Chapter Text

“A new training program?”

Sora tilted his head inquisitively as he looked down at the screen of his gummiphone. He was currently in bed on top of the covers wearing just a white and grey T-shirt that was a little loose on him on along with the choker marked with his lover’s symbol around his neck. His Meow Wow, Lucy, was sound asleep curled up next to him, her small squeaky snores audible as he looked at the screen while his other hand petted the small dreameater gently.

The boy on screen, Hiro Hamada, nodded enthusiastically. “That’s right!” he said, “I think it might actually be an improvement over the last one. And I was hoping you could help me test it out.”

The brunet smiled nodding, “Sure thing! I’m always up for more Shugyo!” It was then Sora got an idea. “Hey, Hiro.” He started, “There’s someone I want you and the others to meet. ‘Mind if I bring him along? Donald and Goofy won’t be able to come with me this time, so maybe he could help test your training program too.”

“Really?” Hiro asked showing interest, “Is he a-what are you guys called-keyblade wielder too?” Despite stressing the importance of “keeping the order”, Sora found Hiro trustworthy enough to disclose how he and the others weren’t just from out of town but from another world altogether. Donald may have chewed his ear off for that afterward, but he was more or less used to the duck mage’s blathering rants.

“Yep!” Sora chirped, “Just wait until you see what he can do.”

Hiro laughed, “Well, I guess I have to meet him, then!.”

“Indeed.” Sora smiled as he saw one of the Baymaxes appeared beside Hiro. The Healthcare Companion held a finger to make his point. “It would be very useful to include another individual in Shugyo to add variety in a developing skill set. Plus, I am interested in getting acquainted with more of Sora’s friends.”

“Agreed!” Sora jumped when Honey Lemon appeared behind Hiro’s shoulder on the screen, the chemist beaming brightly, “Any friend of Sora is a friend of ours.”

Sora chuckled blushing, “Sure. Friend….” He trailed off with his eyes looking up towards the closed door of the bathroom. The teen wasn’t so sure if he should correct right there that said person is more than a friend. ‘Guess I’ll have to drop the ball when the time comes' He thought. He quickly shook his head remembering the conversation at hand, “Er-Thanks, Aiko. I’m sure he’ll be glad to hear it.”[1]

Hiro nodded, “Alright then, see you when you get here?”

“Of course!” The brunet pumped a fist, “I’ll go tell him right now. See ya guys soon!” the three on-screen waved goodbye before the call ended.

“Tell me what?”

Sora jolted at the smooth voice and felt the bed dip a little. Looking up from his phone, he saw that the owner of said voice was sitting sideways in front of him on the edge of the mattress.

Roxas was smiling gently down at him, his blond hair matted down, still wet from his shower, wearing a sleeveless black tee with grey pants and a towel around his neck. Sora flushed at the sight, giving him a smile of his own, “Was wondering if you were up for a day trip to San Fransokyo.”

“You mean that big city that could fit fifty Twilight Towns and another fifty Radiant Gardens as you described it?”

“Haha, right on the mark, Roxas!” Sora nodded with a grin, “That’s also where that gang of superheroes live. You know, Big Hero 6? I’ve told you about them. Hiro invited both of us to come visit them and they’d be thrilled to meet you.” He reached over to lay his hand on top of Roxas’s.

Roxas smiled back, “Just us?” He turned his hand over to link it with the other’s, “They’re not expecting ‘Keyblade Hero 3’?”

The smaller of the two groaned being reminded of that impromptu team name he gave himself with Donald and Goofy. “I don’t know what I was thinking at the time.”

“You mean you were actually thinking?”

“Hey!” Sora took his hand back pouting, “You know, you could just stay home. I’m sure Ven or Riku wouldn’t mind a training buddy today.” He smirked, despite his tone not really putting any weight behind his threat.

Roxas rolled his eyes, “Sure. I think you mean ‘training dummy’” Taking Sora’s hand again, he placed a soft kiss on the back of it, “And you know I was just teasing, Sora.” He stated softly.

“Yeah, I know.” Sora smiled, softened by the gesture, “I also know you’re more than capable of keeping up with both of them.”

“I guess me still being alive is proof of that.” The blond then groaned as he held his forehead, “Ventus really doesn’t fuck around when we spar. I don’t even think he treats it as sparring, he might actually be trying to kill me.”

Sora shook his head laughing, “Ven’s not trying to kill you, Roxas. He’s just making sure you’re kept on your toes.”

Roxas let out a puff of air, “Well, it’s working.” he sighed.

That statement wasn’t far from the truth. Roxas always found himself feeling chills run up his spine whenever he was around Ventus, especially since they had to be in the same vicinity for Terra’s training sessions. The blond knew that the Wayfinder user was already scrutinizing him upon learning that he and Sora were together, and that the rigorous way he pushed him was to test how well he could hold himself. At least, that’s what he thought. Roxas couldn’t help but wonder if there was something else about him that had Ventus this wary, and not just because of how protective he is over his little brother figure.

“Roxas?”

The blond in question jolted out of his thoughts and turned to see Sora’s concerned blue eyes looking at him. Roxas merely shook his head and smiled reassuringly at his lover. He scooted closer towards the smaller boy and placed a soft kiss on his forehead.

“It’s nothing, Kitten. Was just thinking how nice it would be to take a break from all this keyblade business is all.”

Roxas knew that Sora could see through that small lie, but he was glad that the brunet understood it was best to change the subject for now. The matter over the ongoing conflict between him and Ventus could wait another day.

Sora smiled lovingly at his boyfriend and kissed his nose, “I take it you’re in?” He beamed as Roxas nodded his head smiling, “It’s also nice we can have a small adventure together.” He added, running a hand through blond locks.

Roxas smirked as he remarked, “It’s even nicer that I have you all to myself on said adventure.” he began to nuzzle Sora’s neck slowly.

Sora blushed and squeaked in surprise at the sensation, “Down, boy-hah!” he gasped as he felt teeth starting to nibble at a spot on his neck.

The brunet squirmed slightly, bringing his hands up as he gently pushed his lover back a little, “We really should get ready.” While Sora did not want his lover to stop by any means, he knew if they were to go any further then they’d never leave the bed, let alone the house.

Roxas let out an all suffering sigh, “Yeah, we should.” He placed a kiss on his Other’s cheek and reluctantly shifted his position back to sitting in front of Sora. He then glanced over at the still sleeping dreameater at Sora’s side, “She gonna sleep all day?” he asked, regarding the Meow Wow with amusement.

As if on cue, Lucy instantly sprung up. Perking up seeing that Roxas was present, she shook herself before quickly hopping over to the blond, jumping up and down on her hind legs with her tail shaking all around as she raised her tiny paws to get his attention.

Roxas chuckled and scratched behind Lucy’s ear, watching the Meow Wow flop down on her side and shake her little hind leg in enjoyment. “Hey, girl. Did you have a nice nap?” He smiled softly watching her coo at the attention she was getting.

Lucy mewed in affirmation while nuzzling Roxas’s hand earning a warm chuckle from the teen. Sora watched the scene adoringly, always happy to see the two playing together. Despite how aloof Roxas may seem at times, it was nice to see this gentler side of him. He’s been one of the few on the receiving end of it after all.

Roxas paused in petting Lucy to look back at Sora, the latter still smiling at them. The blond raised an eyebrow, “What?” he asked, wondering what his boyfriend was smiling about.

Sora only grinned and snapped a photo with his phone before standing up from the bed, stretching his arms above his head with the shirt riding up where it barely covered the area above his thighs. Even with his back facing the other, The Kingdom Key user could feel his lover watching his every move. “Is that my shirt?” Sora heard Roxas ask. The brunet looked over his shoulder giving his lover a smoldering look, “Took you this long to notice?”

Roxas chuckled and moved to stand up from his spot on the bed. Dark sapphire eyes were staring intently at Sora, but before he could even make a move, the brunet was already dashing into the bathroom giggling. Despite his best efforts, Roxas was unable to catch the smaller boy and was instead met with a locked door.

Roxas groaned at being thwarted, only to perk up. ”Wait…” he smirked and leaned closer to the door, “Hey, Sora~” he called, “How are you gonna get ready in there without a change of clothes?”

Sora snorted as he leaned against his side of the door, “You seem to have forgotten something, Rox.”

“What’s that, Kitten?”

Before answering, the brunet concentrated a bit and snapped his fingers. Almost instantly, a swirl of sparkles flew around him from top to bottom, his clothes changing to his normal venturing attire with Roxas’s shirt manifesting on his arm neatly folded. He hummed a small tune as he unlocked and opened the door.

Sora laughed at the dumbfounded look on Roxas’s face once he saw that he was fully clothed, “This little thing called ‘magic’.” He casually stated, throwing the shirt on top of the blond’s head as he walked passed.

Seeing that his spellcasting was advancing at a remarkable pace, Aqua had been teaching him magic that would be used by the three good fairies, such as magically change his clothes. It was useful for various situations, this one included.

However, laughter gave way for a high pitched squeak when he felt a hand smack his ass. Sora blushed heavily holding his bottom and looking over his shoulder at Roxas incredulously, the latter gazing back with a smug look on his face.

“That was mean.” Sora pouted, watching the blond walk nonchalantly to the dresser. “Hope you weren’t planning on doing that in the city.”

Roxas chortled, “Don’t tempt me now.” He paused in pulling out his clothes to look behind him, “I’m gonna get you back later for that little trick you pulled, by the way.”

The brunet rolled his eyes. “I’m shaking.” he deadpanned before calling Lucy over to usher her out the room.

“Oh, you will be.” The taller boy wiggled his eyebrows suggestively, smirking when Sora nearly tripped over himself in response. The brunet was flustered with his cheeks stained pink and blue eyes widened. “You feeling alright, Kitten?”

Sora blushed even harder, “Just shut up and get dressed…” He muttered walking out into the hall, “We’re leaving in 10 minutes!”

The blond turned around to do a bow, “Yes, Milady!” He called out in mock curtsey.

Sora paused, and without turning around, flipped his boyfriend the bird before disappearing from the view of the doorway.

Roxas chuckled fondly, “He’s so cute when he’s feisty.”

Notes:

So, funny story behind this one.

This was supposed to be one of the chapters for "Just a Moment", but it became too long for a one-shot and I actually want to expand more on this concept. With said concept being Sora and Roxas exploring different worlds together.

I'm going with the Big Hero 6 world here since not only did the movie leave me with feels, but I personally thought it was the best world in the game. I also live near the San Francisco area and I've had the greatest luck being able to go to Japan recently, more specifically Tokyo. I feel like my familiarity with both cities will be a great help in writing out the scenes in this story.

For those who read and follow "Just a Moment", don't worry, I am definitely going to update that one. Can't say when because I have a hectic schedule and I get little time to actually sit down and write. But, I'm really grateful to those who sat down and took a look at my story as well as actually leaving kudos and/or comments. You guys really give me the encouragement to bring more to the table.

This story is for you guys. I hope that you have fun reading this, as I'm having fun writing it out!

See you in the next chapter!

Footnotes:

[1] In the original Marvel comic, Honey Lemon's real name is Aiko Miyazaki. It's not mentioned in the movie and I'm not sure if her and the other members' real names, aside from Hiro, are disclosed in the tv series. None the less, I'm gonna consider that as canon.

Chapter 2: Shenanigans and Meeting the Team

Notes:

Hello, readers.

Hope you're all doing well in spite of these crazy times.

I bring to you the 2nd chapter of the fic I keep saying I'll continue a year later. The only explanation I can provide without making it a whole thing is that writers block and life are a bitch.

Haven't forgotten about this fic, I swear. I apologize for the long-ass wait and I hope whoever's reading will enjoy this nevertheless.

Thank you and enjoy.

Chapter Text

“Woah… you weren’t kidding, this place is huge.”

Sora and Roxas were standing in the Central District of San Fransokyo, with Roxas being in awe taking in what he saw. The tall intricate structures, the seemingly endless mob of people moving about, along with the sounds of activity trailing from almost every direction. After leaving the house, letting friends know where they’ll be in case they need them and arguing over who got to pilot the Gummi Ship, the couple finally made it to the metropolitan world that contrasted with the familiar tight-knit environments of Destiny Islands or Twilight Town.

Sora smiled seeing how spectacled the other was taking in his surroundings. He knew he was going to have a blast showing his boyfriend around the city along with introducing him to Hiro and the others. He took Roxas’s hand, prompting the other teen to look at him.

“Told ya.” the brunet said, amusement twinkling in his blue eyes, “You haven’t even seen half of it yet. ” Sora took a few minutes to take in the city himself. Despite already being familiar with the city, the excitement and wonder of being in an environment as lively as San Fransokyo never ceased to amaze him.

“So, when exactly were we supposed to meet these guys?”

“Well…” Sora let go of Roxas’s hand and crossed his arms in thought, “I actually talked with Hiro on the way here. He told me there was a situation across the bridge that they had to take care of. So, they’ll most likely be a while.” He shrugged and grinned, “But, he said we’re more than welcome to hang out at the Lucky Cat Cafe in the meantime.”

“Lucky Cat Cafe?” Roxas repeated confused, “What’s that? A cafe run by cats?”

The smaller boy chuckled as he took his boyfriend’s hand again. “Well, there is a cat, but, you’ll see. C’mon!” He pulled Roxas behind him as he ran, “We can take the scenic route!” The blond yelped in surprise but quickly got his legs moving to keep up with Sora. “Do you even know which way you’re going?” He laughed.

The brunet looked behind him with a grin, “Nope! But, that’s the beauty of it, don’t you think?”

Roxas shook his head with a smile. He did agree it sounded fun, what better way to explore?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Roxas, hurry!”

“Easy, Sor! I kinda need this arm!”

Sora was running at the speed of light pulling Roxas with him by the arm, the two heading towards a single train car parked along a track. Sora insisted to his boyfriend that they ride on the cable car, stating that it’s a great way to see the city. Roxas was already familiar with the concept of a tram, having one in Twilight Town, but was intrigued to learn that this one had a longer route and wasn’t bound to just one area. The conductor, an elderly man, was standing in front of the entrance to the car and smiled kindly as the pair approached.

“You’re in luck, boys.” He tipped his hat and bowed in greeting, “We have spots left in the train for two more people.”

Sora cheered, “Awesome! Thank you so much, sir!” He bowed to the man in thanks. Roxas observed the exchange oddly but quickly followed suit.

“Uh, yeah, what he said. Thank you.” Roxas said awkwardly as he copied his boyfriend’s gesture and bowed slightly to the conductor.

The man chuckled warmly and gestured for the pair to enter the car, “It’s no problem, gentlemen. Enjoy the ride!” The boys smiled at each other as they went inside the train car. The conductor wasn’t exaggerating about there being enough for just two more people, as the car was packed. With all the seats taken, the pair found a spot near a window with a few handrails for those that had to stand. Roxas held onto the rail with one hand and wrapped his free arm around Sora’s waist. Sora pouted but still wound his arms around his boyfriend’s shoulders as Roxas chuckled in amusement at the arrangement.

The two smiled at each other, with Sora nuzzling his head against Roxas’s shoulder with the blond securing his hold on him.

While some people gave them weird looks, the majority were too focused on the sights that passed them by as the tram moved along at a steady pace. This part of the city was vibrant with activity, as pedestrians could be seen entering and exiting the shops that lined the street, cars, and busses moving along in many directions, and of course, people just standing along the sidewalk of the streets, whether it was watching the cable car roll by, or just chatting with their fellow city dweller.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eventually, the cable car made its final stop with the remaining passengers getting off. Sora and Roxas hopped off and after waving at the conductor, proceeded with their excursion.

The two boys stopped upon coming at the edge of a hill and noticed upon looking down that the street was crooked with hairpin turns as it went downhill. The houses standing on both sides of the street appeared as if they were steps on a staircase with the way the structures were stacked at an angle. Observing the layout made both boys wonder if the people living there get tired having to walk the incline in either direction.

“Wooah…”

The two spent a few minutes staring in wonder at the wonky looking road before Sora looked at Roxas with an all-knowing grin. The street was devoid of any people at that moment, letting an idea pop into the brunet’s head. Roxas raised an eyebrow.

“What are you thinking, Sora?”

“Wellllll….” Sora trailed, eyeing what appeared to be some rather conveniently parked yellow cars the size of tricycles on the side of the street. “I was just thinking this would be a good opportunity to practice improving your turns.”

The blond’s mouth dropped open in disbelief. “Excuse you! I think my maneuvers are decent enough.” Roxas sulked. Sure, he may not have yet been at a perfect level of piloting the gummiship, but it’s not like he was complete garbage at it either!

“Your maneuvers are fine, knowing when to turn however….Not so much.”

“Care to be more specific?”

“You tend to mistake left with right and vice versa.”

“In other words, you’re saying I have no sense of direction.”

“You said it, not me.” Sora raised his arms behind his head while looking away innocently. Roxas’s eyebrow twitched.

“This is coming from the guy who had trouble getting to Neverland because he kept choosing the wrong warphole?”

Sora snapped his head back towards Roxas, “Hey!” He shouted indignantly, “In my defense, all those warp holes looked the same. How did you even know that? Do I have to kill Donald now?” The smaller boy crossed his arms with a pout. He had a feeling the only way Roxas got to know of specific mishaps from his first journey was from a certain big beak duck mage. The blond couldn’t help but laugh at the adorable display.

“Easy, Sora. I had access to your memories at one point, remember?” Roxas smiled while lightly poking the other on the forehead, “Some of which includes your most noobish moments.”

“Oh. Right...”

“It’s okay, Kitten.” Roxas casually wrapped an arm around his boyfriend pulling him closer, “You know I still love you even if your memory is shotty.” Sora blushed and glared in embarrassment for a second, which then gave way for a smile. He knew Roxas was just teasing, as was a common occurrence in regards to their relationship. Remembering his eagerness to try out the street, the brunet latched onto Roxas’s arm in enthusiasm.

“So, are you game? Whoever can make it down without derailing wins?” Sora pointed towards the small cars still keeping eye contact with the blond. Roxas smirked accepting the challenge.

“Let’s do it.”

After getting their respective cars, the boys wheeled them over to the edge of the street where it started to dip. The street was unfortunately too narrow for them to properly race, so they’d have to go one at a time.

The ride down was eventful, to say the least. Sora handled the winding street well, steering perfectly along all eight hairpin turns without so much as hitting the hedges. Roxas wasn’t too bad himself, as he was also able to make his turns determined not to be outdone. However, due to the speed both boys were going, their descent from the incline launched them further along the street, making their cars zoom past bewildered pedestrians and drivers alike. The boys simultaneously yelped as they came across a street that was devoid of cars and instead was occupied by lounge chairs, tables, and of course, people.

Thankfully, most of the people were already safely on the sidewalk, and those that weren’t had been expertly avoided. The pairs’ cars speeded through, the boys moving in and out to avoid both tables and pedestrians. Sora was laughing gleefully having the time of his life, while Roxas’s laugh was out of both exaltation and the fear of potentially crashing into something or someone. As fun as this was, both knew they had to stop somewhere, less the pair wanted to attract more attention than they already got.

“Hey, Sora?!” Roxas yelled from behind Sora, “See any place we can park?!”

“You mean without running someone over? Nope!”

Sora spotted a part of the street leading to an alleyway that lay less than a mile ahead. Motioning for Roxas to follow him, Sora turned the steering wheel to the right and then the left, allowing his car to drift into the alley. The car skidded a few feet before coming to a stop. Roxas had made it into the space of the alley as well, his car screeching to a halt behind Sora’s.

Now obscured within the safety of the alley, the pair stared at each other wide-eyed for a few minutes, both contemplating what just happened. They then burst into laughter once the adrenaline wore off, remarking how wild that ride was. Still chuckling, they hopped out of their cars and walked off.

“Oh geez, that was really something.” Sora said, still giggling.

Roxas held a hand to his chest, “Yeah, but holy shit was that terrifying.” He panted catching his breath, “Next time, we’re staying on the train.”

Sora laughed and clasped his boyfriend’s hand. “Great driving back there, by the way.” He gave Roxas a smile. The blond smiled back and squeezed Sora’s hand affectionately.

“Thanks, maybe someday I’ll be able to dethrone your skill level.”

“Pfft. You can try.”

“I think I will.”

The pair’s back and forth continued as they walked back out into the wide street of the district, avoiding the people conversing hurriedly amongst each other still wondering about the previous commotion. Thankfully, no one seemed to know that it was them speeding through the street since they were going pretty fast. The two boys spent an hour exploring the area, which turned out to be a large shopping district lined with both department stores along with modestly sized shops.

Somewhere along the way, Sora stopped, having just realized something. Roxas halted as well with an inquisitive expression towards his boyfriend.

“I don’t think we determined who the winner was.” The brunet said.

Roxas thought for a bit. “I don’t think I could tell who was first. Did you?”

“No. Which is poopy.” Sora pouted, his competitive side not liking that no winner could be confirmed.

“It’s okay, Kitten.” Roxas threw an arm around Sora’s shoulders. “There’ll be other chances. Hopefully where it doesn’t include the risk of making the news.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After an hour of walking around, poking in some of the shops, and chatting with the shopkeepers, they decided to take a break and sit at one of the tables which fortunately happened to be vacant. Sora sighed as he tiredly sunk onto the chair at one end of the table while Roxas flopped into the one on the other end.

“I’m beat.” The blond groaned resting his head down on the table.

“Same here.” Said Sora, “I could actually go for a drink.”

“Yeah, I’m feeling kinda thirsty myself. Though, I’m not too big on using an elixir if it isn’t during a fight.”

Sora nodded. They had some healing items on hand despite this being a social visit, one couldn’t be too careful after all. The world was still susceptible to the Heartless manifesting even if things had been peaceful for time being. “Well,” The brunet began, looking around at the many shops before steadying his gaze back on the other teen, “We have plenty of options to choose from. What are you feeling?”

Roxas was thinking when he heard a pinging sound that seemed to be coming from one of his pants pockets. Reaching for the source of the noise, he pulled out his phone, noticing a message on the screen.

[Lea]: ‘What’d you two do this time?’

Sora took his own phone out having received the same notification. Both were confused until Lea followed up with an attachment. “Looks like we made this world’s newsfeed.” Sora smiled sheepishly. He showed what Lea attached with the message causing the blond to wince.

“Well, shit.” Lea had sent a screenshot of an anonymous post headlined “San Fransokyo Drift” along with a picture snapped of the boys speeding by in their karts with the addition of some bewildered bystanders in the background. Fortunately, the only thing that could be viewed clearly was their karts and the trail they left.

Another notification popped up.

[Riku]: ‘We don’t need to come bail you guys out like last time, right?’

The pair stared at each other for a good moment before pocketing their phones as if they never even saw the messages. It was alright, feigning ignorance would work for as long as they were still away. Another perk of traveling in between worlds.

“Iced coffee?”

“Sounds good to me.”

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“I’m sorry, Miss, but I’m really not interested.” Roxas smiled politely as he could at the girl, hoping that she would get the hint and leave him alone.

Nope.

If anything, her eyes narrowed, lips curling unpleasantly as she placed her hands on her hips. ‘Ah, shit…’ Roxas thought. ‘Would it go against keeping the Order if I aero’ed her away…’ He really hoped Sora came back soon so he could have an excuse to get away. This girl was obviously not going anywhere on her own accord.

“And why wouldn’t you be?” She asked haughtily. “Am I not hot enough for you or something?”

‘Well, you’re definitely not a cute, sexy, amazing blue eyed brunet with an ass that doesn’t quit for one thing.’ Roxas couldn’t help but think. She was physically appealing, he’d give her that, but the way she was acting would put off even the most superficial individual. His eyes darted around desperately for his boyfriend, who he couldn’t see amongst the moving sea of people.

Suddenly, an arm slid around Roxas’s and pulled him close to a slim body. The handsome blond jolted in surprise for a second before relaxing, definitely familiar with said body.

Roxas turned to look at Sora in relief and noticed that the normally chipper brunet was Not looking too chipper at that moment. His boyfriend’s usual bright ocean eyes were now darkened dangerously with the equivalent of the sea’s deep abyss, pink lips flattened into a frown. The former Nobody recognized that look, recalling the one time he found himself on the receiving end of it when he forgot it was his turn to take Lucy out for her before-bed-grass-run one night. He still doesn’t know how he managed to survive to tell that tale.

The girl accosting Roxas had turned white as her eyes widened with movement of her throat signifying a gulp in response to being the target of Sora’s glare. Roxas didn’t blame her, Sora was capable of being deadly in ways besides the use of a keyblade. A mistake that various foes make in overlooking that possibility. A mistake that some foes aren’t able to make twice.

Roxas normally had a good read on his boyfriend regarding his moods, but he couldn’t quite pinpoint what Sora was going to do with how quiet he was.

Too quiet.

Before Roxas could address the other, the brunet suddenly smirked in the girl’s direction.

“Oh, I can show you why he’s not interested.” Sora informed in a casual yet cold manner. With his free arm, Sora immediately wrapped it around Roxas’s neck, pulling his boyfriend down to crash his lips against his. Roxas’s eyes widened in surprise for only a millisecond before closing them as he wrapped his arms possessively around his boyfriend’s slim waist, pulling Sora firmly against him.

The now gaping girl was ignored in favor of the couple focusing on each other. Roxas kissed his brunet hard, pushing his tongue against the other’s lips demanding entrance into the sweet addicting cavern. Sora, the little tease, giggled as he kept his lips closed, lazily placing his other arm around the taller teen’s neck. Roxas growled into the kiss before subtly rubbing his knee in between Sora’s legs, making his boyfriend moan thus giving him the opportunity to move his tongue against the other’s.

The two continued their impromptu make-out session until the need for oxygen arisen. The two broke the kiss, their faces flushed as they panted and gazed into each others’ eyes, deep desire and affection mirroring the other.

Sora then looked away to smile smugly at the now frozen girl.

“In case you didn’t get that; He’s mine.” The brunet then yelped as his hand was immediately grabbed, his boyfriend pulling him away from the cafe.

The girl was just left standing there while her friends watched the couple leave from the background wide-eyed and flushed. The silence was broken when one of the other girls spoke up.

“That was so hot…..”

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Roxas was continuing to pull Sora along the streets with the brunet still pouting over the nerve of the girl that was hitting on his boyfriend. Noticing how silent Roxas was as they continued walking, the brunet asked,

“Hey Roxas, you okay?”

The taller boy seemed to snap out of his thoughts as he then halted, resulting in Sora bumping into his back. Sora looked up at his lover quizzically, wondering what the hold up was.

The blond looked over their surroundings and noticed that they were in a park devoid of a large crowd. He then looked over his shoulder with a slight smirk, “That was pretty ballsy of you, Kitten.” The taller boy turned fully around to face the other.

The brunet blinked and realized Roxas was talking about the incident at that cafe. Sora blushed and looked down meekly,

“Sorry, Rox.” He said scratching the back of his head. He really hoped he didn’t end up embarrassing his Other.

The brunet then felt fingers lifting his chin with Roxas’s lips briefly meeting his. The taller boy chuckled at his boyfriend blinking adorably when he pulled back. Smirking down at him, Roxas stated huskily,

“Don’t be.”

--------------------------------

“Hey, cutie. Have I seen you somewhere?”

Sora clenched his jaw at the obvious pick up line that some young brown haired male with an aura that screamed ‘Arrogant Ass Hat’ just tried to use on him.

‘Maybe you did. Must be why I don’t go there anymore.’ Sora thought.

Sora didn’t think he’d run into this kind of trouble while waiting for Roxas to come back from the restroom in a large shopping mall.

Maybe before, he’d be oblivious to the notion that he was getting hit on, but once he and Roxas got together, Sora was making sure to be more aware of the advances that people made towards him. He learned the hard way the first time just how territorial Roxas could be when it came to him. Plus, he did feel bad for the scarring those who unwittingly incurred his boyfriend’s wrath received. Whether it was mental or physical.

So, with the best smile he could put on, Sora attempted to remove himself from this situation, “Haha, doubt it! I’m not from around here, so-”

“So, you’re still cute.” The guy smirked looking him up and down.

“Umm, thank you?” The brunet could tell that the guy was not just aiming to pay him a compliment. His eyes darted around looking for Roxas as the discomfort with the situation grew, “I wish I could stay and chat, but I’m actually meeting with someone.”

The guy then laughed, “Why not stay with me instead, baby? I’m sure I will make better company.”

Sora paled with his smile fading completely as the guy moved closer. This really wasn’t good. He didn’t want to resort to violence on a civilian, but he may not have any other choice on this matter. Before the stranger could step right into his personal space, Sora felt an arm immediately wrapped around his waist and pulled him away from the guy and securely against a fit and strong body. The brunet sighed in relief and looked to his rescuer appreciatively. Roxas just held him closer while aiming a dark glare at the idiot who dared to try to touch his Sora.

“Is there a problem here?” While the dual keyblade wielder’s tone was calm, one could tell from his expression how much he wanted to break the stranger’s face. If looks could kill.

‘I seriously could care less about the “Order” right now,’ Roxas thought sourly.

The stranger, whether out of confidence or stupidity, sneered and replied, “Not that it’s any of your business, blondie, but I was just about to offer this cutie a good time.”

Roxas gave him a fake smile, “Aren’t you thoughtful?” His tone was acidic, “There’s no need, asshole, this cutie has his Boyfriend for that.” Sora stifled a laugh at the guy’s expression in response to Roxas’s comment and smiled faintly at his Other with the blond sparing a second to smile back at him gently. Roxas then looked back to aim a glare at the guy again.

The guy just narrowed his eyes, “Oh, really?” He flippantly asked, “And how would you know?”

“Because you’re looking at him.” Roxas’s reply was blunt, his patience already running thin, “So, how about you do yourself a favor and get lost?”

People could be seen gathering around both parties. Some were whispering to each other if the police needed to get involved while others were commenting how sweet the blond haired male was in defending his boyfriend.

“Roxas, let’s just go.” the blond looked at Sora who was giving him a pleading look, “People are staring.” The taller keybearer frowned, also noticing the crowd surrounding them. Normally, Roxas wouldn’t care who was watching as he stood his ground. But, even he knew It would be beneficial to get out of there, if mainly for Sora’s sake as he could see that his Other was already very uncomfortable with the situation. The main question was how to leave with all those eyes on them.

Something then clicked in Sora’s brain. He tugged at Roxas’s sleeve to get his attention and leaned upwards to whisper something into his ear. Blond eyebrows rose slightly before the taller teen smirked. Roxas then whispered something back which had Sora nodding with a grin. They both turned back towards the stranger.

The guy’s face was red with anger as he snapped, “What could you possibly do, chicken head?”

Roxas just snorted at the typical insult,“You really wanna know?” he asked, smirking darkly, noting with satisfaction how the guy withered a bit. “Last chance to walk away, buddy.”

“Or what?” The stranger asked in an attempt at bravado.

The guy looked from Roxas to Sora, the brunet leaning closer against the taller teen. The minute he took a step forward, thanks to a discrete snap of Sora’s fingers, the hem of what looked to be an expensive jacket suddenly became ignited by mere embers. Not enough to the point of incineration, but definitely enough to make him realize his jacket was slowly burning.

With the guy in total panic as he was putting out the tiny flames, the crowd turned their attention solely on him as someone splashed him with a water bottle. With everyone distracted, Roxas tightened his grip around Sora’s waist and warped both of them out of the mall at lightning speed, leaving a trail of light as they zoomed pass the unsuspecting pedestrians before landing on a flat roof of one of the buildings.

The pair laid on their sides catching their breaths with Roxas still holding Sora in his arms. Sora blinked a few times trying to ward off the dizziness he felt from that trip.

Feeling the arm around his waist loosen, he looked up to see Roxas gazing at him in concern, “You okay, Sora?” He asked, gently caressing his cheek. The brunet smiled and placed his own hand on top of Roxas’s.

“Yeah. Thanks for the save, Roxas.”

“Anytime. Bastard’s lucky he didn’t get far.” Roxas said with seriousness at the last part. If the guy had managed to touch Sora, all bets would’ve been off. “Good thinking with the Fire part, though.” Sora blushed at the compliment and purred feeling a hand run through his hair, “I thought you wanted to avoid violence on civilians.”

The smaller boy grinned, “Technically, there wasn’t any violence invoked on our part.” He pointed out, “He just had a bad run in with the elements.”

Roxas laughed nuzzling the top of his head, “well, aren’t you clever?” Earning himself a giggle from his boyfriend.

“Also, thanks for not going full on attack mode this time.” Sora commented, “I think you may be getting the hang of controlling yourself more.” He teasingly stated the last part.

Roxas snorted in reply, “Just barely.” The taller teen tightened his hold around Sora posessively, “Still don’t appreciate people encroaching on what’s mine.”

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the most recent chain of events, the pair decided to stop for some ice cream in a section called Ghirardelli Square, where apparently the chocolate is to die for. After waiting in line for over what felt like an hour, and arguing for a minute over who would get to pay,

“Let me get it, you covered lunch last time!”

“Yeah, a miniscule lunch! Besides, I know you’re the one who’s been leaving me all those boxed lunches this week!”

“They’re called ‘bento’, Roxas.”

“So, you admit it.”

“............”

The boys eventually made it out of there with their ice cream cones as they laughed, previous matter forgotten, walking around hand in hand until they came to a pier railing overlooking the San Fransokyo Bay. They leaned over the railing, enjoying the view as they ate their ice cream. Ferry boats were sailing along the sea, birds were cawing as they flew by, and the bridge could be seen standing in the distance.

Sora closed his eyes and inhaled through his nose taking in the air as a swift breeze flew by. While he was familiar with the concept of sea air, it felt different here in comparison to Destiny Islands. It felt more strong and open. Letting out a content sigh, Sora looked over at Roxas who appeared relaxed while enjoying the view himself. The brunet smiled and leaned his head against Roxas’s shoulder with the blond looking down at him smiling gently. Roxas placed a small kiss to the smaller’s forehead and wrapped his free hand around Sora’s waist, caressing his side gently.

“This is really nice.”

“I’ll say. Even with all the craziness earlier, I think this is turning out to be a pretty swell adventure, doncha think?”

Roxas nodded with a hum, turning his head to smile at Sora.

“To be fair, any adventure with you is swell.” He said.

Sora blushed, “Sap.” He replied, delivering a small playful nudge. Roxas laughed and pulled his boyfriend closer.

Roxas smirked, pressing their foreheads together, “I blame you, deal with it.”

The brunet nuzzled his face against the other’s, cherishing the closeness. Just as he was about to say something, a loud explosion erupted in the distance. The pair sprang apart and quickly looked behind them towards the source. People could be seen running trying to avoid whatever was lurking in the opposite direction. Sora and Roxas looked at each other and nodded before sprinting towards the area.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After bypassing the mass of people still fleeing from the scene, the two found themselves in a market area. Both the stalls and streets have been abandoned with various items left littered on the ground along with broken stands and turned over trash cans. The pair came to a halt spotting the source of all the chaos standing a few feet away from them.

A bunch of mechanitaurs and high soldiers had stood in the middle of the street, glancing around for potential victims, their attention suddenly honing in on the boys upon catching them in their sight. The duo wasted no time summoning their respective keyblades, Sora wielding his Kingdom Key with Roxas having both Oathkeeper and Oblivion ready. The group of heartless then charged at the same time as the paired key bearers.

The pair experienced little to no difficulty disposing of the active horde, the two boys practically being in sync with each other as a result of numerous experiences they shared in and out of the battlefield. If one would appear to be in a vulnerable position for an enemy strike, the other would act fast in covering him, the devotion and determination to protect demonstrated in their battle dynamic. This fight wouldn’t be any different.

Roxas smiled, admiring Sora’s use of various spell combinations and fluidity as he maneuvered and destroyed a good amount of the heartless surrounding him, visual evidence of how effective Aqua’s training had been for the brunet. In turn, Sora applauded how his lover ignited the battlefield with his aggressive yet swift attacks, striking down his enemies while wielding his dual weapons with commendable proficiency, showing how well the blond had been taking to Terra’s teachings.

The lovers eventually found themselves back to back with the horde replenishing their numbers. Sora frowned, looking behind him with Roxas doing the same, the blond sharing the same disgruntled feeling of the fight still ongoing.

Next thing the duo knew, rockets fired seemingly out of nowhere obliterated the dark beings into mist and released hearts. What followed was a pair of circular razorlike discs flying in the air and slicing through a couple of the airborne ones while an explosion of misty blue smoke engulfed the Mechanitaurs, freezing them in place.

Sora’s eyes widened in recognition of the weapons and attacks being used. He smiled as a familiar bunch jumped in from several directions to stand beside the duo. Roxas stared in amazement at the new arrivals. Gogo had skated in skidding to a halt in front of the pair, Honey Lemon, along with Fred and Wasabi, landed on their feet jumping off one of the Baymaxes. The last to arrive was the young leader himself, also jumping off the back of the Baymax he himself had ridden on the way there.

“Looks like we came just in time.” Hiro remarked with a smile towards Sora, the latter returning it joyfully.

“You guys need a hand?” Gogo smirked, also glad in her own subdued way of seeing the young keyblade wielder.

Honey Lemon had a look of surprise in regards to Roxas. “Oh! Hi there! You must be that friend Sora was telling us about.”

Roxas barely acknowledged the greeting, as he was currently preoccupied with staring incredulously at the blue scaly squid looking monster who was getting a tad too close to his face. “Uhhh, yeah, you can say that.” He turned his head and arched a blond eyebrow at Sora who was giggling for some reason.

The brunet could see that Roxas wasn’t aware yet that Fred wasn’t really a monster, and was curious how long it would take until his boyfriend found out.

Woaaaaaahhhhhhh!” Was what came out of Fred upon checking out Roxas’s keyblades, “You have two of them? At the same time? They’re kind of like Sora’s, except they’re more dangerous looking. Talk about double trouble!”

“Uhhhh.” Roxas stupidly replied. As if he wasn’t already taken aback by this monster jumping around, he now had to process the fact that it also freaking talked. He knew he should’ve just taken his iced coffee black.

Both Baymaxes had their attention on the still stupefied Roxas. One of them pointed a finger up and informed in their usual gentle tone, “I am sensing high levels of confusion within his brain waves. Based also on the current lack of speech pattern, it is accurate to conclude that Fred’s appearance has rendered him to a mild state of shock.”

“Uh, guys?”

Everyone turned towards Wasabi who had a finger pointed towards a newly spawned horde.

“How about assessing the new guy when we’re not fighting for our lives?”

Oh, right! Roxas shook his head regaining his focus and got into a ready position. The others following suit.

“Think you’re up for this, newbie?” Gogo asked Roxas, her attention still on the horde.

The blond replied with a smirk, “It’s Roxas. And don’t worry, I’m not all that green.” casually giving his weapons a twirl. Gogo raised an eyebrow intrigued.

“Nope, that would be Wasabi.” Fred chimed in.

Wasabi groaned, “He didn’t mean literally, Fred!” He yelped as some of the heartless made their assault, resulting in the group of heroes to spring into action. “Like I said, guys! Fight first, chat later!”

And thus the battle resumed.

Sora and Roxas once again paired together with the added assistance of Gogo and the two Baymaxes against the heavy hitters. Honey Lemon covered them in deactivating the Pole Cannons by tossing her chem-balls, encasing them in a tough goop. Wasabi and Fred were on airborne duty taking out the flying enemies with their projectiles.

Sometime during the battle, the lovers found themselves once again back to back, surrounded by what remained of the foot enemies. Though, this time with the tide of battle now in their favor, the pair were more than eager to engage.

“Hey, Rox.” Sora looked behind him with a smile, “Wanna make things more interesting?”

Roxas raised an eyebrow as he replied, “Depends on what you mean by ‘interesting’.”

“I was thinking: ‘wager’ interesting.”

Now, he was curious. “I’m listening.”

Ocean eyes lit up as Sora’s smile turned impish. “Whoever can take out the most heartless wins? Loser has to do anything the winner says?”

“Anything?” Roxas smirked salaciously.

“Anything.” Sora repeated in a low voice, looking over his shoulder. His bangs covered his eyes, but Roxas could very well see the daring smirk on his lover’s luscious pink lips. Roxas let out a short chuckle.

“Ventus was right, I really have corrupted you.”

“Or I just spend a lot of time in the Pirates World.” The brunet shrugged nonchalantly.

“Either way, Kitten, this bet’s mine.” The blond had that little “promise” from earlier to fulfill after all.

Sora chuckled, “Don’t count your chickens before they hatch, Rox.” At that, the two jumped into their respective horde, decimating the many heartless in their wake.

After what felt like an hour, Sora and Roxas with the addition of Big Hero 6 finally had the area cleared. After a brief final check of the perimeter, the group now were able to relax.

Roxas sighed in relief, keyblades vanishing from his hold. He looked over to Sora who stood at a distance waving cheerfully. The blond smiled and moved until the two met.

“Well, I cleaned up a lot.” Roxas casually informed stretching his arms. The brunet rolled his eyes.

“Well, I cleaned up more.” Sora countered rather smugly.

“Actually,” The pair turned around to see both Baymaxes holding up a finger, “based on the data I have tracked from Sora’s AR device, Sora had successfully destroyed 66 targets.” One of the medbots informed.

“All right!” Sora cheered with a little jump.

However, the other Baymax added with, “And based on the data I tracked from the targets around Roxas, he has successfully destroyed 67.”

The brunet instantly blanched, the frown on Roxas’s face shifting to surprised delight before a full-blown smirk took over.

“Turns out I counted my chickens right, Sora.” Roxas, still wearing that shit-eating grin, wrapped an arm around his pouting boyfriend’s shoulders.

Sora grumbled and pulled out the AR Device from his pack. He had actually forgotten about the headset until just now. “Traitor…” The brunet uttered, glaring down at it in reproach.

“Don’t worry, I promise my ‘request’ will be fun.”

Sora blushed muttering, “Fun for who, exactly?” careful not to let the others hear.

Roxas smirk grew even bigger. Though, just as he was about to describe more in detail about the “fun” they’ll have, he found his mouth covered courtesy of the smaller boy’s hand. Sora briefly giving him a “Keep talking and I’ll kick your ass all the way to Agrabah” look before smiling at Hiro and the others congregating near them.

“Hey! Everyone alright?” Sora grinned, desperately trying to remain casual.

Hiro nodded, “We’re okay. How about you two?”

“Fine.” Both boys answered at the same time, Roxas’s sounding muffled due to Sora’s hand still on his mouth.

“I have to say, blondie, you’re not half bad.” Gogo commented genuinely towards Roxas. The other members shared their own praise over the dual keyblade wielder’s fighting skills.

“Tan-mphfff” Roxas’s eyes narrowed and he quickly removed Sora’s hand, subsequently breathing out. “Thanks.” He said, “You guys aren’t bad yourselves.”

“And I see you’ve revamped your style a bit, Sora.” Gogo remarked, having been able to notice how the brunet’s fighting style changed since his last visit. Sora smiled and put his hands behind his head.

“Roxas, was it?” Honey Lemon greeted, “It’s really nice to meet you.” a friendly smile gracing her features.

“Likewise.” Roxas nodded, looking at each member of the heroic team. “Sora talks about you guys quite a bit.”

“Funny. He talked about you, too, when he first came here.” Said Hiro. The blond looked at his boyfriend surprised.

“He did?” Sora looked away blushing.

“Sorta. I know about his friend Riku, but I did also recall hearing him mention a ‘Roxas’ a few times.” The young inventor smiled.

“Really.” The blond teen was genuinely surprised to hear this. Sure, he knew how invested Sora was in bringing him back, but Roxas didn’t expect to be on the other keybearer’s mind that much during that time. Looks like he was gonna have to ask his lover about that later.

“Anyway, I take it you guys didn’t make it to the Lucky Cat Cafe, yet?” Hiro asked the pair, both boys shaking their heads. “Why don’t we all regroup there?

Everyone nodded in agreement, happy to get to a calmer setting.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The trek to the cafe didn’t take long.

Along the way, everyone was talking amongst each other, mostly catching up on how things had been with both parties while also inquiring Roxas about himself and how he met Sora. The couple wasn’t particularly keen on sharing the nitty-gritty details on that matter, so they came up with a story on the spot about how they met in school and so on. Thankfully, the gang seemed to buy it and asked no further. They seemed to be more transfixed on Roxas’s dual-wielding abilities, anyway.

The group reached their destination just as the sun was starting to set, the sky now taking on an orange and yellow tone. Roxas smiled thinking about how it felt like he was back in Twilight Town for a moment.

Though, as Hiro opened the door, a wave of sound in the form of consistent chatter came bursting out. The raven-haired boy immediately closed it, letting out a “Whoops!” and turned back to the others. “Sorry, guys, Aunt Cass has her hands full in there. We can just hang in my lab for now.” He cracked open the door to wave at someone inside before shutting it.

Everyone followed the young inventor down a small flight of stairs leading to a certain garage door. Once said door opened, the group filed into the space Hiro used as his lab.

Hiro had disappeared into another section of the lab, informing everyone that he had something for Roxas to try out.

Sora looked around. “This place hasn’t changed a bit.”

Wasabi looked perplexed, “Can’t see why it would, it’s only been a few weeks.”

“Oh, right.” The Kingdom Key user sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. He still forgot at times how the flow of time was different for other worlds.

Meanwhile, Roxas was trying to inch away from Fred who continued his eager filled inquires regarding his powers, all the while still costumed.

“Hey, Fred,” Gogo called out. “You might want to take that thing off, you’re gonna scare blondie here into cardiac arrest.”

“Oh, my.” Both Baymaxes were on high alert at the use of that particular medical term and shuffled over towards the blond-haired teen and SFIT mascot.

Roxas was about to retort how he wasn’t that freaked out when the “monster” subsequently reached for its own head.

“Oh! That’s right!” With only one tug, Fred lifted the head of his monster suit above him. Roxas yelled out and jumped back with a look of pure horror. Only for it to be reduced to bewilderment while everyone including Sora began to laugh.

He looked back at the “monster” and instead of a gory mess like he expected, he was met with the broad grin of a pale young man wearing a green cap over brown hair.

“Please excuse my rudeness, señor. It seems I neglected to reveal to you my public identity in a timely manner. Nothing personal, compadre, you never know who could be watching.” Fred shifted his blue eyes around suspiciously as if expecting a villain attack before pulling the suit head back on.

Wasabi gave Roxas an apologetic look, “He’s really into comic books and Sci-Fi movies.” he explained.

The blond’s eye twitched a bit. “I see.” Not only was Roxas embarrassed that he let himself get freaked out by some guy in a costume, he was also disgruntled for not figuring it out sooner.

Wait. Then, that meant…

Roxas shot an accusing look at his boyfriend who was innocently (TOO innocently) looking away.

“Sora…?” His tone questioning with a hint of dark promises to come. “Why didn’t you tell me?” The brunet felt a small shiver run through his body hearing that tone. He knew he’d be in for it later, but he was perfectly fine with that. Those times were one of his favorite times after all.

“I’m sorry, Roxas.” Sora spoke with only minor guilt, “But, you’re a smart guy, you would’ve figured it out eventually, I’m sure.” coupled with a cheeky grin.

Roxas twitched yet again. But before he could get a word out, the twin Baymaxes approached.

One of them patted Roxas on the head. “Your tension levels are really high, Roxas, that is not ideal for your heart rate. I would suggest some methods meant to provide relaxation and improve your emotional state.”

“For instance, a hug.” The other medbot supplied.

Sapphire eyes widened. “Oooohh, no.” Roxas waved his hands in a deterring gesture as both Baymaxes moved closer, their gigantic arms outstretched. “No, I’m good, thanks.” He assured desperately. “No, seriously-” He yelped mid-sentence as he was pulled into the arms of one of the medbots, squished against the soft rubbery surface of the abdomen.

“There, there. There, there.” The other Baymax soothed, gently patting the top of Roxas’s head.

Roxas could only groan while entrapped in the squishy confines of the embrace. “What a way to go, death by balloon man.” He remarked dryly.

Roxas could tell everyone were more than amused at this scene if the hearty laughter going around was any indication.

“Glad to know my pain’s your entertainment.” The blond deadpanned to everyone in the room.

Baymax tilted his head quizzically. “I am not certain of what type of pain you are referring to, Roxas, I do not detect any physical injuries sustained. Please inform us of what you need to soothe your pain, and we will be glad to assist.”

Roxas let out an aggravated sigh and was prepared to make a biting response, but looking up at those big black dots for eyes staring down at him caused him to lose his steam.

“I’m not in any real pain, big guys.” he sighed more calmly, “And thanks for the hug.” His lips quirked into a small smile.

Sora smiled as well, having been confident that even his cool and collected boyfriend wouldn’t have been able to resist the Baymax Hugs.

“Are you satisfied with the care we provided?” The other Baymax asked softly.

“Yes, I am.” Even with all his grouching, Roxas did feel relaxed from the hugs from the medbots.

………

“You can let go, now.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“So, this is called an AR Device?”

Roxas stared down at the headset Hiro gave him. It was similar to the one Sora had, with the exception that some parts were white instead of red.

“Yup! Unfortunately, I was only able to use the code already built into Sora’s device, so you’re gonna be dealing with the same limitations.”

“Okay…And I just need to put this on?” The blond was perplexed why some goggles that looked like they were plucked out of the Toy World were necessary for this “Shugyo” session he was going to partake in. But, Hiro was the genius here.

After slipping on the headset, Roxas found that his vision stayed relatively the same with the exception of a…...What was it called again? He heard Ienzo use it a lot…..Interface!

That’s right. Interface. It looked like the Hamada prodigy was able to build a mini-computer screen into the lens of the headset, which Roxas thought was pretty impressive.

“How’s it looking, Roxas?” Sora asked grinning, popping up in front of him wearing his own AR Device. Instead of answering, the blond let out a shout, startling the others, when he spotted what he realized was a Neoshadow standing behind his boyfriend.

“Sora, move!!!!” He quickly moved the smaller boy behind him and summoned Oathkeeper and Oblivion before getting into a fighting stance.

Sora instantly placed a hand on the blond’s shoulder. “Roxas, relax! It’s not really a Heartless!” He explained, urging his boyfriend to calm down. Roxas shot Sora an incredulous stare.

“What’d you think I am? Blind? I think I know what a Heartless looks like, Sora.” The brunet huffed and promptly swiped the headset from Roxas’s face. The blond blinked a couple of times noticing that the Heartless was gone.

“Wha…?

Only for it to come back when the device was slipped back on.

Then off.

Then on, again.

Off.

On.

Off.

On-

“Okay, Sora! I get it.” Roxas batted the other boy’s hand away before he could remove the headset again. Sora grinned putting his hands up in mock defense.

“Just making sure.”

Honey Lemon giggled. “It’s okay, Roxas, Sora had a similar reaction when he first used it.” The brunet blushed and looked away in embarrassment.

“If anything, he was more spazzy in comparison,” Gogo smirked teasingly.

“But I quickly got used to it.” Sora disputed, puffing out his cheeks. Roxas couldn’t help the small chuckle in response to his boyfriend’s childlike reaction.

“So, you just want me to fight some imaginary enemies?” Roxas asked Hiro.

“There’s more to it than that,” Hiro explained. “You and Sora are going to run through some courses I designed, simulated battles included. The headset you’re wearing will log your actions as data for me and my team to study over.” The raven-haired boy then smiled towards Sora. “Just so you know, Sora, the courses are different this time around, so both you and Roxas will be going in blind.”

“That’s okay.” Sora shared a smile with the blond, “It’s only fair we be on even footing.”

Hiro nodded. “Great! Shall we get started?”

“Now?” Wasabi slumped his broad shoulders, “We just got back from fighting two Real battles.”

“Wasabi does have a point.” Honey Lemon chimed in sheepishly, “I’m not opposed to taking a small break myself.”

“Ditto. Plus, I’m gonna need a few to re-sharpen my discs.” Added Gogo.

“Alright, alright. Two-hour water break, team. I’ll go check if the rush upstairs has phased out yet.” With that, Hiro went up a flight upstairs leaving the rest of the group to do whatever in the lab.

Meanwhile, Fred was jumping around executing some cartwheels declaring, “Crime never sleeps! A hero’s work is never done!” stopping dead in his tracks and pulled down the suit’s head. “But even heroes need bathroom breaks. en seguida regreso!” He called before running up the same stairs, suit and all.

Roxas just stared after the eccentric mascot while everyone else went about as usual, not looking even a tiny bit phased.

“Is he…... always like this?”

“Yes.” The three other human members of Big Hero 6 chorused.

“He’s really enthusiastic about his position as the school’s mascot.” Honey Lemon commented while sitting on the sofa.

“Maybe too enthusiastic,” Gogo muttered from a saw table she was seated at.

“The Mascot position does require a lot of energy.” Wasabi pointed out as he turned the page of a book he was reading. “If there’s anyone who fulfills that qualification, it’s definitely Fred.”

Roxas turned amused eyes to Sora. “Wonder who that reminds me of?” The brunet stuck out his tongue, not bothering to grace the question with a response.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Hiro’s team was preoccupied, the couple hid behind some contraption in a section farthest from everyone.

“Well?” Sora asked, smiling up at his boyfriend.

Roxas, in turn, smirked raising an eyebrow. “Well, what?”

“What’d you think?” The brunet nodded his head towards the others.

“They’re a cool bunch.” An honest answer. Despite the weirdness in the beginning, Roxas did come to like the Big Hero 6 gang well enough. “Think I made a good impression?”

The brunet slid his arms around the taller boy’s answering, “I think they already like you.”

Roxas chuckled and he wrapped his arms around Sora’s slim waist. Engrossed deeply in each other’s eyes, they leaned their heads forward. Only to be hindered due to the visors of their headsets colliding.

Both boys slightly pulled back in surprise but then quickly reduced themselves to laughter, doing their best to keep it low volume so as not to attract attention to themselves. Once they calmed down, the lovers embraced each other, more than content at that moment to feel the arms of the other around them.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Honey Lemon and Gogo had a clear view from the other side of the makeshift wall.

Honey Lemon covered her giggle at how adorable the boys were together.

Gogo had her arms crossed with a faint smile. “Knew it.” She had an inkling there was something going on between Sora and his “friend” after observing their interactions and the way they looked at each other. The boys really weren’t that subtle.

However, nothing would be said. The lovebirds were capable of doing so themselves.

The two girls then walked away leaving the couple in privacy.

Notes:

Welcome to the end of the chapter! Did you have fun? Hope you did.

As you can see, this chapter was started before the world was set to Trashfire Mode, and it's ironic how I've only finished this now when everything is still trash fire.

Some of the places mentioned in this fic were based on areas I've actually been to being a frequent visitor to the San Francisco area as well as during my trip to Japan in the last year.

That crooked street Sora and Roxas were racing in is based on Lombard Street. I can speak from experience that driving down it isn't as exciting considering you need to be at a really low speed. Apparently, people do like to drive Go-Carts down it. There have been talks about setting up a toll due to frequent traffic and tourism, but I'm not sure if that's still a concern in regards to current events.

Chuo-dori is also a street I referenced in this chapter. It was one of my favorite areas in the Ginza and the street did feel like it was stretching for miles. I was amazed at how every other street was lined with cars and pedestrians, while this one was just Pedestrian Central. It's also where I did a lot of clothes shopping.

Ghirardelli ice cream is good but pricey. I actually prefer their hot chocolate, if I'm being honest.

That exchange Sora and Roxas had over warpholes was my experience navigating around the Gummi Map in Kingdom Hearts 1. Seven year old me was playing, so I had No idea where I was going and if one warphole lead to Monstro or back to Traverse Town.

Was kinda nervous about writing the Big Hero 6 team, not gonna lie. But, I do my best. Fred's Spanish is something I took from the show, even though he was implied to know Spanish in the movie. (Or know some since he was mixing up Spanish with French)

Anyways, thanks again for reading.

Stay safe and I'll see you in the next chapter.
