Chapter Text

11 Wakandans were among those killed during a confrontation between the Avengers and a group of mercenaries in Lagos, Nigeria, last month. The traditionally reclusive Wakandans were on an outreach mission in Lagos when the attack occurred.

King T’Chaka : When stolen Wakandan Vibranium was used to make a terrible weapon, we in Wakanda were forced to question our legacy. Those men and women killed in Nigeria were part of a good will mission from a country too long in the shadows. We will not however, let misfortune drive us back. We will fight to improve the world we wish to join.

Our people’s blood is spilled on the foreign soil. Not because of the actions of the criminals, but by the indifference of those pledged to stop them. Victory at the expense of the innocent, is no victory at all.

No statement is issued by the Avengers at the time of this recording.

When you think about it, what legal authority does an enhanced individual like Wanda Maximoff or even the Avengers have to operate in Nigeria. That’s the truth, without laws, Avengers have no jurisdiction to enter another country to engage or capture criminals.

The training and the recruitment of the avengers as well as their qualifications is called into question. No one knows anything about Wanda Maximoff apart from her being a Sokovian. Questions about Steve Rogers leadership qualities are being raised across the social media platforms. 

And with this the Sokovia Accords have been approved by the UN and the enhanced are expected to support it. Let’s see what Mr. Stark, Iron man has to say about the Accords.

Tony Stark : What happened in Nigeria was irresponsible and my condolences to the people who lost their loved ones. Sokovia Accords are something that I believe will make disasters like Lagos from repeating itself. I firmly believe in the Accords and fully support them.

No statement has been issued from the Avengers regarding the accords and attempts to make contact with them has been unsuccessful.

Tony Stark was not having a good day. Secretary of State, Thaddeus Ross had finished his spectacular presentation, and they were discussing about the accords.

The discussion was giving Tony a headache now. He didn’t know whether it was because of Maximoff or because of Steve’s pig headedness, but either way, he was tired of this bullshit.

He had explained the story of Charlie and how they had unintentionally caused his death. His and Bruce’s failed experiment had led to the loss of lives, add in the Lagos disaster, and yeah it was understandable that people wanted to hold them accountable.

But that was going above Steve’s head. Sometimes Tony wondered whether Steve argued to genuinely make his point or was it because he genuinely had no understanding of things.

Tony generally was fine with arguing as that gave a highlighted a point that he may have missed, but with Steve, it was like they were talking about two different things.

Case in point, him talking about accountability and Steve talking about not being allowed to go where they should be. He then had the gall to say The Safest Hands are our own.

This guy who caused the death of 26 civilians was saying that he knew better than all others? Does he even know what they are saying about his crusade outside of US?

To think about it, he hadn’t once said that what happened at Lagos was a mistake, he had instead justified it. Even the reason they were there in the first place was not explained properly.

Tony just stared at Steve after he finished his ridiculous speech. Steve started squirming in his seat and Rhodey and Sam had exchanged a glance. Wanda, Vision and Natasha were looking uncomfortable. But before anyone could say anything, they all were interrupted by Steve’s phone ringing. He looked at his phone and straight up left.

Tony looked around, Rhodey was looking at him in concern, Wilson was looking where Steve had disappeared, Wanda and Vision were giving each other heart eyes that had Tony cringing and Natasha raised an eyebrow when he looked at her.

“So, the Accords signing is in 3 days, see you then.” He said to Natasha and started walking. Rhodey was beside him.

“So, what next?” 

“Next, we sign the accords and I retire from the Avengers. They want to say that Safest hands are their own right? Then let them solve Lagos disaster on their own.”

Rhodey looked relieved. “Finally.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Tony raised an eyebrow.

“Tony these Avengers are supposed to be your team but most of them straight up hate you or don’t care about you. That’s not how a team is supposed to be.”

“I’m starting to get that. That’s the reason that I was waiting for the accords to finish. After these accords are implemented, they will be someone else’s problem.”

Avengers on a whole were bad investment. They don’t even bring anything to the table except a drain on resources and migraines. Finally, he will be able to wash his hands of these idiots.

As per the plans, he was going to sell the compound and remove himself from the Avengers equation completely.

Avengers’ ratings was at an all time low. They wanted Wanda and preferably Steve’s head on the platter, and the way these people behaved, Tony knew for sure that these people had no idea about it.

Speaking of Maximoff, he was the only one who had protested on her addition to the team, but he had been outvoted and now the disaster that it is shaping up to be, Tony was glad that he has alibi that he was against her addition.

He doesn’t pity Rogers at all, let him deal with the shit show that he caused.

It was time that Rogers learnt that being a team leader came with a lot of responsibilities that he cannot shrug off. He also emailed all the key players, informing them to take queries up with Rogers and forwarded Rogers’s private phone number as well as his email id.

He informed Pepper about his decision via an email and asked her to cut his funding from the Avengers. With the Accords in place, the US government or the UN could take care of the upkeep of Avengers.

Tony instructed FRIDAY to lock the Quinjets and with that he completely washed his hands off them.

Speaking of Pepper, they were on a break and no he was not quoting Ross from Friends, they are actually on a break after Pepper walked in on him while he was working on his suit at 3 am. That had led to a huge argument and they both had agreed to take a break from each other.

Tony was missing Pepper and wanted to either finish their relationship or continue it. It had been 2 weeks since that fight, and he was sick of not knowing. With that in mind, Tony and Rhodey both left the compound.

After reaching his penthouse, he messaged Pepper to meet him for dinner. He planned on discussing their relationship over dinner.

Sufficient to say it had developed into a screaming match, but they had come to the understanding that this relationship had reached its end.

Pepper wanted him to quit being Iron Man and Tony didn’t want to stop being Iron Man.

This was deal breaking. Tony wasn’t going to give up the suits in near future and Pepper didn’t want him with the suits. Their lives were intervened with each other, so they couldn’t go on without seeing each other, but some distance was needed.

The news wasn’t announced to the press or SI as of yet but Rhodey, Pepper’s secretary Valentina and Happy knew about it.

After that terrible meeting where Ross had proposed them to be Government lapdogs, Steve’s phone had not stopped ringing.

The calls that he received were from the Accords people. They asked about signing the accords and a few had directly called Wanda a terrorist. He had set them straight but it didn’t seem like they believed him.

Whatever, Wanda was a good kid and people had to see that she was trying. Lagos was an unavoidable mistake but they didn’t have to crucify Wanda like that. The press especially was saying how she killed those people. Don’t they understand that she was trying her best?

Collateral damage was a given. More people would have died if Rumlow had released the bio weapon, and instead of thanking them, they were blaming Wanda. It still baffles Steve how selfish people are in the 21^st century.

He had to get to Peggy’s funeral. The woman of his dreams was dead. He was busy with packing, but he was still receiving calls from people govt people asking for his opinion on accords and what the Avengers plan on doing.

Accords were Tony’s problem, let him handle it. It’s time that he learnt that he cannot hide in his lab and ignore the world.

He had seen Stark command JARVIS a few times to block or hold his calls. So, Steve asked FRIDAY to do the same, but she had replied that it was breach of privacy or something.

FRIDAY was something he was still not comfortable with. When Steve had first started living in the Avengers Tower, he had been uncomfortable with JARVIS as well, but after Stark had created a murder bot, no one were comfortable with another AI.

But Stark had said something about security and protection and Nat had asked him to pick his battles when he had tried to make his point. 

Wanda was still uncomfortable and scared of FRDIAY, she had a flashback of Stark’s murder bot and had lashed out once. Tony had to come and fix FRIDAY and after that FRIDAY had stopped responding to her altogether and had ignored poor Wanda.

Vision was the only one who was comfortable with FRIDAY and spoke to her constantly. Around others she only responded when asked something, but with Vison and Rhodes she chatted away as if she was a real human. Her voice was also less mechanical.

Anyway, Steve had better things to do than worry about Stark’s machines. He switched off his phone and packed his bags.

There were instances where Tony had put money and his own well-being above the good of the team but even after all these years, Tony’s selfishness still shocks him. Steve could not believe that Tony would be so cold hearted. He had locked all the Quinjets at the compound and FRIDAY was not letting him use it.

Tony was also not responding to his calls. Steve had to see his best gal for the last time. Even pleading didn’t get him anywhere. He tried opening the door of the Quinjet but they were locked and none of the buttons worked.

Steve and Sam were forced to use the public planes and that had delayed them. Steve was not allowed to take his shield. He was forced to leave it at the compound and the entire ride he felt naked without his shield.

They were only able to reach the memorial in time to hear the end of Agent 13’s speech. They had to sit at the last row as every other place was occupied. Steve didn’t know that Agent 13 was Peggy’s niece or that she knew Tony.

After the ceremony, Tony and Rhodes were in the front, talking to some old guy. Agent 13, who he now knew as Sharon, was standing beside them and they were far enough that Steve couldn’t hear them even with his enhanced hearing.

Before Steve could get any closer to them, the old guy hugged Tony and left. Tony looked at Rhodes and put an arm over Sharon and all 3 of them followed the man. They headed towards the next room which was reserved for Peggy’s personal memorial.

Steve was not invited to the personal memorial and hence could not follow them there. But this begged the question of what was Stark doing here? Tony being invited to the funeral may be due to Peggy’s connection with Howard, but why was Tony invited inside and while he wasn’t. He was Peggy Carter’s first love and yet he wasn’t invited, was there a mix up with invitation?

When he reached near the room, he was asked by security guards that he wasn’t allowed inside. He didn’t want to cause a scene and decided to wait for Tony or Sharon to come out.

Sam had left immediately after the ceremony to give him space. Even after waiting for nearly 2 whole hours, there was no sign of Tony or Sharon. Steve decided to leave the memorial hall.

Sam had booked a hotel near the memorial. They stayed in the hotel for the next day. He spent the day visiting Peggy’s grave. His best gal was dead. Their dance cannot be completed now.

Steve had tried taking Peggy to dancing after he had woken up but her family and doctors had said no. They had outright denied him and Peggy’s son especially looked at him as if he was an idiot and Steve hated it.

He spent the entire day in his hotel room thinking about what life with Peggy could have been. He met Sam that night for dinner and both talked about any possible leads for Bucky. Steve wanted to find Bucky as soon as possible. He is sure that Bucky will be sad about missing Peggy’s funeral, but Steve would be there for him.

He had a good sleep that night. Early morning, he went for a jog as well. London was a little cold but other than that it was good. The scones were great.

His phone had thankfully stopped ringing, but to be on a safer side, he had it on silent.

Steve reached the hotel when Sam came rushing and showed him the news. Wanda had been detained by FBI and investigation was being conducted. Steve asked Sam to book the tickets and started packing.

Entire fight he was worried about what they were doing to Wanda. Is it because they didn’t sign the accords? Will they be arrested too? The plane was too slow and the customs took forever.

He would have helped Wanda sooner if Tony hadn’t locked up the Quinjets. Steve tried calling, but the airhostess had told him not to use mobile phones in plane. He would have argued but Sam had shaked  his head. Huffing Steve sat down.

They were able to reach US only at night. Entire day was spent in plane. Poor Wanda was suffering because Tony was being petty.

By the time they reached the compound, it was night and they were barred entry as it was said to a crime scene. They had that yellow tape and all.

Sam had asked about it and the cops replied that Wanda had pushed Vision through 13 floors and caused the death of 5 officers.

Vision had then apparently used the stone and subdued her. Steve didn’t know what Vision had done but he knew that he had to save Wanda. They received no replies when they asked to see Wanda.

Steve wanted to go and rescue her but he didn’t know where this FBI office was. Sam didn’t know either.

They both waited outside the compound for a few hours. Even after repeated requests, they were not allowed inside. Sam was standing beside him and scrolling the news when he gasped. At Steve’s questioning glance he held up his phone.

The Accords Conference at Vienna was bombed by the Winter Soldier. There was footage of him planting the bomb and now people were behind him. Steve had to save Bucky. They both left for the airport immediately. Police had still not allowed them inside the compound and they were unable to use the Quinjets.

Steve tried contacting Nat and Tony but Nat asked him to stay away from the mess and Tony didn’t answer his call. He even tried Rhodes but there was no reply. He didn’t know how to contact Vision; did he even use a phone? Steve couldn’t remember. They had to save Wanda and no one was responding.

When they tried to book the tickets, the card was rejected. Steve tried 3 times before the card was blocked. Sam stepped in and booked the tickets, but all the flights had been delayed by 6 hours due to the weather or something.

Seeing no other option, both stayed at a hotel nearby for the night. The entire night Steve kept dreaming of various scenarios where Tony found out and killed Bucky.

Steve woke up and met Sam. They both got ready and were leaving the hotel when they were surrounded by the cops. They made ridiculous claims like illegal entry to a country, negligent homicide, etc. Steve wanted to clear the misunderstanding, but they used tear gas when he tried to talk. Even with his super serum he could not escape. The last thing that Steve remembers is being in handcuffed and thrown into a van.

Chapter Text

Tony was surprised at the turn of events. 

When he had decided to quit the Avengers, he had expected a disaster but he hadn’t expected it to be at this level. 

After he had stepped back from the Avengers and had that awful dinner with Pepper, he had received a call from Sharon.

As far as he knew, Sharon was in London after Aunt Peggy’s health had deteriorated four days ago. The doctors had informed them that she would likely not make it through. The entire Carter-Sousa clan had spent the past days with her. 

Tony couldn’t make it due to the Accords and Lagos mess. He braced himself for the news and answered the call. Aunt Peggy had passed away in her sleep. Even if he had anticipated the news, he couldn’t hold back his tears. 

Aunt Peggy had taught him self-defense, the use of his first revolver and she and Mom had made it a point to attend all his science fairs. After she was diagnosed with dementia, she had mistaken him for Howard a few times. Those instances were hard, but she had blurted out a few stories, like the one with Howard’s pet flamingo.

Tony then called Rhodey and informed him of Aunt Peggy's passing and her funeral in London, at first Tony thought of not attending but he wanted to see Aunt Peggy for the last time. He may have missed seeing her before she died but he wanted to be there for her funeral.

The next day, Tony reached the memorial and carried Aunt Peggy’s casket and laid her to rest. Rhodey was there to support him. After the ceremony, he met Uncle Dan and offered his support. Sharon came when they were talking to inform them that the final goodbyes were being said in the next room. Tony nodded and followed uncle, Daniel. 

After the ceremony, he was in his hotel room when he got a call from the FBI. They were enquiring about Wanda, Steve, Natasha and Sam’s hand in Lagos disaster. The deal was for them to sign the accords and submit themselves for a UN review or get arrested for illegal entry to the country, negligent homicide, etc., to name a few. 

Tony thought that they knew this and hence was surprised when he had been informed by FRIDAY that except Natasha, others were not signing. He had thought about asking Natasha about it but later remembered that they were not his problem anymore. 

Tony was asked for a video call to which he agreed. The entire time, he answered honestly and said what he knew about their mission, which was not much. Steve had replied it about being Avenger’s mission and nothing more. Steve had been acting suspiciously for some time now, this was something worth looking into. 

He ended it by talking about his retirement from the team and how he still didn’t know what they were doing in Lagos. He made a mental note to look into it. Officer Greg had thanked him for his cooperation and had ended the call. 

For the past six months, between cleaning up Ultron mess, balancing SI’s stock and the Accords business he had been stretched thin. He didn’t have enough time to look into what was happening with the Avengers. He had to rectify it soon. He had FRIDAY look into the happenings in the compound. 

For 2 months after Ultron, FRIDAY was not installed in the Compound as she was still learning. He didn’t want her initial interactions to be with Maximoff, he wasn’t that cruel. There were basic security cameras at that time but FRIDAY had no connection with them. 

FRIDAY was going through those instances as well. He wanted to know everything. From bank statements to coming and goings in the compound. 

With that in mind, he started going to the list that FRIDAY had complied on the enhanced across the World. She had researched and provided a summary of the people and their powers. A few were currently in Vienna for the signing, and he wanted to see whether he could speak to some people before that. 

The signing was at noon. Before that, he was able to meet up with Captain Britain and had spoken to him about the accords. He was signing in the accords and had promised to keep an eye out for any other enhanced in Europe. 

Vision had agreed to sign but had declined to come to Vienna. He was still shy of crowds. After Tony had gotten over hearing JARVIS’s voice in Vision, he had wanted to have a better relationship with Vision. Vision was somewhat his grandkid or nephew. 

They had met a few times but those times Vision had mentioned Wanda and things had turned awkward. Vision was a kid and Wanda was an adult. His rants to Rhodey were ignored and one time he had brought up the topic in front of Vision, Vision had stopped speaking to him for a month. 

Rhodey had advised him to stay away and let Vision experience love and the baggage that comes with it on his own. After that, the topic of Wanda Maximoff was ignored. Tony was teaching him to cook but that was a slow process. 

He and Rhodey met outside the conference room and signed it together. They were joined by Natasha, Brain Braddock and a few others. So far 12 enhanced had signed including Tony and were listening to King T’Chaka speak when the bomb blast occurred. 

King T’Chaka and 11 others had died, and a few others were injured. Rhodey and Braddock had immediately gone out to search for the culprit whereas he and Nat had worked towards evacuating people. 

Then it was a media shit storm. It was the Winter Soldier who had done it according to the recording. His face was plastered in news channels and suddenly everyone had something to say about him. 

Sharon and her team were tasked with bringing in the terrorist and Rhodey was asked to stay back and help the search. 

Tony had given the press a summary and had left to states. 

Over the next week, he was planning on meeting some enhanced and conducting a press conference regarding the resignation from Avengers and signing of accords. He also had to oversee the selling of the compound. 

The next morning, he had started working on the new project that had been bugging him for a few weeks and had lost the sense of time, when FRIDAY asked him to turn on the news. Wanda had been arrested by the FBI and Homeland Security. But not before killing 5 officers and paralyzing a few others by giving them nightmares using her stupid powers. That witch had also pushed Vision through 13 floors! 

Vision was quite friendly with her and she had proclaimed to love him. This is love? That bitch was getting it. Tony was not going to hold back on anyone’s account now. He will get Vision to therapy if tries to save her, but she is not stepping anywhere near his son.

Tony asked FRIDAY to get the car started and got ready. He spoke to his lawyer and had them file a case against Maximoff. 

He reached the compound and met Vision. By the time he arrived, the compound was sealed off and Vision was shaken. He offered his condolences and left with Vision. 

Tony gave Vision a blanket and sat with him while watching a movie. He spent the entire night with his son. He had FRIDAY hold his calls and the next morning they spent trying to make a good breakfast. 

Happy and Pepper joined them. Rhodey was still stuck in Europe and he only had time to call and ask about Vision. Vision clearly had a good family and he would move on from Wendy. 

Tony had read articles on moving on from break up after his own but now he needed to study how to move on from betrayal. Dammit. Raising kids is hard. 

They spent the entire day in the lab, Pepper took care of SI and Happy was not letting any reporters near the Tower. Spending time with his siblings was good for Vision. DUM-E, U and Butterfingers were happy to see their younger brother. 

He had managed to distract Vision from Maximoff by asking him to research the enhanced and college courses. Vision was ready for college and some human interaction will do him good. 

Tony had used the time to check up on what was happening with the UN bombing case. 2 hours ago, Prince T’Challa had killed James Barnes and had collapsed a bridge in Romania killing nearly 15 civilians and 4 officers. 

Tony’s first instinct was to feel guilty for not helping them, but then he remembered that it had nothing to do with him. Which he agrees is kind of selfish but then again if he had been in Romania, he would have escalated the situation and not be there for his son.

Then he hears a voice in his head, suspiciously sounding like Rhodey saying “Not everything is your fault Tones” and for once he had to agree.

He got back to work after a power nap. Iron Man suit had given him an idea for prosthetics. He had FRIDAY already compile data on the prosthetics and was going through them when his baby girl informed him of the findings in the Compound security. 

Tony saw the footage which included some guy called Ant-Man and him fighting with Wilson and FRIDAY had dug into Redwing’s logs and found the entire footage. 

That guy had introduced himself as Scott Lang and said about borrowing something to save the world. Considering that there was no record of someone borrowing technology from the SI archives, it was safe to say that it was stealing. 

Tony had FRIDAY cross-reference the Ant character any incident in the US and was going through the data on the item that was stolen. It was a Signal Decoy used to counteract the transmission signals. There was no data of Howard creating it but no one had patented it either. Howard had brought it for 1 million at that time. 

FRIDAY had found that in San Francisco, California there was an incident two days after the robbery, where Pym Industries and a house had exploded. The house in question belonged to Lang’s ex-wife and her husband. 

About the Pym Industries, there was a deal taking place between someone named Darren Cross and Hydra and wait Ten Rings?? What?

Tony cross-checked the name again. He had FRIDAY go through the people that were arrested. Tony had assumed that with Raza dead, the Ten Rings had been stopped, but then he remembered about what happened to Trevor Slattery and how he had disappeared from prison. It is worth looking into.

But back to the matter at hand, even if this guy was a hero or a vigilante stealing from SI was a wrong move. And he was going to make this son of a bitch pay. 

Tony informed the legal and the cops about the breakout. He had the information and the videos sent over to them.

He had to send someone to the SI warehouse in the compound and check whether something else was missing too. Tony had cleaned out his parents’ mansion in Manhattan after the entire fiasco over the Starkium notes that SHIELD had stolen. 

If there is one thing that Tony knows about his father, it was that his father never liked to leave his notes around. One time Tony had left an idea for a new car engine in the SI office, and he had gotten a lecture for it and he had been 7 at that time. 

So, the chances of his father willingly leaving his notes with SHIELD was suspicious. 

Tony had let that go at that time, but now if anyone from SHIELD comes near him, they will be getting a repulsor on their face. 

On the topic of the break-in, Wilson had known about it and hadn’t reported it either. He will be charged as an accessory and this time Tony will be filing case against Wilson for the theft. 

After the SHIEDRA mess, Rhodey had vouched for Wilson and even Wilson’s commanding officer had nothing but praise for the man. That was the reason he was not arrested for stealing the EXO wings. 

Tony didn’t know Wilson; he had only seen that guy in the parties with Cap and never spoken more than a sentence or two with him. So, Tony wasn’t too torn up about him. Besides, the falcon gear can be more helpful in a non-combative situation. Hmm, that was something worth looking into. 

Tony was done with taking a burnt for them, let them deal with the fall out for once. 

Tony had a feeling that Pym had something to do with this. In the data dump, he had come across some vague references to a suit that made people shrink and SHIELD had used it to steal things sorry, extract information. 

He hadn’t put a lot of thought into it as Pym had not hidden his dislike towards Starks. The rants in media were famous and he genuinely thought that the old man had gone senile. 

Howard had been dead for 25 years, and Tony hadn’t met him since he was 6, and yet Hank acted as if he had the supreme knowledge on everything Stark related. 

Tony was dealing with these things when he was alerted by FRIDAY that Rogers and Wilson both had been arrested by the FBI after they tried to leave the country. Since they had not signed the accords, they were facing the charges that Nigeria had thrown at them.

President had made a deal that all these people would sign the accords and would submit themselves for a review in exchange for the charges going away. But since they didn’t sign, they were arrested. 

The Avengers line-up was down by 3, which Tony was not expecting however, the number of enhanced who had stepped forward was a good one. Maybe this time around there would be someone who wouldn’t dismiss his warning of the next alien invasion. Who knows? It was time to move the fuck on. 

Chapter Text

Helmut Zemo was not having a good time. His plans had gone to hell. 

The bomb that he planted was supposed to make Barnes come out of hiding. He would then awake the Winter Soldier, and Avengers will deal with the Winter Soldier. Barnes would alert them of the Winter Soldiers in Siberia and the Avengers or rather, Barnes, Rogers and Stark would arrive to neutralize the threat. 

There the video would divide the team. Out of the Avengers, only Rhodes, and Vision would be the only ones to take Stark’s side and the others would either take the captain’s side or run away. 

The remaining ones would be busy fighting the Winter Core and leave Rogers, Barnes and Stark to him where he would play the video, and they would then start fighting after knowing the truth about the Stark Car Accident, and he would show it to the world and see it how these people are assholes who only care about themselves and are underserving of the World’s praise. 

He wanted people to know the truth about their heroes. They were liked by the world, but he wanted to show them the reality. Heroes are a myth. 

An Empire toppled by its enemies can rise again. But one which crumbles from within? That’s dead. Forever. They had fought various enemies and lived to tell the tale, but the fight among themselves? That is hard to come back from. 

These people parade around as heroes and fight the bad guys uncaring about the people who are killed in their quest to defeat the bad guys. It was time that they realize how it feels when someone writes off their loved ones as insignificant. 

Zemo wanted to see the Avengers tear themselves apart by Roger’s lies, wanted to witness first-hand how these heroes are selfish creatures who only care about themselves. He wanted to remove the rose-tinted glasses that the World views them through and look at the aftermath when they realize that these heroes are selfish morons. 

He had studied the Avengers for the past 6 months. 

Winter Soldier was easy to find when you knew where to look. The soldier knew about Hydra inside out. As their top operator, he had known about all their bases and he defiantly wasn’t trying to get back to Hydra. The US, Europe and Russia were the strongest footholds of Hydra. 

Out of these, Russia was not quite kind to Hydra operatives who were caught. During the War, the soldier had carried out many assassinations both for and against Russia, and now they were not very keen on the soldier. 

The US was where the Avengers were and he was hiding from them. 

The soldier was low on funds and usually didn’t steal money when it was not necessary. Which meant that he didn’t go to Australia or somewhere far. 

Hence Europe, Winter had always stayed in small towns for 2 months and not more than that. He looked over his shoulder for threats and was ready to flee at moment’s notice. 

Zemo had people follow him around and had come up with the conclusion that this guy was still not used to surroundings and had flight or fight response. 

Next up, Stark. Now the thing about Stark was, he had a mask up in the public. But once you start searching, his true nature could be found just by looking at his work. Stark had a successful career as a Superhero in the World. When he started, Stark was praised for everything, but after the Avengers, he was blamed for everything. And surprisingly, he took it all in. 

Stark before Afghanistan was a classic asshole, but he never let anyone walk over him. Many people were sued left and right for saying something derogatory about Stark but for the past year alone, they were blaming Stark for that robot and there was no response from Stark.

Stark had issues with his father. This was well known; Howard Stark had spent his time working for Shield and SI that he had forgotten about his son. Stark Jr, had been shipped out to boarding school and later college where he remained far away from his parents. 

Zemo didn’t know whether this was to protect Stark Jr or was it because Howard Stark genuinely didn’t care for his son. Either way, Stark Jr, had resented his father. 

Added to the fact that the general consciousness was that Howard Stark was driving drunk and had killed his wife, well, this was the perfect thing that could make Stark lose all his critical thinking. 

The Accords were a blessing in disguise. The team had blamed Stark for Ultron and Stark had quit from the team. 

Zemo was sure that Stark would end up signing the accords and Rogers would not like it as that was the conclusion that Zemo had reached after watching them. 

Talking about the Good Old American poster boy Steve Rogers, the perfect piece of American propaganda. It was biting them in the ass now. 

America had created propaganda around Captain America and he was hyped up to a level that people genuinely believed that he punched Hitler. Some others truly believed that the war had ended with Rogers putting his spaceship in the ocean and with him ‘sacrificing’ his life. Zemo would not be surprised if these same people believed the earth to be flat as well. 

America may believe Captain America to be perfect, but the rest of the world was seeing his flaws with a front-row seat. 

Rogers had agreed to a medical procedure that could have killed him but did it anyway for the sake of fame. He believed that the world is divided into good and bad. He had a naïve view of the world. 

Rogers also believed that good guys won because they were good and God was with them. The speech that he gave in Washington DC proved this. How he expected SHIELD spies who worked with each other for decades to identify their coworkers’ intentions at a moment's notice was above Zemo’s understanding at least. 

Whereas America saw the entire SHIELD incident as a brave act of Captain defeating Hydra, the world saw how stupid the entire plan was. Leaking the entire data online because you found moles was the stupidest thing Zemo heard in his entire life. Rogers had issues with the past. He had visited his girlfriend of yesteryears whenever he could, and had searched for Barnes over the years. He was not only stupid but also stubborn and pigheaded. He refused to move on. 

Barnes. Ah. Whenever it was concerned to Barnes, Rogers had a single-minded focus. After all his entire successful mission to save the 107th quadrat was because of Barnes. Since he viewed the world through 40’s lenses, Rogers believed that Barnes will be shot down or sent to a mental institution. 

He believed that he was the only one who could save Barnes. What Rogers thought to do after saving Barnes was a mystery, but Zemo didn’t care about that. 

What he cared about was Rogers and his relationship with Stark. 

Since Rogers is still stuck in the past, he has issues with Stark because Stark Jr is not Howard. Besides, Stark was everything that Rogers hates about the future. Stark was a futurist, he looked at the bigger picture, was not a soldier but a civilian who risked his life for people and most importantly had money and fame. Something which Rogers doesn’t like. 

On the paper, they both would have been ideal team leaders. Rogers and Stark would be the Brain and Brawn duo. But both had issues and, Stark liked to bottle it up whereas, Rogers would punch the problems until they went away. 

And Zemo wanted to exploit that.

Other Avengers were not that important.

Col. Rhodes was Stark's best friend and was bound to take his side in any argument against the Avengers. 

Vision was a strange one, his relationship with that Hydra Witch and Stark. Zemo did not know whose side he would choose but did not care much about him.

Sargent Wilson was a man who agreed with Captain America. 

The last two ladies, on the other hand, would join any side if it meant saving their skin. Hydra had thought them well.

So, Zemo had the trigger words of the Winter and was waiting in the Berlin Headquarters, when he received the news that Prince T’Challa had killed Winter. A slash through his neck with vibranium claws. 

The soldier was dead, Rogers and Stark were in States. FBI had issued arrest warrants for Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson. Either it was the Witch who had said something, or they had been dropped by Stark. Shit.

This was not going according to his plan. 

Zemo hurried out of the building and checked what was happening in the states. SI was suing Wilson and some other guy for theft. This just proved that Stark had separated himself from Avengers. 

Stark was seen talking to Captain Britain before the Accords Meet in Vienna. He had not interacted with the Widow and, she had not used the Quinjet. This just confirmed that Stark had started meeting other enhanced, and if he were to go to Siberia, he would not go alone and certainly not with Rogers.

Rogers will not be let free by the Feds any time soon. Rogers was not liked by the feds after he had compromised their secrets in the data dump. He had only walked away scot-free because he was backed by the US President and Stark. 

But now Stark had dropped Rogers and. the President had elections to worry about rather than walking steroids commercial. US President did not want to jeopardize his relations with other countries in the process. 

Plan A included seeing the heroes tear each other apart. He wanted to see the assholes up close when they ended up fighting each other. But he had other plans as well. The only thing that he regrets is that he will not get to see their reactions up close. 

It doesn’t matter, Zemo was going to see his family one way or another.

Steve Rogers was in custody for about 6 hours now. 

He had been arrested by the cops and they had a lawyer meet him and inform the charges. Things like illegal entry to a country, illegal possession of firearms, involuntary manslaughter, etc. were discussed, but frankly, Steve's not bothered about them. Tony was going to arrive soon and set everything straight.

Steve was not worried about him; he was more concerned about Bucky. Every minute he spent in the cells, Bucky was out there alone and scared.

Steve had failed him once and, Bucky had paid the price by being with Hydra for 70 years. Bucky, who had been there for him when his mother died and who had stood up to the bullies along his side, now was in danger and Steve was not able to rescue him. 

These worries kept him up at night. The cells were not up to standard and, the meals that they gave were not enough. Complaining to the guards was useless some had outright laughed at him. 

He was kept away from other prisoners and, a few times that he tried asking about Wanda and Sam, he was ignored. Tony needs to investigate their ridiculous behavior. He was being mistreated and ignored; this kind of treatment was unacceptable. 

It was getting ridiculous now. It had been three days since he's been in prison wearing those idiotic handcuffs and, Tony still hasn’t come to take him from here. What was Tony doing? 

Sometimes, Steve wonders how Howard had such an ungrateful child. Howard had been his friend who had helped him rescue Bucky and had equipped them with weapons to win the war. Though Tony made them weapons, he was loud and obnoxious, something which gets on his nerves. 

Howard never spoke against him, unlike Tony. Tony made it a point to oppose him at every decision that he took whether it was big or small. Tony opposed the addition of Wanda to the team as if he was a team member. Steve was two seconds away from throttling him when Tony continued to bring up Wanda and her involvement with Ultron. 

Natasha thankfully took control of Tony they ended up adding Wanda. It's not like Stark could have done anything but, it was better this way. Tony is somewhat of a necessary evil as Natasha would sometimes say. Steve did not particularly like, Tony nor did he hate him. Tony did get on his nerves sometimes but, Steve knows how to be patient with Tony. (As if)

Steve would not go as far as to say that Tony was his friend or something because that would be ridiculous! Steve would never be friends with someone as stubborn and selfish as Tony. 

Tony had an easy life; he never had to face any consequences for his actions and had others pick up the slack. He felt bitter about what Pepper and Rhodes would have to go through with Tony as their friend. 

Thinking about Tony reminded Steve of Howard's murder. Tony cannot know about the truth as rational and logical are not things that people would ever call Tony. 

Steve of course felt sad about not saying it to Tony, but he knew that it was the right decision. Tony is known to fly out of hand, he would kill Bucky and not listen and understand that Bucky was controlled by Hydra. Howard would have understood unlike, Tony, and Steve hates Tony a little for not being like Howard. 

Besides, Steve was not planning on hiding the fact forever, but just until he found Bucky, it had to be a secret. Tony had the resources to search and find Bucky, and Steve must save Bucky. 

As much as it hurts Steve to admit, he needs Tony to find Bucky. It grates him that he cannot save Bucky on his own, but Steve is big enough to admit that he needed help, unlike Tony, who created a murder bot without asking for help. 

On the second day itself, he had asked his lawyer to contact Tony, but he had not agreed and had continued to say nonsense such as he was being charged with terrorism and illegal entry to Nigeria. He said he was there with the Avengers, on Avengers business to stop Hydra. 

Even after saying this, the cops, as well as the lawyer had looked at him with a look that he couldn’t identify, and the cops had asked more questions. Steve was suspicious of them being Hydra. 

He had informed his lawyer about this, but he had muttered something about proof and evidence. Steve was forced to answer their questions and, he hated it. 

What was taking Tony so long? He was supposed to be here by now, apologizing to him and smoothing things over. Did Tony come to know about Bucky? 

Yes, that must be it. Tony was paranoid about some stupid alien invasion because Tony would never abandon him, but if Tony found out, he had to save Bucky.

Steve had renewed his efforts to leave after that. So far, the only thing that he had managed to do was sprain his wrists, and when he thought that they would remove the cuffs, his serum had healed his wrists.

Some other inmates spoke about how he was Captain Hydra and, Steve put him in his place despite the cuffs he was tranquillized by the guards who arrived at a moment's notice. 

On the fourth day, he was transported to a different cell in someplace called the Raft. He had tried to break out by that was proving to be useless. His handcuffs were removed, but the glasses on the cells was made so that even after his repeated efforts, there wasn’t a single scratch on the glass. 

The next day his lawyer came to meet him and informed him that the person with who he had a scuffle died in prison and, he was now charged with murder as well. Steve wanted to scoff at the lies he had not used force or anything; the guy was likely fine and, these people were making up the so-called charges.

There were some new charges added by the government after some files had supposedly been leaked. Steve knows that this was all fake as they wanted him in prison for not signing the accords. 

In the next meeting, which was two weeks later, he had asked his lawyer about his teammates. Natasha and Sam's trials were set to begin, in a week, Wanda had already been sentenced to death in Sokovia, and Bucky was no longer alive.

Bucky was assassinated by a prince. It happened two weeks ago, and Steve was unaware of it. Bucky was no longer alive. Steve attempted to flee by shattering the glass but he was shot in the neck with a tranquillizer dart. Before he passed out, the last thing on his mind was the death of his best friend and the fact that he could not save him.

Chapter Text

Col. James Rhodes knew that things would escalate after Tony withdrew his support from the Avengers, but well, things were better this way.

Tony Stark was his best friend ever since he had met this 14-year-old kid wearing a suit with a bow tie in his dorm room. He had introduced himself as Anthony Stark and had even gelled his hair. 

Jim had heard about Stark kid of course. Jim was supposed to be the youngest at MIT, but this kid had surpassed him. 

After that Tony had stuck with him and had followed him in MIT like a lost duckling. Even after college, this guy hadn’t left his side. 

When Tony had joined Avengers, he had mixed feelings. In a way, he was glad that Tony had someone watching his back, but that was supposed to be his job. Jim was the one to watch out for his brother, but over the years he had failed. 

Tony was kidnapped in Afghanistan when Jim was supposed to watch him and then he had gone and stolen Tony’s suit. Tony had forgiven him for it, but he still felt guilty about it. 

His friend was dying and he hadn’t realized. Tony had always given him things without asking for them, but still, Jim had stolen his suit. He had received a lecture from Mama Rhodes for that and Tony had denied feeling bad but he knew his brother. 

Since then, Jim had promised that he would have Tony’s back and never let him get to the point where he would question whether or not he had his friendship. 

Now, Tony distanced himself from the Avengers and he would try his hardest to keep it that way. If he has to be the one dealing with this investigation and keeping Ross at bay then so be it. 

The Avengers were worse than Sunset Bain. They used Tony as a bank account and their punching bag. They taunted Tony for his past all the while giving known assassins a chance. It was more of Roger’s group and less of a team. 

Hence, Jim was really glad when Tony had washed his hands off them.

For the past day and a half, he was meeting many more enhanced who had come out the woodwork, for signing the accords. Some of them had weird powers, but Jim wasn’t complaining. As long as the Earth was saved, he didn’t care. 

Currently, Jim was watching the news of Rogers and Wilson’s arrest. Everhart had done a segment explaining what was the reality of Captain America. She had managed to get someone who had fought in the war with Rogers and had him talk about Rogers’s behaviour during the War.

Wanda Maximoff’s visa was rejected, and she was shipped back to Sokovia. Nigeria wanted her head after she killed their people and left without apologizing.  

Rogers and Wilson were arrested and will be charged with terrorism at worst and negligent homicide at best. So yeah, their chances were not looking good.

Jim was disappointed at Wilson. He had vouched for Wilson after he had met him and Riley a few times during some missions. Both were good people and had genuinely wanted to help people. Jim liked such morale in soldiers.

Jim had nothing to say about Rogers. That guy had other people cleaning up messes for him and had a superiority complex. Tony had dealt with the SHIEDRA fallout which had saved Rogers, but he hadn’t even said a simple thanks to Tony.

Rogers always compared Tony to Howard and treated him like shit. He viewed Tony as a bank account and only focused on what he could get from Tony instead of treating him as a human. 

Jim was better at reading people than Tony was. Rogers didn’t like Tony and only tolerated him for the sake of money. When people look at Captain America, they forget that Rogers used to be an actor, selling war bonds and performing on stage before he rescued the 107th unit. He wasn’t even a real soldier for crying out loud!

Jim didn’t believe for a second that Rogers was as innocent as he makes people believe he is. Rogers knows to intimidate someone and wasn’t shy of using those tactics. Jim saw this kind of behaviour more than he would have liked in his life, so he had not fallen for that.

Jim had started recognizing the people and their motivations in college when he started overserving the company that Tony kept. He knew that Rogers one hundred per cent didn’t care about Tony. 

When the Accords were announced, he knew that it will the perfect opportunity for Tony to move on. He was proved right as Tony washed his hands of them and the avengers were left fumbling without their punching bag. 

Widow and Braddock had joined him to provide help if Barnes had tried to escape, but before they could intervene, T’Challa had killed Barnes. 

Barnes was brought to Berlin, where a post-mortem will be conducted and from there, he will be taken back to the US to be buried there. Barnes had a sister whose family will be contacted and his body will be handed over to them. 

Widow had tried talking to T’Challa but he had not responded to her. Jim didn’t know what her angle is but as long as it doesn’t involve Tony or himself, he doesn’t care. 

Prince T’Challa had not escaped the consequences. Jim knew about grief and anger, but T’Challa had straight up killed Barnes, 21 members of JTTF and 4 German police officers in broad daylight. Plus, the bridge collapse had also killed innocent civilians. Prince or not, T’Challa was in deep shit.

Barnes was an assassin, yes, but the feds were building a case on him for the past two years. They had signalled out his location 2 weeks ago and wanted him in the prison. Now the information that he knew and many assassinations that he carried out were gone with him. They were pissed as well. 

Diplomatic Immunity would probably save Prince T’challa from being arrested but he was banned from entering Romania. Wakanda was being seen in a negative light and many were interested in that country now. 

Jim knew that there was something fishy going on in that country and that they were not truly isolated as they were let people believe, but he didn’t know the exact situation of Wakanda.

They paraded around as if they were a poor country, but the suit that T’Challa wore was raising many eyebrows. 

Just as Jim thought that it could not get any worse for T’Challa they found out that Barnes was innocent of the Vienna bombing. 

The video was found to be doctored, and the person was seen to be wearing a prosthetic with Barnes’s face. Some of his neighbours had seen Barnes in Romania during the bombing. 

So, it turns out that T’Challa had fucked up bad. Jim is only glad that Rogers and co were not there. 

The case had become all the more complicated now. No one had any idea who this person could be. He had worn the prosthetic until the next street and had blended in the crowd after that. There was no trace of this guy.

Jim has been scheduled to fly back the next day. He had nothing else to do here. The Winter Soldier was dead, and other European Superheroes could provide help if T’Challa tries to escape. He was in his hotel room when he was called as they got a lead. 

The doctor called to examine Barnes was supposedly the culprit, and the real physiatrist was murdered in his hotel room. The imposter was missing. 

They were able to track that guy and turns out he was Baron Helmut Zemo, a commander of EKO Scorpion, an elite Sokovian Paramilitarily tactical unit. His family had died in the Ultron attack. So, all this was an elaborate plan for revenge against the Avengers. 

His picture was being telecasted in the news and alerts were sent out when Pepper messaged him to check out CNN news.

Zemo had spent eight months collecting the dirt on the Avengers. He may have bombed the UN to attract the attention of Rogers and Stark, but that was not his only plan. 

He had wanted to see the Avengers killing each other up close, but he will satisfy himself with revealing their true colours and making sure that they have nowhere to hide. 

Zemo started recording and wanted to give the world a message.

My name is Baron Helmut Zemo and today I want to share the true colours of the Avengers with the rest of the world.

Avengers, the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’. Known for defending and protecting humanity form the aliens and unimaginable foes.

8 months ago, during their fight with the being known as Ultron and the Witch, I lost my family. My father, my wife and my son were killed in the battle against Ultron and their bodies were found two days later.

I asked my father and my wife to hide outside Sokovia in a safe house and my son he even said that he could see Iron Man through the window. They were supposed to be safe, but in the Avengers fight, they died and were written off as collateral damage.

Their bodies were found two days later. My father trying to shield my son and my wife. And the Avengers nowhere to be found. Avengers whose self-proclaimed duty is to protect the humanity could not protect my family and many others who died that day.

The Avengers are still lauded as heroes despite killing millions of people. The Avengers not only don’t deserve our faith and respect but are the most despicable people parading around as Heroes.

Today I want to shed light upon their true nature and make sure that the Avengers have nowhere to hide.

My only goal is to make people see the reality behind these so-called heroes.

A video was uploaded by a Sokovian called Baron Helmut Zemo, who is now identified as a commander of EKO Scorpion, an elite Sokovian Paramilitarily tactical unit and the man behind UN bombing.

In this video, the person, Zemo confesses to bombing the UN accords meet and the framing of the Winter Soldier. He also confesses to the killing of Dr Theo Broussard, whose body had been found by hotel staff in Berlin. 

The video was verified by our experts for its authenticity, and they have confirmed it to be true. The following video contains things that will be distressing to some viewers. Viewer discretion is advised.

Zemo also provided some files and videos about the Avengers, which has yet to be confirmed.

The data was accessible to people around the globe, and Twitter and other social media sites had a field day with it.

Natasha Romanoff didn’t know how things had gone so wrong.

The meeting with Ross was eye-opening. Being a spy, she had an idea of what was happening however, she hadn’t known about the accords until Ross presented them.

She had immediately read up on them and had looked up what people were saying in the media. She usually didn’t do the research herself as there were people in SHIELD for this, and later Stark had kept them informed of the happenings.

For the past six months, she had grown lax, and that was unacceptable.

They had gotten themselves into some difficulties. While the Lagos expedition may have appeared little compared to other Avengers missions, it proved to be a watershed moment for the Accords and the public faith in the Avengers.

People were not happy with them, and they were questions all across the internet asking for justification. #Avengers and #SokoviaAccords were the trending topics on social media.

Captain America’s reputation had taken a nosedive, and outside of the US, they wanted his head on a platter. The US was not that bad, and if Steve kept his head down until this blow over, he would be safe.

There was nothing much about The Falcon apart from 1 or 2 photos of him standing next to Captain America. His role in the situation wasn't questioned much.

As for her, she had fared much better. Her photo was not taken anywhere near the bombing site, and a few people had identified her, but it had not yet blown up. So as long as she signed the accords, she will be safe.

Wanda was on thin ice. Even if she did sign the accords, the chances of her being deported back to Sokovia or handed over to Nigeria seem very likely. Either way, her days as an Avengers were gone.

She immediately checked on others and what their plans were.

Steve had outright rejected the Accords, and even trying to explain to him that they had no other option apart from signing the accords after the Lagos disaster, he had stubbornly refused to sign. He said that nobody could force them to become government lackeys and had avoided her after that.

Wanda was raging in her room. She had broken her television when they had something about her past. Vision was out to visit Stark, and there was no one nearby to control her. Natasha didn’t waste want to waste time dealing with Wanda's tantrum.

Sam was the most amicable of them all. But he had rejected the Accords due to Ross’ presentation and Steve’s reaction. Sam had hero worship towards Steve, he had made up his mind about the accords.

When all three had rejected them, she signed to save herself. She had the least number of causalities in Lagos, and people were mainly angry at Steve and Wanda. So as long as she keeps her head down, this will also pass.

A wrench was thrown in her plans by Zemo. He had released a segment on the television with videotapes of Starks Assassination at the hands of Winter Soldier. He had also shown the video from that Hydra bucker and their subsequent conversation with Zola. He had also correctly guessed that they both had known since the fall of SHIELD and had not informed Stark.

But that was not the part she was worried about; Zemo had also aired everyone's past on the television. He had called it the unveiling of the hero’s mask.

Only Vision and Rhodes were excused, they had the cleanest records among the Avengers.

Steve was going down. Zemo had released Steve's service records and the messes that SHIELD and Stark had cleaned up for him.

Things that had made Steve famous then were making people hate him now.

His will to re-apply for the military after constant rejections when once it was seen as determination, was now seen as a crime. Videos of him being dismissive to the people who were left in the wake of Hydra takedown were gaining popularity. Every aspect of Steve Rogers was being re-evaluated.

The less said about Wanda, the better. Her Hydra past was out in the open. The death Penalty was a strong possibility for her.

Clint’s past in the circus and later the assassinations that he did for SHIELD aired. His family was also in the media.

Bruce wasn’t spared either. His entire history had ended up online, his father murdering his mother to the last fight in Sokovia where Hulk was last seen.

Stark came out smelling like roses, while it is true that Tony had made dangerous weapons for the military, it was a legitimate business, and Howard Stark had done it before him. Stark’s worst record was drug use which had happened 20 years ago.

Wilson was another such person who had nothing much on him from what Zemo had released, but SI was suing him for stealing some equipment. That had pretty much sealed his fate.

Signing the Accords is the only thing that spared her. She was put on probation for six years and had to serve her time by doing community service.

Stark had dropped all of them. He had called a press conference two weeks after her sentence was announced and had worn an all-black ensemble and black sunglasses. He had not spared anyone and had condemned her and Steve on live TV.

The Tony Stark, that she thought she knew was expected to be depressed and trying to find answers in his bottle, but here it seems like Stark had done a complete 180 and was well-liked by more than half of the world. The public had rallied in his support.

Howard Stark was well-liked before his death, and he had friends in high places. People were rallying in support of Starks.

Something that Steve didn’t understand was if Howard was popular, Tony was 100% more popular and well-liked than Howard.

Natasha watched from the side-lines as the world moved on from the Avengers. The Avengers Compound was sold to the UN and rebuilt as a training facility for the enhanced the worst thing was, that they were forgotten within six months of their arrest.

She had also received a restraining order barring her from SI and Stark. Potts was not kidding around; she had sued both her and Steve for fraud in the usage of Avengers funds for Barnes search and had won. She would have to spend a minimum of 15 years working with the accords to pay off the debt.

Clint was questioned about his past and had accepted the two-year house arrest. He couldn’t come to see her, but they had spoken on the phone frequently.

Sam and some guy called Scott Lang had been arrested for breaking into the SI warehouse. Hank Pym had orchestrated the entire robbery and had been arrested with them. He had also proclaimed that Starks were thieves and had stolen his inventions SI lawyers had shown proof of the purchase, which had shut Pym up.

Hank’s daughter had made a deal for herself and had managed to save the company. Pym Technologies had come under a lot of fire for the lawsuits that SI had filed against them, but the company managed to survive.

Stark was not devastated about any of them. He had the media and the public on his side. His prosthetics and the internship program had made him more likeable to the public. People are calling for the removal of the Avengers memorial in Midtown, Manhattan which was established to honor the heroes who protected Earth from the Alien Loki.

With the reality behind the invasion which was caused by SHIELD with the use of Tesseract to create Weapons of Mass destruction, Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff who worked for SHIELD and reportedly knew about the weapons that SHIELD built and supported them.

Bruce Banner was essentially blackmailed by SHIELD to help the invasion and Tony Stark’s AI was hacked and the house was invaded by SHIELD agent to make him join SHIELD.

The previous month now deceased King T’Chaka had informed the World of their desire to reopen the gates of Wakanda to the wider world after years of isolation, after the death of 11 Wakandans who were on a peacekeeping program in Lagos, at the hands of the Avengers showdown with Hydra agent Brock Rumlow.

Vibranium landed on earth in the form of a Meteor, and the reserves were said to be found in Wakanda and its neighboring countries.

After a few years, Wakanda had gone into isolation and they were seen as poor farmers who made their living by working in textile. But now after its prince was seen in a pure vibranium suit, people are questioning whether it is true that the people of Wakanda are poor or they portrayed themselves as poor.

Last year, the entity known as Ultron chased down Vibranium to South Africa and the US wanted criminal Ulysses Klaue, who was found selling Vibranium to Ultron and later the same Vibranium was used to create the being known as Vision.

For those who don’t know, Ulysses Klaue is a black-market arms dealer and has been on the wanted list for over two decades now.

Wakanda claimed that Klaue stole all their Vibranium reserves, but now their Prince wearing a suit made of Vibranium has raised many questions.

Speaking of King T’Challa, he was let go because of his diplomatic immunity, but on the other side, Wakanda has been blacklisted by the European Union and America after Prince T’Challa while explaining himself, said that he doesn’t trust the colonizers to provide him justice.

The head of the investigation, an Indian diplomat was seen looking in confusion after this statement. But this raises, the question of why would Prince T’Challa call the Europeans colonizers when Wakanda was not colonized?

The world at large put-up heavy sanctions against Wakanda after its prince made a fool of himself in front of the ICJ.

Pym Technologies faces a lawsuit from Stark Industries

Pym Technologies, which has been a rival to Stark Industries, was sued by SI for theft of patented technology.

Hank Pym and Hope Van Dyne were arrested from their residence after it was revealed that they hired ex-con Scott Lang to steal from Stark Industries. The technology in question is estimated to be around 2 million dollars and video footage of ex-con Scott Lang stealing the technology is found.

Ex-Avenger Sam Wilson knew about the theft and didn’t report it and is now being charged as an accessory. After this news aired yesterday, Pym Technologies lost 33 stock points and questions about whether the company will survive this are being asked.

Steve Rogers takes a stand in front of the world 

Steven Grant Rogers’s trial started yesterday and it already created news for all the wrong reasons.

Steve Rogers, Capitan America was arrested for illegal entry to Nigeria and involuntary manslaughter in Nigeria.

But charges of second-degree murder are added to his list of crimes after Rogers killed an inmate in jail. Rogers will now be placed in Raft, the primary prison built for the enhanced by US and UN.

Rogers was also charged with fraud and obstruction of justice by SI after it was revealed that he knew about the murders of industrialist Howard Stark and his wife Maria Stark and hid them.

Rogers’s lawyer presented her opening statement where she reminded the jury of Rogers’s sacrifices and the difficulties of waking up in a new world after 70 years of being frozen.

The jury which looked sympathetic changed when Rogers opened his mouth.

Steve Rogers spoke up in the courts despite his lawyer warning him not to, and in an extreme case of rewriting history, he ignored the reality and made his story such that people were left scratching their heads in confusion.

Rogers claimed in the court that the Nigerian government had ties with Hydra and that the Avengers should not be subjected to laws made by “paper pushers” because he proclaimed that “safest hands were their own."

When the judge issued him a warning of being held in contempt of court after he didn’t let the opposite lawyer make his point and kept interrupting him, Rogers claimed that Tony Stark had brought off the judge.

Sufficient to say, Steve Rogers was held in contempt of court and since he could not pay the bail money, he will be sentenced to 6 months of jail time.

The next hearing is on next week Thursday, where if Rogers continues to disrupt the court proceedings his case will be held in his absence.

Wanda Maximoff and her Hydra days

People across the world were horrified to know about the origins of Wanda Maximoff.

In the files uploaded by Baron Zemo, which are now confirmed to be authentic, Maximoff was shown playing around with people’s minds using the powers that she gained during Hydra Experiment.

The videos are disturbing to say the least, where Maximoff torchers the prisoners, including children while smiling.

Videos of Maximoff mind-controlling Tony Stark led to the creation of the being known as Ultron and she also mind-controlled the Hulk into attacking Johannesburg. Not only that she and her brother were on Ultron’s side when they attacked Dr Helen Cho’s lab following Ultron’s orders.

Rogers, the leader of the Avengers didn’t question them or arrest them instead took them to the Avengers Tower where Dr Bruce Banner was residing.

People are asking questions about whether Maximoff had influenced the Avengers as well to join them.

The claims are being investigated as Maximoff’s trial date is set. Maximoff was deported back to Sokovia but not before killing 5 FBI agents sent to arrest her. With this Maximoff has a kill count of over 1500 that is known to the people. The main charges against her are terrorism and voluntary manslaughter.

Chapter Text

Tony and Vision were cooking in the communal kitchen at their penthouse. Vision had inherited cooking skills from his father and was hopeless but the cooking classes that Vision took were useful enough to make mac and cheese.

Tony was lost in his thoughts. He was thinking about how the teams had come along. He was giving them a chance of course, but he was not trusting them just yet. Many recruits were not used to their powers and had to be trained, and luckily, there were no protests to this by saying such as “she is just a kid”, “she is lost Tony”, and “she needs time Tony”.

Rhodey took care of the physical training of the recruits, Daredevil took care of teaching them martial arts, Carol Danvers taught them the methods that she learned from outer space, and Jessica Jones and Luke Cage took care of teaching them to control their superstrength and Stephen Strange and Danny Rand taught the recruits about magic.

Speaking of magic, Stephen Strange the keeper of the Time Stone had also started teaching Vision to control and use his mind stone. Tony was wary of magic but after a rouge Kamar Taj Student, it was decided that every superhero needed to learn some basic magic to protect themselves.

Tony had agreed to lessons only after Stephen had agreed to give him private lessons. Now, Tony could protect his mind as well as cast a basic shield. Those lessons had led to them spending hours in the lab to come up with a way to combine technology with magic.

Tony had found that he enjoyed spending time with the sorcerer and when he spoke about this to Rhodey, he was teased for having a crush.

As if, Stephen Strange would ever like him back.

(Tony didn’t know that Stephen had already planned their first date and was waiting for the right moment to ask Tony on a date.)

Doctor John Smith, the doctor who was unfortunately stuck with being a physiatrist for Steve Rogers, was left scratching his head after each session. Anyone could have seen this entitled overgrown man as a hero.

Just 2 sessions in, Doctor was regretting losing that bet. John was not the first doctor who was given Rogers’s case there were 9 more doctors before him. But John soon found a trick to make sure that Rogers can be treated.

Steve Rogers was a narcissist and had a policy of no means you have to try harder. John came up with a method to make him realize his wrongs by making a hypothetical situation that revolved around Rogers, as Doctor had found that Rogers cannot empathize with things until he could relate to them.

(the part where Rogers thought that Maximoff twins joining Hydra was the same as him joining SSR to fight for the country was bonkers. Absolute bonkers)

His mother-in-law, Jackie Tyler, had been a Captain America fan, but she wanted to slap the good old Rogers to next week after everything that happened. As a recipient of the famous Tyler slap, he would agree that Rogers deserved it, but John didn’t want to lose his job.

So far, Doctor found 2 topics that made Rogers lose all his common sense. One was Barnes and the other was Tony Stark.

Barnes was not guilty of any wrongdoings, and Stark was at fault for just existing.

So, yeah it will be years before Rogers will be getting a clean bill of health but luckily, he and Rogers had all the time in the world.

Peter Parker enjoyed working in the Stark labs. And that is the thing that Peter didn’t think was possible. Even when he got bit by the spider, he didn’t expect to meet Tony Stark let alone work with him.

8 months after he got bit by the Spider, he came home to find a crazy sports car parked outside and was greeted by the sight of Tony Stark sitting on his couch, talking to his aunt.

Tony Stark found out about his Spider-Man identity and wanted to train him. That lead to an awkward conversation between the three of them when he confessed to Aunt May about being Spider-man and the only reason she didn’t scream at him was that Mr. Stark had talked her out of it.

Mr. Stark sat on his ratty old couch and talked to both of them about the internship at SI and the training plans if he said yes. Peter wanted to say yes, but Aunt May had asked for some time to think about it.

Mr. Stark had then left after giving May his private phone number.

After he left, there were more tears and screaming from both of them. After letting it all out, both hugged and May had grounded him for a month.

May had finalized the details with Mr. Stark and both had decided that every Monday and Friday he would spend with Mr. Stark in the lab at Stark Tower and Saturday Mr. Stark would teach him self-defense at the HEROES compound. (he had geeked out while he saw both the places)

It has been a month since he got this new suit, which he built with Mr. Stark and he has never been happier in his life. Yep, life is good.
