Blue Raspberries and Panic

Summary:

She was panicking. No actually, she was far beyond that point. Aella was gone. She had been buckled into the swing in Petra and Nicte’s common room and Nicte took less than two minutes to get her fucking snack and the kid was gone. What if someone had taken her?

A short cracky little piece for my Smallest One followers!

Chapter 1

Chapter Text

Nicte Batan did not panic. At least not until this moment. Now she was panicking. No actually, she was far beyond that point. Aella was gone. She had been buckled into the swing in Petra and Nicte’s common room and Nicte took less than two minutes to get her fucking snack and the kid was gone. What if someone had taken her? Oh goddess someone had to have taken her. She couldn’t have gotten out of the swing alone and she had torn apart the small living quarters looking for her.

Oh fuck Tally...Tally was going to kill her. Sarah was going to eviscerate her. Or maybe vice versa it didn’t matter because she deserved it even if she didn’t know who would dish out the punishment. 

All she knew was that her favorite person on Earth was missing. That her favorite person in the universe had gone missing on her watch. Aella wasn’t even two yet, she couldn’t have been able to Houdini her way out of the swing buckles alone which meant that the one person she would both destroy the earth and die for had been taken. Someone had to have taken her. Taken her right out from under her nose. The scream escaped her as the door that led to the Administration buildings hallway swung open loudly.

“Nicte what in the world, you farspeeched me and-”

“Ae’s gone. She’s gone and I can’t find her anywhere. Petra I can’t find her. I’ve looked everywhere and she isn't here and I lost her.” She was hyperventilating. Fuck.

“What?!”

“I lost her. I lost her- she was in the swing and I went to the kitchen get her snack and she was just gone.” Petra paled.

“Shit, shit okay. Have you contacted Tally and Sarah?” Goddess Nicte was going to puke. She shook her head, not trusting her tongue to work.

“Okay, I will do that first. And will send for Quartermaine and my other daughters and we- we will find her Nic. If someone took her they won’t get far. Breath.” Breathing right. Fuck she lost her. She lost Aella.

It took less than five minutes for everyone to get there, Nicte couldn’t stop the tears that started when Abigail, Adil and Raelle arrived with promises to destroy whoever took their niece. To bring her back safe. 

Yeah, right. 

Who knows how many enemies Sarah had, how many Nicte had. People that would use Aella for revenge. Revenge that would destroy every last one of them from Abigail to Magda fucking Verger. They all loved the kid so much. Too much to lose her. Nicte punched the wall, before Petra pulled her into her arms.

“Hey, we are going to find her. I swear.”

 

 

Sarah’s eyes were red rimmed when she made it into the living area. It made Nicte's heart hurt even worse. Tally looked worse and that shattered Nicte's heart. It was so obvious they had both been crying. It was probably just as obvious that Nicte had been crying.

"I am so so sorry." She somehow managed to choke out as she met Tally's honey brown ones, moving to the blue of Sarah' Alder.

Nicte was ready to be struck down the minute Sarah’s eyes met her. She wasn't. She assumed then that it would be the minute Tally approached her…but all her girl did was fall into Nicte’s arms, ignoring Nicte's own tears and apologies as she clung to her third mother.

“We are going to find her. We will find her. It isn’t storming so she isn’t upset. We will find her.” Over and over, Tally sounding like she was trying to assure herself far more than anyone else.

Petra was starting to speak when Tally finally pulled away. She had actually just opened her mouth when a loud oink filled the air, muffled by the door. An oink that was followed by that perfect and familiar and wonderful squealing giggle, and a knock on the door. Sarah nearly fell as she rushed to fling open the door. Where Izadora stood in the admin hallway, Aella safely encased in her arms happily giggling as she covered the Necro in bright blue lipped kisses the woman seemed happy to take and return.

“I thought you might be missing this little one, I have no idea how but somehow she ended up in my office in this building…and was standing on a few of my books searching through my drawers for the candy I keep for her. And she definitely found some.” Izadora said with a grin, completely unaware to what she had just interrupted as Aella kissed her face sloppily again. The drama that had been unfolding had come to a stand still when she had knocked on the door until Tally was running forward and kissing Izadora straight on the lips just like her daughter had before dragging said giggling daughter into her arms and Sarah dragging them both into her own.

“I am so sorry, how the hell did she get out of the seat? She was buckled in!” Petra finally asked, when the sweetness of the family reunion had started to wear off…and the residue panic hangover took its place. Tally turned in Sarah's arms, Aella becoming visible again.

Aella who immediately grinned and reached for Nicte, who was more than happy to take and hug the girl tightly.

“Bambina don’t you ever do that again.” The girl giggled at the words she didn’t understand as she squeezed Nicte’s neck tightly and sang “Noooooona nonanonanona-” in her ear as the smell of sweet Blue Raspberry filled her nostrils and the Paci fell to the floor as the tiny, chubby hands found Nicte’s hair.

She didn’t even see the guilty look cross Iza’s face at Petra’s question, too busy burying her teary eyes in the dark red curls...though it seemed Sarah definitely did see the Necro's expression.

“Izadora explain. Now.” Oh Sarah Alder was angry, even Aella stiffened in the hug Nicte had yet to release her from, the sticky hand stilling in the dark ponytail it had been petting at the sound of her mama’s angry voice.

“Well…see it wasn’t my fault really” Nicte had never heard Izadora sound guilty before. 

“But if it’s anything like a collar buckle then it’s possible…probable even, that Truffles um…let her out? And walked with her to my office? Because I may have taught him how to unbuckle things a few nights ago…And well, he is a little attached to Aella, you know that considering how often you find him at your house…so…” Nicte didn’t need to lift her head from the baby cuddles to know Sarah was fuming. She thought her old friend would strike the Necro down with lightening then and their in Petra and her living room.

Until Tally laughed. Granted it was hysterical and frantic but seemed to soothe the tension in the air.

“Izadora, your pig and my daughter are going to destroy the fucking world, goddess fuck. We are so screwed. We are all so absolutely screwed. Thank you so much for bringing her here, and for finding her. We were panicking. Like a lot. Fuck, she really scared us.”

“Fuck!” The screech came from the sugar high redhead with a grin that made her dimples into craters and made Nicte's heart melt. Even as Aella's crinkled blue eyes landed on her Mama’s widened, identical ones.

“NO!”
