved cooking and Namjoon was the clumsiest person to ever walk on earth. Yoongi and Hoseok are total opposites, But great friends, And he learned to eventually warm up to Jimin. Totally doesn't get jealous when Taehyung and Jimin get a little clingy, though. They all got along well, and there is nothing that they would change.

Notes:

Okay, so that was a pretty short chapter, but I think I'm done with the introduction of all the characters because I'm pretty sure it's getting boring now so we will time skip to when they are older after this chapter :^)

Chapter 4: Just a Dream?

Chapter Text

"Ahh, Taeeeee, Do you really need to go to university?" A seventeen-year-old Jeongguk whined like a baby, Which made Taehyung roll his eyes. "Yahhh! Don't be such a brat Gukkie! I'll have time to visit you!" Jeongguk pouted while crossing his arms, looking like a pitiful angry bunny, But Taehyung knew better. "Promise?" He grumbled, looking at Taehyung. His appearance screamed "irritated" but his eyes were screaming, "I don't want you to leave.." Taehyung sighed before ruffling his hair. "Of course, I always have time for you."

Well, apparently, that was a lie. It had been six months since Taehyung had left for uni. He missed his birthday, but he did get a gift delivered to his door by Namjoon who confirmed that it was from Taehyung and his heart soared with joy when he opened it and realized it was two of Gdragon's albums and one of IU's, with a small little note confirming that he was missed. Of course, Taehyung had his phone number, and they occasionally texted, But Taehyung was always busy or studying, or whatever. Jeongguk already missed him so much, And his hyungs too, of course. Jimin had gone along with Taehyung, Jin already owned his own restaurant, Where they would help him whenever they had the free time to. Jin was a fantastic cook, His food was one of the best in Seoul. Hoseok had also gone with Jimin and Taehyung, Following his dream to become a dancer, Which is also what Jimin is rooting for. Taehyung was majoring in Drama, for his dream always was to be an actor. Yoongi made his own music and was known by quite a few people for his talented piano playing, and how well he was at producing. He even had his own office for producing. There's no doubt he will only become more and more successful. Namjoon helped Jin out at the restaurant, Or at least tried to, Because as you know, he's clumsy as fuck and Jin doesn't want his precious porcelain sets to be shattered in a matter of seconds in the grip of the god of destruction. Yeah yeah, tell him he's being dramatic, but if you knew Namjoon, you'd say the same thing.

Anyways, Jeongguk visited Namjoon and Jin time to time, But always felt neglected whenever they got all lovey-dovey with each other. Like--

"Oh, Jeongguk! So nice to see you again!"

      "You too hyu--"

"BabE, I ACCIDENTALLY BROKE YOUR FAVORITE CUP, PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!"

"Aww, Joonie, I'd never~ I love you more than that cup! It was ugly anyway, My mother gave it to me and I pretended to like it so that she didn't get upset-- Don't tell her I said that!"

"Awww, love you too babe~ Wait, what?"

All while Jeongguk stood there, neglected.

RIP third wheeler Jeongguk.

He also visited Yoongi time to time, But he was also busy with work too. As a producer, He had many other things to worry about and barely ever had time for Jeongguk. Although he misses all of the hyungs, He misses one the most. Taehyung. He's been longing to see him again, To be able to physically hug him, Tell him how much he's missed him. But now he's stuck in the hell they call high school. He couldn't wait until HE could also go to uni.

Jeongguk sighed after staring at his phone, being left on read (feels bad man) when he sent Taehyung a "Goodnight hyungie <3 :D" So, he laid down, and slowly but surely went to sleep.

The next time Jeongguk woke up, He was in another world. How strange... This place is so unfamiliar, he thought.

The room was all white, it was almost nerve-wracking. Jeongguk walked around the room, With nothing to do and no way out. The only thing in the room besides  oxygen and the room itself was a TV and a chair. So, with nothing else to do, He sat on the chair and turned on the TV. Suddenly, a familiar face popped up. He squinted his eyes and recognized it as Taehyung. "Tae?..." his voice echoed in the practically empty room. A cold sweat rolled down his forehead as he continued to watch the TV. Suddenly it zoomed out and you could see Taehyung's whole form. Taehyung looked up from staring at the floor, everything was normal about him except his hair was blonde, and his eyes were an icy blue. Something about those eyes made his heart beat faster and he suddenly felt unsafe. Taehyung was wearing fancy silk clothing, used when someone was to go to sleep. They were an elegant color of navy blue, along with ashy gray and lined with gold. The filmed turned black for a minute and then suddenly Taehyung was facing away from him. There were scars on his back, Which confused Jeongguk, but he was even more confused when something began to grow out of them. Something white. His eyes widened when he realized they were wings--Now proudly spread out, showing all their glory. They were big, beautiful, perfect. Taehyung slowly turned around and gave Jeongguk a smirk before flying away, Where the film ends.

That's also where he wakes up.

Jeongguk wakes up, feeling breathless and stunned. What the heck was that all about? That must have been the weirdest dream he's had yet. He felt so confused, and he was itching to tell Taehyung about it, But he didn't because he knew Taehyung must have been asleep and he didn't want to disturb him because Taehyung had so much work and studying to do. He sighed, and pushed back his hair, revealing his forehead and eyebrows. "It was just a dream, Jeongguk, Just a dream... You're overreacting..." he whispered to himself. He looked at the time and realized it was three in the morning. He sighed again, turning back to his pillow, but when he turned back to it, he saw something.

      It was a white feather.

Plot is confusing but u kno, just go with the flo, brooo

I time skipped a lot, but in between the years they have known each other Taehyung was always there to support them. I promise to make a filler chapter tomorrow about more of their childhood and Taehyung's job as his guardian angel bc it must be so confusing since it seems like they barely did anything, but again, along with the original story im going to add short chapters of their childhood, such as when tae was in middle school and kook in elementary, so get ready for that

Chapter Text

After the strange dream Jeongguk had, He's found himself falling into his thoughts in the middle of classes, The scenes flashing in his head, with one question; why? Why did he dream about it, Why was there a feather on his pillow, Why was his hyung in his dream, Why?

Class hadn't started yet, and Jeongguk was early--Jeongguk was never late, Always on time and ready before it is necessary to be ready--So he just blanked out and went back to the dream he had, about a week ago. Suddenly, He heard someone calling his name and he looked up. It was Yuna, Who he was basically forced to talk to since their parents were good friends, And since they wanted them to get closer... You know, as lovers.

"Jeongguk! Jeongguk! Ugh, are you even listening to me?" She asked him while twirling her hair with her finger. She had obviously iron-curled her hair, was wearing red lipstick, mascara, eyeliner-- Name it, she's got it on. She wore shorts today with a crop top, and he cringed at her over-all fashion.

"Hmmm?" He replied, just as when she obnoxiously sighed.

"I said, did you hear about Jackson and Jisoo? They're dating now, I can't believe it!" She looked away before sighing. "It's such a perfect relationship..." before looking at Jeongguk again, "It's something we could have." She blushed while she waited for Jeongguk's reaction. Before he replied, he received a text from Taehyung, which made him immediately forget about that girl and open his phone in under three seconds. He could practically feel the disappointment seeping from Yuna. He ignored it though, because Taehyung had texted him, and it was about fucking time he did!

TaeTae♥

srry gukkie ive been busy with studying and all that shit, but i have a break this afternoon, wanna hang out or smthin? :)

Jeongguk smiled the moment he read the whole text, and his mood was suddenly a lot better. Finally, a time to hang out with Taehyung? He typed back...

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Jeongguk

Ofc hyung!! where and when?TaeTae♥ is typing....

TaeTae♥

when are u available?

      Jeongguk replied immediately.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Jeongguk

right after class, ends at 1;30, meet u at the cafe in front of it?

TaeTae♥

okkkk, see ya (`・ω・´)ノ

Just then, Yuna clicked her tongue and grabbed his phone, pulling it away from him. He reached to get it back, but she moved it away farther, clearly not satisfied at all.

"Tch, what's got you so distracted? Is it another girl?" she sneered, her eyebrows arched in clear annoyance. Jeongguk rolled his eyes and grabbed his phone back.

"Whatever it is, isn't any of your business." He retorted, shutting his phone off and putting it away. His day was getting worse now that Yuna was being a pain in the neck, But that doesn't matter because he'll be able to see Taehyung after a long while!

Yuna pursed her lips and went to her seat, which was, unfortunately, next to Jeongguk's just as the professor walked in.

Jeongguk didn't listen to the professor babble on some stupid things they probably wouldn't even need to survive, Instead, choosing to look out the window until the lesson was over. His day went on like that, Being followed by a very obnoxious Yuna who kept on babbling about the latest gossip or how she obviously tried to flirt with him repeatedly but he ignored her attempts. He hanged out with his friends, Kunpimook who went by BamBam, or with Yugyeom--The trio were very well known in their school, Especially Jeongguk for his ability to be good at just about anything, But sometimes, being well known isn't a good thing because then you have to deal with a bunch of weird, dedicated... "fans", if you could call them that.

The end of the day eventually came, though and boy, was he relieved when it did because he thought his brain was going to explode if he heard another word from Yuna. He grabbed his backpack and rushed out of the school and began his route to the cafe. He walked past, admiring the beautiful and vibrant colors of red, orange, and yellow leaves gathering up in the grass and flying along with the wind, dancing with it.

He arrived at the cafe but was obviously early. Taehyung had a bad habit of being late, so he was probably going to wait a while. He decided to go inside for warmth, for the autumn wind was getting a bit chilly, and took a booth, waiting for Taehyung. The waiter came over, asking for his order and for now, he ordered a black coffee. He didn't drink coffee so often, but he knew for a fact he did not like it with sugar. It was just too sweet, it didn't suit his tastes.

The waiter came over with his black coffee, and he thanked the waiter. As he was enjoying his coffee, the little bell chimed, signifying that a customer entered. He turned around only to end up staring.

It was Taehyung, and hell was he as beautiful as ever.

Taehyung looked around, then saw Jeongguk and smiled softly. He made his way over, making walking casually elegant somehow. Lots of people stopped to look at him before continuing what they were doing. Taehyung looked like a model.

As Taehyung approached him, He sat there and didn't do anything. He was shocked, Taehyung actually came? When Taehyung was face to face with him, he giggled and said, "Boo!" and that's when Jeongguk engulfed him in a hug, Almost knocking the both of them back, completely neglecting his coffee. Taehyung hugged him back with no hesitation, and that's when he realized that Jeongguk--He was crying.

Jeongguk's form was shaking and he was sniffling on his shoulder. Taehyung felt Jeongguk hold on tighter as if he would slip from his grasp again, never to be seen again.

"Hey, Hey, You're not supposed to be crying! You were supposed to smile and tease me about how I hadn't changed at all!" Taehyung said while rubbing Jeongguk's back. Jeongguk hiccupped then chuckled in embarrassment.

"I couldn't h-help it... I r-really missed y-you, And I m-miss you t-the most right n-now even though y-you're right in f-front of me... It's like.. A-are you even h-here?" Jeongguk forced himself to choke out, nuzzling Taehyung's shoulder. They were obviously causing a ruckus, people turning to look at them, So Taehyung shushed Jeongguk before holding Jeongguk's hand.

"Didn't I tell you I'd always be your angel? Why would I back out now?" Taehyung whispered to him, and it really comforted Jeongguk.

They sat down and talked for a bit, Before the waiter came over again, seeing Taehyung was here.

"And what would you like?" He asked Taehyung, As Taehyung bit his lip thinking of what he wanted.

"A Caramel Macchiato, please." He answered, The waiter nodding before turning to Jeongguk and asking him the same question.

"Uhh-- Another black coffee, pl--" But before he could finish his sentence, Taehyung cringed and said, "Make that two Caramel Macchiatos." The waiter nodded and walked away, and when he was gone from their sight Jeongguk looked at Taehyung.

"But, Tae--" and was shushed by Taehyung.

"I don't know how you can drink that garbage, it's disgusting!" Taehyung pretended to gag, which made Jeongguk smile a bit. Jeongguk just rolled his eyes.

"Whatever." was all he said before their coffees came. Taehyung immediately went in for his, drinking his Caramel Macchiato.

"Mmm! I love them, they're always so sweet and warm me up," Taehyung said after taking a few sips of his coffee, looking up at Jeongguk who hadn't touched his at all. He rolled his eyes and pushed it towards Jeongguk, pouting and giving him puppy eyes.

"Pleaaaaaaase? For me?" Taehyung asked in such an innocent way that Jeongguk just had to give in. Jeongguk took a sip, the sweetness unfamiliar and an alien flavor for his tongue, But he enjoyed the warm feeling of the coffee on his tongue. He drank the rest, setting his mug down.

"It's pretty good," Jeongguk nodded. "It's sweet."

"I know right? I love sweet things." Jeongguk nodded again, before blurting out, "I like sweet things, especially if they are you because you're sweeter than Caramel Macchiato." Then realized how embarrassing and cheesy what he said just was, and turned pink. Taehyung wasn't any better, his face as red as a tomato, but he chuckled anyway.

Just then, he realized that Taehyung's hair was now a soft blonde, and hell, did he look great in it. His hair was a bit longer than usual, but he could pull it off. He was wearing a tint of pink, not so much that it's disgustingly noticeable like Yuna's, But enough so that you can see it in the middle of his lips. He had some eyeliner on, too. Anyway, speaking of the devil, Yuna and her friends walked into the cafe, probably noticing Taehyung and Jeongguk from outside of the cafe. She walked towards the duo, obviously displeased.

"And what is this? Getting all lovey-dovey, Practically all over MY Gukkie?" She spat, As her friends backed her up by replying with "Yeah's!" Taehyung gave Jeongguk a confused look and Jeongguk just rolled his eyes, and replied, "Since when was anything in my life any of your concern? And I don't belong to you, knock it off." He spat with just as much attitude back. She looked taken aback, and said, "Jeongguk, we were meant to be! What are you saying?" And Jeongguk clicked his tongue in annoyance. He turned to Taehyung, and Taehyung suddenly looked pale, as if he just realized something.

"Jeongguk, I don't think..." But Jeongguk cut him off. "You wanna see how much I care about my future with you?" Jeongguk snapped right back, Then suddenly, it was like it was in slow motion as pulled Taehyung close and kissed him on the lips. His lips moved against Taehyung's, slowly and tender, full of love, As if all the words Jeongguk has been wanting to say had spilled out of his mouth right then and there. Yuna gasped, then her face twisted in disgust. "Oh, so you're one of those faggots too, huh?" She growled, Before pushing away her friends out of her path. "I don't want to fucking see you anymore, Have fun sucking his cock." She said before storming out the cafe.

Jeongguk couldn't care less, flipping her off as she left, But Taehyung was freaking out. "Jeongguk! Why'd you do that?" He whisper-yelled, his face bright pink.

Jeongguk's heart shattered, and he suddenly lost his confidence, "W-what, you didn't like i-it?" And Taehyung shook his head.

"No no, it's not like that, I did-- It's just-- Jeongguk, I've loved you for a while, but we can't..."

      "We can't? Why?"

"I don't have time to explain to you now--It's complicated... But I've got to go, Its urgent.."

      "But Tae--"

"I'll text you, we can meet up again tomorrow, okay?"

Was all Taehyung said as he rushed out.

Jeongguk watched as he rushed out, But was still satisfied because he knew that Taehyung had returned his feelings. But he felt like something was terribly wrong.

Taehyung quickly spread his wings, flying to the heavens in the middle of the forests, not much time to explain what had happened before things were ruined. When he got there, though, he could tell the king was enraged. The skies were a dark gray, and everyone was panicking. He hurriedly rushed to the palace and was met face to face with the angry king. Before he could speak the king looked at him, gritting his teeth, and seized with anger.

"You..." he began. "You have one week to fix the mess you've made... I gave you one job, and you blew it. His future, his destiny, was to be with Yuna. If that is not fixed in one week, You will not be welcomed here." was all he said before he dismissed Taehyung.

And that's when chaos wrecked havoc upon the seven best friends.

Chapter Text

"Tag, you're it!" Jeongguk, seven years old, squealed after tagging Hoseok when he least expected it. The seven of them were playing tag in the park because Jeongguk recommended it, and they were all bored, so why not? Jeongguk ran away from Hoseok, giggling and hiding behind the slide, where he met Taehyung and Jimin huddled in a corner. They pressed their pointer finger to their lips, signifying for Jeongguk to quiet down before Hoseok found them. Jeongguk nodded, and they sat there in hope (lol, hope) that Hoseok wouldn't find them. After it had been quite a while, They peaked out from their hiding spots to find Hoseok running after Namjoon, Who tripped and rolled away from Hoseok. Hoseok burst into laughter, and couldn't breathe, which gave Namjoon a chance to run away from the wheezing Hoseok. Hoseok began to walk towards the other way, and Jin, hiding behind a tree, gave them a signal to run away because they had the chance. Taehyung picked Jeongguk up and ran as fast as he could, Jimin close behind. Jeongguk giggle quietly when they jumped into a bush, Hoseok looking in that direction, confusion laced in his eyes before he looked away.

"Ow! Jimin, Be careful with my hair, You're pulling it!" Taehyung whisper-yelled to Jimin. Jimin only smirked before peeking out of the bush, and that's when he was face to face with Hoseok, whose smile seemed to be eerie all of the sudden. Jimin squawked like a bird, and backed up, bumping into Taehyung and Jeongguk who also squawked like birds. They got up and ran the hell out of there, screaming out, "HELP, HELP, HELP!" as Hoseok chased after them like a wolf would to its prey. Namjoon and Jin watched in fear, shaking while Yoongi was sleeping on the ground already.

"Thanks f-for helping g-guys..." Jimin panted as they walked to Jin's house, being the closest one to the park. It was only ten in the morning, Jeongguk's mother giving them permission to stay out until eight. They were also taking turns dragging Yoongi across the floor since he wouldn't wake up. Jin gives him a thumbs up, Namjoon grunts as he drags Yoongi, muttering something about how he was the one stuck with everything, Jhope continued to happily skip with much energy, And Taehyung agreed with Jimin, which also resulted in Jeongguk agreeing since Taehyung did.

"I don't think I-I wanna play tag a-again anytime s-soon..." Jeongguk sputtered out, Completely tired out, leaning against Taehyung. They all agreed, Hoseok bragging about how he was too good for tag. Namjoon whined about being too tired, While Jin just rolled his eyes, saying something along the lines of "Joonie, being such a whiny baby!" They continued their journey to Jin's house, quietly until they got there. They entered the house, Jin's parents weren't home which was nothing out of the ordinary. They weren't home very often, but Jin didn't mind too much. Once they entered, they made themselves home and sat on the floor of the living room, watching TV as Jin cooked something up for them.

It was comfortably silent until Taehyung tapped Jimin and asked, "Can you go outside with me? We gotta talk about something." whispering it only so Jimin could hear. He nodded, and walked out the door with Taehyung, Leaving Jeongguk's curious eyes to trail after them. They left the door open a bit, So Jeongguk looked around to see if any of his hyungs were paying attention before slowly making his way towards the door.

"Tae! You can't just go back! They're going to hurt you!" Jeongguk's attention was now focused on the conversation in front of him.

Taehyung stood silent, while looking down, in an almost guilty way. Then he looked up at Jimin and sighed.

"Jiminie, I have to... He said--"

"He said what, Taehyung? What did he say? That he would take away your wings? That he would kick you out and banish you? Tell me Taehyung, isn't that what he would tell you? Jimin exclaimed, face bright pink in frustration and eyebrows scrunched in anguish. But in his eyes? Pain. His anguish was raw, that anguish was for whoever it was that hurt Taehyung. That frustration is from Taehyung's stubbornness.

"You don't understand, Jimin." Taehyung chuckled, not sounding like the eleven year old he was. "I can't risk losing him, I can't risk losing you, or the hyungs, I can't lose what I love, What I live for, don't you understand that?"

Jimin chuckled, but it was anything but positive. It was bitter. You could feel all the negative feelings seep from him, and Jeongguk could tell Jimin was holding back tears.

"Tae, You can't always succumb to his will." Jimin said while gritting his teeth. Taehyung bit his lip before he said,

"I'm going Jimin. You can't stop me." Which made Jimin scoff and look away, looking unimpressed. Jeongguk watched and listened, wishing he understood the conversation better. The door made a screeching noise and Jeongguk felt his heart stutter in fear. Taehyung and Jimin turned to the door, lifting an eyebrow when Jeongguk revealed himself.

To save himself, Jeongguk yelled at them, "JIN HYUNG SAID IT WAS TIME FOR LUNCH AND TO COME INSIDEEE" before dragging himself to his seat. He decided to ask Taehyung about the conversation he had with Jimin, But he would ask him later.

Chapter Text

Jeongguk watched as Taehyung and Jimin silently made their way to the table, where everyone was waiting for them to start eating. Jeongguk adverted his eyes to Taehyung, Who looked distressed as everyone gave him a look of pity. Why did it seem like everyone but himself knew what was going on? They didn't stretch the moment longer than it should, and dove in. As they ate, Jeongguk watched Taehyung nervously poke his food around.

"Hyungie," Jeongguk suddenly spoke up, Startling Taehyung before Taehyung dragged his eyes away from his food and at Jeongguk, giving him a tired smile, nodding to let Jeongguk know he was listening. Jeongguk took a deep breathe before, "What was that conversation you had with Jiminie hyung about?" He saw panic flash in Taehyungs eyes as everyone not so subtly stopped talking and stared in disbelief. Taehyung looked like he wanted to throw himself a cliff.

If Taehyung was bad before, he looked in even more distress, stuttering upon his words. Jeongguk, Being an innocent young boy, was determined to find an answer.

"What did you hear? Jeongguk, Please tell me you didn't hear it--Jeongguk.." Taehyung choked out as his eyes filled with tears.

"ah-Hyungie! Don't cry, hyungie, no no!" Jeongguk said, suddenly jumping off his seat amd hugging his slightly taller hyung. "I didn't hear much because it was muffled, But Jiminie hyung looked angry.." He adverted his eyes from everyones sad gazes. "Why?"

"Okay guys! Time to wrap up dinner and go home, Taehyung and I have some important homework, so we will be taking our leave! Bye love you!" Jimin rushed before grabbing Taehyung and dashing out the door. Jeongguk watched them leave and turned to the other hyungs who gave each other knowing looks.

"JIMIN, I HAVE TO GO NOW!" Taehyung yelled through tears, Scared out of his wit.

"Taehyung, Fuck that man honestly! He's breaking you, Taehyung!" Jimin yelled right back, eyes puffy and rimmed red. Taehyung shook his head, pulling his hair hard before he whispered, softly, "Im sorry..." Before flying off, as Jimin dropped to the ground, crying tears of anger.

When Taehyung arrived, He was immediately thrown out of balance and onto the ground.

"You'll never learn, will you?" A man growled out. It was the new King, for the other had died saving the current King from a brutal death during the war they had with another Kingdom in Hell, which occured while Taehyung was gone. Taehyung missed the old one, how he treated him like one of his children. The current one was cruel and nobody could do anything about it. Taehyung looked down, on his knees as he waited for the pain, but it never came. He looked up, terrified. "Answer my question! Won't you ever learn?"

"S-sir, I--" Taehyung started shakily before getting slapped.

"I AM NOT LIKE THE LAST KING! THAT ONE IS DEAD, AND YOU WILL OBEY MY ORDERS!" The King--Who goes by the name of King horangi, which is tiger in korean-- screeched, Startling Taehyung more than he already was.

"I--"

"Faggots like you deserve to rot in hell, But im nice enough not to send you. Lay off the child before he becomes a faggot too." King horangi sneered. Taehyung knew that he would never send one of their best angels to hell unless they really did break the destiny of the human they guide and protect. It was very rare for that to happen, Most humans met their destiny, So Taehyung knew that even if he did love Jeongguk, He would end up heart broken. He was only nine but was grasping the idea of hardships in life.

Taehyung shook in fear and hurt, Tears streaking down his cheeks, as his wings wrapped around himself in comfort. "I-I'm sorry.." he gasped through tears. Just then, Someone threw open the doors, and rushed in. It was Bogum, Who was someone Taehyung would play with as young children, ever since he saved him from that terrible night. Bogum looked the situation before his ears reddened.

"What the actual hell? Your fucking job is to protect the angels, Not fucking batter them!" he spat, running to Taehyung and wrapping his arms around him to protect him from Horangi's icy glare.

"I am helping him, by teaching him a lesson so that he won't rot in hell." The king spat back before Bogum clicked his tongue and rushed out. Taehyung looked exhausted, a big noticeable bruise the shape of a hand turning purple on his gold skin. Bogum felt blood rush to his face. How dare that fucking piece of scum hurt his baby! He watched as Taehyung lulled in and out of sleep, finally shutting his eyes, his tiredness taking over him. He kissed Taehyung's forehead, before murmuring, "I'll keep you safe, my love."

The hyungs barely spoke, All concerned for Taehyung, But Jeongguk? He was confused. He was unsure of the situation, and even when his hyungs told him there was nothing to be worried about, he worried anyway. What was so important that Taehyung had to leave? Suddenly Jimin slammed the door open, punching the wall and recoiling in pain, screaming out as his fist bled. Everyone was terrified, making their way to Jimin.

"What happened, What happened!" They all screeched, leaving Jeongguk even more confused.

"Its Taehyung!" He sobbed loudly before curling on the floor and bawling his eyes out. Jin muttered something to Yoongi, and Yoongi nodded.

"I'm taking you home, kid." Yoongi bent down to tell him. Jeongguk shook his head.

"No, But Jiminie-" Yoongi shook his head.

"He'll be fine." Yoongi said before picking him up. "Take a nap, we'll be there soon." and take a nap he did.

The next morning, he found himself in his room, unable to remember what had happened yesterday. He tried all he could, but grumbled in frustration when nothing came up. He scrambled off his bed, heading downstairs. He had woken up late, it was afternoon already. Then he realized, Taehyung is here at this time! He ran down the stairs, ready to tackle Taehyung, but then noticed he was gone.

Taehyung wasn't there.

Chapter Text

Jeongguk never knew that someone could love another just as much as he loved Taehyung.

Ever since the day they met, Jeongguk had felt something for Taehyung but sensed that it was wrong to love him the way he did. Why? He didn't know. Personally, he didn't see anything wrong with it, But sometimes his consciousness would pour doubt into his thoughts. Isn't it wrong? To love a male when you are one too? Isn't it wrong to take advantage of his hugs or his smiles, and want to keep them to yourself?

Isn't it wrong to love someone when you are supposed to be loving someone else?

Ahh, yes, Yuna. He didn't know what he was going to tell his parents when Yuna and her big mouth eventually goes crying to them, Sobbing about how Jeongguk had kissed another MAN. Yes, he wasn't sure how his parents would feel if they found out, and he wasn't so sure of his sexuality anymore. He never found himself being attracted to any other male besides Taehyung. He sighed, already missing Taehyung. He left urgently, barely giving Jeongguk to even say goodbye. Jeongguk had a big feeling that he did the wrong thing, but his heart soared when he remembered otherwise. No, Taehyung told me he liked it, and that he liked me. But for some reason, he could not rid of his gut feeling that something was terribly wrong.

Taehyung still hadn't texted him back, and he was eagerly waiting for him to. What were they now? He wasn't sure, but he was sure of one thing; They were more than just friends. Jeongguk sighed as he brushed his hair back, revealing his forehead for a split second before his bangs fell across it again. This whole situation was stressing the hell out of him. His phone pinged, and he checked the notifications. Taehyung texted him, asking if he could come over, and Jeongguk typed back "ofc hyung, come over now !! <3" before closing his phone and getting up to shove a t-shirt on with some sweats.  He stood in front of his door, staring blankly at the ceiling and waiting for his hyung. His parents had gone on a business trip, and he was left here.-- Not that he wanted to go anyway, and he wouldn't be nagged when Yuna eventually told them because they are on the other side of the world in America.

The doorbell rang, and before it could ring a second-time, Jeongguk swung the door open revealing Taehyung, Who looked beautiful as always. He was wearing what seemed like expensive clothes, and probably were since Taehyung loved clothing brands such as Gucci. "Hyung, How could you like that? Most of the Gucci clothing are ugly!" Fifteen-year-old Jeongguk whined as Taehyung stopped to look at the Gucci clothing displaying on the window of the shop. They were supposed to be spending time together, But all Taehyung cared about was Gucci this and Gucci that. It annoyed Jeongguk because he wasn't getting attention, as much as he hated to admit it. "It's not ugly Gukkie! It's fashionable." Taehyung dramatically gasped, which made Jeongguk roll his eyes. "Whatever floats your boat, Taehyungie." was all Jeongguk replied.

Anyway, Taehyung looked great and could pull off anything, to be honest. His hair was obviously not styled, and he wasn't wearing makeup this time, Seemingly only having time to shove on some Gucci and visit Jeongguk. Jeongguk hugged him, pecking his forehead before dragging him inside. Taehyung still hadn't said a word, which concerned Jeongguk because Taehyung would always greet him whenever he saw him. Always.

He sighed and he sat Taehyung on the sofa, sitting across from him. Taehyung was looking down, his face hidden in shadows so Jeongguk could barely see it. It broke Jeongguk's heart, and he gently lifted Taehyung's face. That's when he realized that Taehyung was crying.

His eyes were puffy, tears threatening to cascade down his cheeks. Jeongguk froze, Wanting to comfort him but he knew somehow that no matter what his efforts were, It would not fix Taehyung completely. He resorted to asking Taehyung what was wrong.

"Tae... What's wrong?" Jeongguk whispered softly, brushing away the tears right below Taehyung's beautiful, big eyes. Taehyung didn't reply instead, resorting to sobbing and hiding his face in his palms. "I fucked up, Jeongguk, I fucked up.." He sobbed. Jeongguk wanted answers, but comforting his love was more important at the moment. After Taehyung had calmed down, Jeongguk asked again, "What's wrong, Tae?" Taehyung took a deep breath.

"Please, tell me you won't hate me.. Jeongguk, I have sinned, Jeongguk, I brought danger to you..." Taehyung gasped, his eyes filled with fear. Jeongguk tilted his head in confusion. "Please, let me explain..." Taehyung sighed. "I-it's about time you know."

"Jeongguk, I was your guardian angel. Your future was planned for you, You were supposed to be with Yuna for some reason. Anyway, I fell in love with you, But I wasn't supposed to.. I was ready to deal with rejection and heartbreak, but then you told me you returned my feelings and I was so happy, But then I realized that I did something very bad. Jeongguk, We can't be together. If I don't fix this mess, they will banish me from the angel realm, I will forever be a nuisance to the angels who reside in the realm. They don't approve of the angels being with mortals because they were already destined to be with someone else. Usually, it never happens, so it's very rare. Our king especially despises angels and humans who are attracted to the same sex, for some reason. He think's it is disgusting, and now that he knows about this, It might be the end of me. Angels are supposed to be pure, but I'm not pure Jeongguk. I'm full of sins..." Taehyung trailed off. "Do you believe me?"

Jeongguk was shocked with this new information. He shook his head, his smirk bittersweet. "Taehyung, you have got to be kidding me--Is this a joke? a prank? If so, you got me, Now can we please get to the REAL reason why you are upset?" Taehyung grunted in annoyance. "But that is the real reason! Want proof?" Jeongguk nodded his head, deciding to go along with it. Taehyung abruptly stood up, startling Jeongguk before saying, "You might want to turn your back, I don't think you want to see it physically happen with your eyes, It's kinda gross." Jeongguk raised an eyebrow before stubbornly huffing and turning his back to Taehyung. He could hear bones cracking, which made him feel a bit nervous. "Taehyung, what are you-"

"Turn around and look, Jeongguk." Was what Taehyung replied. When Jeongguk turned around, His eyes widened and his mouth dropped open.

He was met with the sight of Taehyung, in his naked glory. But what really caught his attention was his platinum blonde hair and icy blue eyes, different from the honey blonde hair and soft chocolate orbs he usually attained. It took all of Jeongguk's will not to look at Taehyung jr, Who wasn't small at all from what he's seen ;)

He was shocked, frozen as Taehyung fluttered his beautiful wings. His blue eyes met Jeongguk's onyx ones which gave Jeongguk an overwhelming feeling. Jeongguk stood up and slowly made his way to Taehyung, Who didn't move at all, not one step. He was close to Taehyung, close enough to feel Taehyung's warm breathe on his cheek. "Can I touch?.." Jeongguk asked, unsure. Taehyung nodded, and Jeongguk softly stroked Taehyung's wings, Which twitched in response. "You're so beautiful..." Jeongguk groaned softly, pressing his forehead against Taehyung's.

Taehyung softly nuzzled him before pushing him away. "But Jeongguk, I told you already, My wings would turn black--" he was cut off by Jeongguk. "Taehyung, No matter what color your wings are, No matter whether you are no longer an angel or not, I'll always love you. You'll always be my angel."

"But Jeongguk--"

"It's hard to believe, but I guess there is proof right in front of me... Taehyung, The king cannot force me to love someone else. With what you told me, He isn't exactly a good guy, At least your current one anyway."

"Jeongguk, Most of the angels do not like sinners like me, neither..."

"Taehyung, who cares about what those damned angels think of you? What matters is your happiness! Do you want to live in fear of being in the King's wrath, or do you want to be free? Tell me Taehyung."

"..."

Taehyung stared at the floor while biting his lip.

"Jeongguk, What would my mother think of me?"

"She's a sweet person, she'd understand."

"No Jeongguk, listen to me, let me tell you a story." Jeongguk rushed to his room to give Taehyung a pair of sweatpants, which he gladly accepted, And sat the both of them down.

"It all started when my mother met my father..."

Taehyung's father was assigned to guide his mother through her destiny.

They met when Mina was crying behind a tree, away from other kids, her face hiding behind her knees that were pulled him to her chest. She was at a park and was playing just fine until a group of boys came towards her and took her favorite stuffed tiger, throwing it in the mud all while laughing. Her parents were looking for her, and she knew it, she could hear their worried calls for her from where she was. She sobbed louder, shoving her face further into her arms when suddenly, Someone tapped her shoulders. She looked up and met gazes with a handsome boy, seemingly around her age. He had brown hair and soft warm dark chocolate eyes. He was frowning slightly at the distressed state of Mina. He was in a casual sweater with ripped jeans and black boots. He held a hand out, which Mina took while wiping her eyes. "Who are you?" She asked the boy, who smiled softly.

"My name is Taesoo. What's yours?"

Mina blinked twice before replying, "My name is Mina." The boy--Taesoo, smiled. "What a lovely name! Now, why are you crying?" The boy asked ,his voice hinting concern. Mina frowned, before she quietly replied, "This group of mean boys grabbed my stuffed tiger and threw it in a puddle of mud while laughing and calling me a baby as I ran away crying..." She watched as the boy's eyes scrunched with anger. "Show me them." He replied, his voice strained, trying not to scare Mina. Mina nodded, unsure before leading him to the boys, who were still kicking her stuffed Tiger.

"Hey!" He shouted, making the boys turn to him. "What do you think you're doing?"

The boys looked to be at least thirteen. Mina was seven at the time, and Taesoo was eleven. They all laughed at the duo, before one of them shouted over to them, "Ayy, We jus' havin' some fun, ain't that right guys?" All of the boys smirked before agreeing with the boy with the annoying fake accent.

"Oh, so you seriously have nothing better to do other than pick on girls that are younger than you guys by like, five years? Seriously, do you guys have any life at all?" Taesoo chuckled, Which angered the fake accent guy.

"Wot, Ya wanna go punk? Cuz' I ain't afraid of fightin' a puny twink like ya!" Mina was hiding behind Taesoo, tugging on his sweater. "Are you seriously going to do this?" She whispered so that only Taesoo could hear it. He shrugged before replying to the guy, "If you weren't so afraid then why are you spitting insults instead of jumping me already?" Taesoo spat back before walking towards them slowly. "Hand over the Tiger." He said smoothly and calmly. The boys looked at each other before looking at fake accent guy. He spat on the Tiger before replying, "Wot, ya gunna make me go on my knees and hand it ta' yo royal highness? bullshit." Taesoo rolled his eyes before sneering, "That stupid fake accent doesn't make you any tougher at all, in fact, makes you seem dumber than you already are if that was even possible." And that's when fake accent guy threw a punch at him that he skillfully dodged. The guy stopped and stared at Taesoo in slight horror. "Ya wunna try again?" Taesoo mocked him. The guy threw another punch and Taesoo grabbed his fist, twisting his whole arm. The guy cried out in pain before turning to his friends, who were staring in horror. "JUS' HAND IM' THE DAMNED TIGER!" he cried out, which sprung the other boys to life, picking the tiger up and shoving it into Taesoo's arms before helping their 'friend' up. "fuck you." The guy spat, which made Taesoo lift an eyebrow. "Want me to repeat what I did to your first arm to your second?" And he saw the slight horror flash across his face before his friends ran off with him. Mina watched the whole thing happen, her mouth opened ajar. Taesoo walked over to her chuckling. "close your mouth, Flies might fly in." He teased, Which made Mina close her mouth while blushing. "I-I'm sorry, that was..." she trailed off. Taesoo nodded in understanding. "They underestimated me, I'm actually pretty strong!" He bragged, obviously smug after he impressed Mina. Then he frowned, before sighing. "They messed your tiger up big time, But I promise I will wash it and give it back to you!" Mina tilted her head, before asking, "But how? You don't know where I live..." "It's okay! You can show me next time we meet. Next time you go to the park, I'll be there alright? I promise!"

And Taesoo kept the promise.

"They eventually realized they were attracted to each other and did things that they shouldn't have. One of those things was, creating me."

Taesoo held his head in his hands, after hearing the news that Mina was pregnant with his child. "Aren't you proud? We're finally going to have a family of our own..." Mina sighed happily as she stroked the little hairs on the back of Taesoo's neck. "Mina.. Yes, I am happy, but I'm afraid to tell you that we cannot have that baby." Mina froze before replying, "Excuse me?" Taesoo sighed in distress. "We're going to have to get an abortion." Mina's eyes flashed with the feelings of betrayal and hurt. "You.. You can't kill our baby! Why would you do that!" Taesoo grunted, before replying, "Mina, you do not understand!" Mina shook her head. "No, There shouldn't be any good reason for you to desire to kill our baby! Unless there is another woman? Tell me Taesoo, is there?" "Mina.. No, it isn't like that at all." "Then tell me, Taesoo! Why?"

Mina was crying at this point, which distressed Taesoo. He hugged her, stuffing his face into her neck before speaking up once again, "Mina, honey, I love you and our baby. No, there is not another woman. It is just complicated..." Mina tore herself away from him, before replying, "Then why! Why would you want to kill our baby if you love him!" "Mina..." Taesoo groaned in stress, getting more annoyed by the second. "It's complicated." Mina sneered, before arguing back, "So you think that you should kill our baby because it's complicated?" Well, the answer is no!" "Mina you do not understand! You can possibly die if you have that baby, and so can I! Don't you get it already? We weren't meant to be, You weren't supposed to have MY baby!" Mina sobbed, before replying, "That's all nonsense! What's wrong with you, Taesoo?"  "You cannot love me, It's wrong." Was all Taesoo said before rushing out of the house, leaving Mina alone to cry.

"I'm sorry, Taehyung.." Jeongguk sighed, playing with Taehyung's hair to relax his tense state. Taehyungs wings were retracted, his eyes and hair color back to normal. "It's okay, That is all in the past now, What matters is the present. I don't want to end up like my father did, So we must do something to fix this." Jeongguk huffed in annoyance. "If it involves me forcing myself not to love you, forget about it!" Taehyung pressed his lips together. "Or maybe, there is another way... We will gather up the hyungs tomorrow, okay?" Jeongguk eyes widened. "You mean, they knew about.. You all along?" Taehyung stared at the floor in guilt before nodding. "Yes, they did." He replied. Jeongguk bit his lip, Before sighing. "Alright, But this conversation isn't over." Taehyung nodded before his eyes began to close slowly. "Let's get you to bed."

Jeongguk carried Taehyung to his bedroom so that he could keep watch of Taehyung just in case if anything happened. Or, that was his excuse for having Taehyung there. He really just wanted to be able to cuddle with him for once. He set the already sleeping Taehyung down on the bed, pecking him on the forehead.

"Nobody can love you like I do, Darling." Was all Jeongguk whispered before he shut off the light.

Chapter Text

Taehyung slowly opened his eyes the next morning, stretching his limbs out.

He sat up, confused as to why he wasn't in HIS bedroom, and someone else's. He looked over to the desk right beside the bed, with a small lamp that was turned off and a bunch of papers that were written on and sketches scattered all over the desk. He couldn't read what the writing on the papers said from where he was (His hyungs always reminding him that he had poor eyesight) but decided to stop trying since it wasn't any of his business anyway. He turned to the closet, that had clothing messily thrown around. There were tons of white T-shirts and a few black ones that were neatly hanged up, but the floor of the closet was covered in articles of clothing. The curtains were a beautiful shade of maroon, that matched with the bedsheets. They were closed, but the sun casts a beautiful glow upon them, creating a graceful glow in the room. He noticed the many IU and Gdragon posters on the wall, sighing softly in relief when he realized that he was in Jeongguk's room and not some strangers.

He chuckled quietly as he turned to the said boy, who was asleep with his arm firmly wrapped around Taehyung's abdomen. Taehyung wriggled around, trying to escape his grip but Jeongguk only pulled him closer to his chest, stuffing his face into Taehyung's fluffy hair. Taehyung sighed in slight exasperation but he knew for a fact that he was liking the affection Jeongguk was gladly giving to him. The boy looked delicate under the soft glow of the room, striking looks even when he was asleep. Taehyung poked Jeongguk's big nose, giggling when it twitched and Jeongguk smiled sleepily before shifting a bit.

Jeongguk looked so peaceful when he slept, Taehyung just couldn't help but stare and appreciate the boy he loved with all his heart. His boyish, dark brown hair that softly brushed against his forehead, his strong and built thighs and biceps, and the noticeable, hard abs on his abdomen, His pierced ears and how they were accompanied by black hoop earrings, and his beautiful doe eyes--Jeongguk was a man that everyone would stop to look at when he walked by.

"Take a few pictures, it'll last longer." Jeongguk's raspy voice came, as he smirked smugly at Taehyung who blushed and averted his eyes. "Yeah, good morning to you too, sleeping beauty," Taehyung replied, rolling his eyes before rolling away from Jeongguk and getting up from the bed. He stretched out his back, before letting out a noise of satisfaction now that his back was eased. He realized he was wearing one of Jeongguk's shirts and sweatpants, the shirt oversized on him, and smelled like Jeongguk. He felt Jeongguk wrap his arms around his waist and pull him close, nuzzling the back of his head. He giggled, before pushing Jeongguk away and turning around, his face heating up when he realized Jeongguk was in boxers, only. (A/N: jeez, tae being such a school girl tho XD)

Jeongguk wriggled his eyebrows the moment he noticed why Taehyung was blushing which made the flustered Taehyung look away abruptly. "S-shut up!" He muttered, his voice cracking indicating he was embarrassed. Jeongguk cackled before he breathlessly replied, "I didn't even say anything!" Which made Taehyung pout. "You're so mean, Gukkie!" And now it was Jeongguk's turn to blush. He never got used to that nickname, it always made him feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and only when Taehyung said it. Taehyung snorted cutely when he saw Jeongguk's face heat up. "gotcha back!"

They finished their morning routine, Throwing cold water at each other when they were supposed to be brushing their teeth, and engaging in playful, childish arguments.

"Yahh! Gukkie, you're such a brat!"

"You're one to talk, you started it!"

"...So?"

"So you're the brat!"

"No!"

When it was time for breakfast, they skipped down the stairs, running to the kitchen. Taehyung hummed as he pulled out the eggs from the refrigerator. "I'll make breakfast, okay? You can wait or watch television or whatever. " Jungkook shook his head. "No, I insist, I want to help you!" Taehyung smiled. "Fine, just don't be in the way!" Jeongguk's eyes sparkled like a child's would after being handed their favorite candy. Taehyung cooed silently to himself about how cute Jeongguk looked like this. Then, Jeongguk confidently puffed his chest out. "Actually, I learned a lot while you were gone to uni! Jin-hyung taught me how to cook, I'm just as good a cook as he is!" Taehyung lifted his eyebrow up. "Hmm, we'll see about that."

Confident to prove himself right (he had a competitive side to him), He rummaged through the cabinets, pulling out a pan and oil. He placed the pan on the stove, poured the oil in, and turned on the heat. "Pass me the eggs, babe?" He asked, the "babe" rolling off his tongue. He realized what he had just said when he turned to Taehyung and he was a bright pink, but didn't comment on it or try to take it back since he knew that he had secretly meant it. Taehyung carefully handed him two eggs, which Jeongguk cracked expertly at the same time, before spicing the eggs up with salt and pepper. The whole time, Taehyung watched amazed. "Wow, you actually learned something while I was gone?" Taehyung gasped, Which made Jeongguk's eyebrow twitch in slight embarrassment and aggravation. He continued to do cook the eggs, and since he was so immersed in doing so, Taehyung decided to toast some bread and to make coffee for Jeongguk, since he knew Jeongguk liked coffee. As the bread toasted, he began to make Jeongguk's coffee. He made sure to add sugar since black coffee didn't suit HIS tastes. He poured orange juice into a glass for himself--he never really liked coffee unless it was sweet because he had such a sweet tooth. The bread popped out of the toaster, indicating it was done, so Taehyung hurridly placed the glass of juice and mug of coffee onto the table and strolled over to the toasted, removing the toast and placing them neatly on two plates, spreading them with the butter he found in the fridge.

As he was placing the butter back in the fridge, he found something that caught his attention. It was...

STRAWBERRIES

His eyes immediately brightened, as he pulled them out and ran towards Gukk, jumping up and down. Jeongguk, placing the cooked eggs on the plates, was confused as Taehyung jumped up and down in excitement.

"YOU DIDN'T TELL ME YOU HAD STRAWBERRIES, CAN I HAVE STRAWBERRIES? I WANT STRAWBERRIES, PLEAAAAASE?"

Jeongguk chuckled and then nodded. "Yes, of course, Tae."

Taehyung squealed and ran to his seat on the table, buzzing with excitement. It had been so long since he had strawberries and they were his favorite fruit. He missed the sweet taste of strawberry on his tongue and was eager to taste it again. Jeongguk walked over, holding the plates of eggs and toast, placing them carefully on the table. Then, he sat down and they began to eat.

Taehyung ate the eggs and toast first, taking his time eating his breakfast. He knew the king was probably furious with him, But he wasn't going back. Not this time. Jeongguk wouldn't let him anyway, But he knew that if he didn't find a solution that benefited everyone, or just the king himself, He was screwed.--He decided to worry about that after breakfast, when they met up with the hyungs. He downed his orange juice, pushing the cup to the side before grabbing a strawberry and taking a bite out of it. He moaned at the taste, eating the rest of it in less than a second. He ate a few more, sucking on his fourth one when he realized Jeongguk was staring at him intensely. He lifted an eyebrow and snapped in front of his face, which made Jeongguk flinch and come back into reality. "What..." Jeongguk looked confused when he realized Taehyung was staring right back at him and then looked away, scratching the back of his neck. Taehyung giggled, before passing a strawberry to Jeongguk, Who tilted his head slightly in confusion. Taehyung rolled his eyes. "Eat it, dummy!" Jeongguk facepalmed (which made Taehyung giggle again) and tried to take the strawberry, but Taehyung wouldn't let go of it. "No, I wanna feed you!" Jeongguk smiled a bit, before leaning in and taking a bite of the strawberry, swallowing it and giving Taehyung a peck on the nose. He took another bite and repeated the same process until he finished all of it. "You're my angel," Jeongguk repeated the words his younger-self said, making Taehyung's heart beat twice as fast. "It's ironic, isn't it? How angelic you were, how kind you were to everyone--You were like an angel, and it turns out you literally are one." Jeongguk chuckled, Taehyung also joining in, chuckling softly.

Suddenly, though, the mood fell after Jeongguk suddenly asked, "So.. When are you explaining everything to me?" Taehyung sighed, rubbing his temples. "I-I'll tell you, eventually... Just give it time, okay?" Jeongukk bit his lip but didn't stretch it out, instead nodding. "Yeah. Yeah, that's okay. That's fine."

They sent a long text to the group chat they created with their hyungs in it, Explaining everything. Each member responded quickly. Since it was Saturday, they technically had the day off from their work. They all agreed to meet up at Jeongguk's house, where nobody could hear them. Taehyung and Jeongguk sat on the couch, watching some American drama on the television they did not understand at all. The voices belonging to the actors occupied the otherwise silent room. After an hour of waiting, the doorbell rang. Taehyung shook the almost sleeping Jeongguk, Who got up and yawned slightly. "They're here," Taehyung muttered, walking to the door and opening it. Jeongguk followed him, The first thing he noticed was how different his hyungs looked. They had obviously aged, but in a good way-They were all so handsome. Jin looked like a model in his clothes, his black hair parted sideways and thick lips covered in a bit of pink chapstick. He was wearing a jean jacket over a black t-shirt with matching ripped anklets with black sneakers. Jimin had dyed his hair a blond, which he could pull off so well. He was wearing a slightly-oversized white sweater, with black jeans and black boots, his hair curled slightly. Yoongi, never one to like the cold (it was autumn, and he preferred rain over anything else--buT ANYWAYS) was wearing a light jacket, that was white. He also wore a black mask--Jeongguk assumed he was sick, because there was a flu going around. Under that jacket was a long sleeved Puma shirt. He wore black jeans as well, with white Puma sneakers. (A/N: y'know, Puma x bts is GREAT) His hair was now a light mintish-blueish color, the dye obviously fading and his hair had grown out a bit since his roots were a dark brown. Hoseok was as happy as ever, always being one to smile no matter what the cause. He wore a white long sleeved shirt striped with blue. The shirt had buttons on the cuffs, and buttons going down. He wore dark brown anklets along with brown dressing shoes. His hair was a unique shade of brown-orange, his hair parted in the middle showing off his forehead. Finally, Namjoon. Ah, his taste in fashion was.. Interesting, to say the least. He was wearing a pink shirt with Ryan on it, his favorite cartoon character.

"Joonie! Look, I found a cute cup set!" Jin squealed, calling for his boyfriend, But when he turned around, He wasn't there. His smile faltered, as he looked around. He walked out of the small store in the mall and noticed Namjon almost instantly because of his bizarre fashion choices. He was in a whole store based off Ryan, that character he liked so much. Jin clicked his tongue, before entering the store. "NAMJOON!" he whisper-yelled in his boyfriend's ear, who jumped in surprise. "U-Uh, babe, hahaha heyyyy..." Jin tapped his foot on the floor, crossing his arms while glaring at a very ashamed Namjoon. "Come with me!" He said, before dragging Namjoon by the ear back to the store he was. It was at that moment he noticed Namjoon bought so much Ryan merch.

He took a deep breathe in. "Namjoon?"

"Y-yes baby?"

"You're ridiculous."

"Thanks?"

Anyway, he wore black dress pants with flip flops, round glasses perched tightly on his nose. His hair was a light brown color and was messily thrown around.

"AIGOOOO, LOOK AT OUR JEONGGUKIE, HE'S SO GROWN UUPPPP!" Hoseok squealed, attacking Jeongguk and crushing him with his hug. Jeongguk choked slightly from the lack of oxygen.

"Lay off the kid, he looks like he's going to die from suffocation before you can say his name again." Yoongi suddenly spoke up, his voice muffled by the mask he was wearing. Hoseok let go of Jeongguk, pouting before stepping back.

After Jeongguk had gathered himself up, he smirked. "Your height didn't change at all, eh Jimin?" Jimin whacked him across the head. "That's Jimin HYUNG for you, brat." Jeongguk silently mocked him in a high pitched voice, resulting in another smack.

Namjoon coughs awkwardly, attracting everyone's attention. "So, We know the gist of why we are gathered here, but I think Taehyung needs to explain it a bit more," Namjoon spoke up after a moment of silence. Everyone nodded, Especially Jeongguk who gave Taehyung a knowing look. Taehyung sighed.

"Alright, So..." He started off, "This will take a while, uhmm.." Yoongi patted his shoulder. "Take your time, We have the whole day." Taehyung nodded.

Yoongi always had a soft spot for Taehyung. Despite being complete opposites, Yoongi understood Taehyung and Taehyung understood Yoongi. Maybe it had to do with the Daegu blood that ran through their veins or something, but they were close and loved each other like a younger brother would to his older. Taehyung looked up to him, Yoongi inspired (A/N: infires) him.

"Thank you, hyung. Anyway, It started when I first met Jeongguk--It was like love at first sight as cheesy as that sounds, but I was already so affectionate the moment he was born. I knew I'd protect him with my own life, like the king before Horangi told me to. I loved him, so much that it hurt when I realized he wasn't going to love me back. Whenever I took the chance to give him affection for my own satisfaction, Horangi got mad and.. He..He hit me. He beat me and told me not to do it before I turned Jeongguk into the monster I am.." Taehyung's voice cracked, on the verge of tears. "He-- He called me names like Fa-- I can't... It hurt so much... But I was stubborn, I wanted to love Jeongguk. I wanted him to love me back. Then he kissed me back in the cafe and I was so glad, I was so happy he didn't end up with Yuna because he deserved so much better, but he still deserves better, even with me. Hornagi is enraged, and if you guys get involved, your lives might be on the line, but there's a small chance that we can make it with a plan. It's going to be hard, but worth it., but first, I have something to tell Jeongguk..." Taehyung turned to Jeongguk. "Jeongguk, my love. I was given strict rules because you aren't completely human. I'm not sure what you are yet since the king died before he could tell me, But I know for sure that if you became powerful enough, you could destroy the world." Taehyung paused. "Jeongguk. They wanted me to stop you from becoming the monster you could potentially be, And after I did that, they were going to get rid of me and erase me from your memory once your destiny had been guided. If another destiny was written for you, you could have ended up with another angel, but then you had the power to break what they were forcing you to do and do what your heart told you to, which threw me into the pit and now we're both in danger... Jeongguk. We might die. We might all die. We need to do something now." Taehyung finished, a stray tear rolling down his cheek, glistening in the light. "Please, save yourselves.."

Seokjin stepped up before the stunned Jeongguk could say something. "Taehyung, no. We're either going to die altogether or we will survive all together, but nobody is left behind." He held Taehyung close to him. "You're too precious and important to let go, Hun." Everyone grunted in agreeance, Jimin and Hoseok joining in the hug. Jin smiled.

" You can't spell 'us' without 'you' "

Chapter Text

There was a time where amongst the crowds of human, lived those who weren't completely human peacefully.

They were divided into groups.

Angels were one of the most powerful creatures, for they can write the future, or write someone's fate. They've been around for so long, but nobody ever knew they set foot on Earth. As you know, the ones sent to Earth have a task to complete, either to gather information or to protect someone/guide them through their destiny. Failure in doing so can result in plenty of different punishments depending on how bad the failure was. If someone decided to rebel against the Angel empire, they were simply put to death, their name forever put in vain, though it rarely happened since so many Angels were afraid of dying. How is it possible for angels to die? Well, it's very complicated. Specific types of material are needed to kill Angels. It was practically impossible at that time for mankind to have access to it, so it didn't matter too much. First, their wings would have to be removed by hand, and in the slots where the wings should have been, is where the special poison is poured. They die a painful, slow death for the betrayal they committed until alas, they collapse. They are either sent to hell, or to the barren land of nothingness, Where those who were forgotten by the Angels of the empire reside. If not, you were sent to hell, Where Lucifer could do whatever he wanted with you. Your fate was in his hands, and if you had nothing special about you, He simply killed you and you were nothing, almost as if you never existed. Scary, right?

Anyway, they were always disguised as normal humans, but at any cost could transform back into their Angel half, whether it be to bring a message to the Empire or to protect the person they were assigned to guide, so long as the person does not remember it the next day. They do, in fact, have the permission to erase the person's memory of that scene if their cover would be blown.

Sorcerers were next in line. They were like humans, except with spells, books, all of that stuff. All of them lived amongst human And weren't needed to be kept secret like Angels. Humans knew they existed, and didn't mind at all since they never interfered with their society and normal life. They had various spells for a variety of things, For example, They could summon their own type of weaponry, use their mind power or they could travel through dimensions if they wanted to--But all that power comes with a price. If they do not have enough magic aura in their bodies, they can die. The aura is as important as oxygen is to the human body. Without aura, The sorcerers risk death, so they must always keep their aura in check. Abuse of their powers can also result in drainage of aura, so they must learn how to properly use their magic. As little children, They practice small spells such as moving a piece of candy from the other side of the room to their side, and then, when they are done, they can eat the candy-But of course, the spell practices become more intense as you get older until finally, you've mastered them. Teleporting through dimensions can only be done by those who properly master magic, for it requires lots of aura.

Next to the sorcerers were shifters. The more experience you had, the more animals you could shift into. Shifters were gifted with the ability to shift into any animal of their will, But if you shift too often in one day, Your bones could become weak and that would make you vulnerable. Shifting takes intense concentration, and even the littlest of distractions can affect your shift. You must be patient with yourself, for the time it takes to shift is different for each individual. Luckily, with intense training and practice, you could make yourself shift faster naturally. If your training to be faster goes somewhat wrong, you may brutally damage your bones and won't be able to shift ever again. Shifters must be aware of the type of training they are taking and must be aware of how many times they are shifting.

Then, there were healers. Healers have knowledge about medicines, herbs, and many more. Though they can't really attack, they are powerful enough they can even bring the dead back to life. Healers are not to be underestimated since they know so much about medicines. They know what they can do to you, and how they affect you. They're also very clever. Just when you thought you got them, They have a trick down their sleeve and suddenly, You're the prey now, not the predator. I wouldn't mess with them if I were you!

Last but not least, there are summoners. Summoners have the power to summon their spirit animal, Each one containing a different spirit animal depending on their personalities. The spirit animal has a mind of its own and will protect the summoner at any costs. The spirit animals only reside in summoners and only summoners have to ability to request the presence of said spirit animal. You cannot hurt the spirit animal, but you can hurt the summoner. You cannot change your spirit animal. The moment it has been decided, it will forever be a part of you. The spirit animal can never betray you. When you die, so does the spirit animal.

The whole group besides the Angels were called the Chihim, Which is 'strength', but combined with two languages. Japanese and Korean.

"Seriously? Okay, so.. I'm confused." Jeongguk sighed, as he banged his head against the table. The explanation from his hyungs hurt his head. Jin sighed in vexation. "I wasn't finished!"

Everything was fine until a great murder occurred.

Humans were dying for unexplainable reasons. Some arrogant humans blamed it on the healers since they had knowledge about things such as poisons. They said that they must have poisoned the people somehow. Others blamed it on the sorcerers, for magically casting a spell on them that somewhat made them die. They continued blaming them and blaming them for their deaths until the Chihim finally got tired of it all. They gathered all together, making a plan.

"We shall solve this without violence." A wise healer spoke up. "Violence solves nothing."

And so they tried.

"We did not kill those of your kind. You do not have evidence for your claim, So you cannot blame it on us." A sorcerer spoke up.

"You be quiet! There aren't any wounds on the dead people's bodies, how else can we explain that besides turning to you guys? It had to be one of you Chihim." The crowd behind him erupted into roars.

The Chihim backed up. "No, you're wrong--"

"Guess we'll have to kill you..." The man smirked, The crowd behind him once again roaring.

All hell broke loose.

"We really didn't want to fight, But we had to... Many of the Chihim died. We barely even won the war, but luckily the humans retreated. It was like a mass extinction, but with Chihim. Luckily, a few survived, And we were able to repopulate a bit. We are still rare to find, Which is why nobody else should know." Seokjin finished explaining. Jeongguk nodded.

"Okay, so, I know that Tae is an Angel, but what are you guys?"

Namjoon stood up to answer that question. "Jimin and I are shifters. Hoseok is a summoner, Yoongi is a sorcerer and Jin is a healer."

Jeongguk bit his lip. "Okay, so then.. What am I?"

They all looked each other, hesitation clear in the air.

"We.. Don't know." Namjoon sighed. "We told you this already." Jeongukk's head hunged in disappointment. "Oh, I see."

Hoseok patted his back. "Hey, brighten up buddy! It's okay!"

Yoongi coughed. "Okay, Is it time for the plan now?" Seokjin rolled his eyes. "Yes. Any suggestions?"

Hoseok spoke up. "We all know Taehyung has access to the Heaven empire. Perhaps he can..Sneak in." They all tilted their heads. "What do you mean?"

"They keep written documents of the people hidden somewhere on Earth so that when they get attacked, they will not be found right?" Taehyung nodded slowly. "They have their fate written out for them already, correct?" Taehyung nodded again. "So.. Can't you just take the document and rip it? That'll mean that Jeongguk can choose his own destiny by building it along the way. He can be with Taehyung and there will be no problem." Taehyung's mouth opened into an 'o' but then he frowned. "It's still forbidden, Hoseokie..." Taehyung sighed sadly. Hoseok shook his head. "It's worth it, though, Taehyung won't have to be stuck with Yuna. You know eventually, they will force him to love her--or at least that Horangi fu-- person, you know?" Taehyung chewed on his lip. "He's right.." Jin trailed off. "We need to get to those documents. Tae, do you know where they are?" Taehyung shook his head.

"No, but I know a friend who does..if I go back to the empire though--"

"Just go quickly to get your friend and tell him to come with you. We'll be here if anything happens, Send us a signal from above." Taehyung nodded nervously before walking out of Jeongguk's house, the rest of them following. He transformed urgently, His bones cracking into place as his wings poked out, his wings seemingly exploding out of his back as they opened wide, stunningly. He looked back at his friends, his beautiful blue eyes meeting with their eyes. "I'll be back soon." And he flew off.

He flew to the empire, flying around as fast as he could. This is going to be hard... Taehyung thought. Luckily, nobody paid him any mind. He flew around when suddenly, He couldn't see where he was going and crashed into someone. "Hey!" a familiar voice grunted.

"S-sorry!" Taehyung hastily got up, bowing a full ninety degrees in apology.

"TaeTae?..." The voice sounded surprised.

Taehyung looked up and gasped.

"Bogum? It's been so long!"

Bogum smiled, ingulfing Taehyung into a hug. Taehyung hugged him back.

"What are you doing here?"

"I was looking for Minho, But I think I could use your help. Can you come down to Earth with me quickly, Please?" Bogum was the King's messenger, so for sure he would know where the documents were.

"Why?"

"I need your help, I'll explain it in more detail once we get there. Are you going to take the risk?"

"Anything for you." and Bogum meant it.

But that was the problem.

"Really hyung? You'll come?" Taehyung's eyes shined with hope, his lips stretching softly into a smile. Bogum's heart melted. "Of course, I trust you enough." Taehyung engulfed him in another bear hug, Bogum smiling shyly as he hugged him back. "Thank you so much hyung! I appreciate you so much!" Taehyung squealed happily as Bogum played with his hair, still engulfed in the hug.

"No problem!" Bogum chuckled. "Now, down to earth, ey?" The cool autumn air blew against their hair, the gentle breeze caressing their skin. They engaged in conversation as they flew down to earth, the night sky a beautiful canvas splattered with dark purples and blues, the sky covered in pearly white stars. The moon was not out tonight, giving the stars full attention. They laughed and chuckled as they shared embarrassing stories, or listened intently when they were stating facts about one another.

"So, Taehyung, how's being on Earth going for you?" Taehyung smiled softly. "The friends I have made treat me right. Especially the boy I am protecting." Bogum cocked his head to the side. "Oh? I just assumed you went down to Earth on a mission." Taehyung shook his head. "I'm glad it didn't turn out that way."

Bogum didn't know what he meant at all, but he shrugged it off. They finally arrived. Bogum took his time to study each and every person, recognizing them easily for they had met multiple times before. He bowed to them. "Hello, Namjoon-shi. Hello Jimin-shi." Until he greeted almost everyone except for Jeongguk. His heart stuttered in confusion as he gazed at the boy, the boy meeting his onyx eyes with his own gold angel ones. "Who's this, Taehyungie?" Bogum turned to Taehyung. Jeongguk's fists clenched and his tongue pressed against his cheek but he said nothing. "That is the boy I am protecting, Jeongguk." That is the boy that I love with all my life.

Bogum nodded. "Ahh, makes sense." He turned to Jeongguk, stretching out his hand. "Hello, Jeongguk-shi. Nice to meet you." Jeongguk stared at his hand, then looked back t Taehyung who had a pleading look. He sighed, unclenching his fist and holding his hand out too, Meeting Bogum's hand in a friendly handshake.

"Nice to meet you too..." Bogum noticed he was waiting for his name. "Bogum," He answered. "Park Bogum." Jeongguk nodded. "Nice to meet you, Bogum-shi." "No need for the honorifics, It's okay." Jeongguk nodded slightly, before jutting his head to the side, looking at something more interesting, which so happened to be the grass. He was trying to avoid any more eye contact between his onyx eyes and Bogum's stormy gray. "So, why was my assistance needed?" Bogum asked. Everyone went silent, turning to Taehyung. Taehyung gulped, the silence ringing in the air, clawing at his heart. "You said you would do it, correct? Well, I need the documents. You know, the ones the empire has on the humans." Bogum cocked his head to the side. "Why is that needed?" "You said you would do it," Taehyung repeated. Bogum decided he wouldn't stretch it out longer. "Okay." He replied instead, sighing heavily. The rest of them could feel the tension when the sensitive topic was brought up.

"We promise it's for a good cause, Bogum-ah. It's very serious, And let's jus' say that if we dunt get it, Taehyung may be in..trouble." Yoongi spoke up, his words slurring slightly in an accent. He only spoke in his accent whenever he was losing patience.

Bogum averted his eyes, nodding. "Of course, I trust you guys. It's just-- It's really risky." Bogum sighed.

"Yes yes, we know, which is why you will tell us and we will go."

"It isn't that simple," Bogum stated. "Sure you could get away with it, But if Horangi somehow found out something was changed for some reason, We could be in some deep shit."

"Then don't say anything, don't act suspicious if it does happen." Yoongi shrugged.

Bogum bit his lip. When Taehyung had asked him for help, He didn't think it would be so complicated and risky.

"Alright." He replied instead. "So..."

"It's hidden somewhere-Where you cannot find it. Everyone was told that it was on Earth, but it actually isn't--That's only to fool those who are attempting to steal those documents. They're actually in another dimension. We placed them there because it is full of guardians. They aren't guardians of the heaven, but we made a deal with them so that they could protect those documents. The beings that protect them are called baltob, which roughly means claw in Korean. It is a very interesting name, But the reason of why they are called that is because they have long, sharp claws. With one poke, they can impale your body, so you must be careful. There are many of them. Some of them have poison dipped into their claws, some of them are normal, and some of them have ones that can heat into impossibly hot temperatures. They are not to be underestimated. I'm not quite sure how you will get there." Bogum explained, looking up to look at their reactions

Yoongi nodded firmly. "Do not worry about how we will get there. Do you think you can give us the name of the dimension? Otherwise, you best be on your way, then."

"Enhancia." Bogum responded. "That's the name."

"Wow, that's a cheesy name." Hoseok joked, laughing lightly as his own joke. The rest of them cracked a smile--It was almost impossible to not smile when Hoseok was.

"Thank you," Yoongi responded. "You may return to your empire, thank you for your service."

Bogum reached into his pockets, before dragging out seven crystals. "You'll need these, if you want to call me down just in case you need help." Bogum handed Jeongguk a red one, Hoseok an orange one, Namjoon a green one, Yoongi a dark blue one, Seokjin a pink one (to which he squealed in delight--he loved pink) Jimin a purple one, and finally, Taehyung a gold one.

Taehyung arched his eyebrow. "Why do I get the golden one?"

"Since you are also an Angel, You can summon me immediately because I'd be fucked if an Angel got killed, somehow. Also, because this is YOUR mission--You would be aimed on constantly, So you'll probably need my help more often. This Crystal will immediately teleport me. It's also the color of your aura." Bogum explained, lying slightly about the first one. He gave it to Taehyung because he cared about him, and didn't want him to get hurt at all while on this dangerous quest. Taehyung jutted his head in acknowledgment.

"Thank you." Namjoon murmured, Before Bogum waved, spreading his wings and flying off.

"So, if we are going to teleport to another dimension, We will need magic--I've got this." Yoongi explained.

They looked at each other, worried for Yoongi.

"But Yoongi hyung, You might get hurt--You haven't used your power in so long, and you need so much of it to teleport to Enhancia.." Jimin spoke with worry laced in his voice. Yoongi smiled softly.

"It's okay, Jimin. I'll be fine. It's for Taehyung-ah and Jungkook-ah, right?"

Jimin nodded slightly, before looking down.

"But before we do that, I'll need my book. I left it at home, so we must get it. I will warn you guys though like Bogum said, those creatures aren't to be underestimated. We will need to use our power, We will need to train, and train hard. We will leave at twelve AM sharp tomorrow so that nobody will notice we left. We haven't been using our powers, so they will be a bit rusty. We do not have time for horseplay, it's time to get serious now." Yoongi's monotone voice resound in the room.

"We're going to fight until our dead bodies hit the floor."

Notes:

Short chapter since I didn't have time to make more. There will be perhaps four parts to this, If I don't have enough time to write a proper chapter--ill prob go back and fix them tho, since this was rushed and probably isnt at its best

"I will love you always. When this red hair is white, I will still love you. When the smooth softness of youth is replaced by the delicate softness of age, I will still want to touch your skin. When your face is full of the lines of every smile you have ever smiled, of every surprise I have seen flash through your eyes, when every tear you have ever cried has left its mark upon your face, I will treasure you all the more, because I was there to see it all. I will share your life with you, Meredith, and I will love you until the last breath leaves your body or mine."

Chapter Text

I insist you should come in. It's really not a bother." Yoongi sighed, The breath forming a cloud in the cold air. He was going to get his book, But the other six were being stubborn. They didn't want to be a bother and told Yoongi they could wait outside. "It's not like it's going to be a quick visit anyway. Just welcome yourselves in." Jimin shivered, looking up at Yoongi with his brown eyes squinted as tears caused by the cold threatened to fall. "A-ah.. T-thank you h-hyung!" Jimin bowed, his teeth chattering in response to the cold. Yoongi's heart clenched as he saw the state Jimin was in. "You're welcome." Yoongi nodded, Sending a small smile to Jimin.--The rest weren't any better, Their cheeks and noses red and their whole body shaking with cold. He welcomed them inside, Each member slowly moving to the door and entering the house.

It was so nice and warm inside Yoongi's home. It was furnished quite fine and smelled like fresh wood. A plain brown rug covered the center of the living room, Where the sofas were circled around. There were multiple shelves with books, plants, and plenty of other things. Jeongguk took the time to look around and dig the sight into his memory. He had never, NEVER EVER seen Yoongi's home. He's only ever seen Yoongi in his studio whenever he visited him--Yoongi was almost never home.

They all settled down onto the couch, Each sighing in relief now that they are now warming up. Yoongi cleared his throat, gathering everyone's attention. "Well, I'm going to go look for the book, So... You guys can help yourself with anything in the kitchen, And turn the television on if you want..." He said before walking away.

Yoongi shivered slightly as he reached the basement. It hadn't been touched in years...

No.

He wasn't scared.

Yoongi is fearless. Nothing scares him.

He can do this.

He slowly unlocked the basement door, The door opening of its own accord. He looked down the stairs, suddenly feeling dizzy. The cold gusts from the basement were like harsh slaps to his face, the gusts coming from nowhere at all. He hesitated, Before stepping on the first stair. It creaked, snarled, as Yoongi's foot met with the wood material of the stairs. He turned the switch on, the lights flickering to life as he made his trip down the rest of the stairs. The moment he was off the steps, a strong gust--coming from outside, assumingly--Shut the door, the slamming sound echoing and bouncing around the walls. Yoongi sucked in some air. The basement was so eerie. There were webs, everywhere, and dust was found in every corner of the room. Yoongi coughed as he inhaled some dust, walking towards an old-looking bookshelf. His fingers danced across the books, pulling one out occasionally to look at the title, but he never found the right one. He grunted, impatient with himself. He didn't have all the time to look through EVERY single book. The basement was scaring the shit out of him, too. He looked to the top of the shelf, Noticing a book--Thicker than the rest--And pulled it off the shelf. He blew on it, blowing away the dust as the tips of his fingers rubbed against the red leather material. He slowly opened the book, and was met with bold, gold text. He read the following;

There are rules for sorcery, for the power it contains may be bigger than you think it already does

If the power is abused, there will not be a good cause

If you solve this riddle, you will pass

And if not, your heart will shatter like glass.

You will be gone, gone from existence

So please, do not be persistent

You got yourself into this mess

Now it's time to cry in distress

If you want to live, You must solve it right

If you do not, then hopefully you do not put up a fight~

Suddenly, unnerving whispering filled Yoongi's ears, As he looked around in terror.

"W-Who's there! Reveal yourself!"

The whispering quite down.

Silence.

"I SAID REVEAL YOURSELF!" Yoongi shouted, his face turning red as his veins dangerously pulsed.

Silence.

Yoongi grunted, looking around the room. Suddenly, he heard something shifting.

"Nobody has touched that in so long." A voice spoke up, startling Yoongi. The voice was sinister, impossibly deep. A big, shadow figure moved away from the shadows next to the bookshelf, where it was hidden ever since the book had opened--Being released from the book.

"What the actual fuck?" Yoongi spat, Staring at the figure with big, creepy white eye sockets that were so big, it was inhumane. (He doubted it was human anyway.) As it towered over him, It's large claws dragging themselves across Yoongi's chin.

"So, you want the book?" The creepy figure asked. It didn't have a mouth, So when it spoke up, Yoongi jumped up slightly. The figure chuckled.

"You're quite a jumpy one."

"Shut the fuck up, Who do you think you are anyway?" Yoongi growled, Obviously irritated.

The figure recoiled back as if offended.

"Listen up, pipsqueak. You think you're so cool, But I can kill you with just a snap of my fingers so you better shut your trap." The gusts grew stronger, Yoongi holding himself in place firmly so he wouldn't be blown across the room. He grit his teeth but said nothing for the sake of needing to help Taehyung. For the sake of helping his friends--no, his family, his only family.

"What do I need to do?" Yoongi asked instead, as respectfully as he could despite wanting to snap at the ugly shadow-thing.

"Did you not read the text? You must solve my riddle."

Yoongi snorted. "That's kind of du--" but stopped himself before he could finish the sentence. He couldn't risk it at the moment. "Alright, what's the riddle?"

Suddenly, everything in the room began to shift before his eyes, Until the Basement was one giant maze of bookshelves. The shadow figure disappeared, leaving Yoongi alone in the labyrinth of bookshelves, so tall, he couldn't even see the very top. "You must pass this maze, and once you reach the end, You will meet two guards--Both identical. They are each guarding a door, one leads to your death, and the other leads to your victory. You will get to keep the book and return to your friends, who are waiting for you upstairs. You can only ask each of them ONE question. One of them lies, and the other tells the truth. Good luck." And Yoongi was left with the ghostly silence of the room.

Well, fuck.

Yoongi groaned, obviously displeased. Who knew that just to get a goddamn book, it was going to be so much work? He decided that staying in one place wasn't going to do anything, so he roamed around. Every hall looked the same, dark, eerie--terrifying. He could have sworn he heard some echoed screams of pain but decided it was just him being paranoid. The lights flickered on and off, Which made Yoongi snort. This shit always happens in horror movies. He turned a corner, his shoulders sagging when he was met with another dark hall. He turned, kicking the bookshelf with all his might, exasperated that he was still in this stupid maze. He managed to kick it so hard, the bookshelf fell over, creating a loud thud. It knocked over another, and another, and another until finally, they were all knocked down. He mentally slammed his face against a table. If it was that easy, He spent all that time for nothing! He jumped over the bookshelves as he spotted the guards, and as told, they were waiting by two doors, guarding them. He cautiously made his way towards the stiff bodies, Who didn't even so much as spare a glance at Yoongi, staring off into the distance. Yoongi cleared his throat, attempting to capture their attention. They slowly turned to him, Dressed in silver armor. The shadowed figure was right, there was really no difference between them.

Yoongi licked his lips. This could cost his life. Oh, all of the crazy and stupid crap he would do for his family. He turned to the man on the left.

"Are you a guard, guarding this door?"

The guard hesitated.

"No."

Yoongi chuckled a bit, this being an easy win. He walked over to the next guard;

"Which door is the one that will lead to my victory?" The guard pointed at the door across from him, the one where the other guard was standing.

He walked over. "This is the right door."

The guard nodded.

"Move to the side, please?"

The voice he hated so much spoke up.

"Ah ah ah... You'll have to fight him first." Yoongi's eye twitched.

"Wit' what weapon?" He asked, peeved.

"Intelligence. I must see if you are worthy of being the master of this book." The deep voice replied.

He froze to a clattering sound. He turned around and was met face to face with the guard, equipped with a sharp, long sword.

"This was not part of the deal!" Yoongi yelled in distress.

"You'll do it anyway. You need the book."

Yoongi bit his lip, because he knew he was right. He could feel the cold glare of the guard piercing into his skin.

Damn, I'm fucked. Was the last thing Yoongi thought before the guard charged at him.

Chapter Text

A cold sweat ran down his neck as his mind tangled with thoughts, unable to actually think of something to do with the shock he was in. He wasn't going to make it out of here alive. He's fucked, He's going to die, They're going to find his dead body in the basement, And Taehyung's going to die too...

No.

Taehyung wasn't going to die. Nobody was. Because he was going to get out of here with that book in his palm where it belonged.

Even if he has to fight until he tastes the metallic blood at the back of his throat.

His family loved him.

He loved them back.

He loves Jimin. He loves Taehyung. He loves Hoseok. He loves Namjoon. He loves Seokjin. He loves Jeongguk.

There's no way in hell he would lose to some lame knight-in-not-so-shining-armor.

Yoongi doesn't need armor nor a weapon to make him unstoppable.

He had his family.

He knew what he had to do.

Right before the sword pierced right through him, He skillfully dodged the attack, Which received a hoarse gasp from the Guardian. While he was distracted, Yoongi ran to the other Guardian--Who was distracted by the fight and kicked him down from behind, grabbing the sword he let go of so that his hands could hold his weight on the ground. Then he turned just in time to see he was being targeted again.

His grip around the sword was firm despite his sweaty hands. He was going to survive this even if it cost his blood sweat and tears. (A/N: see what i did there)

He watched as the Guardian recovered from his shock, regaining his position before charging at him again, his armored boots clacking against the floor. Yoongi moved over to a pile of bookshelves slowly, So that the Guardian wouldn't catch him. Right before he was stabbed in the chest, He dodged it, causing the Guardian to hit the bookshelves so hard the armor cracked, revealing a shadowed form. He stabbed it where its heart should be, Causing it to disappear into thin air, The pleased hum confirming his win. There was no time for a victory dance though, Because...

Yoongi had a wound.

It was bleeding, fresh blood gushing out of his arm. He managed to dodge a fatal attack but ended up wounding himself anyway. He hissed as his cut made contact with the dusty air, irritating the wound. He gasped as sharp waves of pain traveled throughout his whole body. If Seokjin was here right now, He would be nagging him about how he should be more careful, and then clean the wound as gently as he could.

But no, Seokjin wasn't here.

His only company now was the darkness, The other Guardian disappearing to somewhere.

"You have proved yourself worthy." The deep voice spoke up after the battle.

"Hell yeah, I'm worthy," Yoongi spoke up, his voice quivering slightly. The voice chuckled.

"Even when your injured, Your attitude stays with you. Take good care of the book. You may now walk through the door of victory."

Yoongi was about to complain about his wound but said nothing. He wanted to leave as soon as possible. He slowly limped to the door, opening and walking through it.

He closed his eyes, and when he opened them, he was in his living room.

Everyone's eyes were on him and not the television.

Seokjin was the first to speak up, "OH MY GOODNESS, YOONGI! YOU'RE OKAY! WE HEARD SUCH A RUCKUS DOWN THERE, WE TRIED OPENING THE BASEMENT DOOR BUT IT WAS LOCKED SHUT, WE'RE SO GLAD YOU'RE OKAY--" Seokjin choked on his words. He turned to see Hoseok and Jimin sniffling--Always being the sensitive bundle--And immediately felt horrible for making his loved ones worry.

"I-I'm fine, thank you." Yoongi smiled weakly, and that's when Seokjin noticed his wound.

"Goodness me, What happened here?" Seokjin asked, staring at the torn clothing now covered in blood. The blood was still streaming down his arm like a river.

"That doesn't matter right now, What we need is to get Yoongi-hyung patched up," Namjoon spoke up, speaking with uneasiness as he stared at the very graphic gash on Yoongi's arm. The rest of them murmured a "right" before Seokjin sighed.

"Yes, He needs that to be cleaned," Seokjin replied, before grabbing Yoongi's hand gently. "Come on," he ordered Yoongi softly.

Yoongi let himself be guided into the bathroom, where he was sat on the toilet, groaning. He looked to his right, watching as Seokjin rummaged around some cabinets for a first aid kit.

"Ah ha!" Seokjin exclaimed as he pulled out a first aid kit, seemingly unused. He opened it, picking out the bandage wrap and isopropyl alcohol wipes.

"Can you take your shirt off, please?" Seokjin asked, looking up at Yoongi who nodded slowly in response, removing his shirt. Seokjin took a good look at the ugly cut and sucked in a breathe.

"This is going to hurt," He sighed before pulling out one wipe and gently patting it around Yoongi's gash.

The moment the wipe touched his wound, Yoongi flinched, letting out a pained grunt as Seokjin tried to clean it without hurting him too much. Yoongi shifted, trying to get away from the wipe but there was no use when Seokjin had a firm grip on his arm. "I know, I'm sorry it'll get better soon."

After Seokjin (finally) finished cleaning his wound, He gently wrapped the bandage around it, protecting it from whatever could harm it and infect it. Yoongi let out a relieved sigh as the pain was finally over.

"T-Thank you, Hyung." Yoongi murmured.

Seokjin just nodded.

At that moment, he noticed Yoongi was holding something.

"Hey Yoongi, what's that you got in your hand?" Seokjin asked, referring to the book Yoongi had kept secured in his arm the whole time.

"Ah yes, I got the book." Yoongi remembered, suddenly feeling that the struggle he went through was totally worth it.

Seokjin smiled. "Yes!!" He started bouncing up childishly, Causing Yoongi to smile softly.

"It was worth it, trust me."

"I think you need to explain what happened down there to everyone though." Seokjin chuckled.

"Oh, Oh yeah."

Seokjin led Yoongi to the living room, where everyone was practically half asleep.

"So, Guys..." Yoongi started, immediately grabbing everyone's attention once again.

"Long story short, there was this shadow dude thing that was residing in the book and told me to solve this riddle to prove me worthy of the book, which I think is kind of dumb but whatever. Anyway, I had to find my way through a maze and then the riddle after that was that I had to go through the right door, one leading to my death and the other back to here with the book in my possession, but I could only ask one question per guard. So I did, and I found the right door but then shadow dude told me to battle the guard and I was pissed because that wasn't part of the deal but fuck it. Anyway, Now I'm going to have a badass scar so don't mess with Yoongi." Yoongi finished explaining, looking at everyone's expression--Priceless.

Their mouths were opened so wide, it was ridiculous.

"Whaaa?..." Jeongguk whispered.

"Wow, that's.. Interesting... Are you okay though?" Jimin asked.

"Yes, I'm fine now thanks to Hyung."

Yoongi cleared his throat.

"Anyway, So we'll have to work on our abilities again in order to be able to actually thrive in that portal. I don't think I can even summon it with how long my power has been dormant, So..." Yoongi trailed off, licking his dried lips.

"What about Jeongguk?" Hoseok asked.

Yoongi thought for a moment.

"I'll give him a weapon to use for a bit. I'll teach him how to use it--That is until his power is exposed... Just hope it isn't so much power it consumes him." They all shivered at the thought.

"No. I won't be consumed by power, I promise." Jeongguk said firmly.

Yoongi shrugged.

"Anyway, I'll teach you how to use a sword. Then Hoseok and Jimin can train you to fight with what you were given, Or perhaps you already know how to fist fight and stuff." Jeongguk nodded in understanding.

"The rest of us will sharpen our skills to make sure they aren't so rusty. We can't risk it in Enhancia." Five heads nodded.

"It's going to be a looooooooooong night."

Chapter Text

Bogum never knew he could be so in love with someone he wasn't even supposed to love.

The day he met Taehyung was like fireworks on the perfect fourth of July celebration.

Taehyung had always been a late bloomer, was never able to fly as soon as other angels were. Sure, he could fly, but just a bit. He was always harassed for it and was outcasted just for his current inability to fly. Nobody did anything about it, though--Whenever he was seen with cuts or bruises, Angels decided not to throw themselves into the situation.

Bogum was his bystander. He knew Taehyung got beaten and bullied, battered by them, and he knew he lied to his parents about those wounds and bruises, but he could never find it in himself to speak up. As much as he hated to admit it, He was scared of being targeted too, So he didn't say anything, not a word. He watched as Taehyung limped around and hissed in pain, He watched as they plucked the feathers out of his wings until one day it went too far.

"Hey, You little cunt. Want to play a game?" A terrifying-looking boy asked Taehyung when they had found him from where he was hiding--Not that his answer would matter anyway, but he still tried. Taehyung shook his head aggressively before trying to scramble away from him, but the boy grabbed his arm harshly before he could. Tae let out a hoarse cry before attempting to tug his arm away.

"Ay, Guys! I found the dumbass." The boy hollered to a group of angels, Who smirked--their grins dripping with " evil intentions". Taehyung's eyes widened. N-no, Not again! He kicked the guy's chin with as much strength as he could before breaking for it. He could hear the guy's pained groan as he ran away, the boy growling and yelling a, "AFTER HIM!"--which was almost too faint for Taehyung to hear at the speed he was running. Taehyung's head pounded in alarm as his tears blurred his vision. He didn't know where he was running, nor did he care as long as he got away safe. He ran into an alleyway in hopes they would lose sight of him. He looked behind himself, sighing in relief when he saw that nothing was there.

He sat down, taking a few moments to breathe before his breath was cut off by a hand wrapping around his throat.

"You think you could get away?" The boy muttered quietly with so much venom in his voice. Taehyung could only respond with choked cries.

"Don't know why the king thinks you're so worthy. You're a fucking scum bag, you know that right? The King only pities you. He looks down at you, and who can blame him? I mean, look at you!" Taehyung's tears spilled like waterfalls down his cheeks.

"You outta learn a lesson." The boy whispered, before harshly removing his hand from Taehyung's throat, causing him to gasp in gulps of oxygen needily.

"Turn around." The boy commanded. Taehyung stood right in the same position.

"I said, Turn around." The boy growled, his eyes darkening threateningly as he plucked a few feathers from Taehyung's wings. Taehyung wailed in pain as his feathers were torn off forcefully, scarlet streaking across his pure white wings. The boy decided to turn him around himself. He ripped Taehyung's shirt off, Slowly undoing Taehyung's pants.

"N-no.." Taehyung sobbed.

"N-No! Stop! S-someone h-help!" Taehyung screamed, struggling against the strong hold before his mouth was covered by a hand.

Taehyung whined in defeat, accepting his fate as the boy continued to undo his pants.

But the boy never finished undoing those pants. Taehyung could only listen to the sound of another voice bickering with him.

"And you think it's alright to hurt him only because he cannot fly? ESPECIALLY attempt rape? You think I didn't see that huh? I can immediately report to the king. I've been knowing about those troubles you've caused and I've even got proof. LEAVE right now and never show your face to him or I EVER again or else, the king will find out about it." The new voice snarled, pushing the boy who stood speechless after he declared what he'd do and scurried away in fear of being punished by the king for all his wrong-doings.

Taehyung jumped as a gentle hand made contact with his bare shoulder, Shaking slightly at the cold weather.

"Are you okay?" the mysterious fellow asked, before blinking twice. "Uhm, actually--It's evident you aren't. Come with me."

Taehyung backed away slowly from him, terrorized that he might try something on him after gaining his trust. The boy's eyes softened.

"Look, I'm not here to harm you. My name is Park Bogum, and I am in training to be the King's personal messenger." Taehyung suddenly perked up at the phrase "King's personal messenger".

"Rea--" He broke into a fit of coughs, and cleared his throat.

"R-really?"

Bogum smiled softly.

"Yes. You can trust me, I guarantee. I'm not like those Mother fu--Pardon my French." Bogum scratched the back of his neck embarrassed. Taehyung giggled in response, beaming for the first time since this morning.

"So what's your name?" Bogum asked as he supported a limping Taehyung to his place. He had insisted on bringing Taehyung to the hospital, But he shook his head persistently.

"No, it's fine! I-I deal with this kind of s-stuff all of the time..." Taehyung trailed off.

I know, Bogum thought but resorted to shaking his head instead. So he had invited Taehyung to his house. "It's no bother, really."

"My name is Taehyung, But you can just call me Tae! Thanks so much, by the way for standing up for me Bogum-shi."

Bogum chuckled. "The King's favorite, huh? Just call me hyung."

Taehyung blushed, pursed his lips and nodded."Okay, hyung!"

They finally arrived at Bogum's house, and it looked beautiful. Taehyung's eyes sparkled with admiration at the elegant decorations and furnishing done inside.

"Wooooahhhh.." Taehyung gasped as he looked up at the grand chandelier hanging in the middle of the living room. Bogum tugged him along, leading him to a bathroom with vast space.

"You might wanna take a nice warm bath. It was cold out there, And with all of the running you've been doing, I think you need it. Make sure to clean your wounds too." Bogum suggested, Taehyung reluctantly agreeing with him--Not wanting to be a bother.

Taehyung looked down at the sweater Bogum gave him to borrow, frowning when he saw the blood staining the fine cloth. "I'm so sorry--"

Bogum's eyes trailed to where Taehyung's were.

"Oh no, it's fine--Especially if it was for a good cause." Especially if it's for you.

Taehyung is just too pure for the world, Bogum thought. He had only just met him and was already so mesmerized by him. How could that horrible boy dare try to assault him?

He watched as Taehyung thanked him before entering the bathroom, closing the door behind him. He sighed, trudging to the other bathroom and hunting through the cabinets. Grabbing out some clean bandages, he walked out, waiting for Taehyung to finish outside of the door. The door opened slowly, revealing a bit of the steamy room.

"H-hyung?" Taehyung whispered, looking up at Bogum innocently.

"Yes?" Bogum replied, staring back down at those gorgeous, enchanting orbs.

"U-uhm, I need a t-towel.. Mind getting o-one for me?" Taehyung's crystal blue eyes averted away from Bogum's stormy silver-gray ones.

"Ah, Yes o-of course!" Bogum stopped staring at Taehyung and rushed away to get a towel. He returned to the door, passing it to Taehyung who appreciatively accepted it. He wrapped it around himself and exited the bathroom.

Bogum observed the shaking boy. He's cold.

"You can borrow my clothes." Bogum said as he watched Taehyung stand in front of the bathroom door unsure what to do.

"Hyung, I can just wear my own clothes I don't want to be a burden.." Taehyung softly replied.

"No, I insist. Your clothes are disheveled and shredded, Don't want you going to sleep in that, ay? It would be so uncomfortable. Follow hyung."

After he had given Taehyung the clothing (Taehyung thanking him--jeez, he sure does thank people a lot for every little thing) and he had gotten quickly dressed, he urged Taehyung to stay the night.

"No, I musn't, my parent must be so worried.." Taehyung replied silently. But Bogum knew better than to let him off in the middle of the night again.

"It's fine. I'll contact them and tell them you are all right." Taehyung bit his lip.

"Okay, thank you."

"Stop saying thank you so much, It's fine." Bogum laughed, Causing Taehyung's ears to turn pink.

And there on forward, a beautiful friendship bloomed.

Chapter Text

And how do you suppose that we train if we don't even comprehend how to summon our power?" Namjoon sought, his somber gray orbs slightly hidden behind drooping eyelids. He ran a hand through his untidy bed hair. "Well.." Yoongi began, slurring his words. "frankly, I'm not so sure yet, but this book might be qualified to help us." Yoongi tightened his hold on the leather book, forcing himself to rise somewhat steadily on his two feet before strolling to the sofa and sitting down cautiously on the soft fabric. He stroked the cover of the book as he eyed the bold text, before opening it.

His fingers danced across the thin, old paper as he skimmed through every page swiftly in search for explanations. The rest of them watched in silence--The only noise you could hear was the frequent flipping of pages, and finally, an exasperated groan. "I can't find nuthin!" Yoongi slammed the book onto the table, suddenly startling everyone. He huffed, before holding his head in his hands and massaging his temples. "It's no use, this book is absolutely useless to us right now." They all exchanged glances.

"Are you sure?" Jimin hesitated to say. "At the end of the book, there's just a bunch of blank pages. Everything else is just spells and what not." Yoongi responded after he calmed down. "Let me see," Jeongguk suggested and before Yoongi could so much as open his mouth, took it and held it in his own hands. The moment it made contact with his hands, Jeongguk dropped it, seething in pain. My hands... he realized they were covered in burns, something imprinted with gold on his wrists. He blinked twice, before squinting at the hot liquid. On his wrists, the word "periculum" stood in all its glory. He turned back to the book, also glowing gold. He ground his teeth together nervously in fear he's done something wrong. The rest of them watched, their mouths agape in shock with Jeongguk's encounter with the book. The book shook slightly on the floor, causing a few items on the table to fall onto the floor and shatter into millions of pieces. Jeongguk looked up at Yoongi in alarm, Who looked just as lost as he did. "What the actual hell?" Yoongi sputtered as the book eventually calmed down, floating into the air and into his palm.

Jeongguk stood still and rigid with shock, the feeling of burning gold still embedded in his skin. Yoongi hesitantly picked the book up. The first thing that caught his eye when he opened the book was the new writing on the front.

"You must promise that you will forever keep ownership of this book until the day you die no matter what. You will handle it maturely and it will be a part of you as you are a part of it. You will always have it with you. You shall not take custody of this book if you do not think you can handle it. If you can not handle it, turn back now before you make a mistake and die." Yoongi read aloud, his eyes dulling at those last words. "I've already gone through this shit." "Sign your signature with your own blood to seal the deal." Yoongi sighed. "God, this book is really beating the shit out of my nerves. Haven't I lost enough blood already?" He grabbed a piece of glass from the floor and held it to his finger, jabbing it so that ivory began to pour out. He hissed before pressing his finger against the page, slowly writing his name on the paper.

His finger dragged against the rough paper, but it wasn't anything he couldn't handle. After all, he did get stabbed with a sword in the arm. Compared to that, this was nothing. The second he was finished, the injury suddenly disappeared as if it wasn't there in the first place. On its own will, the book flipped through the last pages, revealing writing that wasn't there before. It was gleaming the same color that the word on Jeongguk's wrist was.

He turned to Jeongguk's wrist.

"What the hell is wrong with your wrist?" He breathed out as he stared at the lustrous gold writing.

"I-I don't know..."

"Let me see," Hoseok uttered after his reticence.

He took Jeongguk's hand in his own, lifting it up to his face carefully as to not hurt Jeongguk.

"Periculum," Hoseok repeated.

"What?..." Jeongguk emitted silently.

"I know what that means. It means "Danger" in Latin. I don't know why they would embroid that into your skin though--Does it come off?" Taehyung asked gently, but Jeongguk didn't reply to his question.

"Danger?"

They exchanged glimpses.

"It probably isn't too important, Don't worry Jeonggukie," Hoseok said, trying to lighten the mood. They could nearly feel his sorrow.

He let go of Jeongguk's hand only for Taehyung to take it in his own. Jeongguk looked up, staring into the fascinating mystery that was his lover's eyes. Taehyung stared back at him with reassurance.

"We're all struggling here, but we'll continue to do so as long as we can get through it." Taehyung smiled softly.

Jeongguk nodded. "You're right." Looking back at his wrist, he softly stroked the word.

It didn't come off.

"Excuse me," He pardoned himself, pacing himself to the bathroom.

He scrubbed his wrist with soap in hot water, his eyes watering slightly at the sting, but didn't stop to do so. After a minute or so of scrubbing, he took it out of the water.

Nothing had changed.

The word written in striking gold was still on his wrist. He tapped it. The word was solid, not even skin anymore.

And that's when he finally began to freak out.

"What the--Why? Why is this here? I need an explanation, Is this something bad for the hyungs? No, I can't hurt them... I--"

"Jeongguk?" He heard them shout for him.

"I'm fine!" He shouted back in response, glancing at "Periculum" once more before running out.

"I read over the back of the book where the blank pages once were. Apparently, Now we do have the information we required. I would doubt it, but right now we're too desperate to waste our time on anything else." Yoongi said while rubbing his forehead. "You guys might as well hear it too."

Yoongi looked down at the page.

"If you are a shifter, step up."

Jimin and Namjoon shuffled up.

"Shifters have the power to shift as any animal they wish. Blah blah blah Tae already explained this, Ahh.." Yoongi trailed off.

"Ah, yes. In order to summon your power, you must think of the animal you want to shift into. You must concentrate and focus on your image of that animal only. If you feel another presence that is not familiar, do not worry--That is your aura. Let your aura take you over. You will gradually evolve into the animal you desire." Yoongi finished with a

click of his tongue.

"They make it sound so easy..." Jimin sighed, his eyes slanting slightly in distress.

"Worth a try." Namjoon shrugged before yawning tiredly. "If it's for a good cause..."

"Please don't do it in here though. I don't think anyone wants to hear the cracking of bones." Yoongi spoke up again. Jimin and Namjoon turned to each other.

"It's probably for the best anyway, we might distract you," Seokjin suggested.

They decided not to stretch it on further because they were tired as hell and wanted to get it over with. They padded into some random rooms away from the rest of the group.

"Summoners, step up," Yoongi announced to the people remaining.

Hoseok was the only one who scurried forward, his thick eyebrows scrunched.

"Summoning your spirit animal requires for your acceptance. You must accept it as you, and it will accept you as it. You two share half a soul. Half of the soul belongs to it. The other half belongs to you. To bring it out for the first time, you must mix at least three of your favorite things together... Ew, what the actual hell that's gross." Yoongi groaned, his nose scrunched in revulsion. He continued, "And leave it out. The scent will attract it, and it will extract itself from your body. The spirit animal is made of your aura. The

color will vary from your aura's color." He finished.

"What do I do when I summon it?" Hoseok asked, chewing on the inside of his cheek.

Yoongi shrugged. "Doesn't say. We'll figure it out--What ingredients do you need?"

Hoseok shivered. "Ugh, this is weird..." His lips pressed against each other.

"Well, I like seaweed soup, it's really good. I also like the color green and dancing." Yoongi blinked twice.

"How are we going to mix dancing and the color green--You know what, we'll find a way." He nodded to Hoseok.

"Healers, step up."

Seokjin gracefully walked closet to Yoongi to listen to the instructions carefully.

"Being a healer takes a lot of serious hard work and practice. Not only do you use your powers, but you need to use the gifts you were given when you are born; your knowledge and your hands. You may not always have enough aura to perform the healing technique you may want to, so you must not only rely on that power but on yourself too. You must react fast, so you will rain to raise your stealth and your ability to move comfortably and very flexible." Seokjin nodded confidently with a smile on his lips.

"I can do that."

"Good, because I can't handle having another person on my list to help," Yoongi whined, receiving two snickers from Jeongguk and Taehyung.

Once everyone was gone, Yoongi turned to Jeongguk and Tae.

"Jeongguk will be trained to use multiple weapons since we don't have too much information on him. Taehyung, You can sharpen on skills too if you want since you haven't been using them recently." Taehyung and Jeongguk nodded at the same time, their eyes suddenly turning from playful to serious.

"After we're done with all the hard work and effort, we'll go to Enhancia. I already know what I need to do."

Chapter Text

In the middle of a room, far from the other members sat a figure, hidden in the eerie twilight--It was Namjoon.

Soft gusts of cold wind blew through his locks, humming a song that was unknown to him. It was silent, the sound of his calm breathing the only noise besides the wind, which accompanied him on his task. Namjoon pressed his fingers against his lips, letting a soft huff escape his nostrils as he focused all his thoughts on the animal he wanted to transform into.

A wolf.

It was a classic idea, he thought. It would be perhaps one of the most accessible animals to transform into since all shifters were able to convert into wolves. Hell, humans even made films about humans mutating into wolves without comprehending it was truly possible, which reasonably, was for the best.

His mind pushed away all the thoughts not focused on the wolf. He could feel a presence.

Namjoon could see the wolf's sharp teeth as it snapped its jaws at him, it's silver eyes glowing in the murkiness of the woods. It was running at an unbelievable speed, its sturdy legs thrusting dirt behind its trail.

He was interrupted by a loud CRASH! And THUD! Followed by a yell.

Namjoon opened one of his glowing silver irises, the gleam now fading away slowly as was his aura. He grunted in exasperation as the image of the wolf slowly disappeared from his train of thoughts, the hairs on his neck spiking up in clear frustration.

"Could you be a bit quieter? I'm trying to concentrate!" He heard Jimin bark from another room in the house. Namjoon wordlessly agreed with him.

"Sorry!" He heard Jeongguk hiss back, and it was back to being quiet.

He sniffed a few times before somber gray eyes shut once again as he let his mind drift back to the wolf.

The wolf let out a fierce howl. The chase was on.

It ran after it's prey, it's legs kicking even faster as it's evident muscles contrasted against his whole body, clenching and unclenching as he took a big leap, pouncing at the poor little prey, who squeaked in fear.  It's honey brown fur with blotches of gray bristled in the wind. Its sharp teeth could rip your entire arm off in a matter of seconds. The wolf growled, his ears falling to his head as he tore his teeth into the fresh kill. He perked up, loosening his jaw, letting the warm corpse of the rodent thud onto the ground. Victory.

Namjoon shivered slightly as his aura curled around him gently, slithering up his back and around his whole body. It was an unfamiliar feeling that he would have to get used to with time. He opened his eyes a bit, his sight meeting misty emerald green. It's green, He thought. What a coincidence, that was the color Bogum handed to me.

The thought vanished as soon as it appeared the instant he felt himself being elevated into the air. A cold sweat rolled down the side of his temple. What if something goes wrong, and he permanently breaks something? No, He was told that if he was sloppy or careless, he could possibly endanger his own well being. Fretting about it would make it worse, so he let his mind run blank.

He felt small prickling run through his body, then suddenly, it stopped. He couldn't feel anything.

He heard the cracking of bones and tried to stay calm as the noise continued. He could sense that he was changing, but couldn't feel the rearrangement of bones, nor the sharpening of his senses.

Subsequently, he was finished with his shift, gently landing onto the floor. He blinked, looking at his surroundings.

Did I shift?... He meant to say out loud, but all that came out of his mouth was a confused yip.

Oh. I did.

Three seconds before chaos erupted.

HELL YES, I TRANSFORMED, FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY, I SHIFTED YESYESYESYESYESYES!!!!

His wolf bounced about happily, yowling in satisfaction and delight. He ran around, knocking down everything in the room unable to control himself.

"Hey!" A voice shouted from outside the door.

He froze, his ears drooping against his head as he realized what a mess he made in the room. He plopped down, His ears drooping down as he whimpered slightly. It was Seokjin, and he was busted if his boyfriend saw the mess he made.

"Everything okay in there?"

Namjoon couldn't reply, instead, he yipped out a reply attempting to say, "I'm alright babe, thanks"

"I'm coming in!" Seokjin exclaimed.

No! Please don't come--

Seokjin opened the door, his eyes widening and mouth falling open.

In...

His eyes drifted to Namjoon's wolf form, then to the rest of the room.

"Wha..." He gasped out.

Namjoon padded over to him, licking his chops before nuzzling Seokjin's legs.

It's me, Namjoon!

Jin stared down at the wolf creature who was wagging its bushy tail.

"Namjoon?" he whispered. "How... You did it?"

The wolf--Namjoon, nodded his head.

Seokjin sighed. "Such a mess you've made."

I'm sorry.

Seokjin smiled, petting Namjoon's furry head. "It's alright."

He took time to really look at Namjoon. He looked quite scary, actually. A tall, broad wolf with glowing silver eyes and narrow, pointed pupils that added to the threatening look. Wet muzzle, Pointed ears, and a thick pelt of brown fur with gray blotches. The tissues and muscles of the wolf were thick and quite obvious. He looked like something you didn't want to mess with.

How are the other members doing?

Seokjin blinked.

"They're doing just fine. Yoongi left Taehyung and Kook along to do training together since he had something to do and Taehyung didn't have much to do other than sitting around, so he volunteered to show Jeongguk how to use some weapons."

Namjoon nodded.

I bet they're making out.

His wolf snorted.

"Joonie!" Seokjin scolded, but couldn't stop himself from smiling. "Jeez, you're such a dork."

Chapter Text

Jeongguk watched as Taehyung bit his lip, the plump flesh swelling under the abuse as he stared down into the jet-black and cold, menacing basement. He didn't blame him at all, He was feeling kind of uncertain about welcoming himself into the very same room Yoongi almost bled to death in, but he pushed those thoughts aside. He didn't need to petrify Taehyung even more.

Slowly, his gaze shifted to Taehyung's quivering hand pressed against his side. His eyes softened, and he brushed his own hand against his lover's.

"Don't worry, nothing will happen. Yoongi had already dealt with anything that could cause harm. Besides, we are doing this for a good cause, right?" he piped up softly, rubbing his thumb against Taehyung's knuckles. Taehyung's lips quirked up into a dubious smile, his nervous gaze meeting with Jeongguk's confident one as he shifted his weight to his other foot.

"Yeah," he answered hesitantly. "Nothing to worry about."

Jeongguk nodded. "I wouldn't let anything happen to you anyway," he teased before making his way to the first unsteady step. He looked back to Taehyung's unmoving figure, the only thing that reassured him that Taehyung was even still alive was the pink dusting his cheeks. "Well? Let's get going." Jeongguk jutted his head towards the bottom of the steps.

Taehyung dragged himself to where Jeongguk was standing, mumbling words to himself in discontent. He lifted his foot, and pressed it against the wobbly step. It creaked beneath both Jeonnguk and Taehyung's weight and Taehyung's eyes widened in alarm.

"I don't think this is a good idea..." Taehyung spoke, clearing his throat. As much as he hated to admit it, he wasn't exactly...Keen on the idea of spending time in that basement, to say the least. He took a glance at Jeongguk's blank face, then corrected "I mean going down the basement. If we so much as trip over the steps, we will fall to our death."

Jeongguk furrowed his brows. "Tae, worrying about it won't make you feel better. Just, don't think about anything bad that could happen and you'll be alright." Jeongguk reached for Taehyung's hand, his cold, rough fingers intertwining with Taehyung's own soft warm ones. Carefully, he stepped onto the next step, tugging Taehyung delicately as if he was porcelain, to follow him. Taehyung obliged and tightened his grip on Jeongguk's hand.

Finally, they made their way down the stairs, the occasional howl echoing across the room when they stepped on certain steps but they had made it to the bottom.

Taehyung sighed in content, glad that they had gotten that over with. The only problem was that they couldn't really see. The only light radiating into the room was the warm orange glow of the living room.

"Uh, Jeongguk?" Jeongguk hummed in acknowledgement. "How are we going to...see?"

"The light switch obviously," he replied, confusion laced in his voice.

"And where's that?"

Jeongguk let himself fall into silence. He tapped the hand that wasn't holding Taehyung's against his chin.

"It should have been by the door, but it wasn't. I guess Yoongi broke some stuff while he was in here. Let's use a flashlight instead," He finally answered as his eyes moved frantically for some type of clue.

Not waiting for Taehyung's reply he pulled out a flashlight from his pocket, pressing the button on the handle to switch it on. "Let's go," he whispered before walking away, motioning for Taehyung to follow with two fingers.

They wandered around, observing the webbed walls and dusty bookshelves and the way random gusts of cool air would numb the tips of their fingers.
The sounds of their steps bounced against each wall as the sound of dripping water played a tune somewhere.

“I'm starting the think this place doesn't have a light switch,” Taehyung whispered to Jeongguk. “We haven't found anything yet.”

Jeongguk sighed and shook his head. “You're right, let's go back and figure something out.” He turned around and then proceeded to walk the way he came from. Taehyung stood stiff, before realizing Jeongguk was walking away and jogged after him.

The moment Jeongguk could feel that they were close to the the way they came from, he bumped into a wall with so much force he bumped into Taehyung with a pained groan. His nose swelled up quickly, brown bruises slowly but surely covering his nose as he rubbed it.

"Crap, that hurt...." he hissed. "I don't even remember that wall being there."

Taehyung rubbed Jeongguk's shoulder. "Don't worry, it was probably just an accident. You can't possibly remember the way back after wandering around for so long, right? I'm sure if we wander some more, we will find our way back."

Jeongguk shook his head. "No, but I remember. It was this way, the dusty book shelf is right where it was when we entered," Jeongguk insisted. Taehyung followed Jeongguk's gaze.

"You're right..." he murmured.

"But it could easily be any other bookshelf," Taehyung said, shaking his head.

Jeongguk lifted an eyebrow, wanting to go against what Taehyung had said but instead chose to give in.

"Right...." he trailed off.

"So then, what now?" he asked after silence had made itself at home.

Taehyung shrugged.

"Wait," he exclaimed "Maybe Bogum can help!"

Jeongguk watched as Taehyung pulled out the crystal shard that Bogum had given him. It glowed faintly in his hand and against his face, complimenting his skin and overall attractiveness.

Damn it Jeongguk, Now is not the time to admire Taehyung when you are basically trapped in a basement! Jeongguk mentally scolded himself.

When Jeongguk finally returned his state of mind to the current dimension, he noticed that the wind started picking up and the shard that he had kept in his back pocket had dragged itself out.

He watched with astonishment as the two crystal shards tapped, causing a giant outburst of light as Bogum made his presence in the room.

Both he and Taehyung groaned, rubbing their eyes in attempt to get used to the light that they hadn't seen since they entered the stupid basement.

"What do you need help with?" Bogum's smooth voice rang in their ears until they comprehended what he had said.

"Ahh yes, thank you for coming Bogummie!" Taehyung said with a grin.

Jeongguk pouted slightly and whispered to Taehyung, "Was that dramatic enterance really necessary?"

Taehyung slapped his shoulder. "Gukkie be kind!" he hissed silently before averting his attention back to Bogum.

He watched the both of them speak, Looking up whenever his name was mentioned but was never brought into the conversation. He glanced at Bogum only to see him already looking at him, smirking.

Wait, smirking?

He blinked, and realized that what he was seeing wasn't just him being delusional.

Why was he smirking? He didn't know but he didn't like the look on Bogum's face.

"Alright, Thank you!" Taehyung said, bowing his head before turning to Jeongguk.

"Bogummie has offered to help with your training as well! Isn't that great?"

Jeongguk inwardly protested against it but forced a strained smile onto his face.

He didn't have a good feeling about this.

Chapter Text

“That’s perfect baby,” Jeongguk let the nickname slide as he trotted over to Taehyung, wrapping his arm around said boy and looking at Bogum with a challenging glint in his eyes. “I’m sure Bogum will train me well.” he watched with a smirk as Bogum clenched his jaw. Taehyung, who was completely oblivious to the feud between the both of them bounced happily. “Great! Let’s get started now!”

Okay, well Jeongguk has to admit-he was hella nervous about training with a weapon, especially against Bogum. Who knew what the guy could do to him? He had no idea where his sudden petty attitude came from when he wrapped his arm around Taehyung and let the small pet name slip through his lip but he didn’t care because Taehyung was his, not Bogum’s. He just couldn’t help but feel uneasy, but quickly hid it all behind a mask of confidence. There was no time to be weak.

“Alright.” Bogum grunts, grabbing two small daggers from the bag he kept hook to his side all of the time. Jeongguk eyed them as his nose wrinkled.

“Pardon me, but you expect me to kill a whole army of dangerous beasts with a small dagger?” Jeongguk spoke up with a slight attitude despite the formal build of the sentence. Bogum glanced at him with his lip curled in an aggravated snarl, but for Taehyung’s sake changed it into a fake smile.

“Oh, silly Jeongguk,” Bogum started off shaking his head and chuckling, his tone of voice so fake but going unnoticed by Taehyung who watched. “Watch and learn.” Now that Jeongguk actually took a look, The dagger looked quite advanced. It was sharp and had a special handle for steady grip, and it shone the color of Bogum’s aura--the color was the royal color of purple, and it floated around the dagger as if guarding the small weapon. He was confused. Why was Taehyung’s color a beautiful gold, but Bogum was the King’s royal messenger and his was purple? He would ask Taehyung later. Setting his attention to the weapon and what Bogum was doing, he watched as buttons were pressed and the dagger suddenly shot up into a long and very detailed sword. The sword was full of swirls, built with the most durable materials you could get your hands on and adorned with beautiful crystals and gems. Jeongguk’s mouth opened on amazement, but quickly shut it off when he saw Bogum’s smug smirk.

“You see, this isn’t only a dagger little boy,” Bogum spoke up smoothly and oh, How Jeongguk just despised that voice now. “It can turn into all sorts of weaponry, any you can think of. You just need to press the correct order of buttons.”

Jeongguk stared silently as Bogum dragged his nimble fingers across the sword and stop when he got to the buttons. he pressed on them quickly, another combination for another weapon. When Jeongguk blinked, it had already transformed into a bow. He turned to Taehyung and saw his eyes brightened in pure admiration and astonishment. He rolled his eyes to himself. That Bogum guy was just showing off now.

“This bow is quite powerful, like the other weapons, but is very heavy. Do not underestimate their power and weight. These weapons are only to be used by those deemed...Mature enough. Think you could do it, little boy?” Bogum spoke slowly, his blank, taunting eyes digging holes into Jeongguk’s skin. His teeth grit at the nickname, but regardless, he nods.

“Of course I am, we don’t have time to spare.”

“Good,” Bogum spoke, lifting his eyebrows with a pleased smile plastered on his face. “Taehyung, do you wish to participate?”

Before Taehyung could answer, Jeongguk shook his head.

“No. We don’t need him getting hurt, this is for me to fight, not him.” he slid his hand down to Taehyung’s lower back and rubbed circles comfortingly.

Taehyung’s eyebrows furrowed. “But, Gukkie, I-”

“No Taehyung, I think you are capable enough to protect yourself even now,” Jeongguk spoke softly.

“Don’t you think I could at least sharpen up my skills? I’m not so sure about my abilities, you know?” Taehyung sighed, shaking his head at the worried Jeongguk.

“I…” Jeongguk hesitated.

Bogum spoke up, “He’s right. Perhaps he wouldn’t need to undergo the intense training you will, but he might still need some. Taehyung, if you do not mind, you could ask Yoongi for some help? I’m sure he can think of something.”

The gears in Jeongguk’s brain stuttered. Wait, why was Bogum sending Taehyung out of the room, and since when did he think that he could boss HIS lover around?

“Excuse me, but last time I checked you didn’t make Taehyung’s decisions for him,” Jeongguk said through clenched teeth.

Bogum only smirked.

“And neither do you,” he replied in retaliation.

Jeongguk could feel the anger seeping out of himself. He opened his mouth to say something, but Taehyung cut them off.

“Alright, alright! That’s enough you two, I will make my own decisions thank you very much.” Taehyung groaned in frustration. Bogum and Jeongguk both looked down in shame. Taehyung couldn’t help but giggle at the fact that they looked like small children that had stolen from a cookie jar.

“I could use some help from Yoongi, but I’ll be back so no worries! Bogummie, can you teleport me to Yoongi right now?” Jeongguk didn’t like the sound of that nickname coming out of HIS Taehyung, but said nothing.

“Of course,” Bogum bowed, causing Taehyung to giggle. He let his eyes trail to Jeongguk before teleporting Taehyung away, his body breaking into small shards of his aura before the strips of aura flew up into the air and disappeared completely. Jeongguk watched jungshook af as Taehyung left as if he was never there in the first place.

Bogum and Jeongguk stood awkwardly in the center of the space as the last of Taehyung’s presence seeped out of the room. It wasn’t the comfortable silence that he would occasionally have with Taehyung, it was uncomfortable and unsettling.

“So, what did you want from me?” Jeongguk grumbled childishly with a pout evident in his voice.

Bogum shrugged. “I think we got off the wrong foot. I’d like to start anew. So, hello, my name is Park Bogum and what is yours?” Jeongguk watched as Bogum stretched his arm out to him. Jeongguk’s eyebrow twitched and he sighed.

“The name is Jeongguk. Jeon Jeongguk, and it’s nice to meet you.” He meets Bogum’s hand in a short but firm handshake. They both nodded to show that they were both acknowledged.

For some reason, Jeongguk felt incredibly suspicious of this whole thing. Something was gnawing at him to not trust Bogum although he seemed like a completely innocent guy that his petty and jealous self viewed as a threat to his and Taehyung’s relationship, if you could call it that. Maybe Jeongguk was just overthinking.

But that feeling, that warning in his heart never left. His heart felt heavy and a cold sweat rolled down the side of his temple. Did Bogum really deserve his trust? Especially after what had happened…

“So, shall we get started?” Bogum asked, his observant eyes noticing Jeongguk’s hesitation.

Jeongguk swallowed the lump in his throat and nodded. “Yes,”

Jeongguk nervously eyed the dagger that Bogum cautiously held in his hands. From up close, you could see every little detail from the three different buttons representing the Sun, Moon, and Earth to the polished gems embedded into the eye-catching weapon. The tip was so sharp, that even the smallest and gentlest of pokes could cause much harm and injury. It could break skin so easily and effortlessly by the looks of it, which meant Jeongguk would have to be very, very careful.

Bogum slowly handed it over to Jeongguk.

“This now belongs to you. The color of your aura will forever dominate it and nobody can change that.” Bogum cleared up when he saw the confused face of Jeongguk’s. Jeongguk’s aura misted around the weapon, the fierce red making the weapon look even scarier than it had before.

He was surprised to somewhat have an aura if he were to be honest, even though he was told that he wasn’t completely human. Bogum didn’t say anything about it.

“Now, time to explain the downsides of this weapon…” Bogum trailed off.

Wait, downsides?

There were downsides?

Could it get any worse?

Chapter Text

“Downsides?” Jeongguk inquires, tilting his head at the man in question. Of course, he wasn’t an idiot. It’s a weapon, there are plenty of downsides, but with something that Bogum easily slashed around with no effort and with something that was so advanced, he was positive that nothing unpleasant came with the package, but he supposed he was incorrect…

“Yes,” Bogum breathed stressfully. “This weapon is no toy. You could easily end your own life with it, which is why it requires laborious training. There is no time for fooling around.”

Jeongguk eyed the weapon he had in his grasp. So, this could cost him his life? Hmm..

He carefully stroked the dagger with his calloused hands, his fingers dancing smoothly against the cold material of the weapon. He felt every curve, dip and bump. He could feel the hardness of the gems, beautifully complementing the dagger and color of his bold aura, which still kept possession of the weapon. Eventually, he got to the tip of the freshly sharpened weapon. He stared at it cautiously, and he knew he shouldn’t touch it but he was getting curious…

Slowly, his finger dragged itself to the tip and although Jeongguk wanted to prevent himself from touching such a dangerous weapon beyond Bogum’s demand, he pushed that thought to the back of his head.

He could hear Bogum’s voice, the confused and questioning tone landing on deaf ears. Unable to constraint himself, Jeongguk pressed the tip of his finger against the dagger, and hell did it hurt. He could feel the tissue of his finger break under the light pressure, the scarlet color of blood leaking out in a thin waterfall down his finger and to the rest of his hand. Curiosity is a bitch, Jeongguk thought to himself as he groaned out in pain. the blood leaked onto the dagger, but when he looked down at it, he noticed the blood hadn’t stained it.

No, his aura was absorbing it from the dagger as if it wasn’t there in the first place. It absorbed all the blood that touched it in a matter of seconds, and his injury suddenly disappeared as if it wasn’t gushing blood in the first place. Jeongguk stared at his hand astonished, then to his wrist. He pulled the sleeve of his sweatshirt up his arm and he had almost forgotten about that stupid word embroidered into his wrist. Now, it glowed a crimson color, streaks of red slowly travelling up his arm.

“Periculum”

Jeongguk let out a shallow breath as he stared at his arm in horror. He looked up at Bogum with wide eyes, and seeked for some sort of emotion that would give him a hint. Surely, Bogum should know this-If he remembered correctly, he was the King’s messenger.

But Bogum’s face was devoid of any emotion. He stared at Jeongguk’s wrist and the red traveling up his arm and Jeongguk wasn’t quite sure that Bogum was even breathing. If he were to be honest though, he was having trouble breathing too.

“What’s happening?” Jeongguk gasps with a stuttered breath. To say he was terrified was an understatement- hell, he just watched his aura wolf down the blood that touched the dagger and the blood that had been dripping from his finger. He was also starting to feel weird…

“I’m… Not quite sure,” Bogum hesitated to say, and Jeongguk couldn’t tell if he was lying or telling the truth “But I do know for a fact that it isn’t normal.”

No shit sherlock. Jeongguk thought to himself.

Bogum slowly made his way over as if Jeongguk was going to harm him. The moment he stepped right in front of Jeongguk, The red aura blasted towards him, sending him crashing into the wall.

He let out a pained grunt as his back collided with the cold stone wall as it cracked due to the very strong blow. Bogum slid down the broken wall and hissed.

“What the fuck!” Jeongguk screeched as his aura rushed its way to Bogum at a fast speed.

“Periculum” flashed red and gold at a horribly fast speed, and Jeongguk stared at his wrist in horror.

Stop!” he screamed, the sound unfamiliar and inhumane to his ears. The aura stopped in its track, and returned to it’s previous place. He could hear Jimin bark a complaint, and he yelled out a quick “sorry!” before things silenced.

And that’s when Taehyung arrived.

“What’s going on, what happened?” Taehyung asked as the golden shards of his aura press together to form his body. He was frowning while staring at Bogum’s limp figure and Jeongguk’s terrified face.

“I…” Jeongguk whispered.

“Periculum,” was what Bogum whispered as he glanced at Taehyung, his face scrunched in pain. Taehyung’s eyes widened as he remembered-

“The word embroidered into Jeongguk’s wrist? What about it?”

“Danger.” Bogum shook his head, as he was thrown into a fit of coughs, hacking at the scratchy feeling.

“Danger,” he repeated. “Something isn’t right with Jeongguk.”

Taehyung and Jeongguk watched as Bogum shakily lifted himself up, his wings quivering at the overwhelming amount of pain, and they stared at the pile of white feathers where bogum had collided with the wall. Bogum’s wings were bent awkwardly, in many different positions.

“What do you mean?” Taehyung asked as he tilted his head in confusion. He stroked the back of Jeongguk’s tense neck, hoping that he provided some comfort.

“Nothing,” Bogum shook his head. “We shall continue this tomorrow. Jeongguk, you can keep the dagger.”

“No, It’s okay, we can train now-” Jeongguk persisted.

“No, Bogum’s right. Don’t you have class tomorrow? You should sleep. I’ll sleep too. Bogum doesn’t seem to be doing well neither.” Taehyung said, nodding his head.

Jeongguk stared at the floor and nodded back. “Yeah, alright. Are the hyungs finished?”

Taehyung shrugged. “Not sure, but I am sure that they are doing just fine. Bogum, you may return. Do you need any help?”

Bogum bowed. “I’m fine, thank you. I’ll just heal myself. I’ll leave as you wish,” and he disappeared into thin air, small sparks of purple indicating his exit.

Suffocating silence seeped its way into the space between Jeongguk and Taehyung after Bogum left. Taehyung took the time to look at the cracked wall, and the aura around Jeongguk’s dagger.

“Let’s get going, we’ll talk about this later.” Taehyung said sternly. Jeongguk flinched at Taehyung lack of words and tone of voice. He fucked up, didn’t he?

“Taehyung, I…” Jeongguk whimpered pitifully like a kicked dog. The thought of Taehyung being angry at him made him feel empty.

Taehyung saw this and his expression immediately softened. “Oh, Jeonggukkie…” he sighed softly, nuzzling his nose into Jeongguk’s neck. “I know you didn’t mean harm. Let’s worry about it tomorrow, yeah? We’ll tell Yoongi hyung and everything too, alright?”

Jeongguk pressed his chin against Taehyung’s head, taking in the comforting scent of strawberries dipped in honey. “Okay,” he mumbled.

“Now, let’s get out of here, ay? I learned to teleport through with Yoongi’s help!” Taehyung says proudly and Jeongguk sends him a fond look before Taehyung snaps his fingers and teleported them away, the color of red and gold dancing together gorgeously in the darkness of the room as the last bits of them left the room.

Meanwhile, Bogum limped to the special room that was given to him inside the palace, on the verge of passing out. Black lined his vision, and unconsciousness blurred at the edges on his eyes. He threw himself onto the bed, and before he passed out and entered the world of bliss, he whispered, “Danger,”

“That boy needs to be disposed of.”

and his world turned black.

Chapter Text

Hoseok sighed as he, Yoongi and Seokjin took their place in the kitchen. They mutually agreed to help Hoseok first since his seemed the most difficult and honestly, he couldn't be any more grateful because he wasn't sure that he would be able to summon his spirit animal by himself.

"So, let's start with the seaweed soup..." Seokjin mumbled. "Actually, while I cook, can you two find a way to combine the other two ingredients?"

Hoseok and Yoongi exchanged glances.

"Hyung," Hoseok started respectfully, "How are we going to do that? How can we possibly combine dancing and the color green? It's like what Yoongi said, is it even possible?"

"If our ancestors could do it, so could we. You'll find a way," Seokjin dismissed them with a wave of his hand. "and you're wasting time by standing around, shoo shoo!"

Yoongi grumbled childishly, his nose scrunched in distaste. Hoseok glanced at him with guilt in his eyes. Did he really upset Yoongi that much? Did he burden him just for asking for help?

Yoongi met his gaze and his expression softened, almost like he could read his mind. "No, Hobi, it has nothing to do with you. I'm just really stressed and worried. Now, let's get going." He says, grabbing Hoseok's arm and dragging him away.

"So what's the plan?" Hoseok asked in a whisper as they tip-toed through the quiet and dark halls.

"I'm not sure," Yoongi sighs as he rubs his temples with his index fingers, "but we'll think of something." Hoseok nodded.

They wandered around the house, ocassionally entering and exploring a room in hopes they would find something useful. So far, they weren't getting anywhere and it really bothered Yoongi. He hated feeling useless, he hated not being able to do things for the people he loves most, he hated it almost as much as he hated the fact that he just can't accept some things just can't be done if he was going to be hot headed all the time.

"Yahhh, we ain't gonna find nothin! We've gotten nowhere and haven't found shit!" Hoseok was surprised by his sudden outburst but he understood that Yoongi was just losing patience, as it was running thin.

"We'll find a way. Remember what Seokjin hyung said? If our ancestors could do it, we could too. What do you think they would think of us right now if they saw that we couldn't meet up to their expectations? We are the only ones alive of our kind so we were born with this weight on our shoulders, but we'll have to balance it out like they did. We won't ever live a normal life and we will probably go through many more struggles like this but as long as we work together we'll get through it. So turn that frown upside down if you don't want any more wrinkles than you already have, grandpa!" Hoseok laughed, poking Yoongi's cheek. Yoongi couldn't stop his lip from quirking up.

"Yes, you're right- and respect me, I'm your hyung!" Yoongi scolds the other playfully. Hoseok smirked slightly and it went back to silence.

As they trotted around, Hoseok began to hum a tune.

"P-peek a peek a boo," he sang quietly while making small gestures. Yoongi rolled his eyes and chuckled at the childish behavior before it dawned on him.

"Wait, Hobi you just gave me an idea!" Yoongi gasps, turning to Hoseok who gave him a confused look.

"Eh? How? What's the idea?"

Yoongi snapped his fingers. "You dance to music, right? So maybe, if we pick out one of the many albums you have left here from your visits it can work?"

Hoseok's face heats up in slight embrassment before he chuckled, "I guess my forgetfulness was actually useful this time! I'll collect them after this, by the way."

Yoongi sucked in a breathe. "Okay, there is one problem though... You have to pick the album you love the most, and once its in the pot with the seaweed soup and color green, it's not coming back."

Hoseok shrugged. "Taetae is more important than an album and I can just buy another one. I'd poor all my albums into lava and watch them burn if it would make Tae happy," he giggled.

Yoongi smiled.

"Alright then, let's go- You left them in the living room, so I put them with my other cds."

Hoseok nodded and obediently followed Yoongi into the living room that was earlier filled with seven lost men but now only two. He watched as Yoongi padded over the side of the televesion.

Yoongi let out a small grunt as he bent down, opening a small cabinet filled with movies and albums. "Come here," he beckoned Hoseok with his finger. He heard some shuffling and suddenly Hoseok was bent next to him. He rummaged around for a bit before pulling out multiple albums, tapping Hoseok's arm to get his attention.

"Look through them and pick out the one you like most," Yoongi says while nodding, glad that now they were getting somewhere.

Hoseok hummed in deep thought as he eyed each album carefully.

"I'll sacrifice... This one!" he exclaims, while picking up a blackpink album.

Yoongi lifted up his eyebrows.

"THAT'S your favorite out of all the ones you have there?" Yoongi gestures to the many other albums.

Hoseok snorted. "Hey, who are you to judge, mr. Min Suga Genius Jjang Jjang Man Bong bong?" Hoseok teases, referring to the time Yoongi had recorded a mixtape while drunk.

Yoongi clicked his tongue as red crawled up his neck. "Whatever, let's get on with it!" he whines, abruptly standing up and walking away with Hoseok hot on his feet.

"And never mention that again, I was drunk alright?"

Hoseok and Yoongi stumble into the kitchen where Seokjin was resting against the counter, texting on his phone. The smell of Seaweed soup lured them closer as they peeked at the dish that was freshly cooked.

"You know, I'm actually quite jealous of my spirit animal right now," Hoseok joked, grabbing Seokjin's attention.

Seokjin smiled before saying "Oh, you're back. So, did you guys find the other two ingredients?"

When he got no reply, he rolled his eyes.

"YAHH! STOP DROOLING OVER MY FOOD AND ANSWER ME!" He raised his voice slightly higher. Hoseok and Yoongi jump, snapping their heads away from the soup and to Seokjin who was tapping his foot against the tiled floor of the kitchen. "Well?"

"Uhm," Hoseok says as he sheepishly scratches his cheek. "About that... We only found an album for dance, not the color green..."

Seokjin sighs. "Whatever, it's fine. You're lucky that seaweed soup so happens to be green and that I found food coloring in Yoongi's kitchen cabinet."

Now it was Hoseok's turn to lift his eyebrows.

"Wait, why do you have food coloring?" he questions curiously, his gaze flickering to Yoongi's blank face.

"Jimin wanted to do an experiment and wanted to make meals with different colors for the day. Who was I to say no?"

Seokjin shakes his head. "You're so whipped for that sweet little boy, just tell him you like him already!"

Yoongi groans and throws his head back. "Hyung, stoooooop,"

Seokjin winks. "Whatever you saaaaaayyy~"

Hoseok watches the two with sadness in his eyes. Oddly enough, he didn't even know why but his heart hurt at the mention of Yoongi and Jimin being together as a happy couple. He pushed away that thought to the back of his head and put on a strained smile.

"Let's get to business, yeah? Yoongi's already been teased enough today," He says trying to lighten up his mood and cover the   odd feeling in his heart.

Seokjin and Yoongi both nodded in agreement. The sooner they got this over with, the better.

"Seokjin, go grab a pot so we can mix everything together," Yoongi orders while taking out the cds from the album. Seokjin nods and walks to the cabinets, pulling out a pot and trotting back.

"Good, thank you. Hoseok, get something to stir with," He orders Hoseok, who sends him a thumbs up and shifts through the drawers, pulling out a big spoon and passing it to Yoongi who catches it without looking.

Yoongi opens his book, licking his thumb as he flipped through the old pages with ancient writing. Hoseok watched, imersed in the way Yoongi's eyebrows would scrunch and how his eyes would brighten when he found something useful.

"Ah!" he spoke up, slightly startling Hoseok. "Found it."

"Alright, so we need to take the food first and slowly pour it into the pot. Jin hyung, can you do that for me?" Seokjin wordlessly picks the soup up, turning it over slowly as the contents gathered together in the pot.

"Thank you, now we need to take the bigger item and throw it inside. Hoseok, grab the cds and put them inside." He orders Hoseok who obeys without any complaint. "Good. Now the food coloring," Yoongi drops his book and puts his hand out. Hoseok passes him the food coloring, pressing it into Yoongi's palm before moving his hand away. "Thanks."

Yoongi carefully pinched the small tube of green food coloring as one drop, two drops, three drops, four drops, then five plop into the odd mixture. He pulls the food coloring away and stirs it all together, watching in slight disgust as the CDs broke into small chunks and the green food coloring blended in with the seaweed soup. Hoseok and Seokjin lean towards him and watched him mix the three items together until Yoongi stopped and pulled the spoon out.

"Alright, we should leave Hoseok to this and work on our training now that he has all he needs. If you need anything, we'll be down the hall and to the left," Yoongi nodded to Hoseok.

"Please be careful," Seokjin said with worry evident on his face before the two walked out and he was left alone.

He took in a deep breath then let it out as he picked up the pot and placed it in front of him. He sat down and closed his eyes to enter a calm state of mind.

Wait, that WAS what Yoongi hyung told me to do, right?

It was then that Hoseok realized that he actually had no idea how to lure his spirit animal out. Yoongi did tell him the smell would attract it but he never specified what Hoseok had to do and he really didn't want to bother Yoongi since he was probably busy right now...

Whatever, It's worth a shot. If it does not work, I'll go to Yoongi.

He really didn't want to be a burden.

He sighed for the umpteenth time that day, and closed his eyes again.

He let his mind drift to the color of his aura.

Hmmm, It's orange like flaming fire. Fire that is feared by everyone but is very misunderstood. Fire that is filled with fury and might, but also protects others. Fire that your mother told you not to touch but you were too curious and couldn't help but slowly move your hand towards it...

It was at that time that Hoseok felt a presence behind him. A big presence. He didn't dare open his eyes.

Fire that only grows when you try to stop it, Fire that burns anyone in it's way. The fire that burnt your hand when you got too close.

The animal let out a loud, piercing screech that had Hoseok's ears ringing. When he opened his eyes, he realized that he was the only one being affected by this. How?...

The animal let out another shrilled cry and Hoseok covered his ears out of reflex.

They always tell you not to play with fire.

You should have listened.

Hoseok turned around and was met with a sight that had his jaw dropping to the floor and his eyes widening in shock.

There, right before his eyes was a Phoenix made of his aura, mists of the orange hue surronding it as it met Hoseok's gaze.

He froze as it slowly made it's way to him. It's deep, forest green eyes pierced into his very soul as it stopped several inches away and bowed it's head.

Master, I am at your service.

Hoseok watched in astonishment as the Phoenix lifted it's head to once again meet gazes with Hoseok.

It shook it's feathers and walked towards the aroma, eating the mixture from the pot.

"Holy..." Hoseok gasped as he watched the Phoenix gulp down it's food. He didn't actually think this would work, but here this giant bird was-maybe thrice his size, standing proudly after it finished the last of it's meal. The voice spoke to him again,

For your gratitude, I now gift to you this necklace. Please keep this with you all time for it is precious and valuable. You can summon me anytime with it.

Hoseok stretched his arms out in front of him as a gold chained necklace with an amber charm was gently dropped into his hands.

Take good care of it.

"Wait, what's your na--" before Hoseok could ask the question, The Phoenix bowed its head and jumped into the amber charm, startling Hoseok who looked away.

"Name..." he trailed off.

"Well, that was easier than I thought. Time to tell Yoongi."

Burn it all.

Chapter Text

Worry.

The first emotion Yoongi felt when he shut the door of his bedroom was worry. He was worried for many things--worried for the young couple who were just a douple floors below him right now, worried for his own being, worried that nothing will go as planned, worried about everyone's well being...

Especially Jimin's.

He didn't like how this odd feeling settled in his stomach whenever he saw Jimin. He didn't like feeling, but Jimin was making him feel.

Was he perhaps... In love?

His thin, pale finger trailed circles along the wrinkled paper of his spell book as he was lost in thought. Sure, he would admit to maaaaybeee having a small crush on Jimin, but the timing to fall in love just isn't right.

He's scared. No, terrified.

Terrified of losing someone again.

Hell, he didn't even know if Jimin liked him back.

He doesn't want the past to repeat itself, gnaw at his flesh like it had done once before, make sure that he never forgot what he had done once he had finally moved on to someone new. He didn't want that face smiling in satisfaction, taunting him and whispering in his ear that "I was right all along."

He could remember that day so clearly as if it had happened just yesterday.

"Yoongi, I'm tired of this!" Minjae yelled, pushing Yoongi's arm away from his shoulders, backing away as far as he could with tears welling up in his eyes.

"Minjae, baby, please! Let's talk this out!" Yoongi begged, grabbing at his hair to try and distract him from the throbbing pain in his head and his heart.

"No! Don't you understand? Every single time we talk it out, every single fucking time you promise not to do it again, you do! I'm tired of you loving someone else, i'm tired of you kissing my lips knowing that you used those same lips to kiss someone else's and I'm tired of you being too drunk to even realize you bring this same person every single time to fuck in our bedroom to leave me to sleep on the couch, in tears as I listen to your filthy moans. Do you even understand how much that hurts?"

Yoongi grit his teeth.

"Now tell me," Minjae whispered brokingly. "Who will it be? Me or...

Jung Hoseok."

Yoongi could feel the air knock out of his lungs as Minjae asked that question.

"Minjae..." Yoongi whispered. He reached out for him, only to get his hand slapped away. He could feel the warm flow of tears trail down his cheeks.

"Tell me please," Minjae sobbed, clenching his shirt in his fist where his heart was beating uncontrollably.

Yoongi looked away and kept quiet.

"I-I see," Minjae forced a watery smile onto his face. "It is H-hoseok you w-want, yes?"

When Yoongi refused to reply, Minjae spoke up.

"Fine. Y-you can fuck Hoseok without m-me being such a c-cockblock now. I'll take my leave, but ple-please be clear of the fact that I n-never want to see you ever again. I'll be taking my l-leave now." Minjae ran to their shared bedroom, with Yoongi hot on his trail.

"No Minjae, please don't leave me!" Yoongi sobbed as he wrapped his arms around Minjae's waist and dug his face into his neck. Minjae roughly pushed Yoongi away and ignored his protests, grabbing his clothes and toothbrush and shoved them into a suitcase.

"Minjae, listen-"

Minjae tensed and turned around. His face was blank without emotion, the dried tears still stained his cheeks but had stopped pouring out of his eyes.

"No, you listen." Minjae started monotonously.

"The moment I leave this door, you will never see me again. I hope you take this into consideration and leave me alone. Learn your lesson and realize that sometimes, kissing someone's lips lovingly but then turning to another person and telling them you love them more than anything hurts. If you had told me before, you could probably be living a nice and healthy life, in a relationship with Hoseok and everything.

Maybe love just isn't  for you." and Minjae left, without heating a word from Yoongi.

And this time, Yoongi didn't stop him.

That night, Yoongi couldn't sleep at all. He was a mess and his feelings were everywhere. He knew what he had to do.

He dragged his phone off the nightstand, squinting his eyes and grunting when the bright light of his phone shone in his face. He stared at his lockscreen--a picture of Minjae looking at fireworks in awe while holding Yoongi's hand. He stared at it for a while before unlocking his phone.

He went through his contacts, looking for a specific someone...

He stopped at 'Hoseokie<3', the contact name Hoseok had changed once they began to date when Hoseok confessed he had feelings for him since they were little. Hesitantly, He pressed on the contact name and phoned Hoseok.

beeeep. beeeep. beeeep.

At the third ring, he heard some shuffling.

"Hello?" he heard Hoseok's voice over the phone. Something that would usually make his heart beat faster, his hands clammy and his legs weak. But this time, he was unaffected.

"I think we should break up," Yoongi said bluntly. Straight to the point.

tt

He heard the line go silent, then heard Hoseok laugh nervously through the phone.

"You're... You're joking right?" Hoseok asked shakily.

"No. I'm sorry, but I can't go on anymore. I don't... Feel anything for you anymore." Yoongi replied, his voice cracking a bit at the end.

He heard Hoseok sob, and some whimpering. His heart sank- he didn't like that sound at all, but it was for the best. Hoseok and Minjae deserved better.

"Yoongi, was this all a joke to you? All those years I've been yearning for you and when I've finally got you, you want to leave?" Hoseok wailed quietly.

"..."

"And you expect us to be friends after this, right? Do you understand how diificult that will be, having to see your face and be reminded of this very moment? Being reminded that maybe I was just a fling? Now I know how Minjae felt."

"Hoseok, I'm sorry but I can't anymore. Let's just be friends and forget about this," Yoongi pleaded. He didn't want to lose another person.

He could hear soft and shaky breathes as Hoseok hesitated to reply.

"Fine, but only for the sake of OUR friends." Hoseok finished before hanging up.

Eventually, they both moved on from each other. Minjae had a new life with a handsome man, Yoongi and Hoseok were best buddies again and everything was fine, all fine.

Until Taehyung ran to them crying in desperation, and explained his current situation.

Until Jimin had broken into tears for Taehyung and Yoongi comforted him, offered to go to Jimin's place and cuddle with him.

Until he pecked Jimin's lips when he was fast asleep, and then realized what he had done.

Everything was fine until he started to fall in love all over again.

His heart clenches at the old memory and he breathes in shakily, blinking the tears in his eyes away.

Crying is for weaklings. It didn't even do him good back then when he was still dating both Hoseok and Minjae.

But forget about that. That was in the past, many years ago.

What mattered was now, and now he needed to get rid of his... feelings for Jimin before it was too late.

He was knocked out of his train of thought when a sudden presence welcomed itself into his room. He tensed and slowly turned around, his eyes landing on the shards of golden aura clumping together to form Taehyung's body.  He let out a relieved sigh and fixed his composure, ignoring the tear stains on the paper of the book.

Nobody knew about his past relationship with Hoseok because he kept it a secret both when he was with Hoseok and after that.

"Sorry to interrupt, but I just thought I could receive some assistance for myself since Bogum and Gukk are busy down in the basement," Taehyung explained as he strolled over to Yoongi.

"Of course," Yoongi nodded, turning to his book and quickly flipping the pages to hide the tear stains and blotched ink.

"Let's start with the basics, teleporting."

Chapter 23: A/N... PLEASE READ

Chapter Text

So lemme just be a blunt bitch

im thinking of deleting the chapters and rewriting it because the plot is too confusing and nothing makes sense. I started writing this about a year ago and published it a few months after i wrote some stuff and thought of it, but ive lost all inspiration because i had no idea what to write afterwards.

so this doesnt mean im going to completely give up on this story, rather i am going to rewrite it with the same idea and a more clean, organized plot so that you guys can understand whats going on better so dont worry!

please tell me what you think about my decisions. I will delete the chapters in a maximum of three days, with a few chapters already written and ready to be published.

thank you for taking the time to read this--if you did, anyway

and if those who read this are still alive

ive been neglecting this, my apologies!

i dont want to delete the whole fic because of all the kudos given to me by those who took the time to read it so i will only delete the chapters and publish new and (hopefully) better ones for you to read

that is, unless deleting it all and starting anew is a better idea in ur opinion

again, thank you for reading this xoxo
