Nanase hated holding grudges against people, he knew it was in his best interest to forgive and forget, for the sake of the team. The events of the previous night did still bother him; was all of that really necessary, and why did he react so drastically? As he followed the sound of collisions, a deep breath helped him approach the door, keeping himself together. As if Karasu sensed Nanase’s presence, he turned to the boy, walking over slowly.

“Didya sleep alright nanase?” Karasu began the conversation, calmly, his eyes scanning the boys face.

“Uh yeah, we are having breakfast together if you wanted to join,” he slept horribly, but didn’t fancy burdening anyone with his issues, especially the person who caused it.

“You didn’t sleep well, and you are probably still upset with me, correct?” It’s like the raven had read his mind, leaving Nanase frozen, “cmon you can’t hide it from me, also you look exhausted.”

“I guess,” Nanase looked at the football the other boy held, avoiding eye contact as a way of avoiding any conflict.

“I’m sorry,”

“What?” Their eyes met, one with sincerity the other with shock.

“I’m sorry for pushing your limits and joking about something I shouldn’t have,” Karasu apologised, something odd from someone who really believed to be better than most, “and if you do need to talk about anything, I may be a pain but I’m not an idiot, promise ya,”

Nanase smiled slightly at the joke, realising this was the first time Karasu had been remotely serious, while also feeling relieved that the issue was sorted instead of being suppressed and ignored.

“I forgive you, just no more jokes about it, I’m not really sure why,” a small blush growing on his face unknowingly became visible to Karasu, yet the boy stayed quiet, “I know the jokes are harmless but I would just rather you didn’t, I’m still trying to think things through you know?”

“Understood, and if you do have a crush on Rin you know I’ve got the best advice with my two boyfriends,” Karasu teased once more, patting Nanase’s shoulder before walking past, “fuck those pancakes smell good, let’s go,”

“Hey!! I do not have a crush on him, I don’t think, I mean,” now his warm face became apparent, Karasu turning to raise an eyebrow with a smile, “shut up and walk Tabito,” he finally spoke, leaving the two laughing on their way back to eat breakfast.
