Work Text:
Dokja turned to his other side to avoid the light that was pouring in through the gap between the curtains. He buried his face back into the pillow. Before he could drift back to sleep, his annoying alarm went off. He angrily grabbed his phone off the bedside table and turned it off. He sat up, stretched his arms above his head, and yawned. As he did so, the arm around his waist tightened.
"Don't do this again," Dokja sighed. He turned to his right to face the man. Joonghyuk looked amazing even with bed head, that bastard. Dokja ruffled his hair to try and make him look bad, but his efforts were fruitless. Just as he was taking his hand off his head, the other man stopped him. Now, he had his arm around his waist and was keeping Dokja's hand on his head.
"I have to go to work," he groaned at the man's annoyingly cute actions.
"I have more than enough money to provide for both of us," Joonghyuk declared sleepily. Dokja pinched his cheek but it did nothing to Yoo Joonghyuk's impeccable face.
"Joonghyuk-ie, let go," he complained.
"On one condition," Joonghyuk yawned. He then sat up and bared his cheek for Dokja. Of course, he knew what to do because he requested this every morning. Dokja cupped the other man's face and started peppering him with kisses all over his face. Yoo Joonghyuk smiled lightly as he sat there. After a minute or so, he stopped and gave him one last kiss on his lips.
He then removed the man's arm from his waist and started to get ready for work. And because this happens every morning, he now has his alarm set for 8:00 instead of 8:30. His boyfriend got up and stretched as well. His important job in the morning was to make his lover breakfast. He turned on the stove and started grabbing ingredients.

He slipped on his shoes as his boyfriend grabbed his keys. Joonghyuk had said he'll buy Dokja anything he wants. Anything except a car, that is. His excuse was that it was too expensive and unnecessary but Dokja was pretty sure he just enjoyed driving him. Besides, he was also pretty sure that buying a car was like buying a T-shirt for Joonghyuk considering his salary.
He checked his phone for the time and it read 8:33. As long as there wasn't traffic, he would get there on time. Shit, hopefully he didn't just jinx himself... Maybe Joonghyuk's awesome luck would cancel out his bad luck, again.

Luckily, there was no traffic and he ended up arriving at 8:50. The bad thing was that Joonghyuk wouldn't unlock the car. Joonghyuk tightly held onto his hand and looked at him with pitiful eyes. Seriously, who was this guy? When they met, Joonghyuk was a complete bastard, didn't show emotion, and acted like he hated everyone.
He laughed softly at the thought of how their friends and his fans would react to seeing him like this. He leaned over and gave the man a kiss. As he did, he reached behind him and unlocked the car and quickly opened the passenger door.
"Goodbye, Joonghyuk-ie. I love you!" he said warmly and waved. Joonghyuk nodded and waved back. The man waited to leave until he saw Dokja had walked through the office doors. As he zoomed off, he mentally punched himself for not saying 'I love you' back. Even though he didn't say it, Dokja knew he loved him; it was quite obvious from his actions.
Dokja hurriedly made it to his desk before it hit 9. As he turned on his computer, his boss, Han Myungoh, started stomping towards him. He controlled his massive urge to trip him. Han Myungoh slammed a stack of papers on his desk.
"I need these done by tomorrow," he snarled and stomped off. Dokja flashed a smile to his back while he contemplated murder. His coworker peeked her head over the cubicle wall.
"Do you need help with those, Dokja-ssi?" Sangah asked him.
"You'll help? Thank you, really," he said gratefully and gave a sigh of relief. At least he had one nice coworker. She was like an angel that descended to his workplace. He split the stack in half and gave one to her and she sat back down.

Time passed quickly as he diligently did his work. He may have possibly done some slacking off in that time as well, but who knows? He looked at the computer's clock. It was 13:30 aka his lunch break! He hurried out before his boss could get mad at him for trying to eat food. One day, he would kick that guy's ass.
Dokja exited the elevator that led on to the roof. He sat down on one of the benches, opened his lunch box, and waited for a call. As soon as he took his phone out of his pocket, it started vibrating. He answered the video call and smiled at the person on the other end.
"Hi, Joonghyuk-ie. Guess what?" Dokja asked. "I'll be getting off earlier than usual since my coworker helped me out." At that moment, he could've sworn he saw Joonghyuk's tail wag. He didn't have a tail, unless he was hiding his secret werewolf side...
"When should I pick you up?" Joonghyuk questioned. The two agreed that 5:30 would be a good time. After talking for a bit, Dokja had to get back to work.

Joonghyuk stared at his phone's blank screen before he put it down. He got up and sat down at his desk. He couldn't mope forever. If he didn't stream, he wouldn't get money and if he didn't get money, he wouldn't be able to spoil Dokja-yah. He hated the thought of not being able to spoil him. Before he called his boyfriend, he had been scrolling through his gallery, looking through an album labeled "Dokja."
He turned the stream on and opened Valorant. Within a few seconds the chat was flooded with messages. He looked at it only once for a specific user.
'reader1863 : have a good day Supreme King :))'
"Thank you reader1863," he said with a straight face but on the inside he smiled. After that, Dokja-yah left the stream to continue working. Now that he wasn't watching, he kept his mouth shut the rest of the stream. Some people hated that he didn't talk but a lot of people argued his looks and skills made up for it. He continued to stream until he had to pick up Dokja-yah from work.

Dokja hopped into the car and gave Joonghyuk a kiss on the cheek.
"How was your day?" he smiled.
"Good, how was yours?" Joonghyuk asked back.
"Mine was good, too. I got to do less work," he laughed as Joonghyuk drove them home. There was a peaceful silence between them. They didn't need to talk to know that they were both happy and content. Dokja rested his head on the window and stared outside. He truly loved spending his time like this.

They took off their shoes after they entered. Dokja went to the bedroom to change into comfy clothes. Meanwhile, Joonghyuk went to prepare dinner. He had a little surprise for his boyfriend tonight. Hopefully, he would like the gift.
Dokja walked into the kitchen, sat down at the counter, and watched him cook. His boyfriend was so graceful with everything he did. After he finished cooking, he placed the food on the dinner table. The salary man got up from the counter and walked over to Joonghyuk. He gave him a peck on the cheek and another one on his lips.
As Dokja went to sit down, a hand grabbed his waist and prevented him from doing so. Joonghyuk pulled him close to his own body. They stood there hugging each other for a minute, not saying anything. Then, Dokja pried himself from his grasp and was finally able to sit down. Delicious couldn't even begin to describe the food.
The man happily ate the food. Meanwhile, Joonghyuk picked at his food and watched his lover eat. He was glad he knew how to cook. He stood up out of nowhere and walked over to Dokja's side.
"What's wrong, Joonghyuk-ie?" he asked with a muffled voice because he still had food in his mouth. He didn't say anything and just waited for him to finish eating. Once he finished, he looked back up at Joonghyuk and tilted his head to the side a little. Dokja smiled at the man, confused as to what he was doing.
"Kim Dokja..." he muttered.
"Yes, Yoo Joonghyuk?" Dokja teased him. Joonghyuk just stood there, wondering what he should say.
After a minute or so of silence, Joonghyuk silently asked him, "Will you marry me? I can't stand the thought of me not being by your side." Dokja was stunned. He sat there with his mouth agape. The man didn't realize it until Joonghyuk crouched down and wiped his face with his sleeve, but he was crying.
Tears poured down his face. Joonghyuk silently wiped his tears away. He pressed his forehead against Dokja's and looked him straight into the eyes. The taller man was waiting for an answer. Dokja frantically nodded his head as he cried.
"Yes... Oh, a thousand times yes. I will," he uttered with a shaky voice through the tears and snot. He hadn't expected him to propose! 'Oh, I'm truly lucky!' Dokja thought to himself. Joonghyuk let go of Dokja. Then, he reached into his pocket.
The man pulled a beautiful ring out. It was a shiny silver band and had tiny carvings in it. Joonghyuk held his hand and slipped the ring on his pale finger. After he slipped it on, he pulled another one from his pocket. It was similar to his.
The ring looked exactly like his except the band was all black. Joonghyuk handed the ring to him and held out his hand. Dokja wiped his tears once more and grabbed his hand. Carefully, he slipped the lovely ring on the man's large and tanned fingers. They clasped each other's hands, their fingers intertwined.
Dokja wondered if he was worthy of marrying someone so out of his league. As if he had read his mind, Joonghyuk kissed his cheek.
"You look as lovely as you did when I asked you out back in college," Joonghyuk cooed. He wrapped his arms around the crying man. Dokja snuggly fit his face into the crook of his neck. He never would've thought this day would come. If you had told high school Dokja that he'd be engaged to his crush, he wouldn't believe you. In fact, he would've called you crazy.
Neither of them moved for a while. After a few minutes or so, Dokja's crying subsided. Joonghyuk let go of him and kissed him once more. He didn't want to leave, but his shirt's collar was ruined. Joonghyuk quickly changed his shirt and was back at the table, all in under 5 minutes. The man could never stand to be too far from the other.
They silently ate their lukewarm dinner together in silence. They could sit in silence forever, as long as they were by each other's side. As they ate, their hands which wore rings were clasped together. Dokja's happiness couldn't be contained and he let slip a small chuckle. The other smiled slightly as well.
Joonghyuk rubbed his thumb against Dokja's knuckles. Continuously rubbing the new ring. Even he couldn't believe it.

As Dokja did the dishes, Joonghyuk had his arms around his waist and his head sat lazily on his shoulder. He'll admit he did struggle a bit under the weight of the other man. Who wouldn't? Now that they were engaged, Dokja had a feeling that he would be even more clingier(could he get worse than he is now??). The man would forever be a leech.
He dried his hands off and tried to pry the leech off of him. His efforts were, of course, fruitless. Dokja smiled and sighed at the same time. The leech walked along with him to wherever it was he went. So, he decided to leave him.
He continued his nightly routine he always did before going to sleep. When he went to the bathroom, Joonghyuk did as well. They both brushed their teeth together and did other hygienic things. Dokja squinted at himself in the mirror. His eyes had dark eye bags underneath them which contrasted with his pale skin. Because he had been crying earlier, his eyes were puffy and red.
"Ah, now I look worse," he muttered as he put on a fluffy light pink headband to keep his hair out of his face. Joonghyuk kissed his cheek before speaking.
"You've never looked bad," he whispered into his ear. He grabbed Dokja's face mask for him and handed it over. Dokja ruffled his hair and laughed. The leech sat there and peppered kisses all over his neck as he applied his face mask. After he applied his mask, he put lotion on his and Joonghyuk's faces(not that he needed it, he just wanted Dokja to rub his face).
Fortunately, he managed to convince Joonghyuk to let go as they changed into pyjamas. As soon as he was done changing though, Joonghyuk reattached himself. They slipped into bed and Dokja pulled the covers over them. He turned around and put his arms around the bigger man's waist. Dokja snuggled his head against his chest and could hear the man's quick heartbeat.
If Yoo Joonghyuk was really a werewolf, his tail would be wagging and slapping against the bed right now. He would be more like a big puppy instead of a werewolf. Dokja drifted off to sleep as he imagined his partner with different animal ears and tails. Meanwhile, Joonghyuk drifted off to sleep dreaming about their future house in the countryside with their future kids. Let's just say, they aren't always on the same page.

The woman smacked the back of Dokja's head. This earned her a slap on the wrist from Joonghyuk. She rubbed her wrist from where she was slapped and groaned.
"Finally, you two bastards are getting married," Sooyoung complained. "After all these years!" Dokja nodded his head. They might insult each other 24/7, but Han Sooyoung really did wish for his happiness. Even back in highschool when he would secretly crush on Joonghyuk. They're best friends, they are allowed to insult each other.
Everyone else congratulated them. Heewon suggested a drinking party as a "celebration" but everyone knew she just wanted to get drunk. During the entire thing, Joonghyuk didn't say one word. He gave the occasional grunt as he tightly held onto Dokja's waist. Sangah walked over to him and held his hands within hers.
"Congratulations, Dokja-ssi. It's nice to see you smiling like this," she laughed. She let go of his hands, not caring that Joonghyuk had been glaring daggers at her. Sangah went to go join Sooyoung's side.
"Hyung, it can't be true!" Gilyoung whined. "You can't marry that sooty bastard!" Yoosoung agreed with him and they both tried to tug Joonghyuk off of him. Of course, he didn't even budge an inch. The kids gave up and went to pester Mia who had been sitting on the couch.
Dokja leaned back into Joonghyuk's chest. His body was warm and comforting. The smaller man melted in his touch. Dokja watched the chaotic but familiar scene unfold in front of him. Everyone was laughing and celebrating.
"Let's get married on Christmas," he whispered into Joonghyuk's ear as he looked outside at the gray sky. The window was open, letting the cold December air hit their faces. Joonghyuk kissed him in agreement.
