Chapter Text

(???-Imperial year, 1190)

It was the Imperial year 1190, Archbishop Rhea had been accused of killing her newest professor, the daughter of the Blade Breaker.. Byleth Rieus Esiner, The Kingdom's ruler, King Dimitri Alexander Blayddid had declared war against Rhea not long after. Two Empire residents, along  with an Imperial house and Two Alliance houses defected to fight the Church as well, along with one of their own, After months of fighting, Dimitri had stolen the corpse of Byleth and hidden her relic within the castle walls. This warranted the Church to respond with a explosive attack leaving many dead... One survivor on the brink of death himself. This is the final moments of Dimitri's life.

(In a burning Fhirdiand, 1190)

"Damn you..." Dimitri growled as he looked up and seen Seteth and Rhea pointing weapons at him.

"Why did you turn Flayn on us?!" Seteth growled.

"Turn her on you?" Dimitri begins. "Heh. I did no such thing!"

"You traitor! You will perish for your sins!" Rhea growls.

"Me, committing the ultimate sin?" Dimitri laughs. "You amuse me, Serios." Everyone paused.... No one in the academy knew their true identities. But how did Dimitri know?

"How do you know that name?!" Seteth asked.

"Before you killed her, I was about to give Byleth her diary back." Dimitri says. His eyes stared at the bloody pages of Byleth's diary "She had written your real names in it, Cichol. I told Cethleann that participating in my side meant she'd be an equal to us... She understood that... murderous Saint!"

"Enough!" Rhea growled she readied her blade as she dug it into Dimitri's chest with full force, before extracting it.

"Gah!" Dimitri grunts. "Beloved... Forgive me... Your murderer runs free..." His limp body hits the floor as blood pools from his chest area.

"Search for Flayn! Lea-" Seteth begins as a spy they had sent to investigate Castle Blayddid movements' came running towards him. He was just an injured Sniper and he was on all fours, catching his breath in front of Seteth.

"Lord Seteth!" The spy says as he catches his breath. "It's about Flayn!"

"Yes, what is it?" Seteth wondered angrily. The spy was covered in green blood, the blood of a Nabatean.

"During the war, you sent me to rescue Lady Flayn, but she outed me as a Knight of Serios and fought me, aiming to kill me. After the fire attack you launched on Castle Blayddid, she risked her life to save Dimitri's. She wouldn't want to align herself with us, either way." The spy replied.

 "A saint stands by what they believe in. Flayn never would've abandoned the kingdom." Rhea sighed. "Let us gather our reinforcements and go." With that, the Church of Serios left, perhaps the Kingdom wasn't an ally of theirs after all.

Headcannons:

If any of the four saints lend support to anyone's cause, they never back down.

Since Flayn is a saint, she will be resurrected alongside the Blue Lions.

In this story, Bernadetta is a Germory (This is based on my recent GD walkthrough)

A different cult will take place of TWSITD since they don't exist in this fic. Maybe a group of Fodlanese scientists will resurrect the Blue Lions?

Seteth is kind of upset Flayn allies herself with Dimitri and is heartbroken later in the fic.

(Fodlan, Year 2005)

"Ah, good morning, Seth!" Seth's co-worker Rachel von Varley says. Rachel was somewhat of a timid but cheerful woman, being a descendent of the heroic Bernadetta forced her to become an introvert since she didn't like being in large crowds.

"Ah, Rachel." Seth nods. "How are the digging sites coming along?"

"Really good!" Rachel grins. "Derrick and Glenn should be back by now!" Derrick Monarilo and Glenn Fraldarius, descendents of Dedue and Felix respectively, They often helped dig up artifacts from time to time.

"Seth, we are reporting our findings." Alex nods. Miklan came in carrying a wheelbarrow full of ancient weapons. Laura and Leo arrived holding more ancient weapons in their arms. Alex was a descendent of Petra and Ashe, Miklan was a descendent of Sylvain and Ingrid. Laura and Leo's bloodlines, the Ordelias and the Gloucesters were thought to have vanished in history, but they were now alive and well.

"New artifacts?" Daisy Arnault asked. "What are they?"

"Weapons, silver ones... The heroes relics were unable to be unearthed, since it triggered something in Faerghus." Derrick says.

"Ah, thank you." Seth nods as he begins typing on his computer, he pulls up a news article.

'Alert! Resurrection, fact or fiction?

Western Fodlanese scientists attempt to resurrect King Dimitri and his allies to deliver a message of peace! Resurrection should be complete by the end of the week should nothing to wrong.

Should we play with fate? Only the goddess will tell! This is Fodlanese news at 8!'

"Resurrection? That sounds like a bad idea!" Glenn says. "Things that are dead should stay dead!"

"Hmm, what if we were to stop the Western Fodlanese labs?" Derrick says.

"No.. We have to follow the company policy of United Fodlan, always respect another company's workspace." Seth says. "But the city has to have a problem with their project. Unless they can't find their projects problematic we can't stop them." With that the Fodlanese scientists continued to work and discover artifacts.

But... Beyond the grave...

Dimitri's lust for revenge grew and grew..

When they get resurrected, it'll only be Dimitri and his allies, he'll resurrect their army throughout the story.

(Western Fodlanese labs:11:00 am, the day of the project.)

Western Fodlanese scientists have arrived to their labs and opened their laptops, the machine used to perform the project slowly turned on as flashes of light and sparks erupted from it's sides.

"Um, boss? This project is dangerous. What if King Dimitri and his allies confuse us for evil entities and want us dead?" An employee asked.

"Shut it!" The boss growled. "That won't happen! They aren't smart enough to use our tech!" The machine begins to glow as the pad on the floor glows as well, a body begins to form as it scans the machine, more of the body formed as Areadbhar formed in the body's hand as well.

It was Dimitri. The last King of United Fodlan, in the flesh in front of these western Fodlanese scientists. The machine began to form more bodies, presumably the bodies of his allies. Petra, Dorothea, Bernadetta, the Blue Lions, as well as Lorenz and Lysithea. Then the machine stops...

"You.. Your King Dimitri! The project worked!" The director of the science team says.

"Where is it?!" Dimitri growled. His voice was rather raspy and full of malice. "Bring it to me, the Sword of The Creator!"

"What?" The scientist asked.

"Take them out!" Dimitri growled. "Kill every last one of them!"

"About time you had a good idea, boar!" Felix grins. These allies of Dimitri's weren't the real things, but they were rather husks... Husks with the ability to communicate to humans.

"They don't want us dead huh?!" The scientist mocked his boss. "How do we defend against them?!" Scientists kept getting slaughtered by Dimitri and his allies, leaving the two scientists alone.

"Your highness! I may know how to work this contraption! We can warp our forces here and we could retrieve the Sword of The Creator, together!" Flayn says. Dedue and Felix spotted the remaining two scientists as Petra finished them off with a surprise sneak attack.

"Gah! I knew we should've never... Done that... project..." The lead scientist says as he died.

"Your highness!" Petra says. "This machine is being unable to transport many soldiers."

"How many can we transport?" Dimitri asked.

"The maximum might be 20. But we have tons of soldiers! But we have tons of soldiers that aided us!" Flayn says.

"We could leave it on overnight and reclaim the Sword of The Creator in the meantime?" Bernadetta says.

"Excellent!" Dimitri grins. "Lorenz, Lyithea, Bernadetta help Flayn figure out this contraption and find a way to resurrect more than 20 soldiers at a time! Felix, keep training until we invade and kill Serios, Dedue I recommend you do the same. Annette, Petra, Mercedes, and Ingrid, find a way to disguise yourselves as citizens of Rhea's Fodlan. Then steal the Sword of The Creator from any museum that will hold it. Sylvain, Ashe, find Vessel 13 and convince her to join us."

"Yes, your highness." His allies reply as they all scatter to different places in the room, Annette and Mercedes using disguising magic on themselves and Petra, Sylvain, Ingrid and Ashe to fit into Modern Fodlanese society. 

"I have found it!" Annette says in her disguised voice. "The Sword of the Creator is being held in a museum not far from here! The one who guards it is vessel 13, apparently the ritual that we know of was a failure on her, too."

"Really? Ashe, Sylvain! Head with them, try to convince vessel 13 into our ranks!" Dimitri orders. "Then we shall resurrect Byleth into her body should she refuse." With that, the five of them head off, hoping their disguises would work.

Dimitri had a lot of people helping him fight the Church of Serios. (The people from Brigid, the Varley troops, Western Church, Ordelia and Gloucester soldiers, Opera volunteers, along with The Kingdom.

Idk whether to include Catherine and Gilbert in the resurrected forces since they were both Kingdom and Church Members. (They are both out for now.)

Vessel 13 is named Sitri (odd, no?)

Yes, Dimitri plans to resurrect Byleth like Rhea tried to revive Sothis. (He probably ditched the plan later on.)

At most, the machine can only resurrect 20 out of possibly thousands of troops.

(The museum of Faerghus, closing time)

"Please find the closest exit as the museum is now closed!" A voice says over the intercom.

"Good night Sitri, guard the Sword of The Creator, will ya?" Another man asked.

"Sure!" Sitri nods as the museum completely closed, Sitri turned on the flashlight and begins to patrol the museum. The five disguised Kingdom Elites slowly entered.

"Where is it?" Petra asked. "We are needing to find the Sword for his Highness."

"It's somewhere around here." Ashe says. "Keep lookout for vessel 13, Sitri."

"I see them!" Sylvain nods. "Vessel 13 and the Sword of The Creator!"

"Annie, take Sitri! We'll take care of the sword!" Mercedes says as she casts a sleep spell on her, grabbing her as Ashe and Sylvain lifted the glass, Petra retrieving the Sword of The Creator and giving it to Mercedes, the five running towards the exit, heading towards Dimitri's lair.

"Your highness, we have vessel 13 and The Sword of The Creator!" Annette says. Bernadette and Lysithea eating as Flayn and Lorenz started fixing machines.

"Ah, well done!" Dimitri nods. "Everything is going according to plan, take a break until I require your assistance. Flayn, Lorenz, put that machine in auto-work and take a break. Don't overwork yourself!"

"Ah, thank you. Your highness!" Flayn nods. After 20 soldiers appeared from the machine, more soldiers begin to appear in the machine slowly, more soldiers appearing in the machine.

"My allies..." Dimitri says to himself. "They risked their lives for me. I will make sure they are avenged!" He grabs Areadbhar and begins to walk away to train... by himself.

The machine can only resurrect 20 soldiers at a time.

There are 40 soldiers that replaced the dead Western Fodlanese scientists.

The difference between the husks serving Nemesis (in the game) and the husks serving Dimitri (in the story) is that the husks under Dimitri's rule can talk, and have their original personalities. Both have husks obedient to them.

Rhea is still alive. Probably... Maybe... Vessel 13, Sitri, is her daughter.

Chapter Text

(Setting:Western Fodlanese labs.)

"Dedue, how did it go?" Dimitri asked as he placed the Sword of The Creator on the portal, an attempt to resurrect Byleth without using a vessel, unlike Rhea.

"She is compliant, your highness." Dedue nods. "Though she kept mentioning Rhea."

"She mentions that crazed murderer?" Dimitri growls. "Bernadetta, help Flayn fix the machine." Bernadetta obeys. The machine begins to flash...

"Resurrection number raised." The machine says as more soldiers flow out of the machine.

"Why has the goddess abandoned me?" Dimitri asked.

"Your highness!" Lysithea says. "Why is the Sword of The Creator on that machine?"

"To revive her Majesty." Dorothea says. "Remember the Holy Tomb incident?"

"Yes, I recall." Annette nods. "The number of soldiers is constantly increasing!"

"40 soldiers warping through the portal! No, wait, 60? Soon, we will be ready to invade... With our troops, our army will be unstoppable!" Dimitri laughed as a figure begins to form, a feminine figure with green hair and eyes.

"Is it... happening? The Professor is coming back!" Ashe says. The feminine figure grabs the Sword of The Creator as it begins to glow.

"Why, hello there!" The figure says.

"This might not be her." Lorenz says. "The real professor is somewhere else or buried in another place."

"Right, how many troops left?" Dimitri asked.

"Approximately most of the Fraldarius, Brigid and Galatea soldiers." Mercedes says. "Somehow we managed to revive the other soldiers, even the Western Church!"

"Prepare yourself, Rhea..." Dimitri growled. "We will make sure Byleth rests in peace!"

(In the Western Fodlanese labs)

"Your highness!" Flayn begins. "We are ready to invade! We should be able to take small factions of Fodlan undetected. Where should we start?"

"Let us take the nearest town." Dimitri says. "Are you coming?"

"Of course, Dima." Byleth nods. The Kingdom elites and their troops made way. Enough soldiers to conquer a small town and quell the resistance should any arise.

"Rhea, let's see you manipulate these folks now!" Dimitri says angrily as the troops approach the small lumber town, this town was sealed off from the rest of United Fodlan as some the troops surrounded the borders of the town.

"Prepare to die, filthy servants of Rhea!" Byleth says as she starts the massacre of the small town, Sitri was not there as Dimitri discovered that she would betray them.

"Ha!" Bernadetta says as Flayn and Lorenz assist her in taking parts of the small town. The other kingdom Elites taking them as well, with Dimitri looking around, hunting anyone who rebelled against them.

(With Seteth and Co in the Fodlanese labs)

"Something just doesn't seem right..." Seth says.

"What's wrong, Seth?" Rachel asked.

"I can sense the presence of the resurrected. The Western Science labs experiment worked!" Seth replied.

"How do you know?" Miklan asked.

"I just have a feeling." Seth replied. "A time may come where your forced to face your ancestors, will you be able to do so?"

"Yeah! Yeah, we will!" Daisy grins. "Count on us!"

"I see, we must train until then. Who's with me?" Seth asked as the room cheered.

(With King Dimitri)

"Your highness, we are ready to invade!" Annette says. "Will we retrieve the professor's body first?"

"Yes." Dimitri nods. "Troops, move out!"

"Sir, yes, sir!" The troops say as they all begin to march towards the main area of Fodlan. Heavy armored steps begin to approach a busy road on the main Fodlan road.

"My King." A dark mage says. "One of us should cast a fog spell to give our troops the advantage!"

"Allow me, your highness!" Dorothea says as she casts the fog spell, obstructing the vision of the drivers.

"Hey! I'm late for work!"

"Come on!"

"Damn it!" The drivers cars came to a stop as Fortress Knights walk towards the highway, blocking every exit.

"W-What's going on?" A driver asked.

"Kill every last one of them!" Dimitri orders as the troops and his allies rushed forward, the drivers rushing back into their cars, Dimitri jumping on their car roofs, killing them by crushing them.

"Your highness!" Flayn says. "There are intruders here!" Dimitri looked over and seen Seteth and various other figures holding various weapons.

"Flayn..." Seth begins. "Come on, Dimitri!" Both sides rush towards each other. and begin their brawl, blood will be spilled but, it's not their blood..

"Are these your companions?" Dimitri asked Seteth with malice in his voice.

"Indeed they are." Seteth nods. "I should tell you that Serios has repented for what she's done to the professor."

"Do not fool me, Cichol." Dimitri responds. "Serios didn't repent at all!"

"Your Saint Cichol?" Miklan asked. "Why is he after us?!"

"No time!" Seteth says. "Help me get rid of them!" His new allies rushed to take on their ancestors, Bernadetta and Rachel fighting each other, Rachel's arrows being blocked by Bernadetta's magic, as she was forced to flee, Bernadetta trying to heal her troops as Petra and Ashe fought against Alex and Miklan, both retreating as well.

"No escape!" Dimitri yelled as he critically wounds Seteth.

"Flayn... Forgive me..." Seteth says whispered as they all retreat. Seteth and his allies ran away from Dimitri and his allies, they were too strong for their encounter. They needed to strengthen themselves to fight Dimitri should they fight again.

(End of chapter 7)

Seteth and his allies constantly get stronger, their second encounter with Dimitri, the resurrected King will end in a tie.

(Hiding out in the Fodlanese science labs)

"Is everyone ok?" Seteth asked.

"Yes, we're fine." Alex nods. "Wait! We need answers!"

"About what?" Seteth replied.

"Why does King Dimitri know you? HOW does he know you? What was he referring to when he said that you killed Byleth?" Miklan asked.

"Seth, what's going on?" Glenn asked.

"Fine." Seteth says. "My name is Seteth, Dimitri was a student at Garreg Mach Monastery... He had fallen in love with the daughter of the Blade Breaker, one of our elite knights. After sometime, she started to look like the goddess, Sothis. Rhea sacrificed her to revive Sothis... Dimitri found out and declared war against the Church of Serios, taking an important Imperial house, two imperial residents and Two Alliance houses with him... Rachel, Alex... Laura, Daisy, Leo... Your ancestors turned against the church... He had stolen the Sword of The Creator as we retaliated... The Blayddid castle fire was a form of retaliation. The reason we decided to keep your ancestors as heroes, is because that's how they were seen at the time. They took her, Flayn left with them."

"So, if the ritual was never performed..." Derrick asked.

"Then none of this would be happening!" Seteth says.

"Hey, so you think we could take them down? Ya know, stop them?" Rachel asked. "Magic is illegal, yes. But it'll be a challenge and a threat we need to defeat!"

"Right." Seteth nods. "We should warn my sister!"

"Let's go!" Glenn replied. The group grab makeshift weapons as the all rush towards the direction of Rhea's location.

"Ignorant fool." A resurrected mage says. He runs off to find Flayn on a Dark Pegasus "Tell his Highness of their location! They're headed uptown."

"Of course." Flayn nods as she moves her Pegasus towards Dimitri's location. "Your highness! My brother is headed uptown, let's grab our weapons and head out."

"Right. All troops! Move out, now!" Dimitri orders as they march towards Seteth's location.

I wonder what Rhea's new alias will be..

Dimitri sent a Western Church mage (One loyal to him) to spy on Seteth and Co.

(Seteth and his allies are headed towards Rhea's current house, her new name is Rey)

"Ok, now that we lost them what are we gonna do?" Derrick asked.

"I am having confusion, where are we?" Alex wondered. "Is that Rey, the librarian?"

"Good afternoon. Oh, Seteth? They're with you?" Rey asked.

"Rhea, We need your help!" Seteth says. "Someone has resurrected Dimitri anyone who has allied themselves with him has been resurrected as well..."

"But... We put him down ages ago! How is he back?!" Rhea asked.

"We should just fight them!" Rachel says. "Wait, on the TV, look!"

"Serios! Cichol! Show yourselves!" Dimitri growled. "Look at how much blood is being spilled! This is all your fault!"

"What do we do now?" Glenn asked.

"We fight." Rey says as she grabbed the Serios Sword and Shield. "Let's go." With that, Rey, Seth, and their co-workers ran off towards King Dimitri's location.

(In Faerghus)

"So, you've arrived, Serios." Dimitri grunts. "I will kill you! Perhaps bathing in your blood will satiate my beloved's ghost..."

"Listen to me, Dimitri. I know what I did was wrong!" Rhea says. "But conquering Fodlan is NOT the solution!"

"You know nothing about my beloved, Serios." Dimitri growled. "I am not conquering Fodlan! My beloved... I had to purge Remire Village. I can't have those idiots execute her upon her return, can I?"

"Wait... You don't mean..." Rhea begins.

"What's the matter Serios? You sacrificed my wife to revive your mother... What's wrong with me sacrificing a total nobody to sacrifice my wife?" Dimitri grins. "Now, no more talk! Prepare to die!" He pulled out Areadbhar as he clashed weapons with Rhea, his allies defending him from Seteth and his allies trying to interfere.

"I will make sure you won't be able to get away with this!" Rhea says.

"Keep lying to yourself!" Dimitri yelled. "Your through!"

"Enough." Rhea growled the duo begins to fight, Dimitri was close to death as Flayn came up and healed him before returning to fight Seteth.

"Hey, Flayn... Can you join me this time?" Seteth asked.

"I will make sure... You shouldn't have sided with the professor's killer, Father. I will make my king proud!" Flayn throws a wind spell at him as he dodged. Both forces were suffering injuries as Dimitri's resurrected soldiers begin to die.

"Silence!" A voice says, stopping both forces from fighting.

"What do you want?" Dimitri growled. "Mind your own business, unless you wish to perish!"

"Wait..." Rachel begins as she takes out a book. "Is that?"

Sothis returns!

After Byleth died, Dimitri believed only in Sothis and Flayn, he stopped believing in the other saints.

Sothis has the whole divine pulse thing (she can change time and prevent Byleth's death.)

Ironically, if Byleth was still alive, her and Dimitri's daughter would be named Sofia (named after Sothis)

Should Sothis have not been involved Seteth, Rhea, and Co would've been forced to retreat.

Chapter Text

(With Sothis)

"Why are you here?! Why didn't you save Byleth?! She was your friend! You should have saved her!" Dimitri growled.

"Mother... I" Rhea begins.

"Silence, Serios." Sothis begins. "All of this is your fault! Cichol, why didn't you stop her?"

"Well, Mother." Seteth chuckled.

"Dimitri... I'm sorry..." Sothis begins. "I should've honored Byleth's last wish of looking after you. She... *sigh* she was with you after her death, her ghost watched you declare war on the Church of Serios. She felt at fault when Flayn defected... When she found out you stole her corpse and her relic she... Never mind. Come with me, all of you."

"What?" Rachel asked.

"Just huddle around me." Sothis says. She warps Seteth, Rhea, their allies, along with Dimitri and his elite allies. They all warped to the day of the ritual.

(Inside the Holy Tomb)

"What are we doing?" Byleth asked. She looked around the Holy Tomb.

"Here we are." Sothis nods. "The day of the sacrifice."

"Wait! Wait! Wait! Don't do this!" The past Dimitri says. "She's our professor! Let her go!"

"This was the day Serios failed to revive me. Byleth still died... " Sothis sighed. "But watch what happens when I keep her alive." The past Dimitri burst through the doors as he grabs Byleth and tries to run off with her.

"Why? Why did you pause this?! I almost left with my beloved!" Dimitri growled.

"Very well, I shall continue." Sothis nods.

"Professor, are you ok?" Past Dimitri asked.

"Yes, I'm fine." Byleth nods. "My head hurts. Can you help me to my room, please?"

"Of course." Past Dimitri replied. "Grab my hand, belov- Professor."

"Thank you!" Byleth says. The past Dimitri guided her to her dorm, glaring angrily at Rhea for attempting to sacrifice her to revive Sothis.

"Oh, Professor!" Past Dimitri says. "I erm... You dropped your diary, here." He hands the book to her as Byleth takes it.

"Thanks." Byleth nods, placing it in her pocket. The scenario paused.

"What I wouldn't give for this reality to be real..." Dimitri whispered. "But Serios ripped her away from me!"

"I can resort your reality to this one." Sothis says. "If you wish."

 ...

...

...

"Do it." Dimitri says. "I do not care if I die.. I wish to die by Byleth's side."

"Very well." Sothis sighed. "Serios, if you sacrifice Byleth again, I will come down and lock you in your quarters myself!"

(With Sothis)

"Apologizes for what Serios has done." Sothis whispered. "Good luck... Byleth is waiting for you!" Dimitri looked at his hands... He began to dissolve, his allies dissolving with him.

"Beloved... Our reunion beckons..." Dimitri grins. He disappeared as his allies disappeared with him. All except for Flayn, who had become a young woman, wearing clothes popular with modern Faerghans.

(In Dimitri's time)

"Dimitri?" Byleth asked. "Are you ok? You've been asleep for quite some time now!"
