Chapter 1: prologue
Chapter Text
The world seemed to be painted in red for William and his family, their hands dripped in crimson while they executed their mission to save the people of england. Williams' thoughts flitted back and forth, never stopping long on one thing before he finds something wrong with it and moving onto the next. His younger brother Louis looked at him for a brief second in concern before continuing his attack on the gathered nobility, moving like a tornado of black and red as he leaves nothing but dead bodies bedecked in finery on the ornate floor.
William finally came back to reality from his brief venture into the endless depths of his brain and drew his side sword, gloved hand wrapping around the ornate silver handle. He swung the elegant blade in an arc towards the man trying to creep towards his brother, severing his head immediately. He watched as the blood painted his hair red and a slight smile worked its way onto his features, finding the irony funny as he observed his family execute his plan perfectly. Moran was sniping any he wished from the upper floor while casually sipping some whiskey, Fred watched next to him already preparing for the clean up, Louis and Albert worked together in synch, seemingly dancing, and James perched on a table in a fine suit sipping wine watching the chaos that he had a hand in by leading them into the party.
William gently cleared his throat and watched as everyone turned to face him “I believe it's time for us to make our daring escape before Mr Holmes and Scotland Yard catch up to us, don't you?” his voice filled the room, though his volume stayed at its normal quiet lilt. They all nodded before making their way to their designated escape plans, no one needing to say a word to each other as they flawlessly slipped away into the night. William pulled his hat down further, hiding his face and carefully sat down on the band's abandoned stage, letting a hand drift along the floor briefly wondering about playing the piano that stood proudly in the centre. The thought was chased from his mind as the door burst open, police men flooding the room led by the one and only Sherlock Holmes.
“Well hello. What a pleasure to see Scotland Yard finally decided to show up” William lightly mocked.
“Step down lord of crime, we have you surrounded. There is no escape this time” Lestrade stated from where he stood with John Watson. “Oh don't you see Mr Lestrade? There's always an escape for those who are willing to take the risk, Mr Holmes here understands that. Dont you, Sherly”, William spoke in a playful tone, while having guns aimed at his head. “That depends on how far you're willing to go, doesn't it” Sherlock just watched the figure draped in shadows while lighting a cigarette. William just tipped his hat before he stood and broke out in a sprint towards the sprawling windows that looked out onto London city, he used the armoured coat that was a constant fixture in his outfit to protect his arms as he broke the delicate windows and turned around as he fell, laughing freely.
Before the police could even reach the window, he pressed his back, Herders newest invention unfurling. The winglike contraptions let him glide over the city, landing him gently on a roof where his brothers waited for him, green and red eyes lit up by the flickering lights. “Is it finally time for our closing act brother?” Albert asked, and watched as William's eyes met his, the three brothers grinning at the hell they were going to bring down onto the British nobility. “It is time for them all to pay for their sins”

chapter 2/ the moriarty household
A young William wandered through his new home, exploring and committing every detail to memory. He had just reached the younger of the Moriarty brothers' rooms when he heard a whimper, and watched as a young maid ran out his room, crying and holding her bleeding hand to her chest. William poked his head slightly round the door and saw the young masters face was doing something akin to a smirk as he admired the blood glistening on his fork. His eyes looked up and malicious brown met dark red, as the two stared at each other in silence. “What are you doing here, orphan?!” the young noble spat, disgusted that the orphan had dared to darken his door.
William just stared back, knowing if he uttered a word the consequences would be even worse than they are now he's been caught. The young posh child stood up from his elegant seti and stalked towards William like he was a predator going in for the kill “I said, peasant, what are you doing here? I would hope you're not just thinking you can enter my room. After all, you don't even deserve to live in this house let alone enter a nobles room” he laughed at the emotionless face of William. “Now run, run, run away back to the trash where you belong, before i decide you've stayed you're welcome” his brown eyes glinting with something dark and violent followed the young boy as William walked away.
A cough echoed from around the corner and the elder Moriarty son walked around and smiled fakely at his younger brother “i should hope you aren't threatening my guests and our new family, brother dear, after all you're just the youngest Moriarty, not anything significant” Albert stared the younger down, watching as he wilted underneath the piercing green eyes. “Of course not Albert! i would never” The violent child lied through his teeth, not caring if his brother believed him or not. Albert sighed and followed after William, hoping to ensure hes ok. The youngest Moriarty tilted his head as he left wondering when his brother came to care so much for some random orphans they took in due to their father's infatuation with that woman.
~~~~~~~~~~
William entered his and Louis’ room, greeted by the sight of his brother laying in bed, even though he was recovered from his sickness the young blonde still felt tired every so often. “Hello Louis. How was your day?” William inquired, soft voice causing his brother to smile. “I spent it cleaning again, while being watched by the butler. I learnt a lot about the family due to the man's habit of nattering on for lengths of time” Louis sat up slowly, watching as anger flickered through Williams eye's at the news he was cleaning again. “How was your day William?” he asked, before the anger could grow any more.
“I explored the house and discovered that the young Sir seems to enjoy stabbing his staff with a fork, and threatening me” William recounted what had happened between him and the petulant boy to Louis, unaware that Albert was stood in the doorway listening to every word until he spoke up “Im sorry my home isn't a pleasant place, and you have to deal with my insufferable brother. I doubt the knowledge that we have had to cover up multiple staff's untimely demise due to his unruly personality”. William glanced at the young Lord “Mister Albert, are you openly admitting to us that your brother is a murderer?”.
Green eyes met red and instead of them clashing like William did with the newly found out murderer, the two boys seemed to come to a silent agreement as Albert nodded. “And would you like me to do anything with this knowledge?” William smiled at the boy who took them in and vowed to help them end the class system that is ruining their country. “I believe its time for us to start what we agreed upon, dont you?” Albert smiled back at the two brothers. As two pairs of red eyes met a pair of green, the start of an unbreakable bond began to form. The bond of brothers, accomplices, and devils.
Chapter Text
The 3 brothers began to plot, going over every last detail until their plan was complete. Once the moon was high in the London sky, they silently left their room.
William went towards Lord Moriarty’s rooms, unscrewing the gas on every candelabra as he went. Louis snuck towards the cruel, pompous Lady Moriarty’s room, leaving a trail of chemical air behind him. Albert stalked towards his brothers room, the smell of gas only adding to the terrifying aura around him. At the same time, the three boys plunged their knives into the person in front of each of them.
William watched as the Lord’s eyes filled with anger and disbelief that an orphan he brought into his home would bring harm to him. Louis stared emotionless, as the Lady clutched the wound on her stomach in panic. Albert smirked as his brothers eyes filled with shock and pain.
Together, they hid in the cellar as the clocks chimed midnight, and Williams carefully made contraption triggered a fire that spread throughout the entire manor. Once the elegant building was in blazes, the three children left their safe haven, any trace of blood on them carefully removed. The youngest of them stopped, crimson eyes caught on a piece of flaming debris. “Louis?” William noticed his brother stopped and turned around only to see Louis press the flaming piece of wood to his face.
“LOUIS!” he gasped, staring at his brother in concern. “Now no one will question us. Three boy's surviving a fire unharmed? Thats very suspicious. But 3 noble orphans, one of whom is injured will raise no suspicions. It is a small price to pay for everything you two have done for me” he stared devotedly at the blonde and brunette. Albert nodded and extended his hands to the red-eyed brothers. They clasped his hands and walked out the burning door, adopting the facade of scared children.
Outside the blazing manor, firefighters and police worked to try and stop the house from turning to ash. One such policeman yelled “LOOK! THERE'S PEOPLE!”, as he saw three small figures limping out. He immediately rushed forward to help “are you three ok? who are you?”. “Im Albert James Moriarty, these are my brothers William James Moriarty and Louis James Moriarty” the eldest of the boys answered, standing tall as he uttered the final lie that began the reign of James Moriarty, The Lord of Crime.
Chapter Text
William held Alberts map in his hand as he looked around Durham. He let out a sigh as the minute details of the map began to blur, and let his eyes examine his surroundings. He saw a fruit vendor and made his way over to her “excuse me, madam, i was wondering where the university is please?” he asked with a charming smile. “you're runnin a bit late for class, lad. But its just over that way up th’ road” she pointed eastward. “ah im not a student, but thank you kindly, madam. What would you say is your best fruit at the moment?” William scanned over the colourful array of fruit in front of him. “if you aint a student, why ya headed to the university? and id say its Burtons grapefruit” the vendor pointed to the orange coloured fruit
“If you need ta get to the university, i will take ya sir” a man spoke up from where he was unloading more grapefruit from his cart. The woman blinked at him, shocked he’d offer a ride to a noble. “Ah thank you greatly Sir. Im running rather late. And madam, i will be back later to try one of those grapefruits if you dont mind” William tipped his hat to the vendor and gracefully sat in the mans cart. they set off towards the university without any more words shared. Once they arrived, William hopped out and patted the man on the shoulder “Thank you greatly Mr. Burton, it’s much appreciated” before he quickly turned tail and began to gracefully run towards his new job, leaving behind a confused Burton wondering when he told the young professor his name.
~~~~~~~~~~
After William finished his lessons, he began to walk towards where he assumed his home was, counting the seconds that passed. He smiled once he reached the elegant front door, realising he can enjoy a walk to the university every day. Opening the door, he was greeted by the sight of Louis unpacking their things. Louis looked up at the sound and smiled at seeing his brother “Hello William, how was your first day?”. “Hello Louis, it was enjoyable, I got a ride in with a local farmer who works for Baron Dublin. I do believe we will have a new consultation job within the week because of him” William placed his hat and blazer on the coat stand by the door and moved to help his brother unpack. “Heavens no, William!! You go sit down and I will make you tea. Leave everything to do with the house to me” Louis fussed, shooing him towards the living room.
Once Louis had placed the steaming cup of tea in his hands, he moved to dust the windows as an excuse to stay in the room. William smiled as he sipped the drink “Ah, it feels good to be home”. “Isn't it rather soon to be calling this place home, William?” Louis questioned, as he replaced the vase of Chrysanthemums. “Anywhere I get to enjoy a drink made by you, Louis, is my home. You always make the most delicious tea” William took another drink. They conversed until a knock was heard from the door and a messenger handed them a letter from the Baron, inviting them to dinner later that evening. “Louis? Do you know when Albert should be arriving?” William smiled at the elegant note in his hand. “I believe in time for this meal” Louis let a slight smile grace his features, already preparing to do whatever his brother asked of him.
~~~~~~~~~~
“Thank you for the lovely welcome, Baron. This meal is most enjoyable” Albert raised his glass in thanks to the man sat across from him. “Bah, it's nothing Lord Moriarty, I can not wait to find out what deals we can make to improve our earnin- *cough* I mean our town” Baron Dublin echoed the gesture. Just as he took a sip of the wine, his doctor cleared his throat from the door and the Baron sighed “Yes yes, fine. Look, I'm taking them now”. He grabbed a pot from his pocket and tipped out a few pills, throwing them into his mouth and gulping down some water offered by his butler. “Oh? Are you in good health Baron?” William inquired, after watching the series of events. “Ah, just a weak heart. My physician is rather paranoid so he stays by my side at all times and constantly reminds me i shouldn't drink too much” He waved it off, and returned to eating. “I hear you have a rather fantastic garden on your estate. May we see it one day?” Albert inquired as they were leaving. “Oh of course Lord Moriarty! We shall have a picnic there. Are you free in two days time?” the Baron clapped his hands excitedly. “Yes we are, well then we shall see you in two days then Baron. Farewell” The brothers tipped their hats to him and left.
Once the three Moriarty’s arrived at their house, they noticed a young couple stood outside their house, awkwardly waiting. “Hello Mr and Mrs Burton. What may we do for you?” William smiled as they left their carriage. “Ah professor, er well, Michelle, no we was wonderin if you could be o’ help to us. We ‘eard that you helped those who needed some nobility gone” Mr Burton answered, while his wife hid under her shawl, avoiding anyone’s gaze. “Well, that all depends on your reasons for wishing the Baron gone” William stepped closer, eyes staring intently at Michelle. “He’s a cold blooded murderer and deserves the same as what he did to our son. Death.” She looked up, eyes filled with grief and rage. “Then we will gladly offer our services as James Moriarty, Crime Consultant” William bowed, already a plan unfolding in his mind.
Chapter Text
“Welcome Lords Moriarty, to my gardens” the Baron Dublin bowed with a grin on his face, as he opened the large glass doors. The three brothers walked into the spacious greenhouse, eyes wide in fake awe. “How do you maintain all these plants, my good sir?” William laughed slightly as he turned to face the Baron. “Ah well it’s all thanks to my gardener Burton, he’s the best gardener you could find. And I don't have to pay him much since he doesn’t expect to be paid more than necessary” the Baron whispered the last part while his grin widened.
“Well he does an amazing job. Like those trees over there are grapefruit, which are exceedingly difficult to find in England. Even for one of our standing! ” William pointed to a few trees hidden away in the back. “Grapefruit you say? I just found it rather eye catching, but the name suggests it’s edible.” The Baron turned to the middle brother, a question in his eyes. “Ah yes, it is edible and really rather delicious, especially when made into a juice” William explained politely. “We must have some at once! Burton! Get some help and juice us some grapefruit post haste!” The Barons voice boomed through the glass structure, alerting Mr. Burton to leave where he was tending to some Azaleas to go get help. Whilst he did that, the nobles sat in the arranged chairs, eating the food that was laid out.
~~~~~~~~~~
Burton returned quickly, followed by his wife, who was holding a basket with all the necessary equipment to juice the yellow fruit. They quickly got to chopping the grapefruit, the knife in Michelle’s hand hitting the cupboard in a dark rhythm that reminded William of a heartbeat. He watched the Baron laugh and joke with his brothers, ignorant of his impending death, and wondered why scum like him was even allowed to live in the first place. He was just about to rejoin the conversation about the university, when suddenly, Burton let out a yell as Michelle ran at the Baron, eyes glowing with rage and hand stretched out as if to claw his eyes out. She held the knife loosely in her hand, pointing at his jugular. The Baron fell off his chair in shock and scrambled desperately away while Burton held her back.
“BURTON! Get your wife under control! I'm calling the authorities!” Baron Dublin yelled, hand grasping at his chest. He was just about to yell for his guards when he gasped, all oxygen leaving his lungs as his heart began to hurt. William reached for a glass of grapefruit juice abandoned on the side table and handed it to the Baron “here Baron, take your medicine and have a minute to calm down” he soothed. The Baron eyed Michelle from where she was now sitting dejected on the floor, eyes back to being empty pits, as he tipped pills down his throat and desperately gulped the juice down.
“I will not calm down! That woman tried to kill me unjustly!” He yelled once the medication kicked in, pointing at her. “IT WAS NOT UNJUST YA PATHETIC MAN. YA KILLED ME SON WITHOUT SECOND THOUGHT!” She shrieked, and began to fight against the arms of her husband. “I did no such thing! How dare you accuse me of such a thin-“ The Baron stood up from where he was on the floor, but his legs gave out and he just collapsed again. His eyes filled with panic as he grasped at his chest, looking around desperately.
“I see the juice worked then did it?” William smirked as he crouched down next to the Baron “You see, Baron, the components found in heart disease medication, and the compounds called furanocoumarins found in grapefruit, when mixed together enhance the effects of said medicine, causing your blood pressure to suddenly drop to a deadly point” He explained, red eyes glinting with something inhumane. “Wh- W- Why?” The Baron gasped.
“Because I am William James Moriarty, Crime Consultant and Lord of Crime. And the Burtons requested my services to right an injustice. I wonder, do you remember a night when the woman who made an attempt on your life earlier, came to your door in the rain and the dark, and begged for your help, and you refused? Well think of this as long awaited karma. Goodbye Baron, you were a cruel man and as such deserved this death”.

Chapter Text
Louis and William where sat drinking tea after breakfast when Williams eyes were immediately caught on the headline of the paper “local girl dead from jumping off bridge!”, he scanned the rest of the article, his mind racing to discover what made her end her life. “Are you ok, brother?” Louis asked, watching his elder brother scan the newspaper like it held the answers to every unsolvable maths equation. “Yes Louis, just thinking about this girl and her untimely demise. This Frida was described as a happy care-free girl, with high aspirations for the future, yet she threw herself off a bridge, with her body nowhere to be found. I do think we may have a new job on our hands soon” the middle Moriarty brother smiled coldly, excited to purge the world of more sinners.
~~~~~~~~~~
William walked into his first lesson of the day, eyes wandering around the room, checking everyone was present and functioning enough to learn. His crimson pupils caught on the empty chair of one Lucien Atwood, eldest son of a viscount. “I see Lucien is missing once again. I shall stop by his dorm later to check everything is ok with him, i'd hate for him to fall behind in my lessons” William spoke as he began writing out a complicated problem on the blackboard. He was interrupted by Charles (A.N luciens friend is unnamed in the manga, so im calling him Charles :) ) yelling “Oh, professor Moriarty! There’s no need to worry, Luciens just come down with a touch of fever. We are looking after him just fine and we’d hate to have our favourite professor get sick with this bug Lucien has”. William turned to look at Lucien's dorm mate and friend, who was nervously rambling, obviously trying to hide something. With a slight smile William shook his head and told Charles “Well if you’re sure Mr. Darvis (yes I stole this from the new dnd film I watched it today (April first) and it's my new favourite film of all time). Now then class, who can solve this equation for me?”. Throughout the lesson, William kept an eye on the young Mister Darvis, watching to see signs of anxiousness. And he was well rewarded, the young man was unable to sit still and was nervously glancing at the door every few minutes as if he couldn’t wait to leave. Once the lesson was over, he all but bolted for the exit, without even a goodbye to his professor.
Once Williams lessons for the day were over, he slowly started walking towards Lucien's dorm, only stopping to inadvertently listen in on two students discussing their future escapades “I’d be careful you two, if anyone but me heard your conversation, you’d be in a spot of trouble” he said from where he was leaning against a wall, eyes slightly narrowed. He tried not to laugh at the boys panic, but frowned when an unknown man came up to him afterwards and began talking about how he shouldn’t be so scary to the students.
“Ah, that was a terrible first impression, Professor Moriarty. I'm Dudley Bale, chief accountant for the university. it’s a pleasure to finally meet the man everyone is talking about!” the black haired man smiled, hand out as if William was to shake it. William just tipped his hat politely, knowing it was considered beneath him as a Moriarty to shake hands with someone not of the nobility. “Wonderful to meet you Mr. Bale, I do believe you’re the owner of a hospital and a few shops, are you not?”. Bale nodded, smiling and quickly led the discussion into that of his many businesses. Soon after, William said his goodbyes and continued on his walk to the dorms, determined to find out what happened to the young Atwood.
He opened the doors to the building, and was greeted by many of his students in the act of breaking many school rules. They all let out yells and immediately tried to hide their illicit actions, one even going so far as to try and shove his lady friend out the window. Charles stuttered out “Pro- professor! Why are you here?”. “Why? Does a professor need a reason to check in on his students? Oh, just so you know, I’m a hundred times more livid right now than you may think” William said, face painted with a fake smile, as he strode through the dorm, headed straight for the room marked as Luciens.
Without a word past that, he opened the door and walked in, eyes scanning the neatly kept room “Mister Darvis? Did you not say Mister Atwood was in his room with a fever earlier?” He turned to the young man, eyebrow raised. “Ah well, you see, he recovered! Yeah! He recovered and is currently talking to some friends to get the work he missed.” Charles explained hurriedly. “Ah yes, he’s ever so studious. I must ask though, does Young Lucien have an opium addiction?” William inquired, pointing to a bottle labelled ‘Opium Tincture’.
“Lucien? Please! the most that rule follower ever did was sneak out to meet his gir-“ Charles cut himself off before he could finish his sentence. “I'm going to presume that is where Mister Atwood is currently then, meeting his ‘girl’” William continued to exam the room, finding nothing out of the order. “Well normally he would be yes, professor, but we haven’t seen him in days, and I found out this morning through the paper, his girls gone and killed herself!”
Chapter Text
“Lucien was dating the serving girl, Frida?” William turned to the boy, eyebrow raised as he panicked at telling his professor that a young noble was dating a peasant. “Mr Darvis, i would appreciate an answer to my question” William continued to stare as Charles debated telling him, with a sigh Charles started talking. “Ok professor, but you can’t tell anyone I told you this. Lucien was to marry this Frida girl, he was truly in love with her. You can read his journal if you want, he wrote endlessly about her in that thing”. William listened, intent to discover what happened to the young woman and his student, and broached the question again “Mr. Darvis, are you positive Mister Atwood did not partake in the opium craze that is slowly spreading?”. “Please, as I said Sir, Lucien was a rule follower. He only broke them to meet his ‘one true love’ as he put it. I don't know who’s that opium is, but it's definitely not Luciens. I have a question for you now though professor, will you try and find Lucien? He's been missing for days now, but i can't exactly go to the police with this, it would ruin his reputation” the young man stared his professor down, trying to discern what his plan was. “Don't worry Mister Darvis, I will find and return Lucien post haste” William promised, and strode out the room, a plan already forming in his mind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Louis? LOUIS?” William looked for his younger brother as he entered their house, and felt a weight lift from his shoulders as he met the identical crimson eyes his brother bore. “Yes William? What's wrong?” Louis hurried to his side, slight panic in his eyes. “One of my students has gone missing, and he was set to marry that girl whomst we were discussing earlier. And I have promised to find him. So i believe it's time to call them in” William placed a hand on Louis’ shoulder as apprehension flickered in those blood red eyes “Are you sure brother?”. “Yes. Send them a telegram to come here instantly” William instructed his brother and then disappeared into his study.
~~~~~The next day~~~~~
A knock rang through the room, covering the scribble of a pen, and William looked up from the array of paper in front of him. “Come in!” He indicated to whomever was behind the door. A slight smile appeared on his face as two familiar figures walked in, one greeting him with a nod and the other with a cocky grin “Is it finally time William?”
Chapter Text
“Hello Moran, Fred. I do believe it is time”, William said as he greeted the two, a small smile growing slightly, he opened the door to let them in. Moran’s smirk grew as he sauntered into the pristine hallway, eyes roaming over the sparsely decorated home. “Hey Will! Where’s those brothers of yours, anyway?” he asked his boss, not seeing Louis or Albert anywhere.
“Hello Moran” Louis coldly greeted from behind him, lips twitching slightly into a smile when the former military man jumped out his skin. Moran cleared his throat and shook his shoulders, “Hi Louis! Fancy gettin’ me a drink?” His only response was a dark glare, before Louis turned to William. “Brother, is it really necessary to have this brainless oaf here?”
“Now Louis, you know full well without Moran we would be in quite a bit of trouble. Especially on a job like this”. William calmly walked over from where he stood, Fred following behind him like a shadow.
“And what is this job you’ve brought us here for Will?” Moran’s smile once again fixed itself to his face, as he turned to the middle Moriarty brother. “Well killing a cruel and sadistic man of course. I believe Dudley Bale has forced drugs on multiple students at the university, and even killed a young serving girl at a nearby bar. She was from what i've heard a well liked, cheerful girl who did not deserve to die the way she did. And since she is no longer on this Earth with us, it falls onto us to exact revenge for her”.
~~~~~~~Later the next night~~~~~~~
Dudley Bale ran quickly from his opiate den to the bridge where he had sent that foolish girl to her death only a few weeks prior, letter clutched in his hands as the name of the sender flashed in his eyes “Lucien Atwood”. He came to a stop in front of a bench, chest heaving as he tried to catch his breath. Finally, he looked at the hunched boy sat in front of him, clothes hanging off his slight frame due to days being pumped full of opium “Lucien! Dear boy what are you doing out here?” Bale asked, trying not to let his anger show. Before Lucien could answer, he heard footsteps behind him and he whirled round to see Frida stood on the bridge where she had jumped to her death, mist swirling around her, and next to her stood a cloaked figure, the fog hiding their identity.
The figure stepped forward and pushed their hood down, eyes unmoving from Bales face as recognition flashed across it “Professor Moriarty! What are you doing here?”. “Hello Mr Bale, I’m here to return my student back to his dorm where he belongs” William walked towards the two gentleman, no emotion showing even as Bale tried to wheedle his way out “Ah but Professor! Look at the poor lad. I will take him to one of my hospitals instead”.
“I believe you will be too busy dancing for that Mr Bale” William lifted a hand towards the still figure of Frida and she started to move in the same dance she did while in a drug filled haze, and he watched as horror crept onto Bales face. “Sadly, young Frida shall not be your dance partner tonight. Instead you shall be dancing with someone who has long awaited your hold. Death” Williams eyes lit up with sadistic joy as Moran started shooting around Bales feet, causing the man to move and run into something akin to a dance.
Moran shot at the man doing a fools dance until he imitated the young Frida and leapt into the raging waters. William turned towards the shadow of a boy sat in front of him “He killed her didn’t he?” Lucien rasped, lifting his head to look at his mathematics professor who he just watched murder a man. “Yes, he did. And for that, we killed him. Now i believe a young Mr Darvis is anxiously waiting your return so let us depart Mr Atwood”.

Chapter Text
The Lords of Crime and their compatriots sat in a dark room, examining a board while William explained his plans to them. “Firstly, i'd like to thank you dear brother, for the chance to avenge the life i had and would've continued to have, alongside the fact that without you, Albert, I would’ve lost Louis. So truly thank you. Now what i choose to do with this chance of vengeance is to punish” William watched the gathered group’s reaction, and when he saw nothing but delight and willingness shining in their eyes he continued
“I wish to make the nobles of this city pay for their sins, but we shall do so in a way that no future generations will ever repeat their mistakes. So, my dear brothers and friends, are you ready to turn this city into a stage? To create a play of pain and travesty for the ages?”.
As he talked, Albert and Louis looked to each other and then back to their brother, expressions never wavering as they devoted themselves to their cause. Fred and Moran just continued to watch William with awe shining in their eyes, prepared to follow the man to the ends of the earth and further if he asked. Louis spoke for all of them as he said “Where do we start then brother?”. William looked to him with a smirk shining in his eyes “With this man, Count Blitz Enders, on the perfect stage for such a man to reach his end. The Noahtic ship that departs within the month, on which we all have rooms. Take this week to prepare yourselves for the most important role of your lives. As soon we shall play the Lord of Crime and his nobles”.
~~~~~~Later that month~~~~~~~~~
William gazed up at the Noahtic, with his brothers by his side, watching the bustle of the port and the disgraceful nobles waiting to board. He was jolted from his thoughts by the abrasive voice of one Lord Enders complaining about the nobility boarding at the same time as the lower classes. The Moriarty brothers looked on from afar as Moran asked the brutish Lord if he would follow the man to his rooms, moving through the lower classes waiting to board, inciting their irritation at the Lord’s rudeness. As he watched the proceedings, William’s eyes caught on a man with blue hair tied in an attempt at a ponytail, who was examining Lord Enders while smoking. Before he could study the man further, Albert spoke from his shoulder “And so the Moriarty plan begins, dear brothers, and so it begins”.
