After what may possibly have been the most traumatizing event in Shinsou's entire life, he meets Midoriya Izuku by a hidden shrine in the woods. The only problem—besides the way his life is spiraling out of control—is that his new friend is a ghost who seems to get all his kicks out of riling Shinsou up.

I've been thinking about this one a lot lately. It was so unlike what I expected based on necroesthe's original tags, though my tags ruin a bit of that I suppose... but I don't feel bad because I've been waiting to make an Accidental Serial Killer Shinsou Hitoshi tag for SO LONG you don't even KNOW KSJYGDJFG
The title was taken from an explicit song called Softly The Seas Swallows the Sun by Scissors For Lefty(There's your content warning so heed it). Copy-pasted from necroesthe's A/Ns: [I originally thought of Shinsou when I first heard it but as I started writing this fic and listened it more, I began to question past me. But oh well, here we are now.]

Despite it being incredibly annoying to hear, “Don’t talk to strangers!” by his mom every time he went out the house his entire life, Shinsou understood the reason for it. His parent were a tad overprotective and paranoid of their only son—who was blessed with one of the most unfortunate combinations of a persuasion and a mind reading quirk—getting kidnapped.
But Shinsou figured if he were to get kidnapped, he could simply order said kidnapper to stop kidnapping him. Or something. Shinsou didn’t really care for the specifics as long as he got the point across.
Shinsou’s foot slips on the mud. He swears loudly. His hands grab the closest structure, being the wall of the well, and he tries to pull himself back up. The footsteps get get louder and louder, and earth beneath his feet grew softer and more slippery. Shinsou falls to his knees and bangs his head against the wall of the well.
ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ I find myself having an awful lot to say about this particular work but since I rambled a bit in the opening A/N I'll keep this simple-ish. I purposefully didn't go hard on the terror-induced reading during this chapter because for me this fic is kind of more of a lighter-toned one. At least I'm just so tickled by the idea of Accidental Serial Killer Shinsou Hitoshi that I can't get too serious/afraid of what's happening, and I intended for this to be experienced in that same slightly jesting manner. It could easily be heavy content but I largely want to focus on it being accessible rather than freaky. ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
