Chapter Text

In the small town of Naminori, everyone knows everyone. So, who are these new people Tsuna has been seeing around town recently?

All he knows is that he should probably avoid them. It's not exactly natural to have fangs or wings after all. Honestly, all of them had some sort of feature that no one else seemed to notice.

"Mornin', kora!" An energetic voice called out

It was one of the new people. He is a tall, muscular guy with blue eyes and blond hair.

Tsuna ducked his head down, ignoring whatever would have been said next to the woman he called out to.

She has dark blue hair with red-brown eyes. She also has muscles, but her body is a bit leaner than the blond's body.

Tsuna moved his head a bit to see more people had joined the two that were already there. They all had names, obviously, but it wasn't like Tsuna would talk to them. He would prefer peace instead of whatever they were.

The teacher walked in after the bell rang and began class. He was going on about a project, "We will have groups of ten due to the size of the class."

Tsuna gave an exasperated sigh under his breath while the rest of his class groaned in complaint. Though despite being upset, most of the people in the class were eyeing a certain group of nine.

"Well, get moving then," The teacher yelled out

Everyone immediately scrambled toward the, in Tsuna's opinion, weird group of nine. The brunet kept his head down until he felt a tap on his shoulder.

Tsuna turned around and sighed at the sight of the blond with the rest of the weirdos behind him, "Yes?" He asked hesitantly

The blond grinned widely, "Do you want to join our group, kora?" He asked as his blue eyes narrowed slightly as if daring him to refuse.

The brunet hesitated for a moment. It would be impossible to find a different group of nine willing to work with him, but he desperately wanted to avoid them as a whole.

Before Tsuna could ponder any longer, a young woman walked between him and the blond, "I can be in your group, Colonnello-kun."

A guy wearing a fedora gently took her hand and smirked, "I'm sorry, but we already have a tenth member, see?" He gestured towards the brunet

The young woman, Akane, if Tsuna remembered correctly, looked at the brunet and scowled. It was quickly replaced with a tight-lipped smile, "That's too bad, maybe next time?" She asked hopefully while turning back around

The guy's obsidian eyes seemed to glow a dark yellow for a moment before settling down, "Perhaps." He responded vaguely

It was enough for the young woman as she walked back to her friends while waving goodbye.

Tsuna pursed his lips as he caught a glimpse of what looked like black leather wings behind the other's back. He honestly would have missed it because of the suit jacket the other wore. The brunet inwardly shivered as he prayed to every god he knew that he was just hallucinating.

The blond had rolled his eyes in annoyance at the fedora-wearing possible demon before turning back to Tsuna with a grin, "So, looks like you don't have a choice anymore, kora."

The brunet sighed and refused to acknowledge the varied amusement that passed through the weirdos in front of him, "Should we move somewhere else to sit?" He asked timidly

The woman with red-brown eyes raised an eyebrow, "Why would we? This spot is perfectly fine."

The brunet stayed quiet and nodded his head slowly as he turned back around. He wasn't brave enough to mention the many glares he was currently receiving.

Chairs were being moved around, Tsuna was sure of it, and yet there was no sound of them sliding across the floor. He didn't want to look up. The thought that these probably-not humans easily carried the unusually heavy chairs only added to his bubbling anxiety.

When they all seemed to settle, one of the people clasped their hands together gently.

The brunet looked up hesitantly and was met with a gentle smile from a woman with blue eyes. Her eyes were pretty, he mused to himself, they reminded him of bluebells.

The woman looked at Tsuna gently, shocking him a bit, before talking, "Let's discuss what we should do our project on." She passed the paper with the details needed for their project.

When it got to Tsuna, the brunet was quick to take a picture of it. He got a few questioning stares, but no one seemed to voice their curiosity. Except for one.

An exuberant young-looking man with purple hair and lots of piercings tilted his head, "Why'd you take a picture of it?" He asked curiously

Tsuna looked up briefly to meet his gaze, "...It's so I don't forget anything." He explained uncomfortably, his gaze moving back down to his lap.

A different voice chimed in, "That's a good idea," The voice put a hand on the brunet's left shoulder, "Perhaps I should do the same." There was a sound of the person's camera going off before the paper was passed to the next person.

The brunet hummed his response as he realized that he doesn't know any of their names. He was a bit embarrassed since he would have to be working with them for a while. Though he didn't want to ask them either, he would look stupid if he did.

The hand never moved from Tsuna's shoulder and it was starting to make the brunet feel even more nervous. He didn't even think it was possible. Tsuna shifted toward the right a bit, hoping the person on his left would get the hint.

The person didn't get the hint, much to Tsuna's dismay, and if the brunet moved any further to the right, he would bump into the other person next to him.

A deep and elegant voice spoke from his right, "Fon," He called out in warning, "You are making him uncomfortable."

The hand on the brunet's shoulder slowly slipped away and a soft apology was made to Tsuna.

The brunet mumbled that it was fine and hesitantly looked to the person on his right. He was met with beautiful silver eyes that captivated him. Those eyes looked like the moon itself in a way.

The man looked the brunet in the eye and calmly smiled in reassurance, "Please speak up if they make you uncomfortable," He said quietly, "They won't get it otherwise."

Tsuna merely nodded and became flushed as he immediately looked down at his lap again. The man to his right was truly beautiful.

The woman with blue eyes coughed into her hand and began speaking again, "How about some suggestions on what we should do?" She asked with gritted teeth.

Suggestions were passed around, some were a bit strange —"We could do a project on motorcycle tricks!"— others were downright impossible for normal people —"A deep dive into quantum physics."— He didn't want to get into the more violent suggestions.

Tsuna had begun sketching at one point, barely listening to the conversation. No one had paid any attention to him until someone tapped him on his left shoulder gently. The brunet looked over to the left and saw, whom he presumed, was Fon.

He had dark brown eyes and black hair that was tied back into a loose braid, "What are you sketching?" He asked gently

The brunet ignored the several eyes on him and blushed as he hurriedly closed his sketchbook, "It's nothing." He felt so embarrassed and was glad that he covered the paper with his body while sketching.

His sketchbook was snatched from him by the guy wearing the fedora, "I want to see what's got you so flustered." He smirked teasingly

The woman with blue eyes sighed, "Reborn, give it back." She scolded

It didn't work, unfortunately, and the man began flipping through the pages, his eyes slightly wide with wonder, "These are pretty impressive for being nothing..." He trailed off as he narrowed his eyes on a specific page.

Tsuna's blush became brighter, "P-Please give it back." He stood up and tried reaching for it but failed.

There was a small, nearly unnoticeable, scowl on Reborn's face. He placed the sketchbook on the table for everyone to see.

It was a sketch of the man on Tsuna's right.

The man himself made an appreciative hum, "You drew me well, Tsunayoshi." He gave the brunet a soft smile.

Tsuna covered his face and let his head fall on the table with a loud thump. He was insanely embarrassed.

The blond spoke up, "Why'd you draw him, kora?" He huffed slightly

Tsuna looked up reluctantly and was failing to manifest the floor to eat him alive, "It's embarrassing." He mumbled, praying to every god he knew for the nth time that day.

The man he sketched spoke up this time, "I would like to know the reason as well if you don't mind." His voice sounded more pleasant than before.

And here Tsuna thought that this one wouldn't add to his embarrassment, "We need to focus on the project." He grabbed his sketchbook off the table and stored it in his bag.

The woman with red-brown eyes huffed, "Why don't you give us a suggestion then?" She pursed her lips and glared at the bag in Tsuna's arms.

The brunet thought about it. Their class was about public speaking, so the project had to be on an interesting topic. Not only that, but it would have to be easy for anyone to follow. Those were the basic requirements for the project, which was a bit difficult since no one has the same interests and opinions.

Tsuna didn't notice his group members staring at him with varying looks of awe and wonder. He didn't realize that his eyes were doing that thing where they change color either.

The brunet mumbled his response, "Plants." He fiddled with his bag strap as a way to distract himself.

"Plants?" A monotone voice repeated in a disbelieving tone

Tsuna looked up immediately and locked eyes with a pair of lilac eyes behind round glasses. He pursed his lips and nodded, "It has to be simple enough and broad enough to keep everyone's interest."

The guy scoffed, "And what about plants are interesting?" He ran a hand through his strange green hair.

The brunet squirmed in his seat again, "Well, they all have different purposes and different meanings." He explained timidly, "It's also easy to break it down for people who don't know as much."

The guy with lilac eyes didn't respond this time, he merely went back to writing in a little notebook he had in front of him.

The woman with blue eyes spoke up though, "I think it's a wonderful idea." She exclaimed happily, "Is everyone in agreement?"

Only three others voiced their agreement while the rest stayed silent. It was probably the best they were going to get out of them.

The bell rang at that moment, signaling the end of class. Many students were quick to get up and leave while others took their time. This included Tsuna. He had cleaning duty for that classroom and he honestly doubted that the others supposed to help him won't show up.

There was some movement to the left, "We can help if you'd like, Tsunayoshi." Fon offered gently, though it sounded a bit like a demand.

Tsuna pursed his lips and turned to look at the other, "It's fine, I can do it myself." He looked around the table and was met with the sight of his eight other groupmates looking at him expectantly. It didn't do much to calm his nerves.

Reborn smirked, "The classroom is pretty big though," He added with a cocky tone, "We're just being nice." His tone sent shivers down Tsuna's spine

"I'll be fine," Tsuna responded. He hesitated for a moment as he took in that they weren't going to back down, "...You can help if the other people on duty don't show up." He didn't know why he said that out of everything, he really wanted the ground to just swallow him whole.

They all seemed satisfied with the response. It was as if they knew that no one else was going to show up for duty.

And as the brunet predicted, the people ended up ditching. He didn't want to be left alone with these people. They were practically chaos itself. The number of times the purple-haired one has disrupted class to do some dangerous stunt was insane. Not to mention, Tsuna was ninety-nine percent sure that the purple-haired one suggested the motorcycle tricks during the group discussion.

Of course, it went for cleaning as well, unfortunately. The blond one and Reborn were constantly at each other's throats. It made Tsuna feel rather unsafe.

So once they broke yet another bucket, for whatever reason, Tsuna sighed loudly, gaining their attention, "I'm sorry, you guys are just making it worse," He refused to look them in the eye, "You can leave if you want, you know." There was a tint of desperation in the brunet's voice.

The woman with dark blue-green hair gave a rather strained smile, "We'll stay, Tsuna-san." She responded sweetly

Only the one with purple hair looked guilty. Everyone else had opted to ignore Tsuna's words.

The brunet felt his sanity dwindle, "...Great." He responded sarcastically.

It took far longer than Tsuna would have liked, but they finished cleaning the room. In turn, the brunet was very quick to leave. He mumbled out a hurried thanks and dashed through the halls after grabbing his bag tightly.

Tsuna had opted to take the shortcut to his house since the sun had already set. His mother and father would have been furious if they knew he stayed out so late. They were always weird about him getting home before it was dark out. Something about it not being safe.

The brunet sighed tiredly, "Why did they even help?" He mumbled to himself. He paused slightly when there was a groaning noise coming from ahead of him.

About four buildings down, there was what seemed to be a person limping towards Tsuna.

The brunet pursed his lips tightly, "Sir? Are you alright?" He called out, making sure to stay away just in case.

It was a gruff voice that answered, it seemed to be in pain, "Come here."

Tsuna trembled lightly, momentarily wondering how the man was able to communicate with him from so far away. The brunet then considered his options along with the pros and cons, "I don't think I should," He decided, "Do you need an ambulance?" He stepped back and froze when he bumped into someone else.

The brunet hesitantly looked up and was met with bright blue eyes. It was the blond guy from class.

The blond grinned at Tsuna before he moved the brunet towards another person. This other person grabbed him roughly and forced him to look up. It was the woman with red-brown eyes that hung around the blond all of the time.

Tsuna was still terrified. Mostly because of the tight grip the woman had on him, but also because Tsuna wasn't sure about where the man from before was.

The young woman gave a sharp smirk in an attempt to comfort the terrified brunet. It only made Tsuna more scared.

Though everything seemed to have come to a stop when the smell of blood hit the air. It wasn't normal blood. It didn't have that normal copper smell to it. It smelled like decay or even death in a sense. Just like that one dark red-black vial of liquid in his parent's summer home. It brought horrible memories of arguments and lectures directed toward Tsuna.

The woman that was still holding onto his arms glanced behind him. And for a second, the brunet felt dumb enough to do the same. Though he was terrified at what he could find, the pit in his stomach churned uncomfortably and Tsuna wanted nothing more than to get away from the two individuals from his class.

A rough, yet cheerful, voice interrupted his thoughts, "You alright, kora?"

The brunet assumed that the voice belonged to the blond from before, seeing as the young woman rolled her eyes playfully, though she also held a worried look towards the brunet.

Tsuna looked down at the ground and responded, "I'm fine, thanks." He squirmed a bit to get out of the woman's hold. It didn't work and only made her hold onto him tighter.

The woman continued to check over him. Most likely checking for any injuries, and there were most definitely bruises forming from the grip she had on him.

Tsuna did his best to smile reassuringly, but he's pretty sure it was more of a grimace instead. There were definitely bruises on his arms now.

The woman noticed and moved one of her arms to rest around the brunet's waist. She waited for the blond to move to Tsuna's other side before letting go of his other arm. She forced the brunet to walk away with the two of them, letting the blond talk his ear off as they did so.

After having time to collect himself, Tsuna spoke up and asked a very crucial question, "Where are we going?" He knew damn well that this wasn't the direction to his house.

The blond simply grinned at him, "It's safer if you stay at our place." He didn't elaborate any further

The brunet held back a sigh and looked over at the woman whose grip was thankfully loose around his waist. He gave her a look, asking for a better explanation.

The woman gave a small grin, one of her fangs showing as she did so, "You know what we are, right?" She asked

Tsuna nodded in response, "It's pretty hard to miss." He responded under his breath, not caring whether or not the two people with him heard it

His two groupmates gave him an amused look before the woman on his left continued talking, "That thing back there was a shapeshifter." She explained

The brunet nodded as he looked down at his feet.

The woman didn't mind it and continued, "Most shapeshifters are in clans, you kill one and the rest come after you." Her grip on his waist tightened slightly

Tsuna made a confused face as he looked back at the woman, "Then why is it unsafe for me to go home?" He asked curiously

The blond excitedly answered the time, "Because you were that thing's last target!" He moved closer to Tsuna, "That means that they believe that you're their prey, kora." He nuzzled Tsuna's cheek before giving it a light kiss, "We'll protect you though, don't worry, kora."

The brunet face flushed slightly, "Oh, ok." He couldn't fully relax with the clear knowledge that both of them are stronger and faster than Tsuna. Though, he wasn't sure if they would hurt him since they're being so affectionate. That didn't mean he couldn't be careful though.

A sword flew right in front of them, interrupting Tsuna's train of thoughts. It startled the brunet and struck a bit of fear into him since it was a bit too close for his liking.

The blond stared at the sword in distaste, "These guys are quick, kora." He mumbled as he took a protective stance in front of the brunet.

Someone with dark red hair walked out from wherever he was hiding, "Let go of that human. It's our clan's prey."

The blond made a low hissing noise, "He belongs to us, kora" He responded sharply

Tsuna felt calmer when the blond held one of his hands gently. He looked over at the woman as well and she had a scowl on her face. When he looked into her usual red-brown eyes, there was a bit of blue and indigo glow in them.

The brunet stumbled a bit as that calmness he felt quickly became tiredness instead.

The woman tightened her grip on the brunet even more, "You'll bring attention to yourself if you continue." She warned

As if on cue, there were people walking home at that moment, scaring the red-headed supernatural in the process.

"I'll be back with the rest of my clan." He warned while running away

Once he left, the people disappeared, it confused the brunet but he didn't have the strength to care.

The three of them began walking again after a minute of making sure the red-head was gone. Colonnello looked down at him as he fell back to the brunet's right side, his blue eyes were also glowing, "Ah, sorry. I didn't want you to freak out, kora."

More confusion settled around Tsuna and it only got worse when the woman on his left also apologized. At least he didn't feel like he was going to collapse from how tired he felt now, "What was that?" He asked the two, presumably, vampires

They both looked at each other for a moment before turning back to Tsuna, "We should explain when we get back." They responded simultaneously

Tsuna nodded, "Alright," He sighed wearily, "This has been one exhausting night."

The blond vampire gave a small laugh, "You're telling me, kora."

The rest of the walk to the two vampires' house was silent. Though the silence was far from comfortable, it felt safe. It was strange in the brunet's opinion that his usual anxiety eating him alive wasn't there but also felt relieved.

They eventually stopped in front of a house. It was honestly beautiful, even if it felt hot out. Tsuna felt the woman's arm let go of him.

The blond tugged on Tsuna's hand, "You'll have to get on my back so we can get in unnoticed." He said calmly

The woman had already left.

The brunet hesitantly got on the blond's back, "Is this alright?" He asked

The blond chuckled, "Make sure you hold on tightly, kora."

That was the only warning the brunet received. The blond jumped into a tree. Literally. Jumped.

Tsuna might be on the verge of a panic attack, "Holy shit." He mumbled as he buried his face into the blond's neck, tightening his hold on the blond in the process.

The blond chuckled again, "Sorry, sorry," He jumped to the next tree, gently this time, "That better, kora?" He asked quietly

Tsuna nodded slowly, his head still pushed against the blond's neck.

The blond jumped again but landed on something firm. There wasn't any shaking like the tree branches he jumped on. He let Tsuna down slowly, his blue eyes staring into honey-brown ones, "We're here, kora." He whispered gently, his face barely an inch away from Tsuna's.

The two of them stayed like that until the woman with red-brown eyes opened the door.

Tsuna's face became completely red in embarrassment. He moved away from the blond completely.

The blond turned to the woman, "Is everything ready, kora?" He asked her

The woman nodded her head and turned around to go back through the door.

The blond looked back at Tsuna and grinned, "Come on, I'm sure you want some sleep after all that, kora." He held out his hand

Tsuna took the hand, shivering at the cold skin. He nodded his head and let himself be led into the room.

It was a big room with pale blue walls. There was one bed in the middle of the room. It was western styled and was rather big. Other than that, there were empty bookshelves and some dressers. There were five doors in total, other than the balcony door.

The brunet started when some clothes were handed to him, effectively snapping him out of his thoughts in the process.

The woman from before was the one holding out pajamas and looked a bit apologetic, "I didn't mean to startle you, sorry." She said calmly

Tsuna gave her a small smile, "It's fine," He took the clothes from her, "Thanks for all of this." He looked her in the eyes, and just now took note of the scar on her cheek. The brunet reached out and touched it gently. Her skin was ice cold and it honestly felt nice compared to the hot temperature in the room.

The woman leaned into the touch, "Never noticed before?" She asked curiously

There was the sound of a shower turning on. That must be where the blond is.

Tsuna shook his head, "Your hair is more noticeable." He responded with a quaint smile.

She hummed in response, "My name's Lal Mirch." She smirked at the light blush on the other's face, "But you can call me Lal."

The brunet attempted to retract his hand but was stopped by the woman, Lal as he just learned, "...Sorry." He looked away in embarrassment.

Lal's smirk softened, "It's fine," She responded, "The blond idiot is Colonnello." She informed the brunet gently

Tsuna nodded his head, still embarrassed that she knew. He kept his eyes trained on the wooden floor. There was carpet in front of the bed that he didn't notice before. It was a dark blue carpet.

Lal sighed and kissed Tsuna's palm, "Don't be embarrassed," She continued giving light kisses on the rest of the brunet's hand, "Though, you're really cute when you do get embarrassed." She reluctantly let go of his hand as the blond, Colonnello, came out of the bathroom.

Tsuna looked up at the blond before looking down again quickly.

Colonnello was wearing some baggy sweatpants and had a towel around his neck. He looked over at the two and grinned, "What were you two doing, kora?" He asked teasingly

The brunet's face became even redder as he found the floor even more interesting.

Lal huffed and answered the question in playful annoyance, "I could ask you the same thing about earlier." She said casually

Tsuna looked up hesitantly, "Um," He began, gaining the attention of both vampires, "I'm kind of tired." He said timidly while pulling at the color of his shirt, the temperature in this house was truly ridiculous.

The blond grinned happily, "Bathrooms open," He ran a hand through his hair, "Go ahead, take a shower and change in there, kora." He opened the door behind himself and stepped to the side.

The brunet nodded and bowed slightly in Lal's direction before going into the bathroom. He did his best to not stare at Colonnello's abs when he walked by.

The bathroom had a marble floor and the walls were painted the same pale as the other room.

Tsuna locked the door behind him and put the pajamas on the sink counter. He began to take off his clothes, hesitantly putting them in the laundry basket.

He walked toward the shower and turned the knob. He made sure the water was a bit cold before getting in. The heat was truly ridiculous as stated multiple times before, so a cool shower sounds nice to the brunet.

The cold water felt nice against his skin. He stood there for a moment, soaking his hair, and leaned against the wall. He took this time to process everything that happened.

Tsuna took a deep breath as he moved away from the shower's wall and looked for some soap.

He found some, and though they weren't his usual soap, he'll take what he can get.

The brunet took a step back and felt a bottle hit the back of his leg. He picked the bottle up and looked at it. His eyes lit up at the scent. Vanilla. It was the closest thing to his soap at him.

The next step was to look for a washcloth. He peeked out from behind the door and saw a neatly folded washcloth on the counter. Cursing his luck, he reluctantly stepped out of the shower and grabbed it.

He sighed as he got back in the shower, the water immediately hitting his skin again.

He couldn't find anything to wash his hair with, unfortunately, "I'll be sure to ask tomorrow." He mumbled under his breath as he began washing his body.

He turned the shower off after he was done. He grabbed a towel and began drying off.

There was a sudden knock at the door that made the brunet jump.

Colonnello's voice called out to him gently, "You have those extra clothes, right, kora?" He asked curiously

Tsuna looked over at the counter to double-check, "Yeah, I do." He called back to the blond

The brunet received a hum in response.

He quickly grabbed the clothes and put them on, noting how baggy they were on him.

Tsuna opened the door and saw the two talking. He couldn't hear what it was but their conversation stopped as soon as they noticed him.

Colonnello was staring at him longer than Lal had. His eyes were narrowed slightly and he had a smirk on his face, "You look good, kora." He commented

Tsuna blushed lightly and looked away, "Thanks, I guess." He responded quietly

"I'm sure that Sawada is tired," Lal reasoned, "He does need sleep after all." There was light amusement in her voice

The brunet looked up at her and nodded. He did feel tired, even if the shower woke him up a bit.

Colonnello walked over to Tsuna and put an arm around the brunet's shoulders, "C'mon, the beds over here." He teased lightly

The brunet pursed his lips and shrugged off the blond's arm. He walked over to the bed and got under the blankets. For a moment, he considered not using the blankets due to the heat, but two cold bodies laid down on both sides of him.

Tsuna tensed and looked up slightly. His eyes met Colonnello's blue eyes.

That meant Lal was behind him.

Colonnello threaded his fingers through Tsuna's hair, "We aren't allowed to mess with the temperature in the house, kora." He explained quietly, his eyes glowing slightly

The brunet's body felt heavy all of a sudden, "Explain tomorrow." He didn't mean for it to sound so demanding, but, oh well.

He heard a chuckle from both of the vampires before drifting off.

He had a dreamless night for the first time in a while, and he won't admit it out loud, but the two vampires were very good at cuddling.
