Work Text:
The Cranium Command theatre was haing technical difficulties. Buzzy just couldn't get his pilot's seat and arm to operate as it should. So Cast Members shut the attraction while the engineers worked to fix the problem.
Buzzy jumped down from his perch. He knew the rules - no leaving the attraction during Park hours. But he couldn't resist. One of the engineers left the door open, and so, Buzzy snuck out when Hypothalamus wasn't looking.
Buzzy had often seen the Wonders of Life Pavilion when it had closed for the night. Not when it was filled with people. Nor did he get much of a chance to listen to the weird, though admittedly quite fitting, jazzy new-age music they piped into the pavilion - usually when Buzzy explored, the BGM had been turned off.
So the big question was where to go first.
There was always Body Wars - at four foot, Buzzy was definitely tall enough for that. And it was a walk-on.
So onto the ride he went.
And it was a terrible decision.
The jerking about, the push and pull motion of the human circulatory system, and the visuals all made for a perfect storm of nausea.
Poor Buzzy had never felt more ill in his entire life, especially since animatronics weren't supposed to get sick in the first place. He really just felt himself wishing he had not gone on the ride at all. He stumbled out queasily using the walls for support, and tried his best to hurry to the nearest trash can - just in case he brought up some hydraulic fluid.
After a few minutes moaning by the trash can and not throwing up, although maybe crying just a little bit, Buzzy felt it was probably time to move on. He stumbled along to somewhere nice and quiet. The Birth Theater. There, he sat alone, weirdly. While The Making of Me played.
Buzzy knew how he was made - he was created at 12 years old by X Atencio, then Disney Imagineers built him at their headquarters in Glendale California - which was the point he came to life - and, finally, he was moved to Florida and installed in the Cranium Command theatre where he'd been since 1989.
But... this stuff about a woman with eggs and a man with sperm making love so his sperm enters her body to create a human that looks like a shrimp? And then the woman, after nine months, just squeezes that human out? That was some farfetched stuff. Buzzy had a lot of difficulty believing it. Was that the same for all humans, or just Martin Short?
Buzzy left the film confused. He saw humans every day when they saw Cranium Command. He hadn't thought much about them and where they came from, but The Making of Me certainly had him questioning all that he didn't know.
After a good half an hour away from Cranium Command, Buzzy slipped back in, maybe a bit more curious about how humans worked than before.
