Summary:

When life gives you dinosaurs, Owen is sure that nothing could surprise him anymore. Wu's latest creation proves that wrong. SO wrong.

Chapter 1

Notes:

Originally there were three chapters, but the first one didn't match the tone of the other two, so I took it off.

Chapter Text

Owen had long accepted that Doctor Wu was a certified genius—one who regularly complained about the lack of appreciation for his creations, but a genius nonetheless. That didn’t mean he liked the guy.

Far from it.

Wu’s brand of eccentricity didn’t just give him a headache; it made Owen question the very meaning of sanity. The man’s detached enthusiasm grated in a way no amount of Simon’s childish antics ever could.

And the worst part? Wu never seemed to get it.

Case in point:

“Why did you think making her was a good idea?!” Owen bellowed, slamming the jeep’s accelerator to the floor.

He knew yelling wasn’t ideal, not with Claire passed out in the backseat and Simon making giddy, unhelpful noises beside him. But restraint wasn’t exactly an option right now.

Their attempt to calm the Indominus had backfired—spectacularly. And Vic’s so-called “help” had made it worse, sending the dinosaur into a full-blown rampage.

Sure, maybe using hotdogs to lure her away from the park had been questionable. But the sausages weren’t the problem here. The problem was Victor, and Owen’s blood boiled just thinking about it.

Beside him, Wu clutched the seat, his knuckles white. “Simon wanted better dinosaurs, and Victor wanted a weapon. I’m not the one to blame here!”

Owen’s eye twitched. That tone—so unrepentant, so smug—made him feel like his brain cells were being siphoned away one by one.

“I swear, I’m going to kill Vic,” he muttered through clenched teeth. “Then I’ll maim you, Wu. Later.”

Wu ignored the threat. He always did. The man looked like he was already planning his next catastrophe.
