Chapter Text

Mermaid Sun nuzzles your neck as you half-sit on his lap. You been trying to get them to speak proper words after they mimicked their name you call them. "Sunny stop that! You've got to focus". Sunny wined, and buried his head further into you.

He didn't want to learn anything today, he just wanted to cuddle close to you. "Ok come on, no cuddles after you learn at least one word", you say pointing to a childrens spelling book. "What about this one, can you say Duck or maybe fish".
"Mmmmmm", Sunny mumbled, moving his face to rest on your cheek as he looked down at the book. It display a scene showing a pond with various other images attached with their words for them. Seeing that you have his attention now you began the lession.

"Can you pronounce duck? D-u-ck. Mm maybe thats a bit hard, what about fish f-ish?" You try to slowly pronounce the words to him , hopefully getting him to repeat your it.

"f-fi f-iiiiirrrrraaaaa", he tired to speak but just ended up in a screech. flapping his tail along the water edge in frustration you reassured him by raking your fingers across his scales. "It's ok, take as long as you need". Once more he tried to speck again.

"d-d d-d AAA d-au -duc duck, duck , duck !!!" Sun was esthetic. Chirping he began to hug you tighter , repeating those words over and over. Though in the mits of his happiness he did mistake a few words.

"Duck , duck d-u , Fu, Fuck , Fuck" Oh my gosh, you laughed as he started accidentally swearing. Thinking he was doing good he continued to swear. "Aahhha Sunny no don't say that it's a naughty word ".Sunny stopped, look at you with a mixture of confusion and embarrassment.

"it's ok Sunny , you didn't know" you reassured him. You hoped to get him to say a few words today, whether this was an accomplishment or not was entirely up to you.

Chapter Text

You don't know how you got into this mess. Mermaid Sundrop was one moment nuzzling his face into your cheek and then the next he's got his frill-fins stuck in your hair.

"Ah Sunny why??!! Oh I should have tied my hair up today", you frantically said, trying to untangle the mess he's created. Some how it made it worse. Accidentally pulling his face fins too hard caused him to snap at you.

He hissed in pain, involuntarily moving backwards from you. Bad move. Your still tied together, which made both of you awkwardly trip onto the sand. Now with a mouth full of sand and your hair being even more tangled up you really thought this had to be the end of it.

Boy were you wrong. You felt something wet dripping on your forehead. Looking up you see Sun trying to fix this on his own accord. By eating your hair. "SUNNY WHAT THE FUCK DON'T BITE IT OFF!!!" Sunny didn't listen and continued to bite off chunks of your hair.

You frantically swat his face to discourage him, but he grabbed your hands to stop. With one final bite both of you were free. Still some was still stuck on him but you managed to get it off him with ease later. But at that moment you were just too stunned.

He just bloody gave you a haircut and was now eating your hair. He chirp at you in satisfaction and went back to nuzzling your cheek. You guess this now means you won't get caught in this situation again any time soon.
