Chapter Text

Kimihiro grumbled as he struggled to carry the tray of tea and cups without dropping anything. He couldn’t wait till he would be allowed some time off. He eventually came into the room where his boss Yuko was listening to a troubled couple.

“They used to be cheerful and outgoing...but lately they seem more withdrawn and jumpy…” Hideki Motosuwa frowned. “I know you told us to have them study under that Mage...but I worry maybe it's too much for them.”

“Chi is worried too..Chi wants boys to be happy..” Chi, a humanoid creature frowned worriedly as she leaned into her lover. Watanuki couldn’t help but wonder just what this Chi was...she certainly wasn’t human..

“I told you both that if I were to help you two build a family that it would be costly.” Yuko reminded as Watanuki came over and set the tea down and started to pour. “I also said that if you wanted your children to have a chance to thrive they would need some protection. You didn’t listen for the longest time..”

“I Know..when we came to you 16 years ago asking for help..we were and are still really thankful for the twins..but...“

“Chi and Hideki just want Fai and Yuui to be okay” Chi finished fiddling with her dress. “Chi...is not good at many things...but Chi is trying Chi’s best to protect them..”

“You know..you can’t fight against Fate “ Yuko sighed, setting her cup down. “Fai and Yuui came from a very old and fragile artifact...An artifact that one of your boys accidentally broke but still very much broke.” She said as she took the ancient camera that had a broken lens. She examined it.

“Is it fixable?” Hideki asked hopefully.

“They have been so sick since then...Chi wants them to be okay”

“I am not sure..but I think I may know of a way to maybe help..” Yuko hmed. “It isn’t a 100 percent guarantee to save them both though. The Price might be more then you would be willing to pay.” Yuko warned.

“We don’t care, we just want them to not be sick anymore...will they still be sick if we do whatever it is?” Hideki asked hopefully.
“You won’t be able to do anything. The boys will. This Camera came from an abandoned village...the two of them must go there and face their destiny. IF they can conquer it..I Promise Your boys won't be sick anymore.”

“WHere is this village…? We will take them there now.” Hideki asked eagerly.

“Oh you won’t be taking them. He will” Yuko pointed to Watanuki.

“I will what?” Kimihiro Watanuki asked, surprised.

“Thank you so much kid” Hideki smiled, pulling the surprised boy close. “I am counting on you.” he grinned as Chi also gave him a hug making Watanuki’s face turn beet red as his face was nearly suffocated by Chi’s chest.

“Miss..please” Watanuki protested, trying to push her away, flailing.

”Don't be a pervert Watanuki and go get packed.” Yuko waved dismissively.

“I Never agreed to any of this!” Watanuki protested.

A day later Kimihiro groaned as he waited on a dirt road next to Shizuka Doumeki. “This was supposed to be my day off..WHy do i have to go..I have never even been to this place before..” he complained.

“It isn’t all bad.” Doumeki replied flatly as he shouldered his own bag. “At least it’s supposed to be an easy job. We just take these two to some village right?”

“It is never that easy..Something terrible is going to happen, I just know it.”Watanuki shivered. “The whole thing is fishy..if you ask me..Why can’t they know anything for instance.. I mean what are we supposed to tell them? That its a fun school trip”

“I wouldn’t want to know that my mom is a robot and my dad went to a witch to help them conceive.” Doumeki shrugged.

“Yea...that was a real shock right there..” Watanuki hmed. “I didn’t even know we had that kind of technology.”

“Pretty sure we don’t..They must be from another world” Doumeki said surely.
“Either way while we are waiting..How about you answer that question I asked you the other day..You know the one I asked before you punched me and then ran away.”

“Oh..yea..i did punch you..” he recalled nervously. “Listen..I still need time to think it over..You can’t just ask me something like that..without warning..”

“How am I supposed to warn you before I ask you something like that?” Doumeki asked dryly. “At least your punches are weak” He sighed.

Watanuki scowled at those words about to chew him out again only to be interrupted by a bright light near them. “Looks like they are here”

“Told you they were from another world,” Doumeki said smugly.

“I never said you were wrong, you know,” Watanuki snapped only for his eyes to widen as a pair of blond twins appeared before them holding hands.

“Fai?” Watanuki asked, surprised. The two looked just like Fai D Flowright. The mage who traveled with that one group from world to world.

The two were even dressed like the Fai He knew with the exception being one was dressed in black while the other more cheerful one was dressed in white like the original Fai.

The twins glanced at each other silently before glancing back at the other two.

“How do you know my name?” The more melancholy one dressed in black asked confused. “Have we met?”

“Uh...No..i suppose not.” Watanuki frowned. “I uh...was just waiting for you two and making sure you were you know...you” He quickly corrected himself. They must be an alternate version of him..still he never knew Fai was a twin.

“OH..I see. My name is Yuui and this is as you mentioned Fai. We are the Motosuwa twins.” The more cheerful one introduced with a smile giving a pleasant bow.

“Do..we really have to do this?” Fai asked quietly. “Can’t we go back..?”

Fai kept his smile on, barely turning to his twin. “You heard Father..we have to do this. We need to go there to give them a break and also it isn’t so bad going on a vacation.”

“Vacation..?” Watanuki asked, confused.

“That is what our dad said..that we are going on a trip to some village in another world for sight seeing right?” Fai asked, eyeing them curiously.

“Right...Vacation...Sightseeing” Kimihiro nodded with a sigh. “Anyway My name is Kimihiro Watanuki and this is Shizuka Doumeki..I guess we are both around the same age..So let’s get along” he smiled.

“Yo” Shizuka nodded.

“Well lead the way cutie” Yuui flirted.

Watanuki winced..Yuui was more like his Fai than the other Fai was. Doumeki scowled at the flirting and pulled Watanuki closer.

Chapter Text

Kimihiro sighed as he fixed his glasses. He leaned against a tree as he tried to figure out the map. “I told you we should have asked for directions earlier.” Doumeki replied bluntly.

“And I told you that we should have not trusted the shady taxi driver that left us in the middle of nowhere earlier but here we are” Kimihiro snapped.

“Wow you two get along so well.” Yuui grinned, clasping his hands together pleased.

“We do not,” Kimihiro snapped.

“You sure? You remind me of an old couple. Are you sure you two aren’t together?” Yuui asked, amused.

“Not yet but I did ask him a few days ago. He just hasn’t answered yet.” Shizuka Doumeki said flatly. “He freaked out and ran away”

“Answering….such a question is a lot of pressure” Fai frowned from his spot behind his twin. “I couldn’t imagine what I would say if someone said they liked me…”

“Oh you would probably faint,” Yuui teased, only to frown when he sensed someone nearby. Fai noticed as well and turned to look in the same direction.

“Is..everything okay?” Doumeki asked the twins, noticing their looks.

“I thought I heard something nearby,” Yuui informed, looking around curiously. “A powerful Dragon” He hummed

“Dragon..what?” Watanuki frowned, hiding behind Doumeki. “Don’t joke, those aren’t real..”

“He doesn’t mean a real dragon..” Fai assured looking around in distaste.

Watanuki looked around unsure only to jump when he heard someone nearby step on a twig. Doumeki glanced in that direction and narrowed his eyes. A few moment’s later a Tall tanned man with red eyes stepped out looking annoyed. In the young man’s hand was a kendo stick.

“What are you guys all doing here?” He asked, annoyed. “No one is allowed out here”

“Sorry we got lost..” Watanuki tried to explain. “We..were looking for Minakami VIllage.”

The new young man narrowed his red eyes. “What do you want with All God’s Village?”

“IS that what it's called?” Watanuki asked curiously. “I was told by my boss to head there with these two” He gestured to the twins.

The man glanced at the twins only to look more agitated. “Twins...that is the last thing that we need.” he grumbled. “Talk about bad luck.”

“I am sorry..what?” Watanuki asked, confused. Just what was Yuuko getting him into?

“That Village is cursed. No one enters that village and leaves.” the teen replied.

“Cursed?” Fai stuttered as Yuui stepped in front of his brother, crossing his arms unimpressed.

“OH really and who may I ask are you and why should we believe you?” Yuui asked, looking him over amused.

“My name is Kurogane and I am telling you because I know a priestess that lives nearby and she has been trying to purify this place for a long time. I have seen people enter and never leave. That place is especially deadly for twins” He informed sternly.

“Oh really i'm so touched that you care Kuropu..but i am sure we will be fine.” Yuui said, amused.

“..I don’t know...maybe we should go back…” Fai frowned.

“How? We can’t go back home without going..Mom and dad won't let us back...We have nowhere else to go.” Yuui reminded. “Dad said we need to do this.”

“I don’t care what your dad said. You are not going any further” Kurogane barked. “And don’t call me Kuropu. I told you my name is KURO-GANE” He reminded annoyed.

“I am sorry we really have no choice..I promised my boss..” Watanuki protested.

“Mn..Besides it is not like we haven’t faced ghosts or curses before. “ Doumeki added.

“Oh...I see you guys are one of those fake ghost hunters looking to make a quick buck,” Kurogane accused.

The three bickered amongst themselves not noticing a sudden Change in the twins. A few red butterflies flew by seemingly mesmerizing the twins as their blue eyes seemed to go blank. They turned and followed the butterflies in a trance.

“I am telling you twins can’t enter that place. Twins used to be sacrificed there.” Kurogane informed. “I saw a pair of twins enter only two years ago. A girl and a guy and neither of them came out again. DO you know what they used to have them do? Murder each other” Kurogane informed narrowly. “I promised Tomoyo I wouldn't let another pair get hurt.”

“Maybe we should go for now..it isn’t like we can find the village anyway” Watanuki frowned before finally noticing the twins weren’t in sight. “Wait..where did the twins go?”
