Work Text:
There had been rumors that a new guardian angel would be joining them. There was also a rumor that the guardian angel was a human killer, and that he had killed two under his guard. This angel would be marked by a distinctive silver aura, unlike the normal gold feathers and auras that other angels had.
The first time that Magnus saw the new guardian angel however, was the day that an angel with bright blue eyes and silvery wings winked into existence next to him, informing him that he was assigned by Ragnor.
"Oh, so you are the human killer?!" Magnus snapped at him, noting the silver aura.
Magnus! -his superior admonished him.
"What? Cat, I'm just stating the truth, it's what I heard," Magnus replied. He knew that she heard him as he added, "Is it true that he killed two humans?"
"Look, I just want to do my job," Alec spat out, and moved over to the area that his supervisor, Ragnor instructed.
Alec saw a guy wearing glasses, and Ragnor confirmed that this was his human.
However, because it was a masquerade ball, Alec lost sight of his charge in the crowd of beautifully dressed dancers, and it took some time to find him again.
He stayed close not wanting to lose him again, when Alec suddenly noticed another human approaching, and what would you know, he belonged to the mean angel that Alec had met earlier.
"Can I have this dance?" the blonde hair man asked, holding out his hand confidently.
Alec whispered in his human’s ear, 'play hard to get, I mean, I'm sure that he has a line of girls waiting for him.’
"Are you talking to me? I'm Simon, by the way," he smiled, hiding behind his mask. Normally he wouldn’t dare talk to anyone so handsome, but his mask gave him confidence.
"I'm Jace," the blonde man introduced himself.
'Jace?' Alec repeated in a confused voice, looking around anxiously.
‘Later, Alec, now is not the time.’ -Cat’s voice murmured insistently.
Simon shook the man's hand, "A beautiful man like you, probably has lines of girls waiting for you."
“I don’t see them here. Do you see any girls waiting for me?” Jace asked Simon, trying to reassure him. Damn, this man looked beautiful even though he wore a mask.
“I’m sure that they’ll come after you, the moment I walk away,” Simon answered forlornly, certain that he was Jace’s second choice.
“I only have eyes for you, Simon,” Jace told him, and then he asked again, “Would you have a dance with me?”
Simon bites his lip before he bravely reaches out and takes Jace’ hand, letting him lead him to the dance floor.
It wasn’t that bad, you are very talented, Alec, -Catarina encouraged Alec.
“Oh, please! He almost left Simon without a date,” Magnus snarled at him, and added, “I’m sure that if he had a chance, he would probably kill my human in the dance as well.”
Magnus, enough! -Catarina called and Magnus could see her golden wings changed to black in warning.
You did a good job, Alec, are you ready for your next human? - Ragnor asked Alec, totally ignoring Magnus’ snarl and hateful words.
The work of guardian angel never stops, and you are doing a great job. -Ragnor assured him, as he saw the hesitation on his face.
“I can do it,” Alec replied, not wanting to work with Magnus, but not wanting to disappoint his mentor either.
Very well, just try not to kill each other-Ragnor told him softly, nodding at Catarina, his second in command to take over.
Well my lovelies, I’m joining both of you for the ride! Let’s bring more love to the human world-. Catarina said smiling, as she tried to make Alec more comfortable. She would also there to be frown at Magnus to behave, if he started yelling at the new angel again.
They materialized in a bar, and Alec had been assigned to a red-hair girl. Two other girls were coming closer, one assigned to Magnus and Catarina respectively.
“We saw that you were alone in the bar and we were wondering, if you would like to dance with us,” the girl that Catarina was assigned, asked Alec’s human.
Alec whispered positive directions in her ear, since the girls all seemed to be on the same page, and they looked fun.
“My name is Clary, what’s yours?” his red head asked, listening to the voice.
“I’m Maia,” said the girl that was Catarina’s, as the other girl with the black long hair replied, “I’m Isabelle, but you can call me, Izzy,”
Alec glared at Magnus, not knowing why he was torturing him. First Jace and now Izzy. What the heck?!
Alec, not now! -Catarina warned him, as they were still on the mission.
“Would you like to take a dance with us?” Izzy asked her. The red-hair girl was so beautiful to her eyes, and she knew that Maia felt the same. They were a power couple, and always wanted to add another girl to their relationship.
“I would love to,” Clary replied, as she took Izzy’s hand and Maia wrapped an excited arm around her waist.
The trio dance in a seductive manner, teasing each other, not minding the other people looking at them on the floor, as they danced.
They were tres fabulous. Let them look!
Well that was fun!-. Catarina concluded joyfully, before turning to Alec. –A word.
Alec rolled his eyes when Magnus looked happy that he was leaving.
“It’s about time! Are you going to transfer him to Hell so they could burn his rotten soul?” Magnus mocked Alec.
Alec slumped in defeat as he followed Catarina, figuring that maybe Magnus was right. He didn’t know why he was chosen for the guardian angel job anyway. He was, using Magnus’ hateful words, a human killer.
Days later, Ragnor, inspired by the masquerade ball that had been Alec’s first assignment, decided to organize one for the angels under his charge. The head angel hoped that they would mingle and be more jolly, because ever since the arrival of Alec, he could see some hateful looks directed at the new angel, and even some of angels used verbal violence, not understanding why he was with them. Ragnor dearly wished to know who was the one that spread the bad rumors, because they couldn’t be more wrong.
Try not to look at each other’s aura! Have some fun by getting to know each other in disguise- Ragnor’s firm voice was heard through the event ball, as he watched it along with Catarina.
However, Magnus did try to see if the silver aura was anywhere in the room, relieved to observe the man was absent. Magnus couldn’t help it as he shouted through the hall, even knowing that it might reach Ragnor and Catarina, “WE CAN DANCE FREELY! THE HUMAN KILLER IS PROBABLY IN HELL!”
They all cheered, but Ragnor and Catarina were not pleased with Magnus, no, not at all.
The head angels did notice that Alec was not in the masquerade like the rest of the angels. Catarina left to find him, hoping to encourage him to join the celebration.
Since Alec joined, she could see how his mood became darker and he spent less and less time with the other angels. Sadly, he preferred to spend it alone and away from them.
She found him outside, sitting on a bench with his mask lying beside him on the seat. The angel was crying, as he viewed the tombstones of his loved ones through a magical bubble. He wanted to be there with them!
Alec -she called softly- are you okay?
“I will be fine, Catarina,” Alec replied wiping his eyes, “Did Ragnor received my transfer? Was it accepted?”
Transfer? I did not know that you sent him something. He didn’t tell me anything. Are you sure that you want to transfer? Catarina asked carefully, wondering what was going on. She had to talk to Ragnor immediately, and persuade him otherwise if this was his intent.
In the meantime, Alec nodded, as he stared at the tombstones, mumbling that he would join them soon. His body was already in the grave next to them, and his soul should burn in hell. Magnus was right, he didn’t deserve to go on as one of the blessed angels.
Catarina watched him in despair as she hurried to find Ragnor. This was horrible; they needed to save him from this transfer!
Ragnor, can we speak?- Catarina asked, as he vigilantly watched the guardian angels dancing with each other in the ball.
Sure. What’s wrong?- Ragnor asked, noticing her concerned face. He knew that she was outside with Alec, but he didn’t know why she was so worried. What had happened?
They entered the head angel’s office and Catarina quickly found the file.
Tell me that you didn’t transfer him?-Catarina asked, as she handed him the file.
Transfer?!- he barked in surprise, reading the document- Why would I transfer him in the first place? He didn’t do anything wrong, but I do wish to strangle the angel that spread the rumors about him in the first place!
‘Then I think that it’s time you had a talk with Magnus,’ Catarina suggested looking grim,-’he has been taking the lead in this campaign against Alec, although he admitted to me that it was because he was afraid that Alec would harm someone else.’’
I will do that- Ragnor thanked her and left, eager to find some answers.
Magnus was just making his way over to Dot to ask her for the next dance, when Ragnor materialized at his side.
Magnus, a word.-Ragnor requested.
The guardian angel cheekily ignored him and spun Dot around in an enthusiastic circle.
Now! -Ragnor hissed furiously, not in the mood for the angel’s infamous antics.
“I will be dancing with you soon, darling,” Magnus blew her a playful kiss, as he followed Ragnor, not knowing why his Head looked so furious and why more importantly, he was disturbing him in the middle of the dance!
Step into my office, Magnus. -Ragnor told him.
Catarina glared at him as they walked in, and handed him a file. -read it!
“So? It’s good news! Is that why you called me here?” Magnus asked them, a huge relieved smile spreading on his face, as he noticed the name on the file, and the request for transfer.
Stop smiling, Magnus. You have created a mess! We would like to know from whom you heard the rumors about Alec, because the rumors are incorrect!- Ragnor scolded him, ‘I won’t transfer Alec away from us, not at any price! Not when he has the purest, rarest of angel aura’s!
“How is silver rarer than gold?” Magnus asked in astonishment. ‘That is preposterous!’
If Jace was gold, catching the light and the attention, Alec was silver: so used to everyone else looking at Jace that that was where he looked too, so used to living in Jace's shadow that he didn't expect to be seen. –Ragnor chided him- And how can you still look with mortal eyes and perceptions? In this heavenly plane, silver has always been a rarer metal than gold.
“Wait, that name – Jace, why does it sound so familiar?” Magnus suddenly asked, a little confused and worried by all this new information.
Oh well that is part of the true story about Alec-. Ragnor replied- not all this rubbish you heard.
Magnus stared, not knowing why they were so discreet and protective of Alec. The guardian angel is evil; the other angels even warned him that Alec would probably kill him as well for mouthing off at him!
“What’s the truth, then? Did he also kill an angel?” Magnus asked anxiously, as he looked at the two head angels.
He didn’t kill anyone! You need to get that nasty rumor out of your system- Catarina scolded him. She was so mad right now. The best angel wanted to be sent to hell to destroy his pure soul, just because other guardian angels pictured him as a monster.
Catarina is right, Magnus, Alec didn’t do anything !- Ragnor growled at him.-He tried to save the humans that he was asked to guard, even though they killed his family and him, when Alec was human .
“They killed Alec?!” Magnus shrieked in horror.
Come see for yourself- Catarina beckoned to the angel- see the truth Magnus, with your own eyes.
Magnus hurriedly followed Ragnor and Catarina over the edge of heaven, and Ragnor rubbed his hand over the wall. They could now see the cemetery, and Catarina pointed to the Lightwood tombstone, and then Magnus remembered.
He had guarded two humans with the same names as the man’s siblings!
No wonder Alec was so angry and in so much pain during mission. It made so much sense now. Magnus knew he should not question the design of God, but why? Perhaps a little of his brother and sister’s soul had been placed in these two new humans, and Alec had been drawn to them, like a moth to the flame?
In any case, it didn’t negate the fact that Magnus had been wrong. Why was he so quick to believe those rumors? Had he been placed under a spell? It suddenly made no sense, at all.
Yes, Magnus - Ragnor confirmed- The whole family was murdered by Valentine and Jonathan Morgenstern. And even worse, Alec died last, he was watching his family murdered in front of his eyes.
Magnus fell quiet.
The story of Alec’s death was horrible, and it explained why he was so cold and sad all the time. And then Alec had to guard those animals, who murdered him?!
Magnus dropped into a seat.
Now you will tell me who you heard these rumors from- Ragnor commanded. No one was even supposed to know about the Morgensterns and that mission had been confidential.
“Look, I don’t remember who spread the rumors,” Magnus replied, his heart sick with his role in this affair, “So, Alec failed in his mission, and was not the one that killed the Morgensterns?”
No he was not- Ragnor said firmly- Once Alec died, he was brought to heaven immediately as a guardian angel. I think God saw something special to him, if not his aura would be gold like you and the rest of the angels. Alec’s aura is silver, pure and rare. God commanded him to guard two humans at the same time, and those humans were his killers and his family’s killers. I can’t imagine how difficult that request was, but he did as he was asked.
Do you know what it takes from a guardian angel to guard two humans at the same time, when one of them is on the other side of the world? Catarina asked Magnus rhetorically. ‘No, and you know why? Alec is the only angel who has ever been commanded to do so.’
‘What happened?’ Magnus raised his head, ‘how did the humans die?’
An assassin took out one,- Ragnor told him, taking the seat opposite, suddenly feeling tired- as soon as Alec realized he tried to get to the younger one, but it was too late. He was also killed. Alec tried his best to do his duty, to help those who had murdered him, but he failed. God saw it all and didn’t banish him.
The little groups in the office fell quiet thinking.
Ragnor cared a lot for Alec, and didn’t want him to go hell. No angel could exist there. His soul would be consumed, and he would return to the plane of death. But perhaps that is what he wanted. Anything had to be better than the way he was being treated here.
“This is all fucked up,” Magnus blurted out.
Language. -Ragnor warned him, as they walked back to the office.
“Sorry,” Magnus apologized, before pointing over to the transfer file, “What are you going to do about that?”
Obviously, we are not going to approve it!- Ragnor snorted, staring at the letter in concern. He would talk to Alec after the ball and try to resolve this dreadful situation-“But the real question is, since you now know the truth about Alec, what are you going to do?”
“Where is he anyway? I didn’t see him in the masquerade ball,” Magnus asked.
The way that you treated him, did you really think he would feel welcome? You told him, it would be best if his soul rotted and burned in Hell. You and your friends pushed the poor angel to the edge!- Catarina exclaimed in anger. ‘I didn’t expect that of you, to be honest’.
“I messed up, I know. I need to fix it,” Magnus told her, and then he looked at Ragnor, “But how would I have known what happened to him? All I knew was the rumors.”
“And rumors are not facts,’ Ragnor countered sternly,’ let this be a lesson to you. Next time, you may find yourself falling flat on your arse, and we will not help you, as how we have done today. Alec is God’s chosen angel, just as you are, and that is all that anyone needs to know.’
“Where could I find him?” Magnus asked, worried now about the angel and how he had hurt him.
I’ll show you. -Catarina replied, waving at him to follow.
It pained Magnus to realise the two head angels were staring at him intently, obviously afraid he was going to hurt Alec again. He gave them a reassuring wave, and finally the duo left Magnus alone, and returned to the masquerade.
Magnus took his mask off and went to sit next to Alec. Alec sat staring at the clouds, lost in thought, as lonely tears ran down his cheeks.
‘Hello?’’ Magnus said softly, making Alec jump in surprise, “can I sit here?’
Alec stared at him as though he had suddenly grown an extra head.
‘Look,’ Magnus began, taking a seat and trying not to react to the way Alec curled his silver wings around him, as if anticipating a blow. ‘I want to say that I’m sorry for the way that I treated you ever since you came. It was wrong. Please say you will forgive me, and let me dance with you, at the ball.’
Alec was dumbstruck.
He wanted to dance with him?! Why? Was this a joke?
“Are you sure that you want to dance with me? Aren’t you afraid of what your friends might say?” Alec asked crossly, feeling tired and out of sorts. He would love to dance, and the music sounded so beautiful, but he didn’t understand Magnus’ change of heart.
“I don’t care what they are going to say!” Magnus said emphatically “I want to dance with you. Please dance with me.”
Magnus held out Alec’s discarded mask to him encouragingly. “Come on. Put your mask on. Let’s show these angels how to dance!”
Alec sighed heavily as he took the mask, noting Magnus’ smiling face. One last dance might be nice, and it would be good leave on a positive note. He didn’t know what caused this change in Magnus, but it was a blessing to have at least one angel who didn’t hate him for his failures.
They entered the hall, and every eyeball swivelled in their direction. Fortunately, the music continued, and Magnus pulled him into his arms.
Alec tried to ignore the whole whispering and laughing as they danced together, because he was enjoying himself. Magnus was a great dancer, and he led him with gentle touches of his hands. Alec finally closed his eyes and smiled faintly, feeling free in a way he hadn’t felt in a long time. He did not realize he had started to glow with the shift in his mood, but Catarina and Ragnor did. The head angels could not have been more pleased! They smiled at Magnus approvingly as the two angels sailed pass them, in a happy twirl.
“Magnus, why are you dancing with the human killer?” a voice rang out from the crowd. Alec and Magnus stumbled to a halt. Alec sighed sadly; he knew it was too good to last.
“He is not a human killer!” Magnus protested fiercely, his eyes locked on Alec’s surprised face.
“Really? What changed?” another voice asked.
“Is it because of what Ragnor and Catarina told you?!” the first voice asked.
Alec glared at Magnus suspiciously. Was that it? Did the head angels command him to play nice? Was dancing with him a punishment?! He threw his mask on the floor and it fell with a clunking sound, as the angel ran away from the ball.
‘Come back, Alec!’ Magnus called in distress, running after him. This was all his fault. Oh why did he help spread those dreadful rumors?
In the meantime, Ragnor was so annoyed and disappointed in his angels that he clapped his hands, and all the lights and music switched off.
The ball was over!
Later, Catarina entered Ragnor’s office with another file.
We have a problem- she said- Alec sent in a new file of transfer and now God is displeased, of course. He wants to know why his favored creation desires death.
Ragnor rubbed his forehead. He knew this would happen.
Outside, the news spread and the pair could hear the cheers from the angels as they heard about the transfer.
Catarina materialized in their midst, sparks of angry lights, flashing from her eyes. Ragnor however, followed at a more sedate pace.
Silence, you fools! God demands answers – Catarina glared at the angels who cheered earlier. Those assembled sucked in a big breath of horror. The Big Boss was upset- He wants to know why in the name of all that is HOLY, his favoured angel wishes to go to hell.
I also want answers- Ragnor now spoke, and Catarina stepped aside to let him take over-let’s the start with the simple question, shall we? Who started this vicious rumor!
The angels looked at each other uncertainly, but no one spoke.
Ragnor was furious. He hadn’t wanted this to reach God in the first place, hoping they could settle it in their circle of angels. But of course HE knew, in that all knowing way of his. HIS favored angel was hurt, and wanted to leave his service. Those who had caused such a horrible situation must confess what they had done.
Okay, the culprit is not brave enough to come forward. Not unexpected, I suppose. It was a cowardly act- Ragnor hissed,-Each and everyone of you will go to Catarina’s office, and you will tell her who you heard the rumor from. We will piece it together from the information. In the meantime, I will try to fix the bridge between Alec and God. If you want to save yourselves, and continue to do what you were to meant to do, speak truthfully. That is of course if God does not plan to banish you all for how you hurt Alexander!
“Ragnor, I want to help,” Magnus called to the head angel, stepping forward. He hadn’t been able to find Alec, and he felt awful about his role in all of this.
I need to locate Alec first, Ragnor advised him,-but if you want to help, just be there, don’t even make a sound.
“Of course, I will do whatever is needed,” Magnus replied.
Ragnor and Magnus left the others lined up outside Catarina’s office, while he went to find their missing angel. Ragnor believed that if they could find those who had spread the rumors, and brought them forward that this would please God. Hopefully, this will also prevent the rest of them from being banished. In the meantime, he would concentrate on caring for the broken angel. And broken he was, as they spotted Alec lying on the grass, crying desperately and whispering to his dead siblings that he would join them soon.
Alec, I would like to have a word with you, -Ragnor called softly, wanting to hold him close and comfort him, but too afraid that he would run away again.
“Have you accepted my transfer?” Alec sniffed pathetically, as he turned around to look at the head angel. “Please, I just want to go”
Can I show you something first, and then we can talk about the transfer? Ragnor said gently, as he helped him stand.
Alec suddenly noticed Magnus behind Ragnor but he didn’t acknowledge him. He was too scared that Magnus had changed his mind again. He had so enjoyed dancing with the other angel. Magnus had such a nice smile, which he never got a chance to see before of course, because Magnus never smiled at him. Alec had felt so special to be dancing with the most popular, most handsome angel in the group, who could have anyone he wanted. It would be horrible if Magnus turned against him again. Their dancing together had been the one bright spark in his time here, and he wanted to cherish the memory.
Ragnor bowed his head to hide his smirk, as he noticed the way Alec was stealing little looks at Magnus. Well this was unexpected, but not unwelcome. Magnus could use a little grounding his life.
“Alec, I just want to say again, how sorry I am about all this,” Magnus pleaded. His face fell, when Alec turned away from him with an indignant huff, raising one of his beautiful wings to cut him off from sight.
“What did you want to show me, Ragnor?” Alec asked firmly, trying to reign in how happy he felt that Magnus apologized again, but he couldn’t believe it just yet. Magnus had hurt him so badly.
Look here-Ragnor said as a large bubble appeared, and the angels saw Simon and Jace in a bedroom.
Jace lay on the bed with Simon on top of him, kissing him with passion as his cock slipped between Jace’s legs.
He moaned Simon’s name over and over, as the other man seem to know which sensitive parts of his body to touch and to lick, leaving Jace out of breath.
“Jace…” Simon moaned his name as he thrust harder and deeper inside of him. Simon would never let him go.
“You are so beautiful, Jace, and you chose me…” Simon told him between thrusts and kissing, making sure to mark his neck and chest, everywhere, so everyone would know that Jace belonged to him.
“Si… Simon…” Jace moaned, his whole body trembling with pleasure as the other man hit his sensitive spot over and over.
Simon kissed him again but as feet his body vibrate, he knew that he is going to cum and he needs to pull out of his lover.
“Cum into me,” Jace told him eagerly, trapping him in his arms.
“Are you sure?” Simon asked, his hand softly caressing Jace’s face.
“I’m sure, you feel so good inside of me… God, it’s so good,” Jace replied, arching his back to change the angle slightly.
Simon cried out with pleasure as he came inside of him, then he just keep kissing the other man, helping Jace to come as well.
Jace sighed heavily as Simon lay his head on his chest, inhaling his scent as he closed his eyes.
“I’m lucky to have you, Jace,” Simon said, snuggling closer to the man.
“Me too,” Jace said whispered in a sleepy voice as Simon spooned him.
You brought them love. Alec you are the one that cause it to happen-. Ragnor told Alec as fresh tears sparkled on Alec’s cheeks.
“Is Jace happy, truly?” Alec asked Ragnor, his blue eyes glued to the bubble, enjoying seeing Simon taking care of Jace. Magnus in the meantime beamed at the change in Alec’s mood. This was a good idea.
He is. Jace is happy. Ragnor confirmed. Look, I have another one to show you.
The scene shifted and they were looking at another room with a bigger bed.
Izzy lay on the bed. Clary was on the top of her, kissing her while Maia poked at Clary’s vagina with her with her tongue and finger.
“She’s so good,” Izzy mumbled between the kisses, and Maia hummed in agreement, between licking and teasing Clary with her tongue.
Maia pushed one finger inside of Clary’s, spanking her tight bum lightly, as she mumbled words of love toward her and Izzy. She soon added another finger, fucking Clary enthusiastically, loving to hear the woman moaning with pleasure while Izzy kissed and played with her nipples.
“Oh God,” Clary cried aloud, damn, Maia definitely knew how to fuck with her fingers. “Stop teasing me, Maia. Your other half is driving me crazy… fuck me already!”
Izzy in the meantime took an object that was on the nightstand, and put some lube on it before she move it between her legs and pushed it inside of her.
Maia removed her fingers and guided Clary to sit over the other side of the dildo, while it moved in and out in her girlfriend’ vagina.
Maia enjoyed seeing them both enjoying the double head dildo, while she sat on Izzy’s face.
Who knew that adding a third member would bring so much fun to their relationship? Clary was definitely a great choice. She also seemed very caring and smart too!
“Isabella looks happy,” Alec said. He turned to Magnus excitedly, ‘my sibling’s souls live on in these new bodies!’
After getting over his surprise that Alec spoke to him, he smiled at the explanation. It was as he suspected. He was happy for Alec.
They are happy, and you should be happy too-Ragnor pressed, gently squeezing Alec’s shoulder.
“How can I be happy? I am so alone and unwanted. Everyone hates me,’ Alec replied, pulling away.
Rumors clouded their judgement- Ragnor explained- Everyone would love you, once they know the truth and we find the source of these rumors. We will help.
“Ragnor is right, Alec,” Magnus added, as he walked closer, “I know that I failed to see “you”, because all I heard were rumors and I was afraid. We are so fortunate that such a pure soul was selected for our group. Please don’t transfer away.’
Alec raised his head to look at the other angel with wonder in his blue eyes. Alec knew that he wasn’t pure. The humans he been assigned, had been assassinated. In his mind, he really wondered if he tried hard enough, considering the Morgensterns had murdered his family.
Alec, don’t go there- Ragnor said soothingly, placing his hand on his arm to comfort the angel. Sometimes, Ragnor wished not to know what his angels were thinking, because it gave him an enormous headache. But knowing what Alec was thinking especially now, opening this special channel to reach the angel, helped Ragnor to understand him. ‘I believe in you, even if you don’t believe in yourself.
“Me too!” Magnus chimed happily.
Alec glared at him, but then huffed, amused at Magnus’ exuberance. The angel was practically bouncing on his toes in excitement.
Ragnor sensed Catarina calling to him in his mind. My goodness, she had found the culprit, and God had also come to hear this news.
The head angel snapped his fingers and a solitary flute played a gentle melody.-I have a matter that I need to deal with that I can’t delay. Why don’t you two have another dance in the empty ballroom? You can enjoy the quiet and just get to know each other.
“Don’t leave me with him!” Alec cried, walking after his mentor, feeling nervous to be alone with the other angel. “I broke my mask; beside I don’t think that Magnus wants to dance with me. I’m sure that he would prefer someone else”
Here, I have fixed it, Ragnor replied, holding out the mended mask,- now go, have some fun.
Ragnor chuckled as Magnus stubbornly walked after Alec, even as the young angel tried to run away again, confused by how Magnus was making him feel. The two of them were rather adorable, and he hoped things would work out favourably for them.
Turning his mind to less pleasant matters, he vanished and materialized in his office, frowning heavily at Victor Aldertree, one of his other angels on his knees. Ragnor could also feel God’ presence around the office, and he bowed respectfully.
He was the one who had been spreading the rumors about Alec, but I don’t understand why- Catarina said, trying to understand his motives.
It was a test- God said- a test to understand Victor’s true heart. I had hoped he would choose differently, but he did not. Jealously consumed him, and he attempted to destroy my pure one, who had won his place with the angels through much pain. It was I who allowed Alec’s family to be killed, to test Alec’s heart, and my dear one did not fail me. As a reward, I placed the souls of Izzy and Jace into new bodies, so that they may taste and enjoy the world again, until I call them to me. It was also I that allowed assassins to kill the Morgensterns; a just punishment for their evil. Everything is as it should be. I am pleased.
Ragnor and Catarina looked at each other in astonishment. God had planned it all, and each event had been interwoven with the other.
I will take Victor with me now. Thank you Ragnor for caring for my purest angel, you did well. You may return to your activities and I will send you new assignments soon,- God ordered, and took the fallen angel away.
Relieved, Catarina and Ragnor left the office, and headed over to the masquerade event ballroom. All the angels were gathered, staring in amazement at Alec and Magnus, as the pair danced happily without a care in the world.
Ragnor and Catarina smiled happily. It was clear that Alec no longer had any intentions of transferring. Magnus had found a way to reach Alec’s heart, and God’s chosen angel was finally happy and smiling, and so was Magnus.
The End!
