Super Sentai Word Prompt Round 10

Summary:

We have reached Round 10!!!!

After more than a year, I will reach 100 prompts!

Chapter 1: Combative (Ryusoulger)

Chapter Text

“You know, Bamba and Asuna are two pees in the same pod.”

“Asuna would sock you if she heard you say that.” Melto warned his friend. But he secretly agreed with Koh’s assessment.

It was not hard to guess why Koh thought so. At the beginning, Bamba was very combative against the trio largely due to his distrusting nature. But he had thawed out a lot since then. Asuna on the other hand was aggressively competitive, especially when it came to food and her super strength.

“And Bamba has a secret competitive streak against Asuna when it comes to arm wrestling.”

“Good luck to him.” Melto snorted.

Koh grinned and leaned forward, resting his head on his palm. “How long do you think it’ll take until they break the table?”

“Sadly, we’ll have to buy Ui a new one next week.” Melto sighed “I’m more interested in knowing how long it’ll take for them to realize how alike they are.

“Well…” Koh tilted his head then smiled. “Who knows?”

Chapter 2: Marry (Shinkenger)

Chapter Text

“...Is this some kind of fake wedding to lure out an Ayakashi or monster of the week?”

“Chiaki!” Kurando pouted. “How could you say that!? It’s my own wedding!”

His son threw up his hands defensively. “Hey, I had to sit through not one, but two fake weddings, just to rescue brides from Usukawa Dayu. And I didn’t even know you were dating or engaged!”

Kurando’s jaw dropped dramatically. “How did you not know…oh, wait, you were at the Shiba Manor at that time.”

“And you didn’t think to mention it when we bumped into each other at that family restaurant?”

“It slipped my mind.” Kurando answered with a sheepish smile. Chiaki facepalmed at his father’s nonchalant attitude.

  “Oyaji.”

  “Yes?”

“I wish your new wife good luck for putting up with your absentminded goofiness.”

Kurando’s pout deepened. “One, she’s your future step-mom, not just my new wife. And she loves my shining personality.”

Chiaki only gave his father a strange look then shrugged. If this lady can put up with his father’s goofiness and make him happy, then he had no problem with her. Though, it was unlikely he could ever acknowledge her as his mom. He had 18 years of having his dad as his sole parent. Having someone act like his mother when he was already close to being an adult would be strange. As long as his dad was happy though, he can put up with her.

Chapter 3: Sleepwalking (Gokaiger)

Chapter Text

The first few nights on the Galleon were weird for Gai. He was not used to the rumble of the engines running through the night, Luka’s snores (she’ll sock him hard if he mentioned it), and the creaking of the beds…

*CRASH*

Gai let out a yelp as he rolled off the bed and ended up tangled in his blanket. He fumbled to untangle himself and grab his Gokai Cellular and Key.

“What’s going on!? Are we under attack?” He yelled when he threw his door open.

He was greeted by Joe’s flat look. “1 minute, 30 seconds.”

“Eh?” It was then he realized that the rest of the crew, save for Marvelous, were dressed and armed. Though, they were huddled behind the corner to peer into the main room.

“Work on getting up faster.” Luka rapped her knuckle on his head. “If you take that long to get ready for a real attack, you’d be dead by the time you step out of your door.”

“Hai.” Gai winced in pain. “...But we’re not under attack?”

“No. Marvelous-san is sleepwalking again.” Ahim shook her head.

“Eh-!? Ouch!” Gai cried when Luka hit him again.

  “Shh!”

“Sorry.” Gai winced again. He crept over to have a look as well. Marvelous was moving around with a rag and occasionally wiping down some things with it, all with his eyes opened yet glassy and unfocused.

  “Maverlous-san is…sleepwalking?”

“I’d call it sleep-cleaning rather than sleepwalking.” Doc shook his head. “He always cleans up the room whenever he sleepwalks.”

“This has been happening since Basco betrayed him and AkaRed, according to Navi.” Ahim quietly explained.

“But it’s happening more often since he showed up on Earth.” Luka scowled.

Back in the main room, Marvelous dropped the rag and flopped onto his chair, falling back to real sleep.

Joe sighed and shooed everyone back to their rooms. “Go back to sleep. I’ll take care of him.”

Once everyone was back in their rooms, Joe went to the captain and covered him with one of the blankets they left lying in the room specifically for him. The first mate sighed down at his friend. “You’re trying to clean away Basco’s filth in the Galleon, aren’t you? Don’t worry, you don’t have to. He’s not here anymore. We won’t let him set foot here or near you.”

Situating himself on the couch, Joe remained at guard over the captain, protecting his sleep for the rest of the night.

Chapter 4: Grumpy (Lupat)

Chapter Text

“Someone’s in a bad mood. What’s got you strung up, Mister Grumpy-Pants?” Kairi teased as he slid a chair over to Keiichirou’s table.

Said cop was too engrossed with stuffing food into his mouth angrily to be annoyed by the waiter-slash-secret-phantom-thief.

“Those phantom thieves!” He growled in between bites. “The Ganglar got away because they were hindering our jobs!”

Ah, so the hot-blooded policeman was still sore about that. Earlier that day, the two teams fought against each other to destroy (in the case of the Patoranger) and steal the Lupin Collection Piece (in the case of the Lupinrangers). In the end, their fighting allowed the Ganglar to slip away until Noel caught on and ambushed it to get the collection piece though it still got away.

It left a bad taste in the thieves and policemen’s mouths but Kairi was feeling a lot better after seeing Keiichirou throw a fit over it.

“Ah~Don’t choke on your food then~Wish you good luck with the thieves.” Kairi said mockingly as he got up to head back to the counter.

“Kairi!” Umika hissed once he was out of Keiichiro’s hearing. “Why were you provoking him? He’s going to be harder to deal with if that Ganglar comes back.”

That got Kairi to roll his eyes. “I was just trying to see what he knew about the Ganglar.”

“Liar.” Touma snorted. “You just wanted to make fun of him.”

Busted. Oh well, at least his own bad mood was gone. Stuffing his hand into his pockets, he gave them a lazy smirk as he made his way out of the building. “I’m going for a walk~”

“Ah! Oh no you don’t-!” Umika didn’t have the chance to catch up with him before the door closed and he made a break for freedom.

Chapter 5: Hiss (Magiranger)

Chapter Text

“Smoky!”

“Nya!” The Genie cat jumped as the lights suddenly flickered on and scrambled to hide the snacks he pilfered behind his back as Urara strode into the kitchen with a stern frown.

  “What are you doing?”

“Um…” Smoky had no idea what to do. In his dumb mind, he hissed at her.

“Don’t hiss at me.” Urara admonished him. She crossed her arms. “Well?”

    “Just…just getting water!”

The lame excuse was not bought by the Blue Magician. A glint of light from the packets hidden behind the genie caught her eye. Her eyes narrowed and in one quick move, snatched the snacks out from behind him.

  “Eeik!”

  “Were you stealing snacks again?”

“Sorry Mama.” Smoky lowered his head contrite.

“You know the rules. No snacks after 9.” Urara scolded him lightly. She replaced the snacks back in the cupboard and gave him a pointed look. “And hissing is rude. If you’re hungry, you can take some crackers but not the junk food.”

 “Yes Mama.” Smoky sighed.

Satisfied that the genie knew his lesson, Urara gave him a packet of biscuits. “You can have just one. Good night.”

  “Night Mama.”

Chapter 6: Freeze (Kiramager)

Chapter Text

It was cold, too cold. Juuru wanted to move, shiver or even chatter his teeth. But he was unable to move at all. The Jameshi of the week was an igloo themed one with a penchant for freezing people in blocks of ice. Unfortunately, Juuru got hit by its freeze beam. And he soon found out that the experience left him conscious and aware of the cold premating his body.

He could feel his friends’ rage and fear for him as they fought the Jameshi and Bechats with a furry he had never witnessed before. Tametomo ended up being the one to defeat it with the Kiraful Go-Arrow.

“Juuru!” His friends ran over to him as the ice freezing his body melted and he collapsed, shaking badly.

“...Cold…” Juuru whimpered out through his clattering teeth. It hurt the others to hear the pain and fear in his voice. Sayo immediately dropped to his side to examine him.

“His body temperature is too low. We need to get him and the other people frozen to the hospital.” She revealed grimly. Things began to take a turn for the worst when a Jamen Beast and Smog Jouki appeared.

Tametomo and the others growled darkly. The gamer quickly assumed command of the team and barked out orders. “Sayo-nee, take Helico and get Juuru and the people to the hospital. Sena, Shiguru and Takamichi, you guys handle the Jamen Beast. I’ll take Grateful Phoenix to deal with Galza.”

  “Right!”

The Kiramagers were on a warpath, the Yodon Army later realized too late. Never hurt their young leader or the Kiramagers will destroy you.

Chapter 7: Magical (Toqger & Ninninger)

Chapter Text

  “I really don’t understand.”

All eyes turned to Kasumi. Right tilted his head curiously. “What do you not understand?”

“I don’t understand how Imagination can allow your trains to move as they can. From what I can see from the blueprints, they have engines like any other train but their movements are…freerer, like they can make twists and turns like no other trains can.”

The other Ninninger exchanged glances. There goes Kasumi’s scientific mind looking for answers.

The Toqgers had invited them to visit the Terminal and Kasumi jumped the chance to see the inner workings of the trains since she didn’t have the chance to before.

Nagi gave a nervous chuckle. “Kasumi-nee is really into this.”

Mio and Kagura exchanged glances while Tokatti pushed up his glasses thoughtfully. “Well, the trains run on the engines that move them, but the controls respond to our Imagination so they can make curves, hoover and go off-track if needed.”

Kasumi’s brow furrowed deeper. “I still don’t understand it.”

“Don’t fry your brain by thinking too hard.” Takaharu teased, throwing an arm around Right. “It’s not like it’s any different from how we pilot the Otomonin with our Nintality. Ne, Right?”

“Yup.” Right nodded in agreement. “Our Imagination and your Nintality…It’s like they are magical to let us do so many things that we can only dream of!”

The Ninningers gave their resident magician sly grins.” Magical, huh?”

Said ninja became flustered. “That-! That’s not the same!”

“We know, we know, Yaki.” Kinji grinned, patting his shoulder.

“Let’s get on with the tour before Conductor yells at us for being slow.” Hikari spoke up.

“Right then! I’m on fire!” Takaharu pumped his fist. His gesture was copied by Right.

“Then let’s go! Full speed ahead!”

Chapter 8: Swim (Goseiger)

Chapter Text

Alata lightly dipped his wings in the water to test it. Satisfied with the temperature, he lowered himself in the tide pool. His friends were scattered around the beach. Hyde had taken to the sea for a swim and dragged Agri with him. Eri and Moune were sunbathing further up the beach. Nozomu wandered over and sank his feet in the pool. “The water feels great.”

“Yup.” Alata lazily floated on the pool on his back. “It’s not too deep for a swim too.”

Nozomo’s eye lighted up and lowered himself into the pool. True to Alata’s word, it was deep enough to swim but not too deep. They lazed around the pool until Agi and Hyde swam up to the pool.

“Isn’t that too small?” Agri eyed the pool critically.

“Not all of us are Olympic swimmers/angels who can swim in rough currents.” Alata retorted.

“Ooh~You got burned.” Moune sniggered as she and Eri wandered over.

“Since when did you get sassy?” The older Landic angel grumbled.

“The currents aren’t too bad today, but Alata has a point that they can be dangerous for inexperienced swimmers.” Hyde imputed.

Eri clapped her hands to get their attention. “Let’s do something else that all of us can do together. I propose making sandcastles!”

The others immediately shook their heads. “Pass.”

Moune grabbed Eri’s wrist to pull her back to their towels to continue sunbathing, leaving the men back at the pool.

“The both of you can continue exploring the sea. Nozomu and I will be fine here.” Alata waved at his friends.

Aquicising to his request, Hyde and Agri swam back out while Alata and Nozomu played around in the pool.

Chapter 9: Stones (Kyoryuger)

Chapter Text

“Flat stones…flat stones…” King mumbled to himself as he searched the banks of the river for any smooth, flat rocks. Once he amassed a good amount of them, he wandered back to the campsite with a wide smile.

“Ah, King-dono! I have gathered more rocks, gozaru.” Utchy waved in greeting to his companion and gestured at the small pile beside him.

“Good.” King deposited his rocks beside it and rubbed his hands together in glee. “Let the skip off begin!”

A competitive smirk formed on the samurai’s face. “Let it be known I will not go easy on you, King-dono!”

  “I expect as such!”

Each grabbed a rock and threw it across the pond to skip them on the water’s surface.

“I win!” King exclaimed as his rock skipped five times as poised to Utchy’s four.

The warrior sighed but good-naturedly condeeded defeat for this round. He grabbed another rock. “Another round?”

“Of course.” King tossed his rock in the air and caught it with a grin at his friend. “Ready…”

  “Set…”

“Go!” The two Kyoryugers tossed their rocks on the water.

Chapter 10: Messy (DonBrothers)

Notes:

It’s the 100th drabble! I didn’t think I would get this far when I first started this series. And what better way to celebrate than having this dedicated to DonBrothers that has ended today.

DonBrothers has been wild, crazy and sometimes hard to follow, but it had its charm. I’m glad I watched it.

Next is Ohsama Sentai Kingohger. I’m debating if I want to follow the series but I’ll give the first few episodes a try.

On an important note, I’m putting this series as complete for now. I have exhausted and pressured myself to write the drabbles that I am burnt out. I need a break to relax and recharge my brain, maybe even finishing up my other fics. And I might continue again with the new sentai.

Chapter Text

“Anyone know when this will end?” Haruka grunted as she clubbed several jelly shaped humanoids that splattered into gooey, gross jelly over them when hit only to reform a few seconds later. Around her, the others were struggling as well. Even the Noto’s weapons and Murasame were ineffective against the jelly people.

“No idea!” Kijino screeched as he swooped down to kick away the jelly people sneaking up on Sonoza.

Sonoi grunted as his sword ran through a slightly larger jelly humanoid but it did nothing to stop it from reforming. He looked around and frowned. “Speaking of which, where is Tarou?”

“Who knows?” Tsubasa said disgruntledly as he swung the now exhausted turned dormant Murasame. He thought he could be free from this madness when he saved Natsumi. But noooo, he still got dragged into battle after battle whether he liked it or not.

“Tsubasa-kun, look out!” Sononi tackled him away just in the nick of time as an ax came down on the spot he was standing at. The InuBrother growled but reluctantly accepted her assistance. He was still mad at her for deceiving him. But she was persistent in continuing to seek him out and earn his forgiveness.

Saruharu shook his head at them. A haiku was forming in his mind over them. ‘The lone wolf and the Ice Queen, frigidity and grudges bereft them.’

Seconds after coming up with the haiku, he was distracted by the music and scattered petals accompanied by boisterous laughter.

“Wahahaha! It’s a festival, people! Laugh, cheer and shout as we make new connections!”

  “You’re late, Tarou-san!” Jirou complained.

“The palanquin got stuck in traffic.” The leader of the DonBorthers simply said. He transformed into Goldon Momotaro with the Palanquin Phoenix and unleashed a blast of light that melted the small fry jelly people, blinding his friends in the process.

“Give us a warning when you do that!” Sonoza brandished his spear at him.

“I offer no apologies.” Tarou said unapologetically. With a laugh, he leapt off the palanquin to shoot down the remaining jelly people.

  “Show off.”

Tarou merely smirked at Sonoi’s jab when they went to the oden cart for a celebratory meal after all the jelly people were destroyed. “It can’t be helped that I’m the best.”
