There was an endless sort of energy in the air,
like this night would both last forever but be over in the blink of an eye.
Everything was sped up, in slow motion,
her lips crashing into his,
her words tumbling from her mouth jumbled together into one statement
“Iloveyou”.
His sounded the same,
sped up, not his usual elegant speech,
but a rush to tumble from his own lips as they both felt the endlessness of the night,
the world around them speeding,
crashing into itself,
the final battle here and now,
and them,
and their love,
caught in the middle of it.
