Chapter Text

It was a normal day at Arcadia City, California. Well, as normal as it can be in any normal city. Since usually Arcadia City faces threats to both human and reploid populations. However, today, two of it's greatest heroes, X and Zero, went on a double date with their respective girlfriends, Alia and Iris. And while one might they would vent their frustrations about the amount of times they saved the world from danger. They would use this opportunity to vent their frustrations about their daily lives.

"Jesus" grunted Zero as he took one of his french fries.

"What's wrong Zero?" Asked X in concern. Iris sighed, knowing what Zero was going to talk about.

"Bass just has to say or think about Iris" said Zero in irritation. Normally Bass wasn't interested in romance and was quite flustered around Roll. However, he made it no secret how much he had the hots for Iris, much to her and Zero's irritation.

X and Alia could only sigh at this. as they have a similar yet different problem aswell.

"You tell me" said X before he took a bite out of his pork ribs. Alia gave an understanding look.

"Wait, Rock and Proto do this too?" asked a concerned Iris.

"Not exactly. but close enough" said Alia before taking a bite out of her burger.

"So they?" asked Zero.

"Proto does about Alia what Bass does about Iris. he just doesn't say it to anyone out loud" explained X about Proto Man's search history.

"*sigh*, kids" said Iris. "Guess Rock and Roll snitch on him"

"Oh no, Rock isn't so innocent here either" explained Alia "he is, how do i explained, overly nice with me" said Alia awkwardly.

"as in overly trying to get your attention?" asked Iris

"Pretty much. his search history on that regard isn't to different than Proto's" explained Alia.

"Roll is a sweet girl, and so is Kalinka" said X about his sister and her friend who can actually keep their crush fantasies in check.

"How are you Rush?" asked Rock Light, also known as Mega Man. to his canine companion Rush. Rush barked happily. Rock and Rush may have been upgraded/create for combat puposes. but neither wanted to fight. so the two did enjoyed the peaceful times around recently at Arcadia City. the two were happy to enjoy their daily lives uninterrupted. however. their quiet days can include encounters that aren't that pleasant.

Rush barked as he noticed a boy around Rock's age walking with his dog. the boy's dog growled in irritation.

"You're lucky i'm rather in a peaceful mood today" replied the boy in a condescending manner.

"I'm not here to pick a fight Bass, and i'm glad you're not either." replied Rock politely.

"Me and Treble would like to do the walk on our own" said Bass, implying he doesn't want to talk to anyone at the moment. when Bass and Treble don't start fights, they usually do their best to keep things to themselves.

"At least you can tell people without provoking them" said Rock. Rush also growled.

"I wasn't provoking anyone, if i have to say" said Bass "However, i think i would prefer a fight at this point" continued Bass, willing to accept Rock's challenge(if it was even a challenge and if he was even challenging at the moment)

"Look, how about we just walk our dogs together?" Said an irritated Rock. Not wanting to start a fight.

"Guess we don't have anything better to do" concluded a reluctant Bass.

Rock was as red as a tomato right now. He has been that way for a couple minutes ever since Alia went to to the living room in his house to do her homework and watch him over as he was doing his own homework. Alia was doing her homework from college fine. Rock however, couldn't concentrate at all. He was busy thinking about Alia in either a tank top and shorts or in a bikini. Sometimes he was rolling his eyes towards her direction. She was currently wearing a short sleeved shirt and jeans. To which Rock was thankful for. He hoped she didn't notice any of that. His mind was getting dirtier since he entered puberty. And he wasn't too fond of that.

Unfortunately for Rock, Alia did notice him awkwardly rolling his eyes towards her direction. She understood he entered puberty. But this was awkward for her too. She didn't have a hard time to concentrate on her homework. But whenever she was noticing him. She couldn't put the thought what he was thinking about her at the back of her mind. She was an attractive woman. But she didn't like been leered at. While Rock definitely didn't leer at her. She didn't want to know if he was daydreaming about her in looser or skimpier attire.

Both wondered how on earth they got in this awkward situation. It's not like they didn't have other ways to socialize, Usually. Since by a freak coincidence, Rock needed a babysitter while Alia was available. Since Light, Wily, Cossack and Gate have gone to a science conference. Axl had a date with Cinnamon. Iris, Colonel and Dynamo had some errands to do. X and Zero were helping Signas, Vile and Double at Hunter Base. Proto Man, Bass, Cut Man, Guts Man, Massimo and Spider went to a movie premiere. Roll, Kalinka, Nana and Marino went shopping. And Duo, Sigma, Red and Lumine had to work extra hours today.

Thankfully, Alia finished her assignment for today. So she went to the kitchen to breathe some fresh air. In the kitchen there was a paper that listed Dr. Light's special nuggets recipe. However, Alia considered to order take out this time.

With Rock by himself in the living room, he could concentrate and finish his assignment. Afterwards he breathed before gaining the courage to say anything. "So, are you ordering take out for dinner or can we cook something?" Asked Rock.

"I'll order take out, I'm exhausted" said Alia. "Send me what you want on the phone" she said before going to X's room. Meanwhile Rock went to his own room.

"There's.... Nothing wrong between us..... Right?" Asked Rock awkwardly.

"Oh no, not at all" blurted Alia. "I understand why you felt awkward." Said Alia awkwardly. Happy that they got that out of the way.

Rock was completely irritated at the moment. All he wanted was just a normal, Discord conversation. However, the other guests at the server we're at their absolute worst behaviour.

Well, not all of the, as Duo, Kalinka, Roll, Proto and even Bass didn't behave badly.

Cut Man was usually the spammer of the bunch. But today he was going absolutely bonkers with memes and emojis.

Guts Man also charaded with memes and emojis. Quick Man kept using the music bot to play IceJJFish's discography on full volume.

"Guys, i know you're having fun and all. But THIS HAS GONE ON FOR 5 MINUTES" Roll yelled through the voice chat.

"Seriously, even I'M not comfy at here" complained Bass.

"This is gonna go on forever" blurted Proto.

"Hey, all of us got jobs you know" complained Skull Man.

"Just a little bit of fun after all the hard and banal work didn't hurt anyone" stated Cut Man.

"Name ONE person here besides you, Guts Man or Quick Man who's genuinely having a fun time right now" ranted Rock

"Obviously you. You were obviously ignoring all of this while searching through Alia's Instagram and the Official Instagram of the Maverick Hunters." Retorted Quick Man.

"Dude" this caused Cut Man to stop going haywire with the memes.

"He's right you know" stated Guts Man.

"That's not true" complained Rock.

"Well, they kinda have a point" stated Bass. Proto was beat red with where the conversation was going.

"You're doing the same about Iris" shot back Rock.

"Neither I or Proto Man are as bad as you are in that regard" shot back Bass

"Can you have a proper Discord Session next time?" Requested Kalinka before finishing.

"Yes ma'am" the rest said as everyone logged off.

"Yeah, at least they admit it. And in public. Okay, admitting in public about such behaviour is creepy and downright stupid." brooded Rock as he look at a photo of Alia in a crop top and shorts.

Rock was happy that he went to the Capcomland with his family and friends. However, he was not happy when Proto Man and Bass dragged him to wait until X, Zero, Axl, Alia, Cinnamon, Marino and Iris finish their ride. As he wants to go there too. But he wasn't tall enough to attend.

"You know i WANT to go there in spite of my short stature" complained Rock.

"Wait for it, trust us. When the ride finishes you'll thank us" assured Bass.

"Fine, this better nor be a watery prank." Rock did bring spare clothes because of the pool. But he didn't like being pranked that much, especially when he was upset.

Then the water splash came. But it didn't hit Rock, Proto or Bass. Then the 7 Hunters left the coaster with relatively wet clothes.

"I TOLD you to bring more than 1 set of spare clothes" complained Iris towards Zero, X and Axl.

"They get dry easily" defended himself Zero.

Rock then realized what Proto's and Bass's prank was.

However he didn't hear them giggle, nor was he beat red. He went to look at their faces and THEY were the ones beat red instead.

"You played yourselves" whispered Rock before giggling and snorting.

"So, have you been waiting here this whole time" asked Marino.

"Oh no. We just got here after i beat their asses in Ring of Destruction, Toshinden 2, Vampire Saviour and Project Justice." While Rock was indeed lying about the timing of events. He wasn't exactly lying about what happened prior to their arrival near the coaster.

"So what game you scrubs wanna try this time?" Asked Marino cockily.

"Power Stone 2" blurted Bass and Proto in unison.

"Did someone say Power Stone?" Asked Tempo as she RUSHED towards Rock's direction.

"You're lucky Tron is still at ShadArcade" retorted Axl at the site of Tempo glomping Rock.

"You know you're better at Tech Romancer than at Power Stone" Rock retorted.

"Indeed i am" boasted Tempo while Bass and Proto giggled.

"She drives me crazy
And I can't help myself" Sang Rock as he finished his turn at the Karaoke.

"Gee, you could've picked something more esoteric than Five Young Cannibals" snarked Roll at Rock's choice of song.

"I can pick The Sign by Ace of Base next" Rock retorted next.

"There's NO way your vocal cords can go this high" said Tron as she and Kalinka prepared for their turn.

"Let's sing it ourselves" said Kalinka to Tron. And the two sang The Sign by Ace of Base.

"No vocal cords" said an irritated Rock.

"You can go high with your voice but not that high" Cutman tried to explain but he was interrupted by the sounds of Rock cracking his knuckles, spinning his feet and stretching his arms, legs and back.

"Proto, Bass, Kirin J. Callinan" Rock said to Proto Man and Bass.

"You're actually planning to sing that part" Proto Man and Bass sighed and shrugged.

"I saw the sign
And it opened up my eyes, I saw the sign
Life is demanding without understanding" Tron and Kalinka sang as it was still their turn.

"As long as it's something special" yielded Gutsman as he passed his turn to Proto Man and Bass.

"You own us a special turn in the end" said Proto Man to Rock.

"Great, twin bro is about to make a clown out of himself, again" retorted Roll.

"I saw the sign" Tron and Kalinka finished their turn.

"This is gonna suck, but oh well" said Bass before Proto Man started to sing.

"I've lived in lonely cities
I've crossed deserts on camel back
And I've filled the halls of folklore with things I'd rather we forget
I could sweep you off the street so saying this is goddamn tough
But this town might be big enough..." Proto Man sang his part. Duo, Cut Man and Guts Man couldn't help but find the whole thing amusin.

"See I reckon what you're saying
But this dog's run every course
I've roamed without my boots on
I've raced without my horse
And then I ate my horse's meat straight from my horse's bones
'Cause this dog
Must roam alone" Bass sang his part. Eventually Roll joined and prepared to whistle

"You could shoot me in the mountains
In the cold fat rain
We could do it in the countryside
As we walk the plain
It wouldn't give us any closure
All cowboys need to trust
That this town might be big enough
For both of us" Proto Man and Bass sang their part as Roll started to whistle immediately afterwards.

"Aaah
Aaah
Aaah
Aaah
Aaaaaaaaaaah
Aaa
Aaah" Rock finally sang his part in the song. Surprised everyone else in the room who where incredibly dumbfounded. None of them though Rock's vocal capabilities could reach such high octaves.

A Vacation is supposed to be fun. But even when Dr. Light and Dr. Wily sought to relax in Racoon City and take the robots to a basketball tournament. Rock felt like he had a lot on his mind. He definitely needed some air. However, he remained deep in his brooding well when he was crossing the road. However, the car and motorcycle that where about to hit him both stopped abruptly.

"Hey kiddo, you know it's dangerous to cross the road without minding your surroundings" said the person who rode the motorcycle. It was a young man with white hair. The man was wearing a large red coat, a black shirt underneath, black leather pants and black leather boots.

The man's words actually caught Rock's attention who simply replied with "Oh, Sorry".

The person who drove the car was about to check on Rock and the man. It was a young woman with short brown hair. The woman was wearing a blue sleeveless shirt, blue jeans and brown boots.

"You okay little guy?," asked the woman.

"Physically yes. Mentally not sure" replied Rock.

The man chuckled at this.

"Now's not the time for jokes Redgrave" said the woman to the man, Tony Redgrave, who was known as Dante.

"I didn't say anything Valentine" replied Dante to the woman, Jill Valentine.

"No, it's fine, kinda need this mood" said Rock.

Rock, Jill and Dante bid their goodbyes as Rock went to back to the motel.

in the motel, Roc k saw Roll and Proto lookin at a news report about the upcoming game.

"I usually cover wars, but the game might be big enough to peak my interest" said the reporter, Frank West.

"oh wait, our brother is playing in this game" said Roll sarcastically.

"worst investment i have ever seen" continued Proto.

"come on, just because the Maverick Hunters have a basketball team doens't mean they waste cash" said Rock.

"Does Repliforce?, oh wait, they have a soft ball team" said Proto.

"Hey Doc, when the armored cab arrives?" asked Roll.

"Armored Cab?" asked Rock.

"Oh, Wily" Roc k answered his own question.

"Guile will arrive with the cab in 1 hour" said Light.

"DID you have to invite him?" whispered Rock into Roll's ear.

"I assure you he'll be on his BEST behavior" Roll whispered back.

"He swears like a sailor, even Wily is excluding him from such events" Rock tried to protest further.

"Good evening gentleman" said none other than Bass who showed up in his most elegant appearance imaginable. trying to fake a british accent as much as he could.

Roll was going to flip off Rock as a sort of a gotcha under any other circumstances, but due to the event she merely grinned at him from ear to ear.

Rock was trying his best not to laugh at Bass's "refined" behavior.

"Well, gyse Rock, I have arrived for the ceremony, I'm afraid I can't revert to my old ways" said Bass politely. But he still emitted an air of smugness.

"This is.... Nevermind" said Proto Man, not wanting to entertain the conversation.

Meanwhile the older hunters were paying attention as well.

"Looks like Roll got a hold on Bass" assumed Iris.

"Not really, one thing goes wrong and he loses it" said Zero as he poured himself champagne.

"Wait, I thought you don't drink often" asked Alia.

"Oh, that's not for me" said Zero as he went towards Bass's direction.

"Roll, what kind of magic is this?" Asked Rock. No longer finding Bass's "best behavior" any funny.

"Would you mind Mr. Rock, I'm trying to enjoy the event" said Bass until Zero spilled his champagne on Bass's suit.

"Oops" said Zero sheepishly.

Bass tried to keep his composure and Roll tried to assist him. But it didn't work out.

"Motherf***er that suit cost me 500$ f***ing bucks, this does NOT cover my savings, if you weren't that much of a giant I would be beating the living s*** out of your a**" Bass immediately dropped his act in rage, much to Roll's dismay.

"Told ya" Rock shrugged.
